Absolutely the worst bbq I've ever had!!!! Brisket and pork was dry, collards and Mac n cheese was bland!!! Burnt ends were inedible, and very upset that this anything other than bbq!!!!

Absolutely fantastic! If I could give more stars I would, this place is absolutely worth it at a wonderful price! The servers were the kindest people that I've interacted with! And don't even get me started on the food! Beautiful flavor and cooked to perfection! We got Papa's Platter with smoked Jalapeños and our sides were Mac and cheese, Mac salad, baked beans, and fries. 10/10 on everything! The brisket melted in your mouth and the Moinks are amazing!! If you're in the area, definitely stop by!

We went to Artman for lunch today, we really enjoyed the food our first visit and were excited to try them again. While the sides were delicious the brisket and St Louis ribs seemed to have been held over from the previous day. Both ribs and brisket were dry, the ribs had a lot meatier in the previous visit. The 4 sides listed in favorite order were slaw, baked beans, broccoli rice casserole and mac and cheese. The BBQ sauce is pretty good, they have regular, hot and mustard. The restaurant is very clean and inviting and the service is amazing.

Best brisket AROUND....a bit expensive but so is Milk.....I need to know the rub or what they put on it before smoking....is it a secret????? I'd love to know!

I have eaten at Artman's twice and the taste quality wasn't consistant. The second time I ate there the fried items tasted like the oil in the fryers was old or overused. The pulled pork wasn't that great. I probably won't be compelled to return and try a third time.

Great food and great service! We got "The Feast" along with a brisket and ribs platter and an order of burnt ends. The food was seasoned well and delicious! The brisket wasn't dry and neither was the chicken. You can always judge a BBQ restaurant by their brisket and chicken. We ordered to-go, but there are tables inside and outside. Everyone we talked to was friendly and attentive, so I'm sure the tableside service is just as good. The only thing I would change is the garlic bread: it was a little overdone (but this isn't a deal breaker unless you're a bread fanatic). Overall absolutely would recommend!

Fast and friendly service. We love BBQ this was our first time eating there AND WE WILL BE GOING BACK AND TELLING EVERYONE WE KNOW about it.

Have been eating here for 2-3 years. The brisket is phenomenal and the pulled pork is good as well. The sides are the best of any BBQ restaurant around. I saw another BBQ restaurant near Miller’s Ale House rated 4.7. If that place is a 4.7 Artmans should be a 5.7!

I love bbq. Cooking it myself or dining out. The sides were all good. Beans, green beans, coleslaw, and mac and cheese. The brisket was good. It had a very good flavor profile. I thought the potion size was good. My only criticism was it was a bit greasy. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. I like this establishment, and we will be going back to check out some of their other dishes. P S I had the apple cobbler for dessert. It was very good.

My boyfriend had the best beef brisket of his life. I got Mac & cheese, fried green tomatoes, and broccoli casserole. This was the real deal, the taste of southern that some people try to duplicate but it comes out wrong because they’re cutting corners. I enjoyed the food immensely, it was all fresh and done up like my memories.

Love this place! Selena was a wonderful server and the food was fantastic! You won't be disappointed! Try the Moinks, brisket , broccoli rice casserole, Peppa Pig and blackberry cobbler! Sweet tea is very good too.

The 3 of us each had the New Papa's Special with Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Sliced Chichen. The Brisket was a little dry to my liking, but the pulled pork was absolutely on point. The sliced chicken, however, was surprisingly the best tasting of the meats; nicely seasoned and moist. Another surprising treat was the accompanying Moinks, cheese meatballs wrapped in bacon. I also enjoyed the corn casserole, broccoli & rice casserole, potato salad, and mac & cheese; all were great! We'll definitely visit the next time we're in town!

Finally tried Artman Country Smokehouse last night. The food was very good. Nice lil place and service was very good. Thank you Angelica... We will certainly be back. Our new Bar B Que spot!

The first two times I ate brisket at Artman's it was amazing. It was juicy, delicious and melted in my mouth. The last time we went, it was disappointingly tough and dry. When I mentioned it to the server, she said you have to specify that you want "the fatty side", which I had never been told before, and as I said, it had previously been delicious. We went back today, and specifically ordered the brisket from the "fatty side". Again, it was disappointingly tough and dry. It was like ordering a medium rare steak, and receiving well done. Very disappointing. Reluctant to go back, because we just don't know if it'll be good or not, and it's not cheap. $50 for lunch for two.

Small dining area but not a long wait for a table and the food was well worth the wait. The meat wasn't over cooked or over smoked. The sides were delicious and all freshly made.

First time eating there, but it won't be the last ! Great food and service.

The beef brisket is to die for. The sides are ample and delicious. I had green beans with kielbasa and potatoes, macaroni salad, and corn brea Crystal, our server, was terrific! They were short two servers, and she still did a fantastic job!

