Love their food. Worth the wait.

So, I waited about 40 minutes in line. Apparently, this isn't unusual as they have t-shirts that say they "survived the line at Van's." I ordered the Big Pete burger. Which is basically a double cheeseburger with everything, onion rings, and a chocolate shake. The burger was worth the wait. Sloppy, savory, and delicious. The shake was both creamy and tasty. The onion rings were a bit overcooked and not the best. Overall, I would go back, just don't be in a hurry.

Love this drive thru!!! The staff is SO friendly. Don't let the long line stop you. They are really organized, and the wait is SO worth it. 😋 I really enjoy their FRINGS, and they have the best shakes! They also have a great area where you can park and enjoy your food outside. It's mostly shaded and has peaceful views.

I'm sure this is just a repeat of every other review about Van's, but I'll post it anyway. This place has great burgers, great staff, and the best milkshakes in olympia. Vans is just about the only place I can think of in the thurston county that has strawberry shakes with real strawberries and not strawberry syrup and real marionberry shakes as well. There's only 2 negative things I can say about Van's 1. they have very limited hours, so get it when you have the chance. 2. They almost always have a long line. But the line goes pretty quick with their new system. So if you drive past and see that they're open swing in and grab a burger whether you're hungry or not. Because you'll regret it if you don't

The service man, THE SERVICE! Customer service is the best, they earn my loyalty with it. Now, review on food: My favorite, the MILKSHAKES 🤯 they are the best shakes I ever tried, must must get them, also one of the reasons I WILL go back, excellent job with them 👏 Hamburger it's very good, nothing mind blowing, for my first time trying it, and the amount of costumers they have, I was expecting a little "somerhing" on it... but, yeah, would 1000% prefer this place vs a big chain restaurant. Fries, there nothing special at all, It would be interesting to see some "in house seasoning" for them maybe ? 👀 Onion rings, good, worth to buy, nothing crazy about them, but they are good 🤷‍♂️ The "hotdog" I bought, shown on pictures, comes on a burger bun but witg sausage in, I personally did not like this one at all, nor wife and kid, but we had to give it a try, we wanted to try what this place had to offer. We enjoyed getting our food, park there and eat, TAKE YOUR PLATES 😅 my wife was very clever to bring plates, make it super comfortable to eat in the car like that. COME VISIT, COME TRY, COME AND ENJOY, love this place now, and again, I will come back,

We always go to Vans for lunch. They are without a doubt the best!

A favorite treat for our family! Worth the drive to get to and reasonable prices. It’s one of those if you know you know places. Strawberry shortcake week coincided with last week of school making it extra special!

This place is worth the wait! The burger was amazing with all the fixins, fries were nice and crispy, shake was delicious, and the homemade sauce was fabulous! Me and my partner stumbled across Van's by chance and it will be our new spot. Nice size items and portions, and good prices, too.

Everything was hot people were great. Just bland. Strawberry milkshake was weak mostly vanilla. Burger was bland no seasoning the only flavor was grease

Had the corn dog and onion rings. Topped it off with a strawberry shake. Corndog was absolutely awesome. Huge serving and puts any fair I have been to shame. Onion rings also excellent. Lastly the strawberry shake tasted fresh and homemade feel. This was my first time stopping here, will definitely be making it a regular stop. Also the staff was pretty cool 😎

The staff are the most amazing and friendly people, no matter how busy they are they have the biggest smiles and make feel like their most important customer. The food is delicious and makes any day better.

Yum, Yum Yummy! I'm actually glad they are only open a limited number of days. If they were open all the time, I would be in trouble. Service is wonderful, little spendy but a nice treat. I don't mind paying more when everything is so good. They also take care of the furbabies. ❤️

And as ALL-ways Vans had another amazing milkshake, a Butterscotch flavor and it was delicious and their BLT was incredible as well. Keep up the impressive food and great work to the ladies that took our order and delivered our food and I especially enjoyed the mixture of onion rings and french fries mixed together, so thank you for the friendly hospitality and service.... I’ll just say, their milkshakes are so good! They are the PERFECT thickness. Another plus is the staff ACTUALLY interacts with you unlike most places who just take your order then go mosey back to their lifeless cash register. Thank you for making a good impression on first timers to Washington!

