We enjoyed the menu and wine/cocktail options as well as the great atmosphere here. The food was so delicious and the service was excellent. Heather was so kind and hospitable. She made us feel so welcomed and cared for.

Loved the Ahi Tuna and the bartender made a refreshing blend Chardonnay rose blend to pair with tuna. Explosion of flavors to dip and seaweed on the side with crisp cucumber.Yum

After 25 years coming to AI, this was our first time to eat at this “ hidden gem”!! The entire menu is fantastic. Our group started off with Bang Bang Shrimp and Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Meat Loaf, Cajun Shrimp Risotto, Tuna Crunch, and the Daily Fish Special were all phenomenal!! The Beignets and Chocolate cake were outstanding. Be sure to ask for Tammy as she made the evening that much more enjoyable. Will definitely be back next year!!!

First time here and we will have to return often. I wanted everything on the menu. Service was excellent.

We dine here weekly with a large group. I can't say enough about how amazing the staff is! Gracious, attentive and always going above and beyond-- they even know our drink orders and get them started as soon as we walk in the door. The food is delicious-- highly recommend any of the specials, truffle fries and spicy margs! This place is truly a treasure on the south end.

This is the 4th time I have been here in 2 weeks - 2x solo at the bar, 1x with group of 6, 1x with my hubby. It has been a great experience each time

This place has it all: Excellent food, relaxed friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. We’ve dined at several places on Amelia Island and felt either sick from cheap bar food or snubbed by pretentious places. Bar Zin left us full and happy. Menu choices; curry ceasar salad, shrimp and crab dip, chicken picada, scallops, snapper. Yum!

On our first visit to Amelia Island, BarZin was highly recommended. We were not disappointed. Great location and atmosphere. Sat at the bar with very friendly people and ordered small plates that were delicious. Josh, the bartender, couldn’t have been more hospitable. Great food and great vibe. Will definitely visit again.

Just had the most insanely unsettling experience here after being chastised by the manager for not liking our cocktails. We have been really excited to try Bar Zin after moving here! Had reservations tonight and started with a pecan old fashioned from the menu. We are whiskey drinkers and enjoy an old fashioned a few times a week. The cocktail arrived and it was aggressively sweet and we didn’t love it, so we asked our waiter for a regular old fashioned instead. We never asked for it to be comped, just wanted a replacement drink. Our new drinks arrived and they were crazy bitter. The person behind the bar just didn’t make a great old fashioned, and that’s fine, so we decided to order whiskey instead. Not an issue at all. Never did we ask for anything to be free! We would have happily paid for all of the drinks that we didn’t like. Suddenly the manager appeared and was very aggressive and said we would have to pay for the second round of drinks. Which was totally fine, but her approach was absolutely unhinged. She didn’t apologize for us not liking our drinks and immediately launched into “this is a small business” etc etc. and said that they knew how to make an old fashioned and questioned our taste. “You said the last ones were too sweet and now these are too bitter!!!” It was absolutely wild. I was shaking by the end of the interaction which was pretty embarrassing. We are locals and that’s why we are here, to support small businesses. We were prepared to sit and eat and drink whiskey and wine all night but she was so rude to us we asked for the check and skipped dinner. We felt absolutely terrible, all of the wait staff was LOVELY especially our server. We tried to tip him as we left but we had no cash and he didn’t have Venmo or anything. We apologized profusely to our server. The calamari was delicious! I wish we could have stayed for the rest of our meal but we didn’t feel welcomed at all. Will never return and make sure to let our local friends know to avoid this place at all costs.

The food was amazing and Josh is great.

First came here 9 years ago and remembered the truffle fries. Came back recently and they were as good as I remembered. It's worth coming here just for truffle fries. They are above and beyond. Everything on the menu is crazy good. One of our meals was supposed to come with asparagus and they substituted cooked spinach and it was amazing.

Attended a super fun private party here! Great indoor/outdoor setup with room for food and a band with dance floor. Great fun was had by all, and plenty of room to host a big group. Wasn’t a dinner party, so food was small but tasty!

