Literally lived in the area for 5 years and didn't know about this place. Awesome awesome awesome. Not expensive. Super fun great night out. Wings, steak, burger top notch. Will definitely be back for some Italian. Fantastic place! They are doing it right! Love the way they support local and have a top notch dining experience. Can't wait to come back.

Had the Best time last night. Carly the owner greeted me at the door with a warm welcome. From there on it it felt like home. With everyone singing happy birthday to a dad and his family. Place was pack we got luck to get a seat. Had their signature pie was phenomenal. The monkfish over angel hair with a piccata sauce and fresh vegetables was on the money. Will be going back no doubt!!!

Been trying to get in here for months and finally got a seat last Saturday. Had the most delicious chicken Parmesan ever, the most friendly waitress Megan, and they played a lot of Skynyrd! Can’t go wrong. We’ll be back real soon!!!

It was our first family dinner there and all of us loved our food . Friendly and quick service and great prices for the quality and size of food served . We will definitely be back .

I’ve heard about this place for a while and finally met with a friend to try it out. It’s an active place popular with locals it seems. Parking is in the rear in the side and maybe across the street . Gets fairly crowded by 1:30 .. My friend had the special fried chicken sandwich which he liked a lot. He did think the fries were as good as elsewhere. My wrap was okay not terrific but okay. Being on a low fat diet there was little that didn’t have cheese , bacon or fried on the menu . My suggestion is they need to consider that . I’d say try it !

Let me start off by saying that this restaurant has one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life, and they absolutely deserved winning top spot, it has made it incredibly difficult to order anything else off the menu. The prices are fair and you absolutely get what you pay for, the patron that rated it one star must be a regular at Domino’s or Wawa for their pizza. Restaurants don’t normally have free WiFi so they must have been upset that they couldn’t post their food on instagram and had to opt to have conversation with someone that isn’t on their phone. We haven’t had a a single bad thing off this menu and the service is always quick, and kind. 11/10 highly recommend!

Been here a few times for both dine in and take out and have never had a bad meal. From personal pizza to steak always enjoy the flavor of the food here, highly recommended.

Good steaks and burgers. This place is really getting a reputation in this area for those items. Thus last time we shared the pizza special which had pork, fried plantains, jalapeños and fritos with 2 different sauces. Sounded odd, but was the best pizza we'd had here in a while.

Quite possibly the best kept burger secret in New Jersey! If you think you have your #1 burger spot locked up (White Manna, Krugs, Rossi's, Rocky Hill, Steve's, Blue Monkey, Stage Left, Committed Pig, Burger 25, etc.) think again. Take a trip here for lunch on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon order the smash burger and a beer and see if that all changes.

I’ve had food from The Little York twice recently. The first time I had a smash burger and sat by myself at the bar. The burger was awesome and the servers were very friendly, so I was excited to try another meal. This time I picked up a chicken parm and fries to-go. I’m sure the to-go element of the dinner caused some of the problem, but the food was not kept warm at all and the sandwich really creeped me out. It was a gigantic, barely breaded piece of rubbery chicken. In my opinion, chicken parm should be made with thinly pounded, tender cutlets that are battered, fried and very crispy. This was the opposite of that. Anyway, the burger was so good that I’ll go back for that, but I would never get the chicken parm or any other chicken dish. On a separate note, the restaurant does not share their WiFi password with patrons and there’s virtually no cell reception. In 2023 you cannot have a bar in an area with barely any phone service, like Little York, and not have WiFi available to customers. Not a particularly welcoming or safe policy. Update 3 Months Later: Downgrading my review to 1 star. Ordered a large pie half plain, half pepperoni, well-done. Was awful. Bland, greasy and very expensive. I asked for a well-done pie and it tasted as though it was nearly raw dough that was cooked in a microwave. All of the cheese was separating under pools of grease, the sauce had no flavor at all and the whole thing was essentially uncooked. I will not be going back to the Little York again.

Reasonably priced, great food. Be prepared to wait a bit for a table, but the drinks are good and it's worth the wait.

Steaks, Smash Burgers, & Pizza are exceptional. Service is top notch. All servers are personable and very friendly. A very hometown business with great eats. 2024, My hometown is Elizabeth, NJ.We had some of the best Italian food. Staten Island, The City, etc The spaghetti, meatballs, sausage, etc. Is some of the best I've ever had! Truth and.they don't even brag about their gravy! It's apparent with their excellent pizza. Give this comfort food spaghetti, homemade meatballs! You'll thank me

Locally sourced meat, the owner is a butcher. Never had anything bad from pizza to several off their specials menu. Super friendly staff too.

Food is always amazing, have to try the wings. Pizza, Burgers are consistently great as is the pizza. Always keep an eye out for the specials. Also notice that they fry their French Fries in Tallow which is awesome!!!

