10/10 delicious and authentic. If you’re looking for great flavor and great service definitely give them a try! The owner Burak was also very nice and welcoming sharing his incredible story and his love for Turkish cuisine.

Fantastic family ran place! First time eating there yesterday. You go in and you just get the feel like you're part of the family. The pesto chicken caesar sub so SO SO GOOD! The wife had the turkey panini and it was great as well!

Turqouis Cafe and bakery is such a delight the owners and the food is beyond our expectations everything is fresh and delicious please do yourself a favor and check them out our favorite is the meat omelet and the Greek omelet they are located in Port Orange

A small café with excellent brunch, pastrys and teas. The location is small, but the staff is very kind and the food is absolutely delicious! A must try if you're in the area.

Had the Turkish Meatball sandwich. Very tasty but I didn't see any red sauce listed on the menu, left the sandwich a little dry. Also had the Heavenly Greens salad. Very good, good ingredients. Service was good. And the place fairly busy. Pic shows sandwich opened up for clarity.

Very rude experience, they saw a large group of us enter and I notice one staff member slowly sliding away a 50% pastry sign since it was towards the end of the day. Which is not right, we didn't say anything but instead did not order anything here Sad to see this

This cafe and bakery is a delicious gem! It was my first time eating their fair and I was so impressed. Everything was delicious, fesh and as I understand made onsite daily. The owner is as lovely as her food. I highly recommend you give this place a try.

Definitely family owned and what a beautiful family so friendly and you can tell they really put a lot of love in the food! We had the Cuban sandwich which was the best I have ever had and I have had a lot. The bean salad was also delightful and very fresh. Oh and you have to try the red basil tea! Perfection! The atmosphere and decor is also warm, vibrant and beautiful!

We recently got married and ordered our wedding cake from here. I have NEVER in my 58 years wandering around this spinning blue and green marble had a better tasting cake! Seriously. We had a vanilla cake with dark chocolate and lemon filling and every single person kept lopping off huge slices for their second helpings. As my beautiful bride and I watched this unfold we maintained the grace and dignity that was needed to keep us from tackling our friends and loved ones to lay claim on what would have been several weeks of after dinner tasty reminders of our special day! It gets better. We decided to go eat lunch there one day and it was an equally satisfying event. This small quaint little place is as charming as the big hearts shown by the owners whose hard work and hospitality were felt before they were seen!

Have been coming here since the new owners took over from Herbert's Cafe. She is always friendly and helpful. The daily specials and the bakeries are just awesome and delicious.

I recently found this gem and I can’t say enough good things about it. The owner is always sweet, and she’ll happily explain what everything is and give recommendations. I love the quaint setup and the relaxed atmosphere. I wish I could visit there every day. 10/10

Absolutely the friendliest atmospher, nicest owners and best meal we have had in Port Orange!! The owners make it all in house fresh! Wife had Meatball panini (Kofte) and I had the Gyro panini (Doner). We also had homemade Marmalade Cheese and Carrot Cake for dessert.

Wonderful hidden gem Absolutely come try this place, the food is delicious, the people are wonderful, there's great music, everything is super fresh, the bread is made there, everything tastes homemade with love. They were very busy which tells you just how loved they are by their customers, it's always nice to see a small business booming. The price is average, we had the Reuben, gyro, two baklavas (delicious), coffee, tea, a special Valentine's treat, and a good tip, all for $50. We will make this place a regular visit, so lovely.

Big flavors from a small cafe! Everything was amazing from the service to the desserts. It’s rare that a restaurant pleases all 5 of our family members but this place exceeded expectations. We will definitely be regulars from now on!

This is a small and quaint Bakery Cafe..The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The food is all homemade and fresh including the breads and other baked goods. We went as a family and all our food were delicious and very affordable .We will be coming back to try other dishes.. If you are looking for a hidden gem, then this is the place. Highly recommend.

Total hidden gem in Port Orange, and the fact that it’s right across the street from The Flowery is quite serendipitous! My omelet was filled with bacon, ham, and cheddar and the fresh baked bread that came with it was crusty and fluffy! My single favorite thing was the cheese borek, which was fresh out of the oven and impossibly delicious— flaky, buttery, soft, and filled with herbed tangy cheese! The baked goods were both excellent as well! The carrot cake was moist and flavorful and they actually use cream cheese in their icing, and the napoleon was also tasty, the cream was very rich! The pastry was a bit doughy, but this is a minor critique for an otherwise incredible breakfast!

Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and super friendly service! I had the Turkish sausage panini, which was very flavorful, and of course the pistachio baklava was amazing. Will definitely be coming here again!

A delightful, unique bakery and restaurant that serves the most delicious dishes. We sampled some red basil tea and the Turkish breakfast platter last time we were there. Delicious! The owners are very kind and helpful, too.

I live within a mile of this place and never knew it was here. NOW...I want everyone to know. I had cabbage rolls, salad, fresh baked bread and a REAL OLD FASHION glass of water with ice cubes. Service was superb, the meal was so yummy I had to eat it all in 1 sitting. Let's spread the word and show them some LOVE. SANDY

My friends and I like to frequent this cafe for lunch. The Turkish coffee was the best they've had. The panini sandwiches are tasty and the owners know how to treat their customers. They were so kind and sweet! They even provided some fruits for my little one with out asking!

The best cakes!!! Very tasty, light and beautiful cakes! Flavors are so rich. I love that they're not too sweet. My favorites are chocolate raspberry cake, triple chocolate cake, hungarian cheesecake and carrot cake.

This is such a hidden gem in Port Orange. The food is soooo phenomenal 😋 a pure authentic taste from their home country, Turkey. And you CAN NOT leave that place without trying their Turkish coffee.

Lovely little breakfast/lunch spot. Absolutely delicious freshly baked French bread panini with scrambled egg, Turkish sausage, and goat cheese. Also tried the carrot cake which was amazing and not overly sweet which I appreciated. I am excited to return to try more homemade foods/baked goods!

It was my first visit and I ordered the tangerine cheesecake. I loved it because it wasn't overly sweet. American bakeries use too much sugar, in my opinion.

My go to every Thursday for lunch out! I adore this place. Their heavenly greens salad is my favorite! I always get a cup of red lentil soup as well - the BREAD they serve with it … is amazing. My husband usually get a panini and a Turkish coffee has now been added! It’s a great small little cafe with the owners on site - and so kind of helpful. Keep room for dessert …. They are all made there ! Ask for a Turkish delight too if you’re too full. It’s the perfect ending to a meal! I alway intended to take more pictures but always end up eating first and forget! Great place for breakfast dishes as well!

Just stopped here to have a nice cup of afternoon coffee and pastry. The sign on the fory states until April 4th or 5th they will be closed until 4pm and open Sunday from 4-10pm. Well no one was there and after looking through there window I saw how sorry the floor was. I used to love the pastries. They've lost business here. So sad

Excellent!! Great service, fantastic food and pastry. Cannot rave enough about this place. We tried 5 different items and i had a cappuccino. Amazing. Homemade Turkish recipes. The owner is so friendly and welcoming. The lemon cheesecake? Oh my gosh!! Prices are really good and the size/amount you get is very generous. Highly highly recommend. Oh, and they just last week started opening at 9:30am. From 9:30-4:00 all options are available and from 4-8pm coffee and pastry is available. Its not on Google yet - she told me this morning (3/18/23). Anyway GO HERE!

Such a great little place. We used to go there when it was Herbert's and were sad to see the ownership had changed. I am happy to say our sadness was unfounded. It was a very busy day and when we ordered our brunch the owner apologized that there would be a slight delay as her husband was out getting more eggs. We didn't mind because as usual the food was fantastic!. The people at this family run cafe are friendly, the food is great and to top it all off, the pastry case is full of diet-busting goodies. Will we be back?....A resounding yes!

Update 01/14/2023: ownership has changed and it is now a Turkish bakery ran by a sweet Turkish family. A lot of the menu items are the same still, with some new additions. I overheard the owner say they spent time transitioning with the old owners and learning all their recipes. We both had gyros and I had a cup of the soup special (red lentil) with fresh baked bread. All very good, the bread was delicious! They also gave me a sweet little bracelet as a gift. Please go support their little business as they get started here! Highly recommended!! The food here was amazing, homemade, delicious, fresh. We had a lot of things - started with a cheese bite (melts in your mouth) and a cream cheese peach strudel. I had the French onion toast special with ham (in the photo) and my boyfriend had the Hungarian omelet. Both so so good! We took to go 4 more cheese bites, a piece of carrot cake, and two eclairs. Can’t wait to try them! I can’t wait to come back here and try other items on the menu.

