Went to Abstrakt for lunch with a few workmates today. The atmosphere is very basic but believe me the food is not. This was my first experience with Filipino food and I was blown away. The flavors were so amazing, I couldn’t stop eating. The staff are super friendly. The digital menus were a neat twist. If you are craving Filipino food or something different you can’t go wrong with Abstrakt!

I love this place! The food is always vibrant and bursting with flavor. Ultra consistent. I’ve never had a bad dish, but the pork sisig is my absolute favorite. My wife always gets the chicken tocino bowl. The Brussel sprouts in that dish are amazing. (And I don’t even like Brussel sprouts) Make sure to leave room for dessert. So GOOD! Warm friendly service. And you can tell the food is made with love. Thank you Chef Jojo for another great dinner!

My first time having Filipino food. I ordered the lumpia as an appetizer, the chicken pancit as my entree, and the dessert sampler. The lumpia did not taste fresh or flavorful; the meat inside was rubbery. The pancit smelled a bit rancid and was very bland. The dessert platter looked beautiful, but many of the items lacked flavor. Our waitress Maria was wonderful.

We ordered crispy pork belly adobo, lumpia and chicken tocino bowl. Lumpia dish had about 9 beautiful brown and crispy rolls served with lumpia Shanghai dipping sauce (sweet and sour). My boyfriend had the chicken tocino bowl. I only had a bite of it so I was not able to fully experience it. He did say it was very filling and delicious. More rice compared to my dish. I ordered the crispy pork belly adobo. I asked our waitress if it was crispy and she said it was “very crispy”. With that response, I was expecting a harder crunch when biting it. The pork belly had a light, flaky exterior but when you bite into it, the fat melts in your mouth and the meat was tender. The green pea puree sauce was rich and creamy with a slight sweetness to it. The portion of the sauce was a little excessive to the point where it was overwhelming in flavor. I feel a smaller serving would go a long way. I dipped the pork belly in it and the flavors complemented each well. The portion of rice was not as generous as the puree. I do understand that Abstrakt is more of a high end of Filipino cuisine but I did wish my dish had a bit more rice as I had to ration it according to the size of the pork belly. Overall, it was a delicious meal and we will definitely come back to try out other entrees.

Myself being filipino I am always happy and proud of any restaurant featuring my "soul food". This is technically a fusion of that home cooking and sometimes that may spell disaster. In this case the filipino heart is there and you can taste it but with a twist. Excellent! And felt at home with the owner and chef saying hello to his Familia. I liked that alot. You have to try this place. You won't be disappointed

Please stop asking for tips on take out orders… If your boss is not compensating you fairly then that should not fall on the customers… this practice is distasteful and it’s really getting out of hand. You don’t see Wendy’s cashier asking for tips and they do the exact same job.

I don’t know why I’ve waited to review Abstrakt when it seriously is so damn delicious. What better way to show some love for this amazing Filipino restaurant but to share during Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage month! I’ve been here a couple of times now since my first visit end of 2023. It’s officially become one of my top 5 restaurants to visit & dine in. It’s comfortable, casual, & if you come early enough, there is very little to no wait or reservation needed. The location couldn’t be better ~ Beachside! I’m not the best planner so the fact that I don’t have to make a reservation in advance to dine here, plus enjoy an early bird special for dinner really is a treat! The portion sizes always allow for leftovers the next day; and I truly appreciate that. With Abstrakt being so close to my parent’s house, I’m always looking for an excuse to make my way over here. This entire restaurant treats you like family no matter who you are- newbie or regular. This is completely unrelated, but worth an honorable mention: Every time I visit, I always notice that every server here looks like they part time model for a Pantene or herbal essence commercial on the side. Each server has lush, surfer hair. It really gives that extra island flair no one asked for, but it doesn’t go unnoticed. It’s a nice touch. I feel like I’m dining at a chill/laid back Disney restaurant - all of the small details were included when creating chef Jojo’s brick & mortar to really set it apart from all the others. Nice job!!! This low key Disney adult (hard stress on low key) loves the added flair. Please save room for dessert here guys, I can’t stress that enough. Box up those entrees and eat the dessert in house. For this particular restaurant, lunch or dinner, you’ll want to order an appetizer or two, various entrees for the table, AND dessert. If you are familiar with Asian desserts, normally they aren’t overloaded with sugar you immediately feel all over your teeth like our American cakes and ice cream. It the perfect amount of sugar to give it a sweet essence, but not be overbearing what so ever. Also, ask for the seasonal tea! It’s got a little bit of a zing to it, a small tart feature that’s extremely delicious. Now that this review has been a copious amount of of random thoughts all over the place; if you read this whole thing, bless your heart. Thank you for sticking around and hopefully after reading this novel, you’ll put Abstrakt on your list of places to try next!

