Tasty food, great service, excellent ambiance

I recently visited Tesoro at the JW Marriott @ Marco Island on August 17th, 2024, and while the experience had some highlights, it also had some significant drawbacks. First, the positives: 🌅 The Sunset View was absolutely stunning, providing a picturesque backdrop to our evening. The Drinks were well-crafted and enjoyable, and the Service was attentive and friendly, which made us feel welcomed. However, the experience fell short in a couple of key areas. The Mediterranean-style food was underwhelming, with only a few options on the menu, and unfortunately, not the best selections. We started with the Mezze Board and the Cured and Crude Board Shareable, and while they were presented nicely, the taste didn't impress us. After trying the Mezze, we decided not to stay for dinner, which was disappointing for a place of this caliber. Another major downside was the Valet cost—$48 without validation and $28 with validation from the restaurant. This felt excessive, especially considering the lack of clear directions for self-parking. It added an unnecessary strain to what could have been a more enjoyable evening. As a Titanium Member of Marriott, I’ve visited many Bonvoy hotels, and while Tesoro has its charms, I can’t say it’s worth the visit given the overall experience. 3 stars—one each for the Sunset View, Drinks, and Service. Unfortunately, the food and valet issues mean we likely won’t be returning, since there are many options in the area for good drinks and great sunset views!

Very limited menu, but we went out on a limb and tried a few things. We were all very impressed with our dishes. The pasta is handmade in house and the flavors were great. We also ordered Manhattans and Old Fashions and they were made well.

I had a fantastic lunch here! The place was really nice, with stunning views that made the visit unforgettable. The food was excellent, and the staff was exceptional. I want to give a special shoutout to Tony, the server, who made the afternoon extra enjoyable with his friendly service. I can’t wait to come back!

Amazing atmosphere, location, and views. We didn’t eat buy had a couple amazing drinks and the sunset was spectacular. Their bartender and staff were great.

We made reservations for our Anniversary. Our assigned waiter had a 20 top and we left after 30 minutes sitting waiting for service. The menu made our decision very easy to leave. Only one steak on the menu, didn't disclose the ounces.

Best sunsets on Marco Island…and the food and staff is amazing as well. Ask for Giovanni- he takes the BEST care of every detail during dinner. Order the STEAK- best steak we had while on the island. And enjoy cocktails on the rooftop for the most amazing sunsets that light up the entire sky.

Tesoro’s is located on the 5th floor at the JW Marriott and the view is breathtaking. Amazing to witness a sunset with family and friends or romantic a date with your spouse. They have the best espresso martini I’ve tried in naples so far, or I don’t know if it was the server that makes them and it’s delicious. They also have live music and great food.

Food was wat below average, fettuccine lobster dish had a pieces of shelf in it, no taste and very chewy tiny chunks of what appeared to be presented as lobster, good guess if it was?? The Branzino fillet was tiny but good ~ but it was served with cold flavorless risotto plus had to Wait for an hour with dry dry drink and wine glasses. Bathrooms dirty and not stocked as well.

Hostess wasn’t a Happy girl at all. Waiter was nice but got our order wrong. No water, didn’t clear the plates. This is supposed to be an exclusive adult dining experience. Not! Kids running around. We won’t be going back. I can see why they receive 3.8 stars.

Sadly we had a bad experience here, and this is the first Google review I have ever done. We came for a drink and lunch on a Sunday. No hostess to be found and we also sat and waited for a server at a table for 25 minutes. It was not busy and there appeared to be 3 servers. We got up and left but we were not ready to give up on the JW Marriott as we had paid $15 for parking, we ended up at Quinn’s which was not much better but at least we got served.

Undeniably great setting and views of the ocean but inexcusably terrible food - for the price probably the worst I’ve ever had. On a positive note it was so bad it did make us laugh on the last night of our honeymoon.

The service and the welcome environment were only surpassed by the incredible food. Thank all at Tesoro

5 star for atmosphere because the views truly do make this place worth it. Only giving 4 stars cause it is a little pricey since it’s in a resort, and the service is typically a little slower. But I have continued to return here several times because of how beautiful it is! Once you get past the prices, the food is very delicious. And an excellent espresso martini!

