This little GEM is my happy place

The food, the music, the people! It was an amazing experience! You HAVE to try the fried ribs! 👩‍🍳 💋 chefs kiss! Jacob mixed up some amazing cocktails and kept us entertained while we waited for the band to start! By far best experience while in Nola!

Absolutely loved my waitress. Mad cool chick. So glad they had vegan options. The mushrooms were sooooo good I made a 2nd order but they were out. Vegan crab cake was ok. The grits were the bomb too. My friend said her food was good, but she was thrown off by spaghetti as the Mac n cheese. I would defly go back...actually I tried, but it was closed 😩 the hours are never what I need on places I can eat at

Was recently in New Orleans for a work trip. I was excited for all the restaurants, but this place was my absolute favorite meal. I ordered the shrimp and grits and vegan loaded fries, both were phenomenal. My team mates both got the ribs and raved about them. Beyond the food the live music and service were also stellar. Will stop through again when I am back!

As vacationers, we wanted something less touristy and a local jazz spot four our foodies. This spot was WELL WORTH the Uber from French Quarter. The food had heart and tasted like magic. The blackened catfish was perfect. We all loved the Jerk fried chicken (new item) and we had the best grits of the trip here. Bacon, cheddar & jalapeño grits --- we should have come earlier in the trip so we could have those a 2nd time.

Highly recommend Sweet Lorraine’s for an authentic New Orleans experience. The chef is amazingly talented and made the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. The bartender asked us a couple of questions and crafted special cocktails for my friend and I. The band was smooth and the singers voice was like velvet.

Was invited to a private event held here and all I can say is…. If the regular menu food is anything like the small portion of food I had…. Mann this was the best NOLA food I had on my birthday trip and wish I could have experience the menu better. That bread pudding was the bomb!! It had corn on top! Mmmmm😋 and the shrimp and grits with the catfish!!! WOW! Thank you Sweet Lorraine’s! Next time I’m in NOLA this is definitely a stop on my list. The live band was also A hit…. Loved loved loved❤️🥰

My dear friend and I, visiting NOLA as part of a conference, had our hearts set on music and dinner for our last evening, having read the reviews for Sweet Lorraine's. Arriving to the club, we were a bit disappointed to find the music was canceled for the evening and they were not serving dinner. The owners were so kind and realized that we had made special arrangements to get there and understood our disappointment. To our complete surprise (and delight), they offered 2 vegan dishes for me and ribs for my friend, along with beverages. They were so gracious and wanted us to feel taken care of. We surely were! The food was absolutely DELICIOUS! As a vegan, these were the best fried mushrooms and vegan crab cakes I have ever tasted. My friend could not stop raving about the ribs. Get yourselves to Sweet Lorraine's - but call ahead to ensure they will have music and dinner. It will be well worth your trip!

Not canned NOLA but genuine and real food, people and atmosphere. Feel at home even if home is another state!

The band was awesome, Rick David and the Funky 5. The room was filled with good positive energy! I would have liked a dance floor but I enjoyed the evening. Most of the wait staff was pleasant, not all. I had to park on the street. I forgot to ask if they had a parking lot. Next time.

Great food, great space. Loved the entertainment. I was there with friends to listen to Gina Brown who was very accomodating. With that said -- the place was understaffed. You can't open at 1 and start the kitchen up at 12:55. You don't have a big menu as it is. So, I'm not sure what the problem was other than you don't understand the amount of time needed to prep. And you underestimate your staffing needs. If you don't have enough people then scale back the menu. Orrrr try paying more and offer training to people so others can be successful.

The entertainment was very good here. However, the food service was horrible. It was almost 30 minutes before we were even acknowledged to put in a food order. We had to get the attention of the waitress after not being noticed or acknowledged by the servers. People who came in after my group we’re getting their food and we still hadn’t received ours. It took them over 1 1/2 hours to get our food. Once we complained to our waitress she said they’re working on it now. So if you’re hungry don’t go there, you may get stuck waiting!!

I wanted to take my niece out for a nice evening of seafood and live music while visiting NOLA. I called Sweet Lorraines and asked if they could help with my vision. Not only was the food delish they made her a small birthday cake. I ordered the FRIED RIBS with Turnip Greens and Mac n Cheese. I have never had fried ribs before and these were superb! The sauce was delicious and unique. The cake they made was moist and flavourful. I could tell it was HOME-MADE. The Latin band wa so good until people got up and started dancing in the isle. Please go you will not regret it!

