Cute frozen custard shop, clean appearance nice colored picnic tables outside with nice landscaping. Friendly staff with smiles, very welcoming also offered samples of flavor of the day along with samples of their plain vanilla and chocolate. Reasonable prices, lots of options. Stuffed animals for sale and packaged ice cream for sale. Same owners as Whits. Would return.

I had never been to the shack before. I ordered a birthday cake over the phone. Staff described the cake options very well so ordering was easy. Cake was Exceptional! They included extra caramel on the side. Which just made it even better! Great place! Will definitely be going back.

Very tasty ice cream. You choose vanilla or chocolate soft ice cream and then add the ingredients and sauces. Every day there is also an ice cream flavor of the day and shaved ice.

We went in last night and arrived 15 minutes before closing. We were concerned about them being frustrated that it was so close to closing. Let me tell you, they rolled out the red carpet. All of them were happy to serve and were so hospitable. They explained how everything works and even gave samples before we asked for them. The place was so cute and spotless. The custard was AMAZING! We hope to make it back again tonight. I wish they were local to where we lived. Thank you for the perfect custard treat on Sanibel Island, you all impressed us.

We have been coming to Sanibel for several years but had never been to The Shack until this year. We are so happy we finally went (every other day during our stay haha). The flavors of the day were fun and we loved dreamsicle (or was it creamsicle?) chip and buckeye. The staff is cheerful and friendly, and we really enjoyed chatting with them. Can't wait to go back next time! Also, thanks for taking care of law enforcement! 🖤💙🖤

The Shack is great! The employees are very friendly and custard is excellent. My family and I have been here several times. This was our first time back since Hurricane Ian and The Shack didn’t skip a beat. I highly recommend this shop to family and friends.

First time here—server was very helpful walking through the numerous options. Custard with mix-ins was a refreshing treat. Hawaiian shaved ice was on par with Maui quality. Only caution is eating outside at picnic tables, insects were very aggressive on biting the legs.

The shack has such a cool atmosphere and they have AMAZING ice cream! We were here for a long weekend and came here three night in a row. I highly recommend! Also the people working have been super nice. Each night there were different workers and we received the same amazing customer service each night.

First time visiting this establishment. The ice cream was wonderful, the service was not. The young lady who took our order was put out that I changed my order size. Very curt with my older guest. I paid and stepped back. When called to pick up order she tells me my card didn’t go through so I used a different credit card. After I pulled out my card she said she accidentally made me pay again for someone else’s order. Then couldn’t figure out how to refund me. She had someone else try to help me (who was very nice) but she jumped on the next register to help someone else and couldn’t look at me. I now have to go back tomorrow to get it sorted out. Mistakes happed but could have been handled differently.

Their frozen custard was really good. We're from out of town and visiting Sanibel. I love pineapple, banana, macadamia nut, and coconut combos and their Beach Party custard was amazing. I already miss it.

The most phenomenal frozen custard of Sanibel/Captiva Island! My family and I were vacationing in Florida after Christmas, this was a great pit-stop for a quick treat after having dinner at the Mucky Duck. When entering the restaurant, it’s very open and welcoming. The employees are energetic and kind. I found it difficult at first when trying to find where the flavors were: make sure to read the instructions on how to order on each board, the custard options are very customizable.

I got a vanilla custard with Reese’s cups, peanut butter, and chocolate syrup. It was delicious!

Amazing food and service. Im from Chicago and their hotdogs was just as good as a Chicago dog. The girl behind the counter recommended the flavor of the day which was a Lemmon pound cake ice cream. It was so delicious. She was so nice and friendly. Great experience. Def want to back before I go back to home.

Excellent!! The Shack Attack is like a peanut butter reese cup blizzard from DQ, only it sets the standard for what it should be everywhere. A little pricey but what isn't these days. I also don't mind paying for quality which is exactly what you get at The Shack!! My only questions is, why haven't you tried it yet?!!

Great place to stop for a sandwich and ice cream. The ladies inside were very friendly and we loved their pulled chicken sandwich followed by an ice cream cone. We really loved all of the toppings in the ice cream! Very dog friendly, our 4 month old Golden Retriever puppy Daisy loved her ice cream. We can’t wait to watch her grow with the Shackee grow chart outside on our next visit.

A very nice little frozen custard shop right on Periwinkle in Sanibel. The flavor of the day today was Buckeye but we were told they had just run out of it. The girl behind the counter made more for us though. It was rich, creamy, and delicious. The shop is small with limited seating inside, a few more tables outside, and from what we could tell, a lot of people taking their frozen custards with them to go

Absolutely delicious frozen custard! They have a great menu showing their island favorites but you can also build your own “shackit” by choosing however many toppings. They also had shakes, floats, cookie sandwiches, and even a fridge to take something home for later. The staff were all super friendly too. Some of the best tasting frozen custard I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to come back.

Made a visit over to Sanibel and stopped by The Shack for dessert. We have tried so many ice cream places in the area and have some favorites but this frozen custard was fantastic. It reminded me of the frozen custard from back home in Illinois/Wisconsin. Their red velvet flavor had real cream cheese frosting ripples and I added real chopped up cheesecake pieces. Probably a new favorite and highly recommend.

We had a quick bite at The Shack. The hot dog was yummy but the custard was even yummier. The staff was super friendly and even made a special puppy treat for our dog!

I’ve never been one to crave ice cream, but the custard The Shack dishes up is absolutely delicious. The Flavor of the Day adds to the fun, and everyone who works there is super friendly. We make frequent family trips there and even ordered an ice cream cake from them for my daughter’s birthday. Highly, highly recommend! They were also one of the first businesses to re-open after Hurricane Ian, and they offered hot lunches and free ice cream to residents and everyone working on island recovery. They also frequently donate ice cream to island events, such as the community holiday event at the rec center.

We had the best custard! Seth, phoebe, and Carson provided the best service by offering us a free sample of the flavor of the day! You guys make it very difficult to drive past without stopping! Keep up the good work! See you soon 😉!

My wife and I visited The Shack for the first time yesterday because our friends recommended it. The staff are so friendly and the frozen custard is the best. Next time we visit Sanibel with the kids this will be a priority on the to do list.

My husband and I stopped in for our first try of The Shack on July 24th, and I'm so glad we did! The staff were very friendly, clean and inviting atmosphere, and the custard was AMAZING! He tried the Shark Attack. I tried the Captiva Sunset and both were delicious! (I wanted to get a picture of both, but we devoured them before even thinking of it.) We will definitely be back during our next trip to Sanibel!