Good food...great brisket...pulled pork was just Ok, a tad dry. The sides were all delicious! Awesome potato salad. Skip the Moinks- sounds good but nothing special.

Great little place with big flavor.

The best place for eating smoked meat with homemade country sides. Our server was fast and friendly taking our drink order and food order at the same time. This was our first visit to Artman's. The young lady who brought our food kept returning checking on our drinks and making sure everything was tasty. It was. We all ordered a side salad and it was all fresh produce. The serving size was perfect. You won't regret stopping to eat or ordering takeout.

We ordered two lemonades, an iced tea, brisket sandwich add shredded cheddar on a roll with Mac n cheese and a moink, a brisket plate with fries, garlic bread, & Mac n cheese, and half a chicken with collards, corn bread, green beans. EVERYTHING was perfect, tender, and flavorful. I didn’t even try the sauces. The server was on-top it!

We will definitely be back here! The food was delicious and the meat was so tender and flavorful. Prices are great for the portions they provide. Sweet tea was not too sweet and delicious. The inside is a little small for the amount of people that come in but we were seated rather quickly and it wasn't too crowded once we sat down. The male waiter that served us was super busy and working so hard but he was very attentive and kind.

Surprisely, the food was disappointing. Artman's has always been a favor. The food seemed leftover and rewarmed, dried out ribs and pulled pork, mushy greens, fatty greasy brisket.

I have been here before and really enjoyed the smoked brisket, baked beans, macaroni and cheese. This time I decided to try something different. The Chicken Fried Steak. It was the perfect crispiness and hot when it arrived. It came with mashed potatoes and gravy. My husband had the smoked meat trio sandwiches. They were not warm when they came out but the server made it right and brought him a new plate.

First the food; I ordered a Rib and Brisket platter. The ribs were excellent and I ate them first as they were on top of the brisket. The brisket was one big slab. The top part was cut with the grain and was tough, so I flipped it over and it was gristle. Apparently they had not separated the point cut from the flat cut, and I got the inbetween. I had already filled up on sides (which were OK, a little overcooked. and the collard greens had no real flavor). My brother and his GF asked how the liver was and the waitress said she never ate it but had been told by patrons it was the best ever. Well, theirs was overcooked and like shoe leather. She came over to ask how things were (I hadn't gotten to the brisket yet). They were honest, she was very sorry and bought her a half chicken in replacement (She said it was dry and overcooked). My brother soldiered on and finished his sides. We didn't see her again until we got the check. She asked if I wanted a box and I showed her the inedible "brisket". She seemed puzzled when I explained and said that's how brisket is. Since we were done and leaving I didn't ask for any adjustment to the bill and she didn't offer. My friend Ted got a slider platter with pulled pork, brisket and pulled chicken sliders and was very happy. The place has little atmosphere and is incredibly noisy; they were very busy so we saw our waitress very little. The food takes a long time to come out but they do advise on that as it's all made to order. If you do go have the ribs and/or sliders. None of the sides were noteworthy.

I have been to BBQ places in at least a dozen states and the Pitmaster at Artman’s knows his craft! The ribs were coated with a fantastic dry rub and cooked to perfection and the OMG! Brisket was out-of-this world, juicy, tender and sliced thick so it didn’t dry out as i ate my ribs. I agree with The Hive that Artman’s is in the top 1% of Smokehouses, but in the US! In many states, people would wait in line for an hour for Q this good!

Got the brisket and ribs. This place is top notch. I try BBQ all over the place here in FL and it is very difficult to find actual brisket. The ribs were also excellent, tender but not totally fall off the bone. Everything was just excellent. The fries were super hot and well seasoned. This place is in top 1% of BBQ joints I have been to in Florida.

That was the most attractive, moist and delicious chicken ever….even the breast meat!

The food was wonderful. We went around 5:30pm, and they had so much business that they were running out of items. I will go back and try what I missed this time.

1/17/24 Goods and bads. Waitstaff Crystal could use some training. Asked for to go box which she never brought so I had to ask a different server. She did not not check on us until we were nearly done eating and she got a bad attitude when I kindly asked if I could go to the counter with her while she ran my credit card (obviously she has never had her CC compromised). She seemed to take it personally and even made an extra unnecessary comment after running my card. Ordered the New Papa's special which was plenty for the two of us. Meat had good flavor. Brisket was slightly dry but brisket is a challenge to perfect. Please don't get angry at establishments that run out of food as they are trying to balance how much to cook so they don't have to throw food out (which drives cost up) or serve it the next day. Maybe consider going closer to opening to ensure everything is available. We went in about an hour before closing and they were out of their Moinks but that's our fault for going close to closing time. We felt the potato salad and green beans could have had more flavor, kind of blah. The corn casserole was great. Baked beans and collard greens were soso, again flavor. Baked beans are always better when meat (pulled pork or brisket) is added to the beans and I can only hope they make this change. Food temps were good, ice tea good, felt the price was good for the amount of food. We will return at some point and hope Crystal is not our server.

