It was a good friend that recommended this restaurant and we finally were able to try it. I watched as they made fresh 🍔 pattied hamburgers. We tried the burger with collasal shrimp, which they were, onions, onion rings, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese and old bay. The food was amazing!! The shrimp was not over cooked, which is a huge plus in my book!!

Great restaurant, hidden away in Pembroke NC. Somewhat hard to find if you don't know about it as it is hidden inside Native Angels. They have a good menu with losts of options mostly around brisket or burgers. You can actually walk in from a back door connected to the restaurant instead of having to go through the main building.

The food was perfect! First time dining at this restaurant and the food was amazing! I will be coming back soon! The cleanliness and customer service satisfaction was superb!

2nd time here and had the executive burger with a side salad. Omg!!! Amazing, and the sweet tea is the best (I need a gallon) love the vibe here. The ladies working was very pleasant and love the conversation.

I can’t begin to describe how happy I am to report my experience at this restaurant. I’m new to the area and I always like to try new places. I came in here to find some real genuine people. I also found some of the BEST food I’ve ever had. The whiting fish plate was so. dang. good. The flavor, it was cooked perfectly, and the service was absolutely phenomenal. From one foodie to another, please bless your tastebuds with this food.

The governors place is truly a great place to eat. It is veteran owned great food, great friendly staff, and awesome chef. They make you feel at home. The chef will come out and greet his customers and make sure everything is good. You don’t find places like this anywhere else that truly takes care of his customers.

The food is amazing. The portions are insane. Best crabcake I have ever had. Filet cooked perfectly. This man does it RIGHT! Definitely check out the Governor.

The jerk chicken plate that The Governor recently put out went above and beyond what most would expect from a “plate sale”. The chicken was so juicy and fell for the bone with the perfect amount of spice for a Jerk Chicken. The rice and beans were amazing, and the fried cabbage was perfect in every way. The rum cake he made with the glaze was with out a doubt one of the best ever. It was a perfect mixture with out an over powering rum flavor. It was just perfect, as well as the added touch of the sugar crisp crust on it - set it aside from most cakes. If you missed this plate sale, don’t miss out on the next one.

When you eat food made by The Governor Place, you get food made with heart and soul. Every bite takes you on an adventure and leaves you yearning for more and yet you feel completely satisfied all at once.

I loved my experience with the Governor Place! He made a great cake for my family. It tasted wonderful, was packaged professionally, and looked just as great as it tasted! His prices are very reasonable too. I look forward to my next experience with the Governor Place!

He never turns down a request, the random last minute decisions of wanting something particular. The chicken noodle soup is to die for, let’s not forget the cakes. The cakes are some of the most delicious cakes I’ve ever tasted. This man can cook, bake, he does it all. You won’t be disappointed!

The chef help me surprise my husband with a private in home birthday dinner. He listen to the things I told him that my husband likes to eat and he delivered a phenomenal dinner experience. The chef was on time to start his preparations. My husband and I pretended as though we were going out on a date. We stayed in our room, got ready, and pregamed. The dinner service was to start at 5:30 and we made our way to our dining room at 5:26. And like clockwork the chef brought out our salad. He had laid out 2 place setting, a nice centerpiece and 2 candles. Midway through our salads he brought out some bread with his signature butter. He then clarified with us how we would like our lamb prepared. While he was preparing our entrees I got way too full on the bread and butter. Then came the entrees and finally dessert. The service never felt rushed. His service was outstanding and his food was delicious. I highly recommend his services. My husband and I are already planning our next date night in!

Affordable, professional, reliable, and most importantly great food. You can tell that the Governor takes pride in what he does.

We used Chef Antonio and The Govenor Place for catering for a surprise birthday. Chef Antonio was very professional and went above and beyond for us. The food was absolutely amazing. He was very responsive and communicated beautifully from day one until the day of the event. We will definitely be using him again for our future events.

I have had Mr Vincent food on several occasions and there's not one thing that I had that wasn't awesome. After my mom passed away I was missing her lasagna and omg Mr Vincent's was amazing. I tried to eat my way into a coma lol.

I am here to review the owner/founder of The Governor Place. I have about 11 years of knowledge with him and I can assure you this wonderful man is a man of his words. He has a great heart and impeccable palate. I wish you many years of success and happiness. Can’t wait to come out and try the Gumbo.

Great food no matter what you are looking for. I dont even like slaw and his BBQ slaw is to die for.

Ordered a coconut pie and it was delicious!! His food tastes as good as it looks, and his prices are reasonable. I recommend everyone to try out anything that he has to offer, this guy isn't just a chef he's a food artist👍👍

Great owner and Amazing food! The 3-layer coconut cake is OUT OF THIS WORLD! My family can't wait to place future orders with The Governor Place!! 10/10 recommend!!
