Super amazing selection of German food! This was my first time here as I was in the area. They pretty much have anything you can think of in German delicacies 🇩🇪🫶My shopping list included Gelbwurst, Liverwurst, Head Cheese, Landjager, variety of sausages, Knorr mixes, pretzels,mustard,Limburger cheese, pierogies and the most amazing Black Forest Cake 🇩🇪🎂. The place is super clean, well organized and the nicest staff ever! Can’t wait to come back!

Wife and I went here to get 2 steaks for her birthday. Buther was a great guy. Helped us out and the steaks were great. We went back and grab a pack of their Bratwurst and they are beyond amazing. We can't wait to go back.

Selection of food is incredible. I've not tried some of the Wurst and Brats yet. Had a great liverwurst sandwich the trout salad is great. Herring in cream sauce is really good. Also had a blood tongue sandwich - or something like that - very interesting and very good.

I own a local farm to table retail meat store called Arlington Meats. I brought my meat to the Alpine to have it turned into hotdogs and sausage. I was incredibly impressed by the cleanliness of the facility, the packaging of the products was also top notch. Over an A++ experience, I hope to do business with them for many years to come.

We love this store. Very friendly. They have the best beef jerky and beef sticks I ever had that are made in house! They also sell Calkins farm's cheese which is incredible.

We were told the restaurant is closed since the pandemic. Would be helpful to update this fact on Googles Map and Web page to avoid long drives for nothing

To the best of my knowledge. It no longer has the restaurant and instead only the deli section of the building is open. That is still the same. The quality is still of high standard and you can also buy their products at the local supermarkets such as, Weis and IGA.

I love that they're selling stuff all over in the local stores and I hope they open the restaurant again because the food was amazing. High quality all around.

Unless there was a recent change the restaurant is shut down, just the deli is open at the same location. Great deli though.

We have been buying food items from these guys since the start of our festival season and the quality is superb. Prices are very fair and the selection is wonderful. I look forward seeing Joe every few weeks with my order. Great Job Guys!!!

I have been buying your bockwurst for probably 30 years and I bought a package the other day and I can tell that the skin is different and the meat is much darker and when you eat it, it is so tough. I don’t know if you changed your recipe or what, but please don’t they’re not as good as they were. Thank you.

Delicious foods, both made in-house and/or ready to be taken home. The staff is both welcoming and helpful. Always willing to explain and educate about their products, with a warm smile. I highly recommend stopping in even if it's just on your way. The first experience is always breathtaking, and I'm sure you find yourself coming back.

If you bring your venison there they smike it for 2.00 a pound. Amazing double smoked. Deli is amazing. They had a great restaurant but can't get help sadly. But if you like great cuts of meat go to the deli fantastic

We've been here for family dinners twice. They have a great selection of beer and great German food. The waitresses are friendly and all dressed in traditional German attire. One of the best restaurants in the surrounding area.

their garman potatoe salad is to die for... closest taste to LH version ever had.... and LH is the best with a totally secret recipe.

We are so hoping this place survives the pandemic. Their store in the meantime has cuts and game meats readily available and unique items. Their sausages are as good as anything we've eaten in Germany, definitely made from recipes they brought here from Europe. This is obvious by the fact that Wegman's carries their products. Hoping the weekly sausage buffet returns so you can try all their different products. The bauerwurst and kranerwurst are outstanding as are their cheddar jalapeno hot dogs. The best item on their menu is their weekly giant "pig knuckle" which is a massive pork hock served with a side of special house "cheesy spätzle". It is a keto diet person's dream. (the knuckle not the spätzle). Even their purple cabbage is fantastic. What a treasure here in Honesdale

Outstanding selection and great staff. As an American born guy with a German girlfriend, it's a great place to have her be able to show me the traditional dishes, flavors, offerings and sausages I've been hearing so much about. It's even better for us to be able to cook them up for dinner. This is a fantastic Oasis of German cuisine and a great place to find hard to find German specialties for kids and heritage as well Danke Schoen ! Great place for German food - house made wurst of all varieties. Menu is extensive and offers something for just about everyone. Thursday night sausage buffet allows you to try out their various wursts so that you can find your favorite. Atmosphere is that of a German tavern. Desserts look delicious, but have never had room to be able to have any.

dropped the car off across the street and was headed for a different restaurant that was closed. so off to The Alpine Haus. warm, quaint and cozy. the reuben with potato salad was delicious, all parts homemade. the pastrami on homemade rye with cole slaw hit the spot. all the other meals that went by looked amazing. id definitely go back. also the deli and shop were clean and impressive.