This is my honest take — no sugar coating; gave y’all another try. I absolutely hate giving 1 star but I had to. The taste is catering to Americans who don’t know what Authentic Filipino food IS. The taste of the lumpia was horrible. You can go fusion but man, I can’t. Salty with no flavor. It’s so upsetting because I want to support local Filipino businesses and I’ve been hoping to find a good Filipino restaurant with the ambiance. + Please don’t call it “Longanisa” and it’s a pattie. It would’ve been ok if it tastes the same but it’s not. Maybe marinate it with some garlic, onion powder, maybe a little bit of brown sugar, paprika, ground pepper? Food bloggers are lying with those reviews imo.

Very good Filipino food, and they mean authentic with a twist. I've been to the Philippines and recognized the real deal in the Lumpia, Adobo and Oxtails. But the garnishes and sauce flavors are a real unique essence to their food. The restaurant was clean, open and had nice large tables. The service was good, with waitstaff only serving 2-3 tables, so very good attention and service. Very family friendly. Parking was not bad early, but I don't know about later in the evening, there are many bars and other eateries in this area. I really enjoyed it in every respect and highly recommend, especially if you know good Filipino cooking.

Came here the second time last Saturday , we love their food but the service was disappointing at first, was seated and nobody even greet and ask for a drink for at least 10-15 minutes, I’m a person that supports my fellow business owners, customer service is a must. No question with the food, Chef Jojo is excellent 👍 my husband and I love the traditional food with a twist. It’s hard to please my American husband when it comes to Filipino food, if he likes the food, we will definitely comes back even if the service is not up to par. I would’ve give 5 stars but need improvement with the service, Atmosphere still needs improvement but it will get there. I highly recommend this place for an authentic with a twist Filipino food😊

This place was easy to find and in a nice little spot. It's a quaint restaurant with a lot of nice decor. Before we ate, the chef let us know he was formerly a food truck, now a brick and mortar store front. I tried the tea they had, and it was really good. I've never had lumpia, and had to cut the meat from the wrappers since it had gluten, but I used the sauce it came with to dip the meat in, and it tasted amazing. The sandwiches were next, and also yummy. I did take the bread off since I can't have gluten, but the toppings and pickles were great. The next two menu items were also delicious. I've never had fried egg before. I ate some of the egg white and mixed the rest into the rice. Couldn't even taste the yolk. I had also never seen the kind of magenta/fuschia chicken before, but it still tastes great. I took the few spicy pieces I could find, out, since it was super hot for me. The Uber cheesecake was also good. Tasted just like cheesecake. I just didn't eat the crust. This place is definitely amazing and I would love to go back sometime when I'm in the area.

We came for lunch and the menu was minimal and I had a hard time picking what I wanted to try because screamed at me on the menu. The food was okay, not great. Service was good but it wasn't crowded when we were there. I do wish it was more traditional Flilipino food. So we decided to try this place out today for Sunday brunch as we walk in, we are greeted by the waitress. We ordered our drinks and ordered some appetizers and our main courses all at the same time. Shortly after placing our order, the waitress brings us our drinks and that’s the last we saw of anything for 45 minutes. They didn’t bring us the salad appetizers or food as we just sat there staring into space. My wife had an appointment across town and after 45 minutes of waiting we asked if our order had even been started yet and the waitress said no it has not been started yet and it would be about another 20 minutes before they could so we canceled the order and left. I understand if your staff is overwhelmed by having a few tables of people, but when new people come in and sit down to eat you should explain to them that there will be a wait not just let them sit there wondering what’s going on. I gave it a three star review because the waitress was friendly and offered us our drinks for free because we had to wait and then leave without any food and the restaurant was very clean, but I cannot rate the food as we did not receive any. 🫤🫤 we did, however, have a long enough wait to take pictures of the menu 🤷‍♂️

The best Filipino restaurant we have tried! I have eaten from the food truck before but this was my first time in the sit down restaurant. The menu is clean and simple without an overwhelming amount of choices. The place is cute with a nice casual vibe. The food we had was outstanding! We started with the lumpia, which was hot, fresh, and with juicy meat. I ordered the pork belly sisig bowl, which was absolutely delicious and not spicy as the pepper would lead you to believe. My boyfriend got the chicken tocino bowl, and while it was very tasty, it wasn’t as good as the pork belly sisig and we really didn’t get any flavor of tocino. What impressed us a lot was the rice as it was cooked perfectly, so fluffy and with nice flavor. I also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts instead of an appetizer size, and the side was more than enough! The sprouts were another standout and were some of the best we have tried in Jacksonville. They were SO crispy without being greasy and with great flavors. Definitely recommend this dish, and go for the side order unless you want an entree sized plate of sprouts! For dessert we ordered the turon, but all of the options sounded amazing. The ube ice cream was delicious, and the combo with crispy plantain was nice, but for me there was too much plantain and it was really thick. Overall, every dish was a pleasure and we are excited to come back and try some different things!

Feels like home away from home. And also, the Pandan ice cream is excellent.

The food here is different and tasty. I highly recommend their unique subs. I haven't actually tried a regular everyday kind here.

On Saturday August 31, 2024 our organization brought 70 people (40 of them were children) to Jeremiah's for desert. Keep in mind this was 8pm on Labor Day weekend. Their staff was so patient with us.
