I have been in this store.I have formally given it a 5 star review because the service was on par with its excellent chocolates. I am usually greeted with friendly helpful people, this time it was a sour puss no humor person (hopefully not the manager). I will change back my review once I decide to return after dealing with the sour experience with MS. Condescension.

Find all your hometown Buffalo NY favorite chocolates and more. Prices are on the rise again later this Fall before the holiday shopping season. Sponge candy currently $28 per pound for milk chocolate. No more "sweet" prices of yesteryear.

The best quality at excellent prices. The lady at the counter was so nice I didn't want to leave. If you miss sponge candy like I did, this is the place to go! We will be back!

It's my favorite chocolate candy shop.

Watson is my go to for chocolate. After today I'll be rethinking that. I wanted a 1lb box of peanut butter miniatures and was told they only had prepackaged 1/2 lbs boxes. The clerk took 2 boxes and just dumped them in a bigger box. I always get them boxed beautifully with paper cups but not today. I ended up going elsewhere to get what I wanted. Worst customer service I've ever had there.

Best sponge candy in western new york.

Went there at 1:07pm on Sunday. Their hours said 12-6 on the door and the neon sign was lit and said open. However the doors were locked. Waited in my car for about 5 mins to see if maybe the worker was using the bathroom and had to lock up. But no one ever came to unlock the door. Maybe you should try updating the hours to show you’re not open on Sunday’s. Horrible way to run a business, especially right before Easter.

Yummy sponge and other chocolate delights!

As someone who was born and raised in WNY, to parents who both had sweet tooth-itis, I of course developed a taste for candy & particularly chocolate. I would save my milk money to buy candy on my way home from school because my route took me right past the candy store where homemade sweets were produced, including a WNY favorite known as "sponge" candy, a concoction of toffee with baking soda added to make the toffee 'puff up' with millions of tiny air bubbles that became light & crunchy when it dried. The toffee is then cut into squares & dipped in chocolate to produce the finished product. That candy store is long gone, but Watson's remains in many locations around WNY, including Ellicotville, NY, the quaint town that is home to Holiday Valley ski slopes; 2 Transit Road locations - one in Clarence, & one in Depew; and a small outlet store in a strip plaza on Southwestern Blvd near a Tops Supermarket. Watson's chocolates are excellent - smooth, rich & creamy. Milk, dark, & orange flavors. The selection is huge - nuts, chews, fudge, meltaways, creams, suckers, molds, and also turtles, sponge, and malted milk balls. You can buy pre-packed boxes, create your own box, or just buy by the piece. They also have ice cream. I am most familiar with the location near the Foreststream shopping center on Transit Rd in Depew. They are open 7 days a week, 10-9 Mon-Sat, & 12-6 Sun, because the desire for chocolate has no days off! There is one problem at this location and it's the entrance. The stairs are steep, and there is a ramp next to the stairs to make it handicapped accessible, but the ramp is too steep to be usable for anyone with a walker or wheelchair, & 2 winter's ago the boards warped on the ramp, and it is difficulty to navigate. Please fix these issues!

We went there expecting ice cream a few days ago (it was a warmer day) and they dont start selling the ice cream until after Easter!?! Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones who expect there to be ice cream, at least 4 other groups of people walked in after us and got the same results. You have been warned!

Good chocolate but very expensive

They sell really good chocolate I got sponge candy and caramels sponge is the greatest you don't find any bad pieces like you do in other places and the caramels are smooth soft and gooey yum