My recent visit to the JW Marriott Tesero restaurant left me seething with frustration. The experience was marred by an excruciatingly long wait for our food, pushing my patience to its limits. When the entrees finally arrived, they were disappointingly cold, casting a gloom over what should have been an enjoyable meal. To make matters worse, the prices were shockingly high, leaving me questioning the value of the entire dining experience. As if that weren't enough, the agony continued when I found myself waiting an intolerable 30 minutes for a simple beer. The sluggish service not only disrupted the flow of the meal but also underscored a severe lapse in operational efficiency. It's incomprehensible that a basic beverage could take such an absurd amount of time, further contributing to my overall dissatisfaction. In retrospect, the JW Marriott Tesero restaurant failed on multiple fronts – from interminable wait times to cold entrees and an inexcusable delay for a basic drink. The combination of these shortcomings, coupled with the steep prices, has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth and a resolve to steer clear of this establishment in the future.

Selena was an exceptional server. Professional, sweet, warm, approachable, fun! The view is stunning! The atmosphere fun, but the music was a little loud.

Definitely could have been 5 stars if we felt more welcomed.. My 21st bday yesterday and my mom took us to celebrate We had reservations, but we arrived early because it said first come first serve for outdoor seating, when arriving there was no host, the first guy we saw we said “hi! we have reservations but we wanted to sit outside” He then was kinda like “yeah so the host is at the front and she’ll help you with all of that” kinda little snooty like we missed the host or something lol.. he then walked over and said “actually she’s not here right now but you can go sit at the bar” Okkkk (we were there early for outdoor seaitng, there were already people sitting outdoor as well) there were a lot of empty seats so we just went and sat and enjoyed the view which was beautiful. then we went to the bar The bartender was SO sweet and so amazing, she was training a guy and she was so so so nice. loved her. there was also another bartender later through the nice and he was great as well. We then found the host later and my mom pointed to the seat we’d like (a lot of seats available but we wanted to communicate the one i liked) and she said if we sit there now will receive a lunch menu (10 mins till dinner) So we said okay and just waited i said like 5 times to my mom i felt like we weren’t going to be served and that they don’t like us 😭😭 We then went over to our seats at 5:10 ish and nobody came over till 5:25. Whatevs the view and area is beautiful I then ordered the wagyu, medium rare, it came out cold & it was more like medium, not a lot of pink but not to the point of well done i love me a steak and i was very hungry so yes i ate all of it, but 68$ for a steak that wasn’t cooked how i asked and cold instantly was sucky. but that’s okay. Ordered a margarita with our server and it tasted fizzy, the one at the bar was not fizzy so that was weird lol. Got cheesecake at the end which was very good, our waiter also took it off the check which was super nice that was super sweet! Very beautiful place but disappointing that from the beginning we didn’t feel very welcomed (besides the amazing bartender(s) and sucky about the cold wagyu.

This review is in several parts: Food: I had the Grouper sandwich. It was just ok, not noteworthy. I've had better. The fries, on the other hand, were outstanding. They are thin cut and were perfectly fried and seasoned. I found them mildly addictive! Service: The waitress did a good job, meeting our needs in a timely manner. Our food arrived in a reasonable time after order. Atmosphere: The view of the Gulf is great!

Way overpriced. While I don’t mind paying high prices for quality food this place would be out of business if it were not inside the JW Marriot resort. The hostess was inexperienced and not professional, service was slow, music too loud and the food was mediocre (I am being kind). Don’t waste your money.

I took my wife here for her birthday dinner and they ruined the night. Everything we ordered was terrible and took forever. Her fish was cold and gross, falafel was hard and cold, pasta was barely edible… I’d rather go to Taco Bell than go here again.

The view is great the people are nice . The food is overpriced of course, it’s. JW. The food is also average at best.

The drinks were good, the service above average, and the view was divine, but the food was shockingly bad and so over priced. I ordered Moroccan chicken. Room temperature, flavorless, fatty chicken with one sliced olive. Barely edible. My husband had a Greek salad with chicken. It wasn’t enough food for a child, and he eats salads for most meals.

Complacent server and manager... extremely long wait for everything and didn't seem to care....wanted a good night out for anniversary and ruined by staff....

We had a girls trip to celebrate our 50th birthdays just a couple of weeks ago, and it was a amazing! The outdoor dining area ocean views are breathtaking and the service was fabulous. Look forward to returning soon from Nebraska!

My wife and I had our 2nd anniversary dinner here. This was one of the best dinner views and experiences we’ve ever had. The host sat us in the front with the best view and the sunset was incredible. As expected, it’s expensive, but worth it for the experience. The food was thoughtful and excellent, though it’s not a very extensive menu. Highly recommend our server Vika from Moldova, she really made our night special.

Our server Selena gave us excellent food recommendations...and then there was the wine! We will be back!

Terrible customer service, no communication with customers, it's pulling teeth to get to saff, barely any staff, staff hiding, long wait times (1hr +) with less then 20 customers, but really nice view and location close to the beach.