Was a private party, place was packed and buzzing. Tough to find parking. Food and service, always great.

Have never had a bad meal at the Little York. In fact, we like them so much that we get catering sides for Thanksgiving and Christmas there the past two years. We have gotten meatballs - don’t get them warmed up. I stopped several times to eat a meatball on the way home. In addition we have gotten the lasagna and penne vodka. One request that they probably don’t get very often for catering was their dessert. The chocolate strawberry shortcake is one of the best.

This past weekend we hosted my baby shower at the Little York and I couldn’t have been any happier! The staff was phenomenal! Carly was so easy to work out all the details with. She was very quick and responsive with all my questions. I wasn’t stressed about anything. I left the food decisions up to Carly and her husband and they did not disappoint! Everyone, and I really mean everyone talked about how amazing the food was. The team even went out of their way and even made caramel apples! I honestly could go on and on about the food. When it comes to the staff who worked the event, Melissa and Mikah were absolutely amazing. From drink service to keeping the tables bussed and free of old food plates, they were on top of it. Thank you so much to the whole Little York team for making my baby shower a success!!!! I couldn’t have asked for a smoother, easier event from start to finish.

I haven't been to the Little York in a while and am sorry I've missed it. My friend said it was the Best Smash burger, ever to die for Brussel Sprout salad and my Steak even though not the special Dry aged, was exceptional. I can't even imagine how good the Dry aged steak would have been.

Been here a few times and I can’t say enough nice things. Friendly friendly service. The owner walks around to make sure customers are satisfied. The staff is prompt and polite. The food is local, always fresh and prepared well. You can get local beer here, including seasonal beers. It’s exactly what you hope for when you go out to eat and want to have a nice time.

The Little York is unbelievably good. My husband and I tried the broccoli cheddar soup, buffalo wings, a steak for him, and a smashburger for me, and we just could not believe how good everything was. Quite possibly the best burger I’ve ever had. And the prices are great, and the servers were all so kind and friendly! We will definitely be back.

Such a fun, local atmosphere! Mind-numbingly good 22oz ribeye special that rivaled some of the pricier dry ages I've had in Boston and NYC. Fries are also really *really* good. Everyone left happy and full!

Fantastic food and decent brews on tap. Great place in the hills of Hunterdon county. Make sure you make reservations or go at an off hour. This place gets packed.

The food is very good. Service is exceptional. The staff makes you feel at home, and they went out of their way for me to get an order to go together even though their kitchen had just closed. I also liked the atmosphere and will return when I have more time for a sit down experience

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. I've been the a few times and was always VERY good, but this time I had the onion smash burger. OMG!! It was the best burger I ever had. The staff is great. The owner is awesome. An over all amazing experience!! Perfect!! Whenever I'm in NJ, I will being coming back...everytime!!

We’re local and selfishly hate to promote Little York only because we don’t want it to get overcrowded. But the menu and food quality are outstanding. Excellent local tavern food and drink. Carly is on the floor always smiling and that shows through their helpful staff. Don’t go there. Stay home.

This last weekend was my brother birthday and we decided to order from The Little York and we were very pleased with our food! It was so delicious I don’t think anyone had leftovers! My brother, Fiancé and I went to pick up our order and we sat at the bar for a drink, the staff was awesome! They recommended one of their special drinks and I can’t remember the name but it was AMAZING and REFRESHING!! We will definitely be back!

Everything we ate here was phenomenal! Highly recommend the smash burger, chicken parm (switch to vodka sauce - you won’t regret it), and their marg pizza. Still dreaming of that chicken parm till today

This is one of the best places to go in the area. Great pizza as well as entrees. Some of the best staff I've ever met anywhere and always a great time! The burgers, both smash and regular, are the best! If you're ever there for the rodeo burger special, I highly recommend. May be the best burger I've ever eaten!!

UPDATE: we've returned many times since the original review and continue to be enthralled by the variety of options, new charming decor and fabulous gluten free. The smash burger is not to be missed! And the ribeye is to die for. The Little York is a slice of paradise. Freshly butchered and aged steaks, fish hand selected by a former NYC fish monger, and all of the flavors you'd expect in a five star restaurant nestled in this beautiful community. Dining outdoors or inside. Great drinks, and super friendly service. The charming owners and chef are also very well versed in gluten free options and food allergens. Great local place with fabulous food.

All the food was great, super friendly service and it was relatively cheap as well. This place is worth the drive! The grilled chicken wings were the only part of the visit that wasn’t fantastic. The skin was a bit rubbery but flavor was on point. The rest of the meal was 10/10.

Excellent place, great vibe and Carly was amazing, she was not only attentive to our needs, but she had a beautiful smile the entire time doing so. It’s hard to find a place where they appreciate their customers, and she did just that and then some. The food was outstanding! We will definitely be back.