I'm new to Olympia/Lacey area and these guys make me feel right at home! Super friendly, and food is fresh, delicious and simple! Seriously no fuss, just real good food. And when available, my favorite shake is marshmallow omgeeeeez so good. I believe they picnic tables if you want pull over, otherwise it's jus easy peasy drive thru. Enjoy 😉 😁👏🏽🍔🍟🌭🥤🫶🏽

Had the corn dog, and I thought it was good. I do like mine cooked more and will ask next time we go. The onion rings were really good too! Reasonably priced.

Had high hopes but was a bit disappointed. Pros: Service was fast and friendly, and I had my food in hand in less than 10 minutes. Puppy patties are given to our four-legged friends. Burger patty itself had great flavor. Cons: First time coming and an item was forgotten to be given to us. It's not huge, and I understand it happens. It's just a tad inconvenient to hop back in the busy line for it. Burger was very, very, very messy. Overkill of sauce that made the bun soggy within minutes. Frings was great but only comes with two onion rings..for the higher price point, I expected at least 3. They charge extra for ranch, and its not great at all. Im a huge ranch lover, and I didn't touch it. Its ranch dressing, not dipping sauce ( IYKYK). Again, for the extra price, I'd expect a better quality ranch. Overall, I felt $20 for one person was a bit pricey for the food. But it was solid.Wasnt terrible, but it wasn't amazing. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here again but may give it another try if in the area.

It was my first time here. It would be nice if they were open more than they are. I went during my lunch break shortly after 11, and I wasn't prepared for a 40-minute wait from start to finish. The lady giving me my food said they are getting quicker, and their aim was 2-3 minutes per person, but they were no where near that. I got a Big Pete and added an egg, onion rings, and a chocolate shake, which was about $25 (pretty pricey). Honestly, I felt as if the onion rings stood out to me more than the burger, they were perfect. My friend lives 5 miles away so we went to eat at his house, but I ate in such a rush because of how long it took to get our food. The food was good, I'd go back for sure. Next time, I'll eat slower and enjoy my food.

First time here and Without any doubt, the *best* burger I've ever had in Thurston county. Absolutely worth the line, and honesty, I've spent more time sitting in a Crap in the Box line for far worse food. This is the only place I'll be getting burgers from.

It's better than average for around these parts, but definitely not worth sitting in a line of cars for. Grab Burger King or Wendys if there's any line. 👍👌🤘✌️😎

Honestly I've only been to this burger place once. I would give it the full 5 stars however the reason I'm giving 4 is because the line gets ridiculously long like you have to have the whole day to yourself to really go here in case you sit there for like an hour. That is the only reason I subtracted a star otherwise the food overall deserves 5 stars. Will return again but come hella early before the other early birds come. Will possibly return whenever they plan on opening again.

My husband and I drove cross country from NC and our first day in Washington we had Vans. We LOVE Van’s. The food is delicious, one of the best burgers I’ve had, the people are so friendly, the owner was so lovely to talk with, and the atmosphere was perfect! We sat at a picnic table in front of the beautiful farm and enjoyed our meal. I can’t wait until they open again for the season!

I got the corn dog was so good! Really big too. The pumkin shake is the best I have had could taste the spices , not to sugary. The cheeseburger was pretty good and crinkle fries. Love all the staff so friendly! Also they had puppy patties for my fur baby and he got a lil ice cream treat so very cool

Overall really good burgers not sure what the hype is about. The burgers tasted like regular burgers and the marionberry shake was on point too.

I wish I could give 3.5 stars so I rounded up. Came during a week-day in the middle of their hours of operation. Super friendly and helpful. If you mention this when you first pull up, they will provide an info sheet/newsletters which was very, very helpful. I ordered a fair burger and fries. Fries were pretty good and ketchup was included. Yay. But the burger lacked a bit of flavor (I think just more salt and pepper would be great) and a lot more sauce than I was expecting. The burger was obviously fresh and I received another helpful sheet with FAQs. Very, very friendly service. I will come back to try some more food and also maybe something sweet.

Outstanding. I'm a hungry guy, but made the miskate of ordering the tripple pete.. It was huge! Next time I'll just get the double :) Great service, well organized for how busy they are. They kept the cars moving along. Great flavor and not too greasy. This will be my go to spot from now on. Would be 5 star if they were open more than 3 days a week. Would highly recommend!

Best Burger I've had since being stationed in Washington.