We visited for our anniversary. We booked a table inside, but arrived early to find a table we preferred outside instead. The outdoor area is furnished nicely. The views of the beach and gulf are excellent. We had two nice cocktails to start: the blood orange margarita and a G&T. Both were great. Our waitress was very nice and available to us when we needed her. We weren’t impressed by the options for the main dishes on the menu and decided to order various tapas and a salad. The portion sizes here are all over the map. For the olives, the portion size was huge. For the croquetas de jamon (best thing we had), the portion size was tiny. The chorizo dish was also huge and really kind of weird — huge chunks of chorizo with red peppers in an oil likely cooked out of the chorizo. It was good but rich, and we could only eat a few pieces each. Photo included was taken after we had eaten what we could. The burrata salad was what I would consider a normal size and was acceptable. We made an attempt to order a bottle of champagne. We chose the Ruinart Blanc de Blanc. Our waitress came back to say they were looking for it because they “keep the expensive bottles in another place.” That raised a tiny alarm bell, but we waited to hear more. Eventually, someone else came over with a different option that they had leftover in the back because it had been on a previous menu. We initially agreed to have it, but were not happy with being presented with a cheaper option and one with a huge markup. We asked to have it taken away, passed on choosing another, and went down to the beach area for cocktails before going home. I’ve heard more positive reviews of lunch here, but not sure I would make an effort for that unless I was in the area. Overall, a great setting but a mediocre dining experience.

My wife and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary with JW as it has become our tradition the last 5 years. We actually met one Summer at the JW Marco! So this was a very special trip for us. Tuesday evening we had a reservation at Tesoro where we had our first date. We got a call saying the ovens were broken and only cold food could be served. We opted to cancel our anniversary reservation and rebook for tonight, Thursday. I called earlier this evening at 4pm just to make sure the ovens were working and I spoke with the Resort Operator to inquire about Tesoro and I was assured that “the issue with the ovens has since been resolved.” Upon arriving at Tesoro for our 7pm reservation, we waited at the hostess station for over 15 minutes. I eventually walked in and asked where the hostess was. I was told she was the only one working the station and was very overwhelmed and she would be with us shortly. We waited another 5 minutes and then a group of guests angrily walked out reporting that there were no servers attending to them and the ovens were not working. I went in again and the bartender confirmed the ovens were still not working, despite me getting confirmation of this earlier. Needless to say, we too left Tesoro for the second time this week without being welcomed and served. I’m utterly disappointed in how this restaurant was managed this week and how the oven issue was handled. Moreover, I’m completely disgusted that I was given inaccurate information over the phone when I called to confirm if the restaurant was running properly. To celebrate our anniversary, the only place we were able to eat at last minute without a reservation in Marco Island was Pinchers, a chain seafood restaurant. This was completely embarrassing and disturbing.

We dinned here for the best view on our anniversary. We deliberately showed up early to have the best table for 2, so we thought. We sat at the corner for the perfect sunset and then realized everyone continued to stand in front of us to take pictures blocking our view. Our server was very nice, and we tried to enjoy our romantic dinner as the sun went down, but I was disappointed. We eventually moved our table closer to the glass wall ourselves. It's incredible how rude people can be. We enjoyed the drinks & appetizers. For dinner, we had the fettuccine, which came out cold, dry, and overwhelming with lemon zest. They took it back and did not make a new dish. I can only assume it was microwaved. I was never offered fresh cheese or pepper!!! I asked for pepper. A McCain pepper mill with almost no peppcorns in it was placed on the table. For dessert, we ordered creme brulee, which was not freshly made. Honestly, they say you get what you pay for, but dinner was far from excellent, peaceful, or romantic. It's all about who you're with that makes this experience worth wild.

Service was very slow and not very friendly even though we took care of our bartender.

Don't waste your time or money. Understaffed, so getting a drink or ordering your meal in a timely way is difficult to impossible. Food is underwhelming in flavor, lacking in portion size and really expensive. Finally, the bathrooms were absolutely filthy, making it clear that management of the space is slim to none.

Nope…. tried to eat here with our 19yo daughter but they wouldn’t seat us. Then after an hour of wandering found the “Italian” restaurant on site, so disappointing. $70 for equivalent of a microwave pizza. We should have eaten before we got to the JW. All of the options to eat here have children barefoot running thru the restaurants, yelling, throwing balls, with zero parents to be seen.

Beautiful setting to watch dramatic sunset !

We celebrated our anniversary. Married in 1959 on Feb 28. There was a mix-up in our entrée but it made it more of a memory. Our server was awesome, and the views were spectacular.

