Was visiting the area, very nice

This place has quick service, servers turning tables as quick as they can. Usually not a long wait to get in either. Food is the same as the other location, absolutely massive pancakes, delicious coffee even iced! Ingredients all seem to be house made.

I recently dined at this wonderful spot and had an exceptional experience. The food was incredibly tasty, with standout dishes like the ginormous chocolate chip pancakes that my kids absolutely adored. The service was also top-notch, making our visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying the El Paso Omelette, Biscuit and Gravy, Steak and Eggs, and the Veggie Omelette. Each dish was delicious and well-prepared. Highly recommended!

Food is delicious and what you hope for in a diner. Lines are long on weekends so expect to wait on weekends. Food and service are worth it!

I was looking forward to OSD for: freshly squeezed OJ, homemade corned beef hash, and delicious marble Rye toast. Well, the hash & eggs were good. 8:15 on a Monday morning out of the OJ. Bummer. Fall back, their "NITRO Keg Coffee," Nope, out of that, too. I clutched and said yes to Cold Brew Keg Coffee, which I also make and had a half gallon in my fridge at home. Derp. Toast was small, sad (a little mangled), and didn't taste much of Rye or Pumpernickel. My two breakfast companions were happy with their eggs, meats, grits, and whatnot. I would recommend the sausage links. They're more like sausage-sausage, than breakfast links, if that makes sense.

Friendly staff and great food. They are so good you have to expect a wait time. I've waited for a table for an hour once but it is so worth it. There is no reservations for all their locations

We always like Steve's, but thought it was strange to be out of hash browns, sweet tea, and chocolate chips at 8:30 in the morning.

Busy, but worth it. They have a full menu of just Eggs Benedict! Crab cake Benedict was so tasty. Very nice staff.

I ordered just one blueberry pancake, yet I was barely able to finish it. The blueberry added extra flavor to a dish that was already overflowing with sweetness and the orange juice was freshly squeezed. Overall, it was one of the most first rate breakfasts I’ve had this year.

A diner, so the atmosphere is diner like! Food is great, fast and ample. The only problem is it's always busy, and there's always a 1/2 hour or more!

Staff is great. [2022 March] Gluten free cinnamon pecan pancake with real maple syrup, oh boy! [2024 June] We had only about a dozen pecan halves in the entire lovecake, so very sparse. :( 😞

Always hopping, when you visit you'll know why. Great diner food and more, with a huge menu. Staff are always friendly and accommodating. Food is great. Today I had a veggie omelet, homefries and rye toast. Sometimes you do have to wait a bit ... but that's because people don't want to leave. People always seem in a happy mood when I'm in there. The atmosphere is bright and airy.

Just moved to the area and looking for a diner. Probably won’t return as I had a horrible bout of food poisoning. I had a fully cooked burger and fries so I can only assume the lettuce or tomatoes were handle or stored improperly. Cute place and the server was nice but nope on eating there again.

Best breakfast place on the planet, hands down. The Love Cakes put all other places pancakes to shake. Their menu is so much more than just pancakes though, my personal favorite is the Rochester classic "the dumpster" which is a great breakfast take on the legendary garbage plate. If traditional breakfasts are more your style, they have incredible omelettes, eggs Benedicts, sandwiches, waffles and any other breakfast plate you can think of! Every time I go, I find something new on the menu that looks tasty. The wait staff are also super attentive and the kitchen incredibly efficient at getting the great tasting food out quickly. For being such a small location, the food comes out incredibly fast! For such great food and ambiance, the prices are fair and certainly warrant coming back any time you feel like having the best breakfast ever.

Food has been good when we have come in the past. I don’t recommend coming unless you have at least 2.5 hours to burn. Always at least 30 minute wait (for 2 people) to get to a table let alone the wait to actually get your food. This location doesn’t do takeout which is a bit of a bummer. We likely won’t be back to this location as we’ve had three strikes of longer than projected waits which is pretty tough with young kids.

Great diner vibes, great service, and great food. Pancakes are HUGE. We shared the Max platter and some yogurt.

What a delightful find while visiting family in Rochester. The food was amazing. My husband had the banana walnut French toast and it was amazing. The staff was friendly and very professional. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely visit this location again.

Have breakfast there usually on Sat. or Sun. morning almost every week. Have NEVER had a bad experience. Get there early or you will have a wait.

order beef in wick. was like eating a salt sandwich. two pieces french toast and side bacon 15 dollars. prices just outrageous 5 strips limpy bacon for 6.95. do not recommend this place.

Rude waitress, my Hardy Hash omelet had no hash. Waitress took my fork and pointed to one little piece of cornbeef. She said if you order another one, you'll get the same. My girlfriend ordered pepper jack cheese in her omelet and got swiss! Won't be going back.

You won't find a better pancake.

Always Great ! Whenever i home visiting my dad we go for breakfast as a treat after blood work. i always get the greek omelette and it’s so good and YOU have to get a side of the homemade sausage links! service was top notch today as well

The host was rude as can be and had the nerve to argue with my grandma who’s 80 years old!!! The server we had she came and not even said hello and immediately told us what we couldn’t have and was extremely rude and didn’t bother taking our drink order. To say Im upset is an understatement bc we drive a distance to come eat here. Please do better !