The layout was a bit confusing, we wanted to grab shakes only however we were directed into the food line and then had to tell them we were not ordering food but just shakes. The woman who took our order, very nice, however was not clear on which was to go. Being from out of state, this is very confusing if you're not a local.

Always the smiling faces makes it fun to wait in line and the cheese burger with grilled onions is the best

Marionberry Milkshake for the Win!

Since we moved here to Washington . My Husband just Loves EVERYTHING at this place . I especially Love the Hot Dog and Shakes. They have the Best Customer Service. At times you do have to wait a little long but So Worth it. We came back from being on vacation from Hawaii. And the first thing we both wanted was to eat here. We didn't even drop off luggage's went straight their. Thats how Great the Food is.

If there were six stars, I'd have given Van's all of em!

If you like burgers, corn dogs and shakes, well, this place is your calling! Amazing family owned little place, ALWAYS busy, so if you don't mind the wait.. it's well worth it! There are 2 little buildings, that have their own lines, and it's a drive up only, and if you are in the burger line, while you wait the sweet spot staff will come to greet you and take your order if you would like a shake and or corn dog. If you don't want a burger just head over to the sweet spot line and get your corn dog and shakes! Easy place to get hooked on!

So I already gave a review on Vans, not sure what happened, it showed I only gave one star, this was not a one star review, Vans is very good!! I will definitely be going back. I had the pleasure of my son, and daughter in love treat me for lunch a couple of days ago. I ordered a strawberry shortcake, and it was incredible!! Also ordered a vanilla shake that was to die for until I snagged my son's coffee shake, that was the most incredible shake I have ever had!! Not to mention I could not wait and devoured half of the strawberry shortcake while we were waiting to order our food. We ordered the double pete (I think that is what it was called) it was a very very good burger. I want my hubby to try Vans, cause we love us a good burger. Thank you Vans for the incredible food, and service, and I do apologize for that one star that was an unintentional mistake

This shack is a combination of many good parts that when taken together make something exceptional! The burgers, fries, shakes and customer service are all superb. A very cool place that is well worth the wait. I got the cheeseburger with an egg and it was delicious. The chocolate shake on the side was creamy and sweet. This place is worth the visit if you are patient and catch them while they are open

Longer wait but worth it. Good food, good shakes and friendly staff. Great lunch spot and tables by large trees. Kids can run around this area while the other parent orders food from car line.

I call this place "Line Burger" because you sit in a really long car line for an underwhelming underaverage burger and fries. Skip it. They won't miss you. There are anton of people here everyday for some reason.

Update-Went a couple more times. I imagine he's the owner, but he was super informative and polite. Their burgers are Number 1 in the state. Fresh veggies and delicious burger with no grease. Fudge malt was mouthwatering. So good. So burgers are great first and foremost. However, making someone pull around your lot for literally no reason (didn't skip a car or anything) and not enforce it to the next 3 drivers makes absolutely no sense and makes yall look weird. If you want to uphold your unnatural rules, please do it to everyone.

Although only open seasonally through the year “Thurs-Sat” usually, unless they post when they close. They are a great snack stop. I absolutely love the Marionberry shake and 100% beef corn dogs. You will not be disappointed at all! Go when they open, usually 11am-3pm to avoid very long lines. They have 2 lines in the summer. The Sweet Shop is open in late spring and in the fall, I think they close the sweet shop early. Try them while you can! YES, their ice cream and shakes are kosher.

I had the Pete’s double and frings. The homemade ranch and tartar are a must. We waited about 45 mins on a Saturday afternoon. I’ve been following on Facebook for years and decided today was the day. Hour drive was totally worth it. There’s about 6 picnic tables to eat at and it’s perfect for a beautiful day. Staff are busy but still friendly which goes a long way. We’ll be back soon!

I recently got a awesome job at Country Green Turf Farms and might I say, enjoying a delicious van burger after a hard working day at work is the best way to end the shift! I hadn’t gone to vans since I was a kid but now that my job is right next to it I will be coming back frequently! Keep doing what you guys are doing!