We reserved ahead for a sunset view with our 85 year old parents. They did not provide an outside table where we could see the sunset. We were very disappointed. We will not come back. This experience at JE Marriott has been disappointing all the way around

Very expensive. Food was ok. View is amazing. Was not able to park in the lot as they were saving places for an event. We had reservations but no place to park. I would only go for drinks, music and an appetizer.

Big problem for them to assign us a table despite having several vacant ones, which took a long time to occupy throughout the two hours we were there. The food was average, quite overprized. The evening was saved by the waiter Jonathan who went out of his way to accommodate us. They need more people like him in the service

Best view of the ocean and beach. It's for 21 and older only. The mushrooms and tomato Flatbread were delicious. Drinks well made. Pricey, but not unexpected. Definitely worth a try.

We usually get bad service in some way at Tesoro (we are locals and members of their country club) but last night was the worst. No one waits on us for 15 minutes and it was empty (3:30pm). Walked up bar but bartenders would not acknowledge me (service I am used to). Spoke to a guy at end bar and he said someone will be there shortly. Waited some more but no one comes by. Walked toward the kitchen. Asked a waitress for the manager. She rolled her eyes and went into kitchen. Same guy I talked to before comes out. Asked why didn't anyone wait on us. He just shrugged. Bigger problem here than just employees. Management has their eyes off the ball.

Service was very slow, food was decent, but not worth the price.

The food and service was excellent. There is one strange thing on the menu. They list a shrimp saganaki (which I ordered and was excellent) but this dish should be called shrimp Santorini because it has tomato and feta topping. Saganaki is a special sharp cheddar cheese on Greek cuisine. This dish is not that. But it was good either way.

My mother has life threatening allergies which can make eating out frightening. Carlos, our waiter, went above and beyond to ensure my mom could have a nice meal and keep breathing. He was confident and kind. This is very much appreciated!

Breathtaking views of the water, we could see a fire dancer on the beach from our table. We enjoyed sitting by the fire after sunset. The food was... ok. Let's face it, you're not going there for the food.

Great place. Lunch service was decent one day and super slow another (10m to get a menu and another 10 to get a drink). There aren't good options for lunch at the hotel, yet this lunch menu is tiny and yet the food is (just) passable for the level of the hotel and this location. It should be better, but the location is redeeming.

I would give this resurant a zero star if possible without even getti g to order food. NEVER have I ever had to give my credit card for "An authorization hold" before even ordering. After spending 15 mins trying to find it we were not greeted. Then just sat down. Finally someone acknowledged us and came to take our order. I order a Highnoon and my girlfriend ordered a water. He then asked for a credit card for a pre authorization. The way he said it made me feel like I was a criminal. Really? We were prepaired to oder $100 plus in food and tip very well but I am not going to spend a dime with someone that thinks i am a criminal. Should have asked to keep the tab open or close it. Nope his loss and if you were traveling to Marco Island(which isnt a cheep place to visit) save your self a headache and go else where that doesnt steriotype people.

Staying at the JW Marriott Marco this weekend which is AWESOME. We have been here at Tesoro three times on our stay. Friday night for dinner. I would say it was a 4 star. Came back Saturday night for a cocktail and music. Couldn't get service. Servers and bartenders were crabby and not happy with each other. Live music ended at 8pm....2 stars. Today we were there at the pool. Service was off the charts in every aspect. Servers were fantastic and food was great. Not sure what all that means but I guess worth a shot an hope you get the better servers or get rid of the Saturday night manager?

Worst service ever! Seated outside and never got served. Asked to sit inside and was seated, 20 min later we asked for service. We are owners at Marriott time share. Would never return. The restaurant is beautiful but service not up to par.

Everything was fantastic. Hummus plate, mushroom flatbread and branzino. Service was always available and friendly. Given the amazing views, prices are very reasonable.

Avoid dinner here at all costs. Beautiful location overlooking the ocean and great sunset views. But food is mostly horrible and grossly overpriced. We sat for an hour and a half before anybody paid attention to us, the place is completely chaotic. We went the day before to make reservations and they said no reservations, first come first served. So we came the next day about an hour and a half before sunset and found a bunch of empty tables along the edge overlooking the ocean. They said they were all reserved, even though we were told they don’t take reservations. The entire time we were there, nobody ever took those tables. They finally started serving us an hour and a half later, and had an absolutely wonderful server named Alina, she was terrific. But the food was awful, started with wahoo crudo, for $22. Was the smallest plate of crudo I have ever seen, 3 miniature pieces, less than 1 oz total. Soaked in orange, tasted like citrus. A disgrace that they charged $22 for that, felt like theft. We tried fried snapper as a main course, but they literally just threw a sampler in the deep fryer and put some boiled brussel sprouts next to it. Horrible combination, no taste whatsoever, and they charged $48 for that disaster of a meal. We arrived at 6;44 and didn’t get out until -0 pm. On the plus side, great views, nice live music, and a wonderful server. But some of the worst food I have ever had in my life. Just God awful.

