Great german food. Menu is not expensive, but what they do is amazing. I don't like sauerkraut, but I love it here. The veal sausage and schnitzel is wonderful!

The food and service was very good.

Completely disappointing. Mama G's on 54th Ave. N is much better. The jaeger sauce is authentic and less than $10 for a schnitzel plate. If you like authentic German food, don't waste your time at German Knodle

WARNING: I went to buy something from this lady whom owns this restaurant and I would like to tell you about my experience. It was an absolute nightmare. I traveled all the way to their location, only to find that they had sold the item I was planning to purchase to someone else, without even bothering to inform me beforehand. This blatant disrespect for my time, effort, and trust is outrageous and entirely unacceptable. Avoid this deceitful and unprofessional woman at all costs, unless you want to end up wasting your time and being severely disappointed!

Hands down, the best currywurst I've had in the US. Potato salad was fantastic as was the home made curry sauce. Just an amazing experience overall. Super friendly service. We found our new spot for German food. Thank you so much.

Went to the Salvador Dali exhibit with my husband and BIL, came across this place on accident!!! Sooo delicious, we cant wait to come back!!

We really enjoyed dinner at the German Knödel! The service was fantastic and the food brought us right back to eating in Germany. Try their Currywurst or schnitzel…it was delicious and completely changed my mind about German curry (I was preciously not a fan). Oh, and the dunkel was really good too!

I was walking down the street after a doctor's appointment in St Pete when the friendliest German woman stopped me and said "you look hungry, come inside for good food" she definitely wasn't lying! If I wasn't in a hurry I could have stayed for hours drinking beer and chatting away!

My husband and I came here a few months after it's opening. Back then it was great! Great food, atmosphere, service. We just went today, and it was nothing like what it used to be. No veal anymore which drastically shrank the menu. The meals we got were dry, and bland. Potato salad, curry schnitzel, and vienna schnitzel I don't know what happened over the past few months, but it's not as good as it once was. das tut mir leid

Great Schnitzels and Sausages, especially the Currywurst! This is a very small restaurant with a limited menu, but the food is truly delicious (and dare I say "authentic"!) The potato salad is very German (no mayo) and the fries are crispy. Our group teaches about the sauerkraut! We'll be back when we're in the neighborhood.

We will go 20 minutes out of our way for Knoodle. One of my absolute favorites. Everybody's German. And the sausages are to die for. But the real hidden gem? The Vegan Curry Sausage and Vegan Mushroom Sausage. No lie. Our standard order is one of each.

Authentic food and the best nicest service around!!

We were having a runaway play day and went to downtown Saint Pete and there’s so many options down there but when we saw the German restaurant, we had to dive in. We have been missing German food. I had the bratwurst with Kraut and German potato salad. Potato salad was interesting. It wasn’t warm with bacon. It was cold with onion and vinegar flavor and it was absolutely fabulous. The Sauerkraut was very flavorful. It wasn’t as sour as I had growing up, but it was darker and had different flavoring added to it

Tried the Jager Schnitzel, Goulash, and Curry Bratwurst with potato salad on the side. Really love the mushroom sauce topped on the Jager Schnitzel. And so is the sauerkraut which so flavorful! Beef goulash is very tender but personally I would prefer if the soup a bit more soupy instead of thickness that we had.

Some of the best German I've had in the United States. The sauerkraut has a little Zing to it. The currywurst is their own house made specialty and the Pommes frites are hands down the best.

Authentic German food & lots of vegetarian/vegan options. Food is amazing and the service is incredible as well. We love coming here for lunch!

Our experience here was mediocre. It was neither bad nor great, just middle of the road. We prefer some other German restaurants in the Tampa metro area.

I just can't recommend this place. Snitzel was only available in pork. It was a little tough, a little dry and tasteless. We neither liked the way they prepared kraut. It wasn't eaten.

2024 Same amazing all round. It's one of those places you often remember and wish it was closer to home. 2021 Fantastic food and service. The only thing I could possibly criticize is the portions are a little weird. Way too much meat, not enough side. The fries are otherworldly. The German beers are the cleanest I've ever tasted. Our server was wonderful. Prices reasonable. Inside and outside seating. 100% will be back

We were walking up Central Avenue looking for a place to eat and found the German Knodle. I have family that lives in Germany, so I’m always on the lookout for a good German restaurant in town. We had to give this place a try. We were seated right away by the owner, she was so friendly! I even got it practice my German with her. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the wonderful weather. The place is simply decorated, but has delicious food. I tried their ‘Vienna Schnitzel’ and it was delicious. My fiancé tried their ‘Jager Schnitzel’ and thoroughly enjoyed it. We both tried their potato salad as a side, and it was delicious. We loved the raw onion in there! We enjoyed some German beer along side our meal. The service was quick and friendly. The place was super clean too. The next time we’re in St. Pete we will definitely be back. Highly recommend the German Knodle as a place to enjoy some good German food and beer! @living.with.reg

My bride & I, while spending the day in St Pete, happened upon this cute place and decided give it a try! Great choice all around! We sat outside (beautiful, warm, sunny afternoon) and enjoyed a wonderful late and very tasty lunch. The gal, who waited on us & also cooks, was wonderful. A great dark German beer and delectable German food and a beautiful German server/cook/conversationalist made Valentines Day 2024 an absolutely great day. This place is highly recommended by both my bride and I!

