Came in on a Friday night- looking for another restaurant. Apparently the restaurant was rebranded last year, no new signage. Akasaka and Amura are the same place, BOTH signs present. The hostess was great and laughed it off and introduced herself too, with two names. Sat as a 3 top, ordered 3 soft drinks, one app, 4 rolls, one dinner. We were seated next to an obnoxious 12 top, with half the restaurant vacant. The server kept asking us to repeat our order because it was so loud. The app and dinner showed up when we were done with the rolls, after asking three times. Food was okay. Shrimp tempura dinner was $22 for 4 pieces of small shrimp and some Caucasian veggies. The sauces were weird. The gyoza sauce was overly salty, same sauce given for the tempura dinner. The American crunchy was weirdly dry, but sitting in water on the dish. For almost $150 after tip, not worth it, will not be back

Me and my boyfriend went from west palm to try this restaurant because we saw it on tiktok. DO NOT eat any of there entrees i got the seafood soup and my boyfriend got the katsu don curry. Both were bad the soup i had made me want to vomit on the ride back the soup was just horrible. I rarely want to vomit but this food made me want to even more my boyfriend who always finishes his food didn’t finish his either. We were severely disappointed because the food was expensive as well. I would not recommend this place because it is overpriced and the entrees sucked. If you do go here stick to sushi. The bao buns as well were disappointing had a lot of mayo and cheap lettuce in it and did not taste like anything but mayo.

It was our first time at the restaurant. There's absolutely nothing special about this place, considering the amount of the reviews that we went for. The sushi/rolls menu was very extensive yet repetitive in a way, printed in a very small font that was extremely difficult to read even for the person who has no vision problems. The food wasn't anything special. The spicy tuna roll was good. The chicken lobster roll was very chewy with little to no cream cheese inside of it. Our server, the guy I don't know the name of, since he never introduced himself, wasn't bad, but still lacking a lot of service skills. Overall experience didn't meet our expectations, and we won't be back

I went for a birthday dinner with my family. The first thing I noticed was that the AC was broken. Akasaka was using portable units to try to keep it cool, but it was still noticeably warm. The atmosphere was fine, but maybe how warm it was affected how I felt. It's like a sushi restaurant vibe mixed with a k-pot...which is weird. As for the food, the first thing I noticed was that their pajeon, wasn't pajeon! This place is called Korean-Japanese, but I remember it USED to be just Japanese! I guess they added Korean stuff to the menu because it's popular. I show what they brought out, "pajeon"(Korean seafood pancake). What was brought out (photo) was okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake with toppings), not pajeon. Don't call it pajeon. Maybe to someone who's never had pajeon it's fine, but please either change what's listed on the menu to okonomiyaki, or actually make pajeon. Also, It was very heavy with batter. We also ordered a sushi boat and the trio tartare. I usually expect a tartare to be served with chips, which it wasn't. The sushi boat was fine. However everything on the menu was pretty expensive, considering what we actually got. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody who actually wants good food. It was not bad per say, but way too pricey, mediocre food, and they need to figure out what their menu is supposed to be. I give them two stars cause it wasn't so bad I would leave.

I enjoyed the meal. Malaysian Curry was excellent and served piping hot. My wife liked her Beef Bulgogi. Son really loved the Chicken Teriyaki from adult menu with double rice, no veggies. I have never had a better experience at a restaurant, words don’t even come close to describe how satisfied I was. The food was perfect, the service was incredible and extremely attentive, the desert was to die for. I will absolutely be sharing and recommending this restaurant, and will be back very soon.

One word: WOW! This place is amazing, the prices are amazing and the portions are phenomenal. They have good variety in terms of their sushi rolls and other main dishes. We were seated instantly and the food came out within 5 minutes if that! The cherry on top was the great service, everyone there goes above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience. Absolutely loved it here.

Came here with family and ordered the miso soup and the fiery garlic shrimp and a roll of spicy tuna. I enjoyed the miso soup but it only has one tiny slice of meat. The fiery garlic shrimp was a joke for $22. Do not order it as it is basically baby shrimp covered in batter, ridiculous. The spicy tuna roll was bland and meh in my opinion. I don’t think I will come back here but I will say the service was great!