Delightful gem tucked into the plaza!!! The new owner's have renamed it Turquoise and the menu looks great!! We picked up some pastries and took them home. The Nutella croissant [my husband broke into it before I could get a good picture] was delicious... as were the dark chocolate cake and cinnamon rolls cheesecake!!! Make sure you drop in and try it out for yourself!!!

I was visiting my parents in Daytona and my mom wanted to go out for lunch. I don't make a very good tourist, so I wanted to find something that was non-touristy and not a chain. To my delight, I found Herbert's Bakery & Bistro. I hate to leave a review because I feel like I found a local secret and should keep it all to myself. 😁 Follow the directions on Google because you won't see a sign from the road. I don't know all the details but it appears to be a true family affair... run by a European family from Hungary. The menu has a great variety of real food, food with flavor, texture and color, carefully prepared... a complete delight for the senses. If you're still hungry, there is an excellent variety of baked goods and deserts. The dine-in area is small and quaint. If you are in a rush phone ahead, otherwise relax and imagine you're in a European cafe. Take your time to enjoy the delicious food and friendly people.

Absolutely delicious food. You can go for breakfast and lunch. They bake their bread fresh everyday. I was very pleased with the food, quality of service, and overall experience. Local bakeries like these are rare so I’m very glad I found this. I got the Cafe Latte Mocha and French Onion Toast (Oven Baked) - in the pictures below. I will be coming back soon!!

The best bakery I’ve been to in a long time.

My first time in...after weeks of driving by looking for this hidden gem. It's hidden in the side of the strip mall, the lighting is poor so keep your eyes open. Now I wanted a special treat for my birthday, ended up getting the blueberry cheesecake. Yum... what I didn't realize till I arrived home that it was a nobake. That surprised me, a bit of a different texture, the flavor was very subtle I would have enjoyed a bit more blueberry flavor..or many even a touch of lemon to brighten it up. With all of that said it still was delicious very filling the one slice lasted for three different sitting. The sales associate who helped me make my selection was gracious and very pleasant once the initial walk in was over. I decided to order the chicken ceasar salad sandwich it was good, made in a sub roll so much more bread than I usually eat, plenty of chicken... honestly I would have enjoyed it more in a wrap. The shop is tiny, with a few tables to sit and enjoy your selection and time. I will be back for for treats.

Cute bakery with some good flakey pastries. We tried the Nutella croissant, an apple turnover, and a panini Nutella and strawberry croissant. All were very nice!

So we live in Lake Mary and have been looking for some authentic Hungarian food in the Orlando area for a while... My wife has found it!! It is a fairly long drive as it is in Port Orange, but so worth the trip! I had the Letcho omelet and it was superb!! A small cafe that is nothing short of wonderful! GREAT, AUTHENTIC HUNGARIAN FOOD! AMAZING!!!

Our office picked up a to-go order today and words can not express how delicious all of our food was. Heavenly greens salad - amazing, french onion toast - most delicious sandwich ever, cinna toast - sweet, moist, fluffy, homemade soup & chili - both light, not too salty, just perfect. Every single detail of every meal was just incredible, we love Herbert's Bakery & Bistro!!!

Worth the visit! As soon as you walk in, you can tell you’re in for a treat. Pretty wallpaper, neatly written out chalk menu board, and the pastries in the display window all looked gorgeous! We ordered the Breakfast Croissant and the Hungarian-Style Omelette for the main event, a few pastries to share, and cappuccinos. We may even come back for a grab-and-go selection before the airport tomorrow! The staff all were very friendly as well, adding to the whole experience. Highly recommend!

I have been going to Herberts regularly with my family for a couple of years. The food is head and shoulders above anything else in the area. The owners and employees remember our names and menu preferences, which makes us feel valued and like we are a part of the Herberts family. The service has always been absolutely excellent and, frankly, the personal interactions with the staff are what keep us coming back. Herberts is the total package: tasty entrees, steaming cappuccinos, mouth-watering pastries, and most importantly, service that leaves us feeling more like family than customers.

It was my husband's and mine's first visit. Wow. Flavors are so real. Delicious. Coffee is astounding and service was excellent. To "Mom" who made tomato soup - I have space at home free of rent! :)