Food is GROSSLY overpriced and average at best. Hotel valet curbed my $1500 wheel.

Previously frozen fish & cold steak! Would not reccomend or eat here again. The fried Snapper was watery & dry inside. The crisp and flavor of outside was good. The Australian strip was ordered Medium-Rare, it was served Medium and cold. The server offered to have it reheated. We stayed at the resort 7 days and breakfast was included every morning at Sirene. We did not return after the first day. Very limited offerings, no menu available. The breakfast offerings included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, Smoked Salmon, and pastries.

I just felt it necessary to leave a review after hearing a woman complaining about the service she received and I’m hoping this finds the right management because she was absolutely not truthful about her experience with Jose. I say this because I was sitting directly behind her. Hearing her rant to management made me so incredibly frustrated so I had to write this. Jose was such an excellent server. I am a server in fine dining myself and I know how difficult it can be to handle and manage customers. Everything came out in an orderly manner and everything was absolutely excellent. We left him a rightfully earned 30% tip and would do it again in a heartbeat. A+ atmosphere and the view was so phenomenal. Thank you Jose!! (Also to give a visual this woman stood next to her table appalled that he hadn’t returned within 90 seconds. Meanwhile he was running a tray of 10 drinks to a large party. The lack of consideration says enough about this woman’s character)

Overcooked Wagyu and poor service. I asked for another steak since my first one was the consistency of jerky. Waitress told me it was probably the “lighting” and Wagyu is a “fattier cut”. Also, have celiac disease and asked for carrots instead of bread with our hummus which we were charged $10 for.

Resturant and view are beautiful. Service was good. Food not so good. Flat bread capress tomatoe sauce tasted like ragu jar sauce. Balsamic glaze too sweet. Mediterranean shrimp with feta sauce also tasted like a jar sauce . Don't plan to return

Canceled my delivery at the last minute now scrambling to figure out what to feed my 3 year old. I get it that everything is busy now. So maybe turn off the delivery option before you screw up peoples evenings.

Large open air rooftop bar and restaurant. Specializes in tapas style, sharable foods. Amazing views of Marriot resort below and Marco Island beach.

Eating outdoors above the beach and pool area at night on a lovely evening was very nice. Greek salad was delicious. Fried whole snapper was not to my liking as I prefer a filet when eating fish. Branzino was tasty.

The food was very plain. The portions were small. The paparadelle was good, a bit lemony. The branzino was two pieces of fish over a couple of slices of sweet potato. It could have used a small bit of a cream sauce perhaps. The Moroccan chicken was ok. For $40+ a meal and very expensive drinks, we were disappointed. I'm sure the view is nice during the day, but at night, there isn't any. Our server was not as attentive as we would have expected, but the hostess saved the day. $165 + tip for a couple.

Good food and atmosphere and view

It's a very unique restaurant. friendly staff,great drinks and delicious food. Dining outside is to die for, the sunset on the golf is an amazing view.

My wife and I went with another couple for drinks, dinner, and the view. The view was fantastic, the drinks seemed weak (especially when you consider the price) and we didn't find anything on the menu that we wanted for dinner so we had appetizers, which were very good.

We ordered a dessert that cost $12 and was about 4-5 bites. Far too tiny and not that good tasting. We sat at the bar and the lighting made the food look an unappealing gray color. Overall not worth the money at all.

We were really disappointed coming to eat here! The view is amazing, but that doesn’t mean you can overcharge!!! Everything on the menu is overpriced for the quality. I would expect these prices at a 5 star restaurant. They also do not take reservations, which being a former hostess I understand is not a good way to accommodate people. If someone was celebrating an important event or bringing in a large party they would risk not being seated!!!

From the second we walked in our hostess Flo was amazing. We told her we were celebrating a mini honeymoon and she went above and beyond for us. She was so sweet and adorable. The waitress we had was Tessa and she was super friendly but gave us our space. This is the only restaurant that is 21 plus and you have amazing views of the sunset. I was blown away. I ordered the key limetini and it was super yummy. My husband ordered a margarita and the chicken wings are to die for. We also had the mezze board. The food is really good I don’t understand why this place has horrible reviews. We came back for apps a second night! Good people good atmosphere overall a great experience!!!
