Delightful little restaurant with delicious food! The avocado Benedict is GREAT and the breakfast potatoes are the best in town! Highly recommend!

Best breakfast in San Marcos. Steak and eggs Benedict is the bomb!!!!

We had a great brunch on the patio today! We loved that it was dog friendly and the service was great! We had the avocado toast Benedict which was absolutely delicious and a pancake which was huge and also very good. We will definitely come back to try out more!

Don't let the exterior appearance fool you. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the food was fantastic. I live in Houston, but I will absolutely be back next time I am in the San Marcos area.

You could easily pass this place up bc it is in an office park but it is a great place for breakfast or lunch. It has a cool retro 60’s/70’s decor. The service was great and the food yummy. I had the Buddha Bowl with grilled chicken.

My daughter found this place on line. We were visiting San Marcos. Our breakfast was outstanding!!! Such a cute place. Coffee is delicious!

This place is small, yet delightful. There's inside and outside seating. We visited on a Monday afternoon and were pleased with our experience. The food was fresh, well presented and the server friendly. She kept our drinks filled and made sure we had everything we needed. My toddler is picky about his eggs and doesn't really like pancakes, but he loved the eggs, pancakes and fruit. My husband and I had steak and eggs Benedict and it was delicious (comes with two eggs Benedict, pictured is only 1). My daughter loved her Tropical Dream smoothie. We will definitely return when we're in the area again.

Breakfast was very good. Good strong coffee. Portions were very good.

Why is this place not jampacked? Why wait @Kirby Lane? Root Cellar? Don’t miss it-so fresh& consistently 💯, don’t be fooled by the parking lot/warehouse look. . Shop local!! Eat fresh!!

Fantastic food and even better service !

Banana cream French toast: the brulee on the banana was expert level and the cream and flavor layers were masterful. However, they used basic grocery store white bread as the base of the dish instead of the expected day old French bread cut a bit on the thiccc side. A real bummer given all the extra effort put into the rest of the dish. Still strongly recommend though.

Went here because of the decent reviews, and were met with great service but mediocre food. Ordered a frittata, peanut butter bites, kids pancakes (which came out with a huge bowl of fruit which we ended up sharing), and an avocado toast Benedict. The Benedict came out cold and the hollandaise sauce had no flavor, and was runny rather than creamy. The frittata came out hot and was tasty but the texture was a bit tough and overcooked. For the prices I was expecting more.

It's okay. Kinda over priced for my budget. I will say that their pancakes are delicious! And their mimosas are spot on! The waitress was great too! She took care of us promptly. But it will prolly be another year before I come back due to prices.

Delicious fresh food. If you don’t know it’s there you’ll probably miss this gem like we did for the last year +. So glad we finally stopped by. Had the Cobb salad and pesto chicken sandwich with a side salad. No complaints at all.

It's easy to miss this place driving by, but well worth stopping in. Super chill atmosphere and fantastic breakfast. It felt like visiting a friend's house and having them cook breakfast for you. Highly recommend. 👌

What great little diner with a small-town feel. You can't tell from the outside, but it's cozy and tastefully decorated on the inside. Oh, and the food is delicious!

Hidden gem! If you like hand crafted food, entrees with flare and flavor, you need try this eatery. Cozy atmosphere; great date night option where music creates the ambience. First time visitors, my husband and I were greeted immediately and promptly seated. Our server present the menu options for the day and oh man, are these dishes over and above franchise foods. Our drinks were a wee bit slow, but the attentive staff really enhancee the dining experience. I ordered the grilled shrimp, rissoto & mash potatoes, my husband had cornish hens- the presentation; the flavor and overall dining experience- all amazing!

This place is awesome! It was my first time coming in and the staff was welcoming and super helpful. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and it did not disappoint. Probably one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. I will definitely be back to try breakfast. 😊

I went in and Riley was my server! She was amazing and made the atmosphere feel very welcoming! I got the quesadillas with potato skillet and it was bomb! Super cool spot, I would highly recommend!

We've been to the groove several times in the last 2 months. Each time I've eaten something different and each time I've been so impressed with the food and service. My favorite breakfast item is the breakfast sandwhich! Highly recommend to anyone looking for brunch or lunch, hopefully they have dinner service soon!

