We went for the free Wednesday wine tasting (from 4-6pm) and happy hour ($6 glasses) but ended up staying for a fantastic live jazz trio and some delicious food. Excellent experience!

Aggressively satisfactory. Vibe, idea, and live jazz are phenomenal. But the food options, prices are very upsetting. Their signature offering is a cheese plate, but their bread is very subpar. They also dont give you enough bread on your order and then make you pay $4.50 for six, 3in diameter slices of bread… crazy price. Then they day its bc they buy from an expensive bakery. Someones gotta fix there ops asap.

Visited this super cool place on a hot summer day. The live music was amazing. Friendly bartenders and staff in a very casual backyard environment. Great cocktails. A very refreshing deviation from the more touristy parts of NOLA we had visited.

Always loved you guys but OMMFG your patrons are so disrespectful to those of us living in the area. They trash our yards (dude. Our bins are RIGHT THERE. Use them. Or im gonna cosplay like Poison Ivy and whoop yalls btch azzes till you cower in shame and get back together with with that tossed garbage you so deserve). They surround our homes, parking illegally and blocking driveways so we have to park blocks away with our groceries (and some of us.. Me.. are painfully, LITERALLY crippled). They keep us up at night stumbling back to their cars- parked just feet from our beds, screeching about honestly the dumbest sh1t I've heard since bartending on bourbon back when i still had some patience reserves.. One customer, vanity plate "FUNCLE1" (i h4t3 you) even ran over my trashcan Saturday evening, crushing it so badly I have to order a new one. I've lived everywhere, including the heart of the quarter and above downtown tats on FRENCHMAN and even THAT was more peaceful than weekends by Bacchanal. Yall- we can hear every last word you say as yall stumble to your cars. Maybe if the discourse weren't so idiotic I'd be a bit less irritated. Please do not misinterpret- the music and venue itself are lovely and much appreciated. It's the employee/drunk idiot takeover of our living spaces i am over. Edit: crescent park closes at 8, maybe make a deal w the city to rent their lot. Just a thought. Prob too far for UNCRIPPLED jackazzes to walk WITHOUT groceries, though. Insert eye -roll.

We stopped at Bacchanal to enjoy some live music and wine. The layout of this wine bar is very unique. There is a wine store and custom charcuterie downstairs with wine by the glass, cocktails, and indoor seating upstairs. We had a few of their wines by the glass as well as their charcuterie. I thought it was incredibly well priced and we loved their selection and the preparation. Being able to pick our cheeses was such a plus. Highly recommend it for a great place to chat with company!

This is a great place to get your wine or beer fun on when it is nice outside as there is only outside seating. They have some great cheese plates and the outdoor chef's are usually making some good food with some good music playing. The good news & the bad news is the outdoor seating as it gets really hot and rains a lot in NOLA so there are definitely better times of the year to experience this place than others. Another growing problem is the popularity of this place is making it harder and harder to actually find a seat so you need to get there mighty early to secure a spot and finding parking is never an easy task. The only other thing to watch out for is there are sometimes some people with really stinky BO in there that need a good hosing off (I'm not sure when it became fashionable to avoid bathing) so that could be the benefit of going after it rains as maybe those folks will smell better. Another benefit or problem depending on your point of view is that folks will often bring their children with them to hang out on the patio. I don't have any problem with kids and find them nicer than most snotty adults that don't like them so I think it just adds to the entertainment and flavor of the place to have entire families enjoying themselves and to have a place I can go with my friends that have kids that want to go somewhere like this. I wish we had a place like this closer to Uptown so I didn't have to go so far to enjoy it.

Probably fine as just a wine and cheese shop, but terribly overrated as a restaurant. We visited because it came so highly recommended on a lot of tour sites but it's not at all your standard restaurant experience. We didn't like the self-service concept, where you have to get everything from glasses to silverware and napkins yourself from a shelf - it felt like being at summer camp. The menu also is definitely more for tapas than an actual sit-down meal, and the shrimp crostini tasted off. The cheese was good though! But it definitely feels more like someone's backyard than a restaurant, so manage your expectations accordingly.

Enjoyed this place but made 2 mistakes, 1. Got happy hour drinks, not worth it as they were pretty chintzie and realized after the way to go would have been to get a bottle. 2. Good food but a distressing number of flies as we were on the patio. Eeew. I've eaten on many patios without my plate looking like a forensic crime scene so wondering if there is some way to solve that issue. Otherwise, lovely spot and would happily return

I went in 2017 and I'm still pissed about my experience. Have fun fighting in actual dirt to find a table, a table that has no chairs. Stand in line to get water from a communal source. Spend $11 dollars on white bread and a pad of butter with a radish delicately placed. I've never asked for my money back and left a restaurant until this experience.

Bacchanal was recommended by our Lyft driver. We went the last night of Jazz Fest. Our driver was right it was fabulous. The place doesn't look like much when you pull up to the front, but what a surprise when you walk in. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is the perfect New Orleans style place with an amazing vibe. We ate upstairs after picking out a bottle of wine. We had the Gambas(Shrimp), the Patatas Fritas and the Pork Chop. All were wonderful, especially the Pork Chop. It was cooked/grilled to perfection. Maybe the best Pork Chop we have ever had at a restaurant. We were able to hear the band that was playing in the courtyard but it wasn't so loud that you couldn't carry on a conversation. And the prices are very reasonable. We will be back next time we are in New Orleans.

Highlight of our trip to New Orleans -- The food, service, and ambience were all great. They have an extensive wine list, great cheese selection for make-your-own cheese boards, and a menu of tasty bites. (We had the patas bravas and bread with black garlic butter -- our only complaint was needing more bread for all that rich butter. Would highly recommend both dishes.). The bartenders happily improvised a delicious mocktail for the non-drinking member of our group. The patio was full by the time we arrived, but we were happy to discover that we could hear the band even from the back room. Look forward to the next opportunity to visit.
