always driven past this notable landmark but never stopped until this week. needed lunch on the way home (rochester) from a camping trip at limekiln. stopped in a little after 11. fought a little with the front door but found out they were in fact open and serving food. the chicken salad melt sandwich is what dreams are made of. I've been wanting another ever since. my husband's BLT was good too, but he agrees chicken salad melts for both of us next time! and we will be back!

Food and service was excellent,just a pit stop,our bartender Rayna was very knowledgeable of the area and gave us great tips of places to visit, highly recommend.

The service was top notch, and the food was (mostly) great. My only critique is that the menu makes it clear that the wings are cooked “CRISPY” unless otherwise specified, yet my wings weren’t crispy. Sure, what constitutes a crispy wing is open for debate, but when some of the skin is soft/rubbery, she ain’t crispy.

We made a trip up and finally stopped. A couple of beers and some wings on the way. The service was great, and the wings were also great, best that we have had in awhile. Definitely stop here!!!

Four of our party were leaf peeping recently around the Old Forge area. This restaurant/bar was recommended to us. We arrived shortly after 11:00am for lunch. The hostess acted as the greeter, waitress, bartender and just about every other position. Our meals consisted of fish fries and chicken wings. The wings came out crispy, tender and flavorful with a choice of sauces. They were meaty and delicious. The fish fry was generous enough where two of us shared. The atmosphere was rustic but pleasant and the bathrooms were extremely clean. I would highly recommend this establishment if you are up in the Old Forge area. Also it is a pleasant ride from the city of Utica. Job well done!!

For years, my family has been driving 🚗 by this place and finally stopped in. It is definitely a local place and is great. It was packed with only two workers, one in the kitchen and one working the bar and waiting tables. But they made it work perfectly. If you are going to the area make sure to stop in. The burgers were amazing.

The atmosphere is awesome beautiful wood . So funny there is an Airplane sticking out if roof. Raina was working so friendly we will definitely go back.

We've driven by this place for years on our way to Old Forge. We decided to stop in for dinner last night and glad we did. I had the mushroom Swiss burger and it was excellent! We'll definitely make this place a regular stop.

Went out for a ride today with the family, and we had lunch at a local place that deserves a round of applause. The wigwam, even though I didn’t get a picture of the delicious lunch that I devoured, the woman behind the bar really knew what she was doing and so did the folks in the kitchen. If you're in the Forestport area and you’re looking for a speedy yet comfortable lunch spot the WigWam tavern is the place to go! It is a small building but you feel comfortable the whole time!

So I’m a local I don’t go here very much myself with six other people came here today for lunch today on Snowmobiles. This place was packed. We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated to eat. All seven of us had our food within 20 minutes I could not believe it The food was delicious. There was one lady behind the bar doing it all and one cook cooking. All I have to say is wow this place was packed. We were in and out in less than an hour with full bellies and really good food we had burgers. and onion rings, and grilled ham and cheese. And it was all delicious. I highly recommend going here no matter if it’s busy or not. Thank you to the wigwam

Anita is the most spended and beautiful bartender hostess I have had the pleasure of being a patron to in my many many years in forrestport. She is always oh so nice and also oh so easy on the eyes...and soul when a man just needs kind words and even kinder drinks. The wigwam is my home away from home!... Look for the barnwreck plane landing. The pilot sucked,but he lived all the rest of his days at the wigwam. -Benjamin

One of those bars you have to stop and checknout!! Food generally very good! Patrons are what make this place! People from all over headed to Old Forge stop for a beer and chat!

It's okay. The one worker was really nice. The food was meh. I had the chicken Philly and it was so greasy the bread just fell apart and the 'grilled' chicken was just the frozen strips you get in a bag with the fake grill marks. The loaded fries were really good. They do not accept cards so make sure you have cash. That tidbit would have been nice to know before we ordered. What if we only had a credit card?

Good service, food was good, not a lot of room for dining. Only accepts cash. Would of been nice to be informed that before we ordered.

Always told such great burgers. Certainly we're not even close to good. No seasoning at all. Not even salt! They seemed like they were from a box. The bartender, server was not pleasant at all. A a few people at bar. Guess not interested in business and money. Cash only too!

I love dive bars. From the dankest hole in the wall to the most charming local watering hole. The Wigwam had the best of everything you could hope for. We had like 10 people (young kids, teens and adults) and wanted to get lunch. We walked in and the bartender/waitress/cook accommodated all of us. I would draft her to my fantasy bartender league as a starter. She had another 5 to 10 people to take care of other than us. She got drinks, cooked food and served it all herself. Nobody had to wait for anything. The place was clean, cozy and had a real friendly atmosphere. If I was a local, this would be my spot. If I was just passing thru again this would be my spot.

Always a great time here! We love going for the live entertainment, especially when Scot Raymond is singing. The staff is friendly and on the ball. The food is amazing with tons of choices and specials. Be aware that they don't accept cards, so an ATM is provided. If you drink shots and are with others who do the same, make sure you try their shot ski! Don't forget to sign it afterwards!

First time visiting and I will say it was well worth the stop! Great atmosphere friendly staff! Music outside and in with a seating area outside. Definitely someplace to stop if you like older music. All the people that were patrons were friendly too. The chicken cordon Blu balls were amazing!

Our family stopped here while camping in the area. We have passed this landmark many times while traveling into the ADK park. The atmosphere is bar like, but welcoming. We enjoyed the feel of the restaurant and could casually relax. The food was very good, and was homemade. The chicken noodle soup was fantastic, the bacon cheeseburger was done perfectly. My wife tried the "everything" wings and liked them. Everything was good. We will stop here again for lunch sometime.

Everything ordered was excellent, and finding good French fries cooked correctly is somewhat hard to do now a days, especially with all of these chain restaurants taking over.

Order the bacon cheeseburger with onions and peppers. Best burger I've had in a long time. Wash it down with some great local beer, yes please!
