If you’re just looking for coffee off the Highway, know that this location is in the back of the Rockfish Valley Community Center. Google takes you to the playground, so look around a bit. The line was to the door when we arrived. The two working employees appeared overwhelmed and were discussing the need for a break. They ended up closing at 10:30AM so they could each get a break. It was Memorial Day weekend and they were slammed. Do better for your employees. Coffee also tasted over roasted.

Such a great spot. The location in a community center is unique and I like it! The roasting could not be more local or fresh given it’s about 10 feet from the register. The coffee was fantastic (I had the Mexican roast) and the workers super helpful. The roaster even took a break from roasting so he could help me out while the barista was away for a minute. They do not have seating inside right there where the bar is, but right next door is the community center lounge and it was perfect. Quiet and simple. I will definitely be returning! Oh and the locally sourced short bread is spot on too!

Hands down the best coffee roaster in Central VA. TBC hits all the marks - ethically sourced, expertly roasted, multiple single origin & blend offerings, all at a solid fair price. We’ve been purchasing their coffee on location or in shops around town for over 2 years now. Great hang if you can make it to their roastery. Baristas are legit and kind, lovely spot to drink coffee and contemplate the mountains.

Got an iced mocha, it wasn't busy so we were served very quickly! The mocha was SUPER good! It was close to closing time but the coffee still tasted very fresh! There's no place inside to sit an drink coffee, however, there is a park close by and a few benches so if it's nice weather it'd be great for a coffee date.

Great coffee at a fair price! Better than the place that rhymes with No Bucks. They helped my grandson adjust his coffee to his very own version of perfection. Knowledgeable staff that was very helpful with descriptions of what they were serving and it's origins... plus some of the proceeds help the community! A win, win, win in my book! Definitely worth a return trip. The whole idea of what they've done with the former Rockfish School is remarkable given the small size of the community.

A local gem and must “taste” for all passing through. Delicious quality coffee, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. Plus a playground, some kind of skate park, and large grassy area for the kids. Perfect!

Great little coffee shop where you wouldn't think you'd find one. About as fresh as you can get, coffee beans are roasted right there and ground when you order.

An interesting location and atmosphere, for sure, but the friendliness of the staff, their dedication to making a nice cup of Joe, and the coffee itself more than make up for area. If you need coffee to keep you going while exploring Route 151, this is the place to be.

Coffee is incredible and is the best espresso I have had in the USA. Staff make the perfect espresso drinks and are super knowledgeable about their craft. This place is worth the trip.

Freshest coffee you’ll find almost anywhere. We found this place randomly off of google maps. It’s not well marked and in a community center. It’s worth stopping for some great coffee!

Absolutely delicious. I got the Honey Lavender and it was aromatic and Devine. My husband got the cold brew and it was not bitter. It didn’t even need any kind of sweetener.

The best experience ever in a coffee shop!!! The young man was so knowledgeable. I showed him my coffee pot and he knew exact ground I needed plus a complimentary coffee just the way I like it!!!!!

I was visiting the nearby breweries and tried this little place. The coffee was excellent. Staff was polite. Selection was large for a small joint. It's location is odd. It's in the back of a community center/park. There are 3 parking spaces. If you don't have Google maps on, you'll probably drive by it like we did. We followed some signs on the main road and expected to see a visible store front and drove straight into a neighborhood. It's not a conventional coffee shop, but the coffee was great. Need better signage out front.

I've made the daily commute from Bedford to Charlottesville over the winter. Happened to stop by an out of the way store in Lovingston. Decided to grab a bag and several others. I'm sold.

I am not a coffee drinker but this is my husband's favorite, we make a stop everytime and the staff is so nice and helpful. You have to try it.

Coffee is delicious!!!!! Parking...well that's another matter. 2 parking places, 1 handicapped and a 15pt turn to get our truck outta there, lol! But the coffee is sooo worth it!

Wonderful coffee, delightful service!