Nice little gem in the downtown area of St.Pete, saw the place and decided to try it, good choice, the service was excellent, and the food very good, I had the schnitzel and my daughter the sausage, both were very well done , liked the place and will return next time am in town.

Very authentic and delicious German food. Extensive options of different traditional German sausages on the menu and schnitzel that is pounded fresh each day. Even the sides for potatoe salad, sauerkraut, and fries are killer. Good variety of traditional German beers also. The employees are German so you know it’s gonna be good! Very nice an ambient outside area as well.

Hubs and I restaurant hopped last night at four places on central. At each we ordered at least one plate. Here we ordered the weisswurst and currywurst with sides of saurkraut and potato salad. My hubs used to live in Germany so was really keen to try this place. The weisswurst was very good and for this we'd return. It is cooked on a grill not the traditional in water but I liked this even better and they take the time to tell you that before you order. Service was a little slow, it seemed like they had a single person servicing all tables so we didn't mind and in general it was a beautiful night to sit outside. Only downside here was a table right next to us was continously smoking and we never care for that but I think we could have moved and didn't so that's on us.

Sausages, pretzel, sauerkraut were great. French fries might be best in the world. Beer selection was good but limited, wish they had much more options but its ok cuz id come back just for the food. Service was friendly and quick, we enjoyed everything and hope they stay in business for a long long time! Prost!

I live in downtown st Pete and have walked past this place 100 times without trying it because I typically go for Asian or Italian.Babsi is the owner and was waiting and cooking for us and she gave us an awesome German experience here in st Pete. Food was really good to I will come back

I spend a lot of time all throughout Germany and know a lot of great German cooks.Schnitzel was terrible, sauerkraut was fantastic! Goulash was fantastic! Beers at awesome! Sausages good. Server was very nice! They should try way harder on the schnitzel! They can’t do a bratwurst on a crusty hard roll with hot German mustard and that’s what I wanted.

Used to be one of our favorite places. What happened to the fries? They used to be garlicky and great but just got them tonight and they taste like generic frozen fries with no seasoning/flavor Jaeger gravy has no flavor beyond the canned mushrooms. Also used to be one of our favorites. Maybe an off night?

They could get a little more involved with different dishes and maybe expand the beer choices or change them up. For example, weisswurst can come in a pot served with mustard on the side. They aren't doing that. Service was excellent however.

Late lunch so no crowd. Wonderful! Although it was after 2, the complete menu was available and the service was wonderful. Mixed 2 sausages along with sides for a delicious meal. Truly authentic German sausages.

Just had lunch here and i got the charcuterie. It was delicious and looked so cool!!! German chocolate cake is my favorite dessert and they did not disappoint! Our server was a very nice lady who made the meal enjoyable! Highly recommend!

I cannot rave enough about this place! My go to order in the schnitzel with potato salad on the side and my God is their potato salad delicious as heck! For the schnitzel I usually get Jager but this last time I got the curry and holy wow, SO good! Oh and the black forrest cake muah, delicous! They have an amazing selection of German beer and wine too so don'delicious! Plenty of seating inside and out and the service is always top notch! You will not be disappointed!

Delicious German food! The Kraut wasn't soggy like most sauerkraut you find places, it was very flavorful too. The German potato salad was very nicely flavored as well. Very unique flavor and all very pleasant to the senses to taste. The schnitzel was perfectly cooked and crispy, topped with I think a broth gray which was seasoned pleasantly. Pleasant, is the word I would use to describe all the food here 😋

Love the vegan currywurst! The owner here is just a delight and treats everyone like they are welcome in her tiny home. She even patiently lets us practice our (inept but well-intentioned) German with her. The side dishes are wonderful as well, and she'll make a custom Radler for you if you ask (lemonade + beer). We've been a couple times and will enjoy many more visits!

I can’t overstate how good this place is. Aside from being on Yelp’s 2020 “Top 100 places in the country to eat”, they have maybe the best schnitzel I’ve had outside Germany. Two German beers on tap at all times (one light and one dark) and maybe the best fries in downtown. Prices are reasonable and everything is great!

Awesome basic German fare. Service was excellent and fantastic German beer selection! The location is in the very cool Central ave area which is always interesting scene. A little concerned about all the high rise construction in the area.

The food was totally over fried, the salad was marginal and soggy The schnitzel was tasteless, deep fried, no bread and a bad wine selection.

We just walked in and waited about 10 minutes for anyone to come out to seat us, but no one ever came out. There was one guy working in the kitchen. I kept trying to holler to him but he just ignored me so we left.