First time visit 06/17- Jess was our server and a complete rockstar. The four of us enjoyed the mozzarella sticks, battered onion rings which were beyond perfect. Entree's of Chicken parm, Francese, Marsala, fettucine alfredo with grilled chicken and all was beyond perfection. Cheesecake was had for dessert, thick, dense and tasty. Will definitely be back

Update, 1 year later: Still one of our favorite local spots! Always new menu items, lots of Italian inspirations, fresh local produce and meats. Today we had a dessert we'd never heard of and it was to die for; a berry posset. It's always a real treat going to The Little York, no matter how often we go. This was our first time here and Little York did not disappoint! The wings were some of the best we've ever had. Great atmosphere and very friendly service.

Travel Nurse and wife here passed through With our camper last fall and found this little gem! Mountain View campground is amazing and he recommended The Little York Tavern. The best ribeye ever! We were heading back north back to Maine for the summer and drove 700 miles to make it here just before closing to get this meal again! The owners wife and bar tender “Mel” remembered us and our story from 6 months ago! Great atmosphere and people in this same town of Milford, NJ. Even if it’s not on your way take a side trip and stop in, you won’t be disappointed!

First time there. It was a perfect evening. It was newly renovated and spotless. Steaks were delicious and service was excellent. We finished dinner, moved over to the bar and drinks were excellent. Staff was so nice!

Poor selection of appetizers , no calamari , no steamers , very limited. Only saving grace was the Ribeye Steak. Ordered a Double Knob Creek , was lucky if it was 50ml , no where near a DOUBLE. May go back , undecided.

It has been a long time since I visited the Little York. Wow, is it fantastic! The food, the service, the people. Try a Ribeye. Their steaks are better than most "Steak Houses". They have an assortment of local beer on tap. The staff and bar tenders are delightful.

What an experience! This restaurant was JAM packed with such fantastic staff! My best friend and I came in to this restaurant for some drinks on a Friday night and they did NOT disappoint! We were able to get seats at the bar pretty quickly and had a view of the team doing the most! The love that poured out of the kitchen was evident. The staff was all smiles and it felt welcoming consistently through our experience. We took a moment to try a couple of their deserts as well. Their ice cream sandwiches are next level… they make it all from scratch and you can TASTE the love they put into everything they make! The cookie was crisp at the edges but chewy in the middle. It was the perfect consistency to enjoy with a generous dollop of vanilla ice cream! They also had an impressive (or should i say espresso-sive) espresso cake. The plate was garnished a way you wouldn’t expect from a small town spot! They really raise the bar here with expectations! Looking around, you could tell everyone felt right at home. Restaurant was beautifully lit and the noise level was assuring that everyone was having a blast. I’m thankful for my experience here and you BET my best friend and i will be back! (Seriously don’t sleep on their deserts! There’s ALWAYS room!!!!)

The Little York serves a range of food making sure everyone at your table is happy. They are best known for their Italian offerings. I had the jumbo mussels daily special. What a great plate! The Rachel bar pie was very good but perhaps the crust was a little wimpy for the generous toppings. This place is extremely popular with the locals. No reservations taken. If you're not there early expect a 45 minute wait for a table. Have a seat at the bar, order a drink and chill!

I really enjoy their smashburger! However this trip I tried the smashburger in a wrap which is called a crunchwrap. It was as good as the burger without all the bread. They also gave me veggies on the side instead of french fries.

It has everything I look for in a local inn. Cleanliness, atmosphere, great food and service, attentive employees and great prices.

For a small town place it is beautiful and spacious. The food was great, I had a garlic chicken sandwich with French fries (which were fantastic) and my daughter had chicken parmesan (not a sandwich) with penne pasta, she said it was tasty and the chicken for both dishes were not the thin pounded down things, these were thick, tasty and cooked perfectly. Definitely visiting again when in the area.

Casual dining, nice bar with several TVs tuned to sports. Caprice salad was very good. Steak sandwiches looked great. Very nice selection of beers on tap.

It is a favorite of ours. Sometimes we sit at the bar & other times we grab a table. Carly does an outstanding job with the front of the house and Brian's food is always fresh, creative and amazing. Carly & Melissa make outstanding martinis! Wonderful place for dinner & drinks!

This restaurant has really become a great place to go to for us locals…it has become so good that people visiting the area are now coming…Tuesday night is Taco Tuesday and my wife had the Jamaican Jerk chicken taco tonight… I like their burgers and cheesesteak also…definitely recommended if you are in the area…

The Little York is my favorite place for dinner in the area. The steak and seafood dishes are always perfect! Also a great place to go for burgers, wings and pizza. It's always busy when I go there and the staff is always up for challenge. Overall just a very well run business. It's obvious that the owners take a lot pride in giving their customers the perfect combination of great food and service!