So happy to have finally found a place to have a decent coffee and yet, the quality of the coffee here is top notch. Roasted on site and open through 6PM. For those of us who visit the wineries regularly, but have to drive a long way back, this is God-sent. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because there are not really any great food or snacks options other than locally sourced shortbread. Still, the great coffee compensates. I did notice there is not really indoor sitting to be seen. I hope I am wrong. Important: drive around back from the main road to find the access with plenty of outdoor sitting and small parking. The main entrance is located by the soccer field. There is a back door too to access the Community Center from where you will find a door with a sign. Just don’t give up looking. You got to heaven already.

Yummy drinks great prices nice people and a cool atmosphere! What more could you want in a coffee shop? Oh yeah onsite roasted organize beans! Highly recommend. I will say though if your a sweet tooth coffee drinker order extra syrup pumps. The syrup if flavor focused not sweet focused. My husband wanted his a bit sweeter I thought mine was amazing.

This coffee roaster was recommended by the owners of the B&B we stayed at in Afton, VA. Outside seating was nice for a mild temp day. They were roasting when we got there which made the experience even better.

Didn't even know we were near this place until we saw the sign, this is one of our favorite coffees! We get it from the Farm Life General Store but had to stop for a fresh Americano!!

Awesome coffee! Stopped here on our way back home to PA! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about coffee. I got a caramel vanilla iced latte, my wife got a lavender vanilla iced latte. Both were tasty and smooth! Bought a bag of coffee from them, and can't wait to try it when I get home today! Definitely heading back next time we are in Virginia!

This gem serves top notch coffee options. It is a much needed coffee shop and roastery in Nelson County where coffee options are scarce. The shop is situated in the RVCC building so you can make use of the beautiful outdoor seating and nature views

What a sweet find. I tried the chai latte and got some beans to go. Excellent all around. We were not from the are and it was very sweet that some ladies in front of us shared there is a lounge next door to enjoy the coffee.

I always stock up on whole bean coffee from Trager Bros. when I am in Nellysford. I have tried other coffees; theirs is the best. Great safe service, as well.

Great little local coffee roaster. Nice selection of beans. Free coffee with each bag. And guess what, they still offer one pound bags instead of 12 like most other roasters do now and charge the price of pound bags. No product shrinkage here!

This place was great! Best coffee in the area by a long shot, very friendly and helpful staff. Price was exactly what you would expect for a place doing fresh roasted ORGANIC coffee. We had the holiday blend there and took a pound of the French Roast home. Even with masks on we could smell the amazing aromas from pretty far away! Finding the spot was slightly tricky... park in the lot near the skate park and walk along the side of the big building until you get to the very end (you can also park all the way down there, too). You can order online for pickup and delivery, too!

This is the best local coffee shop and roaster. We went 10 miles out of our way to stop and get a coffee. I also picked up a 5 lb bag of beans to go. Friendly knowledgeable people and some dang good coffee!

I got a a pound of their coffee for a Christmas exchange gift from my sister who lives near the Trager Bros coffeehouse. I looked at the bag a few times thinking I need to try it. I am very particular about coffee. All I buy is ordered whole bean from very reliable sources. At the moment I opened the Trager Bros. Coffee bag. I knew it is a winner. Just the smell of it makes you want to eat it and not wait to brew it. I will admit I put a few grounds on my tongue before brewing. It’s the very best coffee I have ever had. I wish I wasn’t 10 hours away. My wife and I would be there every day.... will be ordering...

My wife and I rented a house close to here and were extremely glad to find this place. We had our doubts at first because it didn't look open (it was mid-morning on a weekday and the parking lot was essentially empty) but we found our way inside and were rewarded with fab coffee and super friendly service. Highly recommend! We pass through the area frequently and we will certainly be back!

Their coffee quality far surpasses Greenberry's and Starbucks. They are also at least 2 to 3 dollars cheaper than the above listed coffee establishments. The staff is very polite and will easily carry on a conversation with you, if that's what you want. The service is very fast if you want it that way, but they also welcome you to sit and talk in the lounge or at the coffee bar for a few hours as you enjoy a beverage or two. They also sell their own coffee in bulk (whole bean and ground) and both the bar and lounge next door have WIFI. Love this place dearly and look forward to any chance that I get to visit there. Bottom line? Great coffee. Good prices. Fun people. Definitely try it out!
