Excellent choice for a special dinner

The food was absolutely amazing, and service was top notch! Definitely a place to go to and enjoy!

Love this place! I cannot say enough. Seriously if you haven't been, you should go. We eat here quite a bit as we live out here. We got the prawns for the first time. They were so good.

Wolf Lodge still has the best steaks!! Never disappointed when we go!! The service was great!! Next time tho, I will ask to not be seated by screaming, unruly children whose parents are incapable if any obvious discipline.

Wolf Lodge is the best steak anywhere! The service is above par. We went for our anniversary and had the best time. Will was our server, and he was attentive and very knowledgeable of all their dishes. The food is cooked to perfection.

We had the best dinner we've had in a long time. I had the Ribeye, cooked med, and it actually came out medium! I usually leave any potatoes for last, but the loaded baked potato was so good that I started on that first. I couldn't finish the potato or the steak. My husband had the Chicken Caesar Salad, and he couldn't finish his either. They bring out free, warm bread, which we ate a little too much of before our meals came. We took home a piece of Huckleberry Cheesecake. We had to try a couple of bites as soon as we got home - it was out of this world! This place is a little on the pricey side, but so worth it. Save your money and make a reservation (they do get packed).

I've probably dined at Wolf Lodge about a dozen times. I have<b> NEVER </b>been disappointed with my meal, which is usually a big fat steak. Everything else has been very good. Would I call it outstanding? The steaks, YES. Everything else? Well no, but in my world traveling experience, everything else at <b>Wolf Lodge Inn</b> has always been <b><u>very good.</u></b> As far as price, I don't go out to eat to save money. I go out to eat for two reasons: to eat because I'm hungry or to go have a fine dining experience with excellent food. I don't have an illusion that both of these reasons are compatible all the time because they aren't. I don't order a pizza thinking I'm going to have an excellent 5 star pizza and dining experience. <b>Wolf Lodge Inn</b> serves a very fine steak and I have not found anyplace that comes close to equaling what <b>Wolf Lodge </b> serves. <b> HIGHLY RECOMMENDED </b> Update 6/24 I took my lady friend who had never been to Wolf Lodge and she was totally impressed. It was Friday and Wolf Lodge served 500 people that night. Still the service was more than adequate and the baked potato was out of this world!!!

This is the ABSOLUTE best place to get a steak. Atmosphere is fun, very kid friendly, hostess was awesome. I'm NEVER disappointed when going there. The food is worth every penny.

Highly recommend making reservations 24hr in advance. As I was solo I was able to find a seat at the bar. I wish I hadn't eaten so late in afternoon as all I ordered was stuffed mushrooms and drink at the bar.

Staff was amazing and food was great!

We ate here with a large party. The service was prompt, with no mistakes. They took orders quickly, brought out the food knowing exactly where each plate should go, which is hard with a large party. The poutine was good, the onion rings were delicious. The fried mushrooms were very good. The steaks were good solid steaks. They were a little over salted, though. Everyone who had a steak thought they were cooked perfectly. We eat ours medium rare. I ate fillet minion, which was good. I have had better, but it was worth the $55.00. I heard that the salmon was delicious from one in our party. The salad was good as well as the soup. I would eat there again. I heard the shrimp was also delicious. The atmosphere is really fun.

We love celebrating special moments at Wolf Lodge! Steaks are cooked perfectly, nothing comes out greasy or heavy, and the drinks are always delicious. Make sure to get a reservation and be ready to grab a cocktail while you wait on busy nights. Definitely give them a try when you're in North Idaho!

Awesome place, the lobster is world class, best ever! Steaks are tender and service is great. The chefs here are no joke.

This is one of those hidden gems out there that is so worth it. From not needing meat sauce to great food and drink options, we'll be going back. The rolls are just sweet enough to enhance the meal and make it a great joy to eat. We were so full we couldn't enjoy a dessert but what I saw looked great.

What isn't there to love about the place? Employees are always friendly. The food amazing. And, I love the ambiance. The only other thing I have to say is, I wish it was closer.