Small place, but that usually helps to keep the food good without issues of losing customer service. The food was good. Ordered pulled chicken sandwich with a small Caeser salad and Mac salad. Also a pulled pork sandwich with fries and regular salad. And sliders with broccoli rice casserole. The meat had some fat in it to give it that extra flavor. Lots of flavor. Tastes very good.

We were looking for somewhere different to get lunch, and Artman Country Smokehouse showed up on Google maps. Let's try it. All I can say is WOW, it was great. We need to get back before we leave the area. Everything was great. Service was super fast. Great, great job, crew. We are telling others about this awesome smokehouse.

It was my first time there. I ordered take out of brisket, BBQ beans and potato salad. I lived in TX a long time and am very fussy about my brisket. Theirs was outstanding! Fork tender, nice bark on it, not fatty. Potato salad was excellent too, German-mustard style. BBQ beans were so-so. They were extremely sweet with no meat bits in them. They tasted like canned beans where they added brown sugar. They were busy and I stood there awhile -- maybe 6-7 minutes - before I was acknowledged. People passed me 5 times. One of them could have said that they would be with me in a moment. Other than that they were great. The place as also very clean! I will be back!

Good food and service. I came late on a cool Sunday evening. They close at 5 PM on Sunday. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Would love to say how the food was, but never got the chance to try anything. Went there for lunch with my mom today, we’ve passed by the place quite a few times and have wanted to give it a try. We walked in and were excited by how good it smelled in there … we were told to seat ourselves, which we did. Then we just sat there and watched as people after us came and got helped while we sat ignored. At least two tables were sat after us and given menus and a couple of people’s take out orders were taken. We hadn’t even received a menu yet, it had barely even been acknowledged that we were there. We finally just gave up and left, figured we weren’t welcome there. Definitely won’t be back.

First time here and was served chicken wings that were under cooked, took back to counter and they said we temp check our food and I said you may but look there is blood. She said we will dip them again and only brown the sauce on them and still had blood in large wings. Just took them home and will place in the air fryer. So, I just shared my husband's rib plate. It was good.

Very homey and intimate inside, not much of a “vibe” for dining as it felt like we were sitting in a house but the food was very very good. We each had a “Moink” ball to start us off as we waited for our entrée, the bacon was flavorful and the mustard sauce added a nice touch. The food was moist and tender, it was hard to resist eating all of the massive plate, but I wanted left overs. I heard good things about the corn casserole, it was good, but not for me.

Pretty much everything we tried here was absolutely delicious! We travel for most of the year and have had BBQ all over the nation and this was one of our top ones! We had the Moinks as an Appetizer. Scrumptious bacon-wrapped meatball with cheese in the center. Get some! Also we tried the corn fritters as an app. Custardy corn filling. Hard to describe but also delicious. Then I had the Burnt Ends, which is listed as an app but I ate it as my meal. Moist, flavorful. Love the seasoning crust. My husband raved about his pulled pork and corn bread which was more like a corn cake. Usually a throw away side. Not here. Well worth it. Make the trip and check out this smokehouse.

Great place. Massive quantities of food

We enjoy dining in and taking this food to go. We usually eat early and Artman has great specials for early birds. My husband loves that the specials aren’t restrictive - plenty to choose from. I like that they have a lot of different options for their sides. Their portions are substantial for the price in my opinion. Their staff is great too. They seem to enjoy their job and take pride in keeping the restaurant clean and comfortable. The employees are one step ahead bringing out togo boxes, drinks, sauces, etc. We do take this barbecue to go as well- every experience has been exceptional. Excellent food and excellent service at a reasonable price- you can’t go wrong 👍🏻

Very good comfort food. The location is near a train crossing and the atmosphere is a mom-and-pop vibe.

First time here and was very impressed with the food and the staff. Had to try the moinks and they were sooooo good. Will definitely go back the next time I am in the area. Google moinks if you don't know what they are.

Went on a recommendation and was not impressed 😔. Food was meh and nothing I couldn't make at home with my kids. Value was borderline pricey for the portion sizes and the sauces didn't help the flavor of the unseasoned meat that appeared to be from a crockpot and the sides were lackluster. No service and no Wi-Fi, enough parking for the 10 tables. Won't be back for another visit.

The Early-bird Special is not on the menu. You have to ask for it. Lots of BBQ pork or chicken and two sides with texas toast or cornbread. Delicious!