It’s worth the hype and worth the wait! We finally made a point to get over there during their limited business hours and try this famous little drive-thru burger joint. Overall, it was really good. Staff were super friendly - reminded me of my many years living in the south and folks just looking for a reason to talk to you. It was great. We ordered a variety of burgers, sides, and even some milkshakes from the partner business deserving up sweets. In my opinion, the Pete burger and onion rings were the best. Loved the fry sauce they gave out too! We didn’t get a corn dog this time well but it was recommended for our next visit lol. Best part: it’s incredibly fair in price. You could get a full affair - burger, fries, drink or whatever, for like $15 a person. Best value we’ve found in the Olympia/Lacey area. For reference - we arrived at 5:30 on Friday and waited about 45 minutes in a long line of cars to get our food. Good news, they “close” at 6, but they seem to let anyone already in line get through. It’s a wait, but as long as you know ahead of time, it’s totally worth it.

Corn dog: 3/10 - I wasn't impressed with the corn dog. My dog liked it though! For the price it's totally not worth the corn dog, hard pass. Onion rings: 5/10 - cooked well but way over breaded. Seemed like a frozen onion rings nothing special. Fair burger: 8.5/10 - solid fair burger! Service: 10/10 - Service was great everyone was nice and friendly!

If you have not been to the burger or joint that is never open. DO IT. Fresh made when you order it as you order it and nothing less. Local and family owned. Sweet treats and more.

Customer service was amazing and my puppy got two different treats while we waited in line for the food! We got the big Pete and fries with their homemade fry sauce. My girlfriend and I were able to share the burger and fries between the two of us and left very very happy! It was the first experience we had and we will absolutely be coming back.

This place was worth the wait. Milkshakes were really good with the corn dog. Burgers were good (regular and vegetarian one which is basically no meat but sub for a cost of a fried egg). Fries and onion rings were very good and hot.

I've driven past so many times, but today I stopped by Van's Burger. And let me tell you, their burgers are to die for! But, what really touched my heart was their staff. It was raining, so inevitably some water splashed into my car. One of the employees noticed it immediately, grabbed a towel, and wiped my door without a second thought. It was such a sweet gesture! It wasn't a big deal, but it really meant a lot to me. It's the little things that truly make a difference. When a place cares enough to notice these small details, it tells me they're serious about the important stuff too... like health, safety, treating their employees well, and using high quality ingredients. So, it's no surprise that their burgers were so delicious! And can we talk about their Pepsi? It was spot-on, which is definitely not something I can expect from a drive-thru. These days most places mess up the mix, but Van's got it just right. Honestly, this week has been rough for me, and today was especially tough because I had an important medical appointment. I needed something to go right. Who knew a burger joint could turn my day around? So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, Van's. You really made a difference today. ❤️

Not only is the food good and worth the wait, the ladies that work there are the sweetest, gave my little one a gummy burger. I love their frie sauce.

Be sure to ask for extra napkins, or be sure to bring your own! Finally, I found a spot in thta line that was not wrapped around the parking lot 10 fold! Great shakes, too.

Definitely worth the wait! This was my first time here and was hands down the best burger I’ve ever had, and the onion rings were so good and crispy! The staff was also super nice and friendly! Looking forward to coming back many more times!

This place is most definitely one for the books!! The staff there are super welcoming, very personable and always happy, the food there is unbeatable, the prices are actually cheaper than if u were to go to jack in the box(yuck), and well the line is just long enough to make you actually sit and enjoy the scenery for a moment and catch your breath!! The best burger place in all the PNW and definitely my personal best of all time (Sorry Campus-U-Totem in Ellensburg who I swore undying fealty to for years but I still love you though)! The line can be long but that's just because of the popularity and personally I think they're very transparent and set expectations on their website and in the monthly newsletters. The food is always amazing and so is the service. Personal fave: A fair burger with no pickles and frings. Honorable mentions: all the shakes and the corn dog.

It was our first time going and will definitely be back! We waited about 40 mins before being able to order sweet stop! They handed out a newsletter to help make it seem like the waits less the newsletter talked about each employee so that's awesome to be recognized. The milkshakes were super good. They gave our dogs pup cups and a free burger patty! The girls in the burger stand were soo friendly and efficient. Who ever owns this place is doing something right.

Great burgers. Their corndogs are amazing. The milkshakes are fantastic. I gave them four stars for these reasons: the fries are pretty bleh, you can expect over a half hour wait, and they are closed a lot, even during their own listed/ limited hours of operation. It is worth the line for the corn dogs and burgers, but it will take a while.