We drive down from Canada every year just to eat here. Best steak I have ever had in my life and continues to be the best steakhouse I've visited. Service is always quick and friendly, the food is incredible, and the vibe is so cozy. Can't wait to come back next summer!

Best steakhouse I’ve ever been to! Love this place. Went here several years ago and made a whole trip up to Coeur D’Alene from tri cities just to go here! Steaks are cooked and seasoned perfectly. The Rocky Mountain oysters are delicious too!

It’s like many old fashioned steak places: you know - margarine with the rolls, salads like your mom would make. They grill everything over tamarack wood which is a bit like mesquite but a little grassy. It’s good although mildly strange. The food came out very very slowly, but I guess sometimes that happens. My wife’s lobster tail was very salty. We skipped dessert because it took an hour for the entree to come out and we didn’t want to be there any longer.

6 stars on everything if I could. A must go to spot .

Enjoyed a good steak here. I thought it was cooked a bit beyond what I had asked for. Flavor was excellent. You can tell this place has been around for a long time and is extremely popular.

The most delicious steak I’ve ever had! We also ordered the huckleberry lemonade and Old Fashioned with muddled huckleberries off the drink menu and those were amazing! Highly suggest dinner here, worth the wait and money!

Finally went here. Very dark inside hard to see the menu, use your phone flashlight. Only plain salad. One temperature of you order the two steak order. High priced place. Stay in CDA, better value.

Best place around! Solid 5 star on all the food, staff and atmosphere. Feel like you’re stepping back in time—best steak I’ve ever had. People say melt in your mouth, this one really did. Big fan of fried pickles and these were different—very rustic but fun and different. Steak, potatoes and stuffed mushrooms I will order again for sure! Our server was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and descriptive in explaining the different menu items so we actually understood what it is we were ordering. Loved it all!

We have lived here for 3 years and everyone is always raving about this place. We had some family in town and finally decided to try it. Wow - we were all blown away with how incredible it was. From the food to the ambiance to the service everything was a 10/10. We cant stop talking about it and how delicious it was. We cant wait to go again when we have family back in town!

Always great food and service. Staff is super friendly. Best place for highest quality steaks, loaded baked potatoes. etc. Can be tough to get in, but they always try to squeeze us in, sometimes without a reservation. Love the rustic style of the building/restaurant. Highly recommend.

Big tender steak. Salmon is good, too. Food is nothing special but good with large portions. Bigger place than it looks like from the front door. Friendly staff with good service. Tables and chairs are old, and chairs are very uncomfortable hard wood with no padding. Lighting is low with some small ramps up and down, so watch your step going to your table.

Great steak! Great atmosphere and service. Local friends referred us to Wolf Lodge for the best steak and dinner and we were not disappointed. Low lighting dinner atmosphere. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms appetizers and they were the best stuffed mushrooms we’ve ever had. We had a Great time. Shannon was our server and had a great personality! Thank you Shannon for making our dinner date even better! We will return!

Wolf Lodge has a great prime rib & sirlion combo, but I was shocked the price went from $50 to $70 from my last visit 2 yrs ago. Probably will have to choose another place that isn't as expensive on my next trip to the area.

Way over priced. Not even worth the drive or the wait. Only good thing we had there was the drinks. I will never recommend this place

We have been eating here since 1995. The steaks have amazing flavor and are fork tender. Love the cabin atmosphere! Everything has remained 5☆ for 29 years! Highly recommended