The Groove is such a great place. The atmosphere is so peaceful and welcoming. Very clean and well organized to enjoy your meal and a conversation with the perfect spacing between other guest. I had the corn beef hash and their twist on their dish was so tasty and healthy. Enjoyed it very much. Let’s not forget about the customer service, top notch. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable about their menu. This menu is a must try and visit. The Chef has done an excellent job in creating this menu, I can’t wait to go back and to try more things, as everything sounds so tasty. Overall an excellent San Marcos staple. SM

They advertised chicken noodle soup and the photo showed chicken, carrots and broth. What I got was a bowl of spiral Pasta and carrots, literally 1 tablespoon of ground up chicken!!! Horrible!!! When I called to speak to manager, it went to voicemail and said, no voicemail set up, and hung up! I won't ever order from here again! $16 delivered

Such a great spot! A couple of highlights: great patio, wonderful and kind waitstaff, high chairs available, incredibly fresh food, generous portion sizes, thick cut bacon, great variety of fruit and sides, interesting flavors, coffee and smoothies available!

I ate lunch with a friend there a few months ago, maybe August '23. I ordered a Rueben. It was made up of tasteless cold bread and cold lunchmeat. Very disappointing. The staff should visit the Red Bud Cafe in Blanco Tx to find out what a Rueben is supposed to look and taste like.

Finally stopped in! Breakfast was delicious! We had the Groovy Breakfast Plate, Strawberry and Cream French Toast, bacon egg cheese and potato egg cheese tacos! 🍴😋👍

Really glad to have discovered this place. Nice ambiance and interior, friendly waitress. We went for dinner and tried two different bowls and the meatloaf. Food was healthy, fresh and very good but not perfect, as a few other reviews have mentioned. I still look forward to trying them out for breakfast!

While I don't normally take the time to post reviews (read: never), I had to make an exception based on the phenomenal service we received at The Groove during their lunch service recently. Our server Aleena was sharp, attentive, and efficient, which made our dining experience delightful. The food was also great.

I'm not impressed with this restaurant after trying it for the first time recently. The food is mediocre, and the prices are high. From the menu I ordered a soup and mixed berry salad. Was delivered a garden salad and told the mixed berry salad is not offered with the soup combo. Really? Then you might want to correct your menu which states either salad is offered. I was charged $13 for half a small glass of sangria. There are hundreds of local eateries that are better options.

Oh my yum! Veggie wrap and jerk chicken bowl are fabulous. I love finding hidden gems cafes. This is one! Try it. You'll like it. 👍

Food is fresh and delicious. Service is superior. Atmosphere enjoyable. Portions are large. The Banana Cream Pie French Toast was perfect, and enough for 2 people. I ordered Garden Bowl with chicken and can't say enough good things about it. Will definitely go back when passing through San Marcos again. Wish they were open longer.

Breakfast Sunday afternoon that was great side of EXCELLENT service. If you are thinking about it, just go. You won’t regret it!

Hidden gem in San Marcos! Highly Recommended!

We always like to find small local joints to try out the food. This one did not disappoint. Emily was our server and she was wonderful. The decor and atmosphere are very chill. We had the hummus to start. It was, hands down, the best hummus I’ve ever had. It was a garlic hummus with pistachios on top. We both had the fruit salad and soup. The salad was a delicious, refreshing bowl of spinach, blueberries, Strawberries and raspberries. Topped with goat cheese and candied walnuts. But the best part was the homemade raspberry vinaigrette. Lastly, was the chicken and dumplings broth. Immediately I noticed that the chef took the time to slightly sear the chicken before putting it in the soup. They always say you eat with your eyes first. Next the dumplings were homemade not biscuits from a can. Even though it was a hot, July afternoon the soup went down well. Incredible flavor. What a great place. I’m so glad we stopped.

Love this place.. healthy food done right

Me and my gf just tried this place and we will absolutely be going back. We went for brunch and the dishes we ordered (fritatta and smoked salmon benedict) were literal perfection. The service was top notch and we definitely enjoyed the cool laid back ambience of the restaurant itself. Great food, great music, great service... 5 stars is an easy rating for the groove!