We were really impressed with Akasaka Sushi! The decor strikes the perfect balance between casual and elegant, creating a great atmosphere. We started with the crispy calamari, which was cooked perfectly, and the Super Volcano Roll, which was not only delicious but also beautifully presented – totally Instagram-worthy! We also ordered three hibachi dishes, and the portions were generous and packed with flavor. Our server, Jessica, was attentive and friendly, even with the place being busy. We’re definitely recommending Akasaka Sushi to anyone visiting the Dr. Phillips area in Central Florida.

I had a phenomenal solo dining experience when I recently dined here for a business trip. The sushi was so fresh and beautifully presented. The ginger dressing was so good I asked for extra to have some on every bite. The atmosphere was lovely and chill, exactly what I needed after a long work day.

The food here is definitely a hit or a miss with no in between. I've tried several items on the menu and for the most part it's just been average. I will admit the bento boxes that they have during lunch hours that they don't advertise for whatever reason are a fantastic value and are delicious and in all honesty are the only reason why I come to this restaurant in the first place. Outside of the bento boxes, this restaurant definitely seems to advertise itself as a high caliber Japanese/Korean restaurant with prices that try to match it, but the execution isn't really there and could definitely be done better. The sushi is just average for a sushi restaurant and the ramen is no where near the level you can get across the street at Domu. The main entrees such as the trio delight are not worth the price of admission. I believe this place is a victim of biting off more than they can chew as supported by some of the other negative reviews. A more consolidated menu that focuses on delivering a focused line of high quality, delicious items would probably help significantly and allow for consistent quality control versus having to accomodate for over 50+ dishes (not including all of the different sushi rolls).

I was excited to try food at the place so highly rated, but when I pulled up I realized it’s the same place where Amura restaurant used to be, so it’s the same place essentially just rebranded. The menu was very similar to the one I remember, so I ordered Hawaiian Ahi Poke Tuna which used to be wonderful. I can’t say it was not good, but it was certainly not as good as it used to be. Different presentation slightly differently made. Pineapple was canned rather than fresh one which was disappointing. Mixed greens were bit tired looking. I also ordered yellowtail sashimi. It was clearly frozen before because it was a little icy in some spots and not the temperature I would expect the fresh fish to be served. The server was very attentive, and overall a nice ambience, but I cannot say that the food was amazing. It wasn’t bad either, but I know many options in town that are much better in my opinion.

**The rating for this resturant is boosted** The food was so so. Fried rice and bugolgi were fine, spicy Korean carbonara was bland. We waited for awhile for the food to arrive. The reason they have so many good reviews is that they give you free dessert if you show them that you reviewed, which of course artifically boosts their star rating and review count. It’s a pretty deceptive practice.

Good food, delicious sushi..Great Service

If you don’t mind not having a/c, waiting long, below average sushi, dry chicken, throwing money away, then this place is for you. Employees walk by us and ask us if we are ok-while nothing on our table yet, but once food came they didn’t ask, never refilled our water.. lol

I felt compelled to share my unfortunate experience with this restaurant. #1 AC not working. My family was sweating during dinner. #2 I ordered the Trio Delight and the food came out cold (Veggies tasted like they were just defrosted and the chicken was dry and not tender) I wouldve rather had a TV dinner. My guest ordered bulgogi with rice There was more onion than meat. Not worth the prices they charge. #3 Our server didn't even check on us to refill our drinks or ask us how our food was. #4 We ordered a lobster roll. Let's just say that the sushi quality is better at publix. I have never had a worse asian dining experience in my life.

The food was fair enough. The ramen was 1/2 the normal size and noodles were over done. The sushi that other tables ordered looked good so that was probably better.

My girlfriend and i liked the rolls. Ingredients are good. I would avoid the coconut shrimp from the appetizer. They fried it too long, making it hard and burnt. The men's restroom needs some work but the main dinning area looks good.