This is the place that other places wish they were, the benchmark for atmosphere, food, and service. The bartender told me that most of their employees, including the 2 bartenders I met, most of their back-of-house, and the management, has been working there for two decades or more.. That alone says something about the quality of their operation. I had a ribeye with baked potato and my girlfriend had the lil dude with jojo potatoes. Phenomenal! The steaks were grilled perfectly and WOW the jojos!! I liked my baked potato but the jojos were the star of the show. They're deep fried and served with a sort of 'ranch style' sauce.. The bartender said he calls it 'garlic sauce' and the folks in the kitchen call it 'white sauce.' Either way it was a tasty surprise.. Made in-house and completely custom to Wolf Lodge. Speaking of tasty surprises, we each got a small cup of their baked beans included, just another little surprise bonus. The rolls they serve here are so good. This was also a tasty surprise. Everything, literally every piece of the experience, was incredible. One of the coolest things was the environment, you can just feel the vibe in the air. There's nothing fake about it, like when you go to a chain restaurant trying for a 'vibe.' Wolf Lodge sets the standard for this, and I wouldn't be surprised (seriously here) if some of the chain restaurants have sent their people to Wolf Lodge and/or happened upon it and decided to start a chain based off this place.. It's authentic. The people, the environment, the food. We sat at the bar, there's two stools to the left, and it was absolutely the best spot in the place. The bartenders were so rad to chat with, exchanging stories and such. There was a big pepper grinder there as well, and of course I had to use it for fresh cracked pepper on my steak and potato! You get to control the pepper grinder.. Where else is this a possibility? Amazing experience. One last note: the bathrooms. WOW. It's like the whole atmosphere of the place is captured in, of all places, the bathroom. Bring a pen to leave a note or well-wish on the wall!

Food was awesome!! Had double lobster tails and halibut, both cooked to perfection!!. Friend has a cowboy steak. We weren't rushed and our server was very kind and explained all the options for the meals. Stuffed mushrooms was yummy, so were the shrimp skewers.

This restaurant has great food and atmosphere, definitely has a rustic North Idaho feel. The steaks are cooked over an open fire, seasoned to perfection. I've been there several times with friends and family and I've never been disappointed.

The first time here came for Mother's Day. Absolutely the best steaks we have ever had. This is a must if ever in the area.

Was a little disappointing for such a well-rated and expensive restaurant. Atmosphere kinda gave me Unabomber vibes. Super dark, dark wood shingles on the walls. Had the trout and it was a bit over-cooked and over seasoned. The staff were great. Very friendly and helpful.

Good old place to go when they are open

Had the Rancher. 16oz ribeye and 16oz sirloin and boy was it a huge meal. Some of the best steaks I've ever had. WOW 😲. It's extremely dark inside this place, had to use my phone flashlight to see the menu. Lol. Definitely worth the wait. We came back for another feast we both got the porterhouse medium we also got the Rocky mountain oysters and stuffed mushrooms fantastic I've never had the oysters but they were really good and that cocktail sauce was bomb.

Everything about my dining experience was fantastic. If you visit the Idaho panhandle, dinner here is a must!

My wife took me to Wolf Lodge for my birthday. It may seem like a small thing, but there are a couple things that ruin a restaurant experience for us that, as we drove to Wolf Lodge, we wondered how our evening would go. Is the restaurant loud, and is the restaurant cold? Wolf Lodge Inn Restaurant is neither! As soon as we walked in we knew we were going to enjoy our evening together. The whole place is warm and inviting, with many rooms and hallways. It is cozy and comfortable. The waitresses were great - and then the food! It was wonderful. We both ordered rib-eye steaks. Wow!, they were good, as good as any steak I have every eaten - grilled to perfection over a tamarack wood fire. When I asked how long the steaks were aged, our waitress had to consult with the chef. Their steaks are dry-aged 60 days! Great place, great ambience, great steaks, a wonderful place to spend an evening. Highly recommended.

AMAZING all the way around! Steaks were phenomenal, grilled just perfect, green beans and mushrooms and mashed potatoes were very good. As an added surprise was a complimentary dish of huckleberry ice cream with a candle to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Couldn’t have picked a better place to have dinner and celebrate us. Extra kudos to Shandon, wonderful waiter, attentive and caring! ♥️

Wolf lodge is a special place for me and my family. Best food around. Recently went for our anniversary, we go on special occasions only. Prices have went up over last few years but with inflation now a day can't expect anything else but for us still a special meal for us! Make reservations, believe it's required. Enjoy as we do!

This place just gets better and better every visit

First time there, long time hearing about how great it was. Main course foods, (steaks, fish, shrimps etc) AMAZING!!! side dishes, not as much. Something simple like mashed potatoes are instant....for Idaho!!! Come on now. They didn't taste bad but it's a simple change. The drinks were spot on as well.