Cute place! Food was okay, chicken was a little over cooked or something? But still recommend for a healthy quick bite in a groovy local atmosphere.

So happy we found this place, it has become our favorite breakfast spot. The food is amazing, haven't had anything I didn't like. The breakfast sandwich is hands down my favorite though. The staff are so great and super friendly. The whole place is chill and inviting and we love the healthier options.

The best and freshest food I have tasted in a long while. This is probably one of the most underrated restaurants that I’ve ever been to. The Steak tacos were amazing. My wife had a Veggie Frittata that had so much flavor. Call ahead and make a reservation, it’s worth it!

They've got a cozy dining area which is nice and bright, the folks inside seemed to enjoy it. The restaurant has covered tables out front so I ate there. I got the Philly cheese steak and for $18ish with tip I guess I was expecting a more substantial sandwich. That being said the flavors were quite good. The meat tasted marinated, veggies were good and I liked the jalapeño in it, nice little kick of spice. Staff was super friendly and I wouldn't rule out eating there again.

I just want to say something about this cafe. I have never eaten here before. I've only brought orders to this lady by the name of Emily. I'm sure she is the owner. The times I have brought her delivery orders. She has been very unfriendly and no professionalism. As an owner you would think she would be more professional and courteous. Everytime I would go in she wouldn't greet me. I had brought an order in this morning and I said good morning. She didn't even respond back with a greeting or a smile. I would never give her my business. Sorry!!!!

I heard the head chef broke his elbow and has to work the front. Honestly a shame, because if the second chef is pushing out this incredible food then I can only imagine what they could do full go. We ordered the breakfast sandwich, two different tacos, and eggs benedict. All really great. Cool environment and friendly staff. A+ work.

Atmosphere: Light, open local bakery cafe. Food: Beautifully delicious! The Avocado toast Benedict was next level, with perfectly poached eggs and fresh hollandaise. The cinnamon roll was exactly the way they’re meant to be, decadent with plenty of cinnamon butter and gooey frosting. Mom loved the budda bowl, well seasoned, with load of moist chicken, spinach and bean studded rice. Service: Welcoming and pleasant, and checked on us without being obtrusive. Pricing: Moderate $39.00 for all listed with drinks.

After driving by the non-descript building hundreds of times, we stopped in today and had one of the tastiest, flavor-filled breakfast ever! Clean, fresh, casual atmosphere with easy-listening classic rock. Server Emily was sweet and talkative. The best kept secret in San Marcos! Go there!!! Great recommendation from us!

I've only tried the peanut butter balls but from those three nuggets of amazingness I can tell the menu will be legit. Going back for lunch very soon. The staff is super friendly and the aesthetic is right up my alley. San Marcos needs a joint like this.

The Groove was exactly what I expected! The atmosphere was relaxing (we sat outside), the ambiance inside was great and the food didn’t give me any guilt afterwards! If you are looking for a healthy option,visit the Groove!

I had a salad with grilled chicken. The severing size and presentation was perfect but, I must add the shredded cheese tasted spoiled. And the chicken was cold and tasted pre cooked the day before. It would of been better to have a fresh hot grilled chicken.

We were surprised at how cute this little place turned out to be. Friendly and fun atmosphere. The food was good, but eggs Benedict served on paper in a tray was messy and unappealing. I ordered a large mocha. The proportions were way off and the milk was not aerated. It was no good, but I suspect that the server just hadn't been trained yet.

The Groove is a phenomenal resteraunt. Easily accessible from the road and easy parking. Once inside you're greeted with a smile and if you have any questions the staff are more than willing to help. They have a menu behind the counter on a blackboard and also laminated menus with more details of their selection. The quality of the food was incredible. My girlfriend and I shared the avacodo toast. A generous portion of toast cut in half with two eggs on both sides. Their water was refreshing and their coffee was delightful and tasty. Seating was very easy whether you'd prefer inside or outside on a nice day like today. Overall, The Groove has amazing food quality, portions, prices, and service. Amazing!