We first learned about Artman's at a gender reveal party a couple months ago. We were so impressed with the food that I used them to cater my fiance's 60th birthday party this past weekend. There was a delivery fee, which I was happy to pay so I didn't have to make the 60-mile roundtrip drive. The delivery driver was very nice, she arrived early, but she kept the food in warming boxes in her car till it was time to carry it in the venue. As for the food, it was a huge hit!!! Everybody loved it! At least half of the guests at the party asked where the bbq was from. Rave reviews for the brisket and the mac and cheese. Personally, my faves are the moinks, pulled pork, and corn bread. Thank you to, I believe, Vallery for helping me plan my menu and scale back on some of the things I could supply myself, but even more than that, thank you for the discount and working with me on the final price. It was a great party and a great day!!! I highly recommend Artman's and will most definitely use them again for future events.

Horrible.. 5:50pm Friday they are out of ribs, brisket, pulled pork - Are you serious?! Sliced chicken on salad was low quality with fatty/mushy skin on it and gristle on ends of each slice. A fast food salad is better. Liver and onions had 1 piece of onion and was so greasy had to soak up the grease with paper towels.

Pulled pork sandwich had sever pieces of pork that was way over done so you could not possibly eat it. Fried mushrooms had a odd taste. Fries were good. Could not eat the pork sandwich. I have had them before and they used to be good. Landscaping was a mess so I would not eat outside.

I thought the food was pretty bad. As someone who has had a smoker in his backyard his whole life, I couldn't eat it. Why no bark on the ribs? Where they boiled then put on the grill? Very tough!

I really really enjoy all the food I try today...Pulled Pork, Sliced Chicken & Ribs. But the Ribs were to die for. I also tried 3 of the sides all delicious. The service & server was great! Over the last 9 years I have eaten at Artman's a dozen times & never had a bad meal. There are a few other BBQ places closer to me & they are good...but not as good a Artman's. I'm going start driving the extra distance & to go there.

I've been coming here for over 7 years. The food is excellent. The service is fast and polite. The atmosphere is comfortable. I rarely eat there; but get "to go" 90% of the time. A rack of ribs when family is visiting, a meal for a coworker's birthday. . .I have never once had an issue with the quality of their food. While the service is fast and friendly enough, I have noticed a consistent pattern of lack of appreciation or any acknowledgement of gratitude for "to go orders tipping", none; nada, ZERO! When we completed the transaction today for $22.50 and I gave $25, once again there was no acknowledgement, whatsoever. I say, "thank you', and receive a, "you're welcome"; every single time. I know that not every customer tips, for to go food. I'm sure that some are more generous than 10%. It is a tough economy and people are tightening up the purse strings. This is likely a jar that is tip shared amongst all the employees, I'm not going to punish everyone who's working that day for someone's lack of customer service. Please talk to your employees about changing their message from, "you're welcome" to "Thank you for visiting us today". It matters.

Around 20 minutes from the Villages in Florida. We were over from England and loved this place. Amazing food and friendly service. Really good BBQ and ribs. The red velvet cake was ginormous and freshly home made. Big portions, affordable and a real taste of the South!

Got the feast which is for 4 people. Pros: Not covered in barbeque sauce. Food ok for the most part. Cons: Not accustomed to room temp food though the side dishes were hot. Fries tasted reheated. Corn casserole looked like mush with no flavor. Very impersonal but efficient service. Was a birthday visit and told both staff members about it and neither acknowledged it all. Every party that walked thru the front door were greeted by a yell across the room telling them to sit where they wished.

Quantity relaxing . Fast service,pleasant people. All food we have tried has been very good.Finally did the fried geen tomatoes very good.. We have returned multiple times.

The absolute best best brisket I've ever had ( and I've tried many many places ). Portion size big, server was on point. My new go to, can't wait for our next visit .... ( next week ).

Awesome BBQ place. Pork, ribs, chicken all fantastic. Sides are also great, real mashed, big beans, (baked and green), bring an appetite! The place is kinda small but they mostly do take out orders, which is ideal for on the way home times. If you have a party of more than 10, they might accommodate but I would call first. Also call ahead to make sure they have what you want. I've kicked myself for not getting there or calling early because they run out of the popular stuff first! If you like BBQ you have to give them a try, I know a few people that live in Ocala to specifically go to this place so that says something about their food. Just go, you won't be disappointed.

Be there twice let me start out by saying the moinks are to die for! They are delicious the other food is also pretty good. The first time I went the servier was really good and very attentive and the server the second time couldn't care whether we had drinks or questions he seemed very preoccupied.

I the past this has been a good place. This time my pulled pork sandwich had a piece of meat that was dry, tough, and inedible 3" x 4" folded in half. It looked to be the "bark" or a piece of meat over roasted or not rapped. Quality control is amiss. Maybe it was a one off.