A famous steak place, and truly one of a kind. Really busy from 5-7:30. If it's your first time, get the ribeye medium rare. And when you go to the bathroom, bring a sharpie.

With 891 reviews, you probably don't need to read this. The best, biggest, steaks by FAR in the entire tri-state area, and I've been to most of them. I've paid twice as much for three times less. Most places offer a porterhouse that looks like a pirate's leather eye patch compared to the monsters they serve here.

Called around 6:30 to see if they were open. After about 20 rings a very unenthusiastic person answers the phone. I ask how late they are open. He says last reservation is 7:45 and after that they shut off the grill and shut down the kitchen. I again ask what time they close and he doesn't even give a straight answer. On Google it says 9pm. Just from interacting with this person made me never want to try this place. Went to Tony's on the lake and had an excellent meal instead.

Great food and service. Halibut was delicious and the New York strip was tender and flavorful. Enjoyed our meal in a quiet atmosphere.

We decided to go here for a birthday dinner for our granddaughter. Food , service and atmosphere were amazing! When we arrived back in Kellogg where we were staying I realized I didn’t have my bag with my wallet. We tried calling the restaurant but they were closed and didn’t reopen until 2 the next day. After a sleepless night we called the restaurant around 1 the next day and they answered. We talked to Sean , who I believe is the owner , and he said he hadn’t seen anything but asked for our number in case he did. He went and looked in the parking lot and again in the restaurant. He called about 5 minutes later and said he had moved a purse and discovered my bag underneath it! We drove to the restaurant to pick it up. My husband offered him some money for his help and Sean said no, this it’s all part of the job! We will definitely come back! We again want to thank Sean for going above and beyond to help me find my wallet! Thank you!

Amazing steak cooked just right !

Best steak I have ever had. Prices were very reasonable compared high-end steak houses, but the steaks are honestly better and the sides were equally delicious. Don’t skip the desserts, they were all equally fantastic. Service was top notch and the old west atmosphere is great.

If you need a steak this is the place to go!! The porterhouse 24oz is always cooked to perfection :) Love this place . I always have an amazing experience here for special occasions.

I’ve had the pleasure of eating here numerous times and they never let you down. We recently ate at a very famous steakhouse in Nashville, and I would like the folks at Wolf Lodge to know that they outperformed by far. The Filet Mignon was on point! We can’t wait to come back for another superb meal!!!

I really liked the food and location. Nice to drive out and feel like you're at a private place. Apon entering tho I felt like it was less fancy than you're lead to believe. Other than that it was a wonderful time and if you're from Washington the price just isn't that bad. Nice fire taste to the steaks. Overall pretty great birthday.

This is a great place to go out to eat off the path near Coeur d’Alene. Had a great date with my wife and shared a great steak with some shrimp and salad. Fantastic service as always just make sure you make a reservation they do get busy.

This off the beaten path restaurant is by far my favorite. I've been coming here since I was a kid and I love it more each time. The environment, the food and the location or all amazing. I will always come here and always bring people here!

My comment as we were mid dinner... These people are obviously experienced restaurateurs. This is because I was a Hospitality major at one of the top 2 rated Hospitality management schools in the country. 1rst the restaurant was divided into small rooms with 4-5 tables in each room. Very intimate. Next, the dinner rolls came warm with SOFT butter for spreading. Normally, the potato option only allows "loaded" on the baked. They will also let you load the mashed. THEN...the steak came. I got the Ribeye. The wood fire grill flavor permeated this amazing cut of beef. Normally I eat steak with garlic butter. It could not have been more unnecessary with this steak. I have to say, it was in the top 5 of steaks that I have had in my lifetime. The finally was the bread pudding. I am a bread pudding connoisseur, and this again was probably the best I have ever had. Normally, I cover the pudding with ice cream or cream sauce. This came with a caramel sauce. I realized halfway through that I had not even touched the ice cream. This is a must do if you are in the area.

Wolf Lodge never disappoints and the price is definitely reasonable for a steakhouse. We made a reservation on a holiday weekend and had no issues, the wait staff was excellent!