Been going here for years although I have not gone for a while decided to take my kids to breakfast this morning. I was charged a credit card fee. This is unacceptable as this is a cost of doing business. I am a small business owner myself I would never charge this back to one of my customer's and our transactions are way higher than this ( always in the hundreds and a lot of the time in the thousands. Next time my kids want to go out to breakfast we will go to The Great American diner or Durfees as they don't charge this fee.

Favorite breakfast spot, they have Jamaican coffee too. Reminds me of schmegs that closed down years ago. Recommended to take anyone here

Steve's Original in Penfield is Super Tops. A great menu which is mouth watering, and hard to choose from so many delicious entrees. Then the service is 5* our waitress was very sweet and charming and a hostess quality. Stop in and say, 'Stephanie and Jerry sent me. You won't be disappointed, and may not finish your entree.

First time at Steve's diner, wait times were slightly elevated. Interactions with the hostesses were very pleasant, we felt they needed another POS system so they weren't all waiting to use one. Prices were a little on the higher side for the portion of eggs benedict served, lastly wasn't expecting a McDonald's version hash brown. More cost effective, if potatoes were run through a cheese grater for some classic diner shredded hash browns Great place over all, will recommend.

I had heard about Steve's Diner, and finally made it a point to try it. I am glad that we did! Very good food! Homemade and authentic! Not cheap, however, not too expensive for a diner.

This local chain is one of the three best places to get breakfast in Rochester. The food is delicious, the portions are huge, the wait staff is very friendly, and it has a good atmosphere.

Largest and most Delicious Pancakes I have had anywhere. I have been to dinners In 20 different states, nowhere has lovecakes (yes they call them lovecakes because they really do put love into their food) like these. Homemade in house sausage links are a knockout. Been to 2 of their locations and other than the address everything is the same. It's remarkable.

Steve’s will always be my go-to for the best breakfast in town. The Mac Daddy sandwich is my absolute favorite! Eggs done your way with bacon, sausage, hash brown patty, hot sauce on grilled bread. An oversized delight!

As usual the food was very good and cause we came during the, there was not even a wait at all. That was the best part.

Excellent food. Even though it was very busy the waitress still made sure we got what we needed without being intrusive. For those with gluten sensitivity there was a good selection of gluten free items.

The number of pancake varieties is amazing! I really appreciated being able to select real maple syrup (with an upcharge). I'm looking forward to a new Steve's opening in Victor (in October?) That will be a lot closer to home for me.

We waited thirty minutes to get in on Sunday at 940am. I get it, I’m from LI, waits are sometimes inevitable with Sunday brunch. What surprised me is the 40 minutes it took to get our meals after we went in. The omelettes were pretty good. Pancakes were solid. But no where near the quality to justify such a wait. They were definitely understaffed from my vantage point. Would not recommend this restaurant especially if you are going with young child during a busy time. If you got the time and want an above average pancake it’s worth it.

Bbq Bacon Cheddar burger was absolutely amazing! 💯 recommend! Will Be back for another soon. Also we ordered the mushroom Swiss omelet and that was amazing. Mushrooms were very fresh and delicious. 1st time there and will be a repeat customer. Thank You for the delicious food.

This place is amazing!! Best breakfast place we’ve been to in a long time. The wait is worth it. The “love cakes” are amazing and they have great GF, DF and Vegan options. They even have vegan butter. Such a great find. And our server, Leah, was fabulous! Thanks for making these Vermonters feel at home!

not doing takeout on weekends is a great way to LOSE MONEY

I was pretty excited to come here. My mother ordered some eggs, toast and home fries. The home fries were more like soft and not crisp. They almost seemed steamed. Our food came out in less than 5 minutes which made me a little suspicious that it was put together. Sloppily. I ordered a Reuben because the menu said it was lean corned beef. Now, I have had dozens of Reubens in many places and they're usually not even advertised as lean yet they come out very lean or trimmed. I was excited because I haven't had a Rueben in 3 years since my favorite restaurant that carried them closed in Canandaigua. My sandwich came out very sloppily. 1/2 of the sandwich only had one piece of corned beef and the other had three and the sandwich was sliding apart. The bread was so entirely soaked that I picked off the corned beef because the bread was disintegrating. There was either too much dressing, but it looked like they didn't really grill the bread long enough. The corned beef was more than 50% fat. When I took all the corned beef off and removed the fat. I only had about a third a cup of corned beef. The fat was the really slimy kind which I hate. Definitely should not have happened, especially since the menu said lean. I was beyond disgusted. Our waitress was friendly and the bathrooms are clean but I will not be back again.

It's a great place for breakfast. Plan in advance if you are going on the weekend. They fill up quickly. The servers were nice, and it took some time, but the food came out hot. My only gripe is the biscuits were mealy and tasted like everything in the freezer. But that aside, I LOVE the homemade sausages, and they fry up a mean egg. The pancakes are MASSIVE, so prepare for leftovers. I would see if the pancakes could be made a little smaller. Would highly recommend.

Excellent service and delicious breakfast. It was my first time there and I heard amazing things about their lovecakes (pancakes). There are so many to choose from that there's a separate menu just for lovecakes. I ordered baklava lovecakes and they were amazing!

This is one of the Best diner's I've been to!! The food is Absolutely delicious and the portions or big and the prices are pretty reasonable. If you're in a hurry you might be disappointed there's usually a line to be seated. I promise it's worth the wait!!!