Great place for authentic German food and atmosphere. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. The restaurant was extremely clean, Bathrooms too. There is plenty of parking and entrance is wheelchair accessible. All of our meals were delicious. The only reason for taking a star away was for the price. A hotdog and fries with a small saucer with applesauce for almost $12 for the kids menu. That's definitely over-priced.

Yearly visit to pick up and enjoy authentic wursts(kreiner,bock,brat,etc.) at home. This is a must stop for my husband. He enjoys trying new & different varieties & this place never disappoints.

Great food, very friendly staff and excellent pricing.They dress in traditional German outfits and decorate like you are visiting the Alps. From the decor to the authentic German food, the Alpine House is a destination that you have to experience! There is also a deli/meat/grocery store attached to the restaurant.

Its was the best of times, it was the wurst of times...(That's a sausage joke). Go for the German specialties; wursts, shnitzles. They have a nice buffet (shortish but adequate) with some choices if you are indecisive. I enjoyed my goulash. Stop by the retail outlet next door and bring some other stuff home for another day.

Despite the crowds, we were seated immediately and ordered our meals in no time at all. Food was magnificent, authentic and of excellent quality. Would certainly recommend and return myself. We ordered dinners, Delmonico Steak and Saurbraten. Finished with German Chocolate Cake and Apple Strudel.

The food is outstanding and the most authentic I have had in a restaurant. The atmosphere is charming and well decorated as well. I got the 30 dollar special, which included an enormous platter of food, soup, bread, pickled head cheese , coffee and desert. I will get several meals from this so it is a great buy! Our waitress however, was less stellar than everything else, she was not engaging nor helpful like the other staff I encountered. She would go away when trying to speak with her, did not mention specials or offer explanations of the menu and was not that pleasant. Had it not been for the one server I would rate this place 5 stars, I do plan on returning when in the area!

We took a little road trip and stopped here for dinner. Amazing meal! I had prime rib and my husband had veal schnitzel. Nicole was our waitress and she is a doll.

with the fall weather, we were all in the mood for some german food, and what better place than the Alpine....we had the sauerbraten platter, the pretzel platter and the leberkaese platter and were not disappointed...great service made for the perfect lunch..

The Alpine has a restaurant and also a deli area. The deli area is a little expensive BUT WELL WORTH IT. The restaurant seems reasonable. Good food, friendly staff, nice environment.

We had planned on eating at the restaurant but it was closed on the Wednesday we visited. Ordered a sandwich (ham and swiss) on rye. It was piled high with meat and was delicious!

While we were a little hesitant about going here sure glad we did. I'm not a vegetarian, but I only eat chicken, turkey and seafood easily found something on the menu. My husband had a steak and said pleasantly surprise at how good it was. Our waitress Jeanette as well as the other waitress' and the 5' adorable hostess could run seminars on the service industry. Been in the industry all my life and these folks are Top Shelf at their Craft! Try it you won't be disappointed!

There is a grocer and deli side and an enclosed restaurant off to one side. The deli has a good selection of sausages, meats, baked goods, and more. We got a bunch of hot sandwiches to go from the restaurant and I’d very highly suggest the Reuben. This is a place we’d visit again.

Best place in the whole world!!!! Service is impeccable! I wish I could share the rice pudding with every person I've ever loved, I cried the first time I tasted it. THE KING LUDWIG STEAK IS SOMETHING SACRED!!! Although one of their delmonicos are a bit more practical and pack just as much flavor. So many delicious imports and incredible sausages.