Okay, I do not like to leave bad reviews so if I leave a 3-star review then you know my experience was just okay. So on our second day in New Orleans, we visited Sweet Lorraine's Jazz club based on the reviews that I've read about the entertainment and the food. Our show started around 9:10pm, we were seated at around 8:55. My husband and I definitely were looking forward to a good meal here based on the reviews, we we're definitely hungry when we arrived and ready to order shortly after being seated. We waited until 9:20 until a server actually acknowledged we were there. He dropped off some waters and left. Shortly after, we moved to another table because where we were sitting it was extremely cold, the air conditioning and a fan were blowing directly on our heads. In our new area, we sat for another 30 minutes until another server actually came by. I asked her about the salmon tacos, she didn't really know a lot about that, I asked her about the vegan gumbo and again she didn't know a whole lot about that either so I asked her if she can ask someone, so she left and it was another 20 minutes or so before we actually ended up ordering and waited even longer to get our food. The show was from 9:00pm until 11:00pm, we ended up getting our food at around 10:45 p.m. I ending up ordering the salmon tacos which were very delicious and a hit, just wish there were more of them, there were only three. I also ordered the vegan gumbo and unfortunately that was a miss. My husband ordered the wings and unfortunately it was a miss for him as well because he said it tasted like it was cooked in old grease. But on the brighter side we did enjoy the entertainment, but it was hard to fully get into the show when you're extremely hungry, cold and feeling neglected which is the reason for three stars. The sad part about the situation is there was another server working around our area, she clearly saw that we were just sitting there, she passed us numerous times. I even asked if she knew anything about our food and she shrugged her shoulders and kept it moving. Not once did she offer to assist our server who was working our area and was clearly overwhelmed.

Sweet Lorraine’s was amazing!! The food was absolutely delicious. The music was excellent. The hospitality was so wonderful too. We had such a lovely time. Thanks for a fantastic night! Chucky D and Friends were so great! Get those shrimp and grits.

Sweet Lorraine's food is really special, with or without music. Here I had the really flavorful Shrimp Pasta and Boo had the Salmon which has an interesting Polynesian flair. Every thing there is beyond the expected. This is not nightclub food. Starting to think of Sweet Lorraine's as a Supper Club. They are as serious about what they put on a plate, as they are about who they put on stage.

An oldie but goodie! You won't be disappointed by the food or entertainment if you visit Sweet Lorraine's. Ample servings, quality customer service and a genuinely great time.

Amazing food/music venue in the Marigney section of New Orleans. Well worth an uber ride from anywhere in the city. Home cooked, elegant food & service, with a dash of love, by the owners. Vegan & gluten free options. Entertainment tonight was top notch jazz masters, Chuckie C and friends, performing at 9 & 11, with a huge helping of humor, storytelling & history. Will remember this night for a very long time. My husband said it all. "I'm in heaven".

We went on a Tuesday and it was poetry night or as they say poetry slam. The meals are small but good the poets are good

This place is great for vegans and great music!! My family and I came here to celebrate a birthday and we tried most of the vegan menu, and I can absolutely say I was impressed by the options. The crab cakes were phenomenal as well as the sliders, and the gumbo is fantastic! We came on Saturday the 23rd and the new band was playing, they were awesome! I hope more people come to watch/listen to them.

Great atmosphere and even had free food tonight :)! The poetry reading's were exceptional!

Nifty neighborhood music club w cozy bar area off the beaten path of the typical tourista districts. The main stage room seats about 50 so it is great to really get to enjoy a band and their antics.

Low key atmosphere, music and food fantastic!!

We were in town for the 2019 Essence Music Festival and my wife, being a N.O. girl and me from the mighty Chi - Town, wanted to hear some live music in a more intimate setting. The Music, musicians performing, and featured guest (Tone Tony Toni) was excellent! Very very nice performance even without Raphael Saddiqui! Bar and drink service was absolutely horrendous including long wait times for very marginal drinks served. Great atmosphere with an involved, appreciative, responsive 40 plus crowd! Keep them coming back by hiring a knowledgeable responsive bartender that knows how to prepare drinks! Although we didn't order food, from what we saw served looked very appetizing! We will be returning as we support African American owned establishments nationwide as African American professionals, it is our responsibility to uplift and assist growth in our own communities!

A warm and lovely gathering place in the Seventh Ward. Awesome talent is the order of the day. A full vegan menu option was a very pleasant surprise. (The unsalted vegan gumbo is tasty if you add a bit of salt.) Tanya Boyd Cannon & Co. is a must-catch act with impressive talent and an exhaustive repertoire. Best new local find!

These guys have a separate, purely vegan menu that is delicious, local New Orleans flavor, and based on a three generation tradition of vegetarian/vegan lifestyle.

We visited this spot several years ago and the memory is still fresh in my mind. We enjoyed the entertainment and the singer was superb. Hope to visit again during Jazz Festival weekend.

Great night of partying my wife and I danced all night

Attended a reserved Silverback Lead Mentors meeting. Jambalaya was appealing to the eyes and to the palate. The fish was fried to perfection. Chicken wings were wonderful. The salad was almost too pretty to eat, and the ingredients were all fresh. The environment was excellent, and the owner catered to our every need. Reserve your meeting today!

Very enjoyable evening. first night in town and Sweet Lorraine 's is a block from the ABNB. It's a local neighborhood club with musicians from the area and the cats can play.

Its a nice place for grown ups only.