I was looking forward to dining with a group of about 12 people at Bar Zin. I looked at the menu online and also saw mostly five star reviews. I’m glad so many people had a great experience. I didn’t. Our waiter, once we received our food disappeared. He never checked to see if we needed anything more. I ordered a hamburger grilled medium that instead turned out to be dry and well done. My “truffle” fries weren’t but I was charged extra. When the waiter finally showed up and brought my bill at the end of the meal, I had a chance to let him know about problems with my food. His response was “I’m sorry.” It will be a very long time before I return to Bar Zin. If you do go there, I wish you a better dining experience!

Went on a busy Saturday night. Not a great place for a quick bite but wow the food is good! Had the lamb chops. The deserts are great too.

The food and staff are excellent. But the big screen TVs reduce the elegance of the restaurant. My two friends and I spent $400 on our bill while being flanked by two big screen TVs playing baseball games.

Best dining experience ever!!! The food is amazing!!! They have an impressive wine list and my martini was made to perfection. Great date night atmosphere with excellent friendly service. This place is such a vibe…one of my all time favorites.

Food was good to OK, service was reasonable, Ryan did his best . The hostess ( somewhat of a misnomer) was arrogant and supercillious. It wasn't even busy and this individual was not only unhelpful but rude . If that is this restaurants "ambience" then I will not be returning in spite of the positives. Get someone on the front desk who knows how to welcome guests.

What a delight! My husband had the Cajun shrimp risotto and I had the beef tip special. The service was top notch. Dallas took such good care of us!

Though loud and cramped at the front door, the atmosphere is pleasant. The meals are delicious including a seafood special, Blackened MahiMahi, and Mussels.

Outstanding. Chef Abe and team gave my family an early Christmas gift. Everything was awesome (truffle fries, flatbread, chicken piccata, braised short rib, wreckfish special (that was sublime), apple pie, beignets, all terrific. My wife and I have been blessed to patron some Michelin star restaurants and Bar Zin is right up there. Thank you again Abe and team for an incredible experience!

We were here for Thanksgiving week and dined at Bar Zin twice. Each time the food was excellent, our first trip we sat outside and had the best server (I'm sorry I can't remember his name). Both times I had the Chicken Piccata (which somehow was better the second time?!). Hubs got a different daily special each time and he thoroughly enjoyed both those experiences. The owner and our server recognized us on our second visit and mentioned it. As busy as they are, they have amazing food and good/great service. Bar Zin is on our list of "absolutly will eat here again".

Bar Zin never disappoints! I am a Vegan and every time I visit a special entrée is made for me. Thank you for always providing the freshest vegetables and great service.

Having been a huge fan of the "old" Bar Zin, I was a bit disappointed in the atmosphere although the food was quite good. The new place was loud, and I was seated 6 feet from a large TV showing sports. I thought this was more fine dining than sports bar but I was mistaken. The waiter was very good but unable to provide optimal service because he was trying to serve too many tables. I could have used a second glass of wine or a refill on water, but nobody stopped at the table after dinners were delivered until we were finished and were ready for dessert, and he was too slammed to be flagged down. The prosciutto and melon was great and my husband's salad was excellent. My catch of the day was VERY slightly overcooked but very tasty. The decadent chocolate cake was just that, and plenty to share between us. For us, the "small plates" were more than sufficient to fill us up. We left satiated but not stuffed. I'd have given the food a 4+ rating, but the atmosphere was not what we expected for fine dining.

Ordered a restaurant week dinner that consisted of a very small salad, a few spoonfuls of risotto and 2 scallops. I told them to keep the dessert. Hate to feel ripped off when you eat at a fine dining restaurant.

One of the best restaurants on the island! Wife and I shared scallops and tuna appetizers - both delicious. Then the wagyu burger for dinner - also excellent. We'll be back!

We couldn't decide what to order so we tried alittle of everything!! And every single thing we ordered was delicious!!! We couldn't stop ourselves! Very casual, nice place to go for dinner or even just to sit chat and have a drink! Patrick was wonderful! He had a smile on his face the entire time! 10/10 recommend

The food and service was great. A varied menu to please everyone. Lots of outdoor seating.

Everything we ordered was stellar, a strong old fashioned, tender hangar steak, ahi with perfectly thin ribbons of soba, dinner rolls that were rich enough to be dessert, plus fresh strawberry butter cake. Menu changes seasonally, and I can wait to go back! Brandy, our waitress gave superb service that made it a perfect evening!

We had dinner here twice during our week stay on Amelia Island. Clearly, we enjoyed ourselves!

I will agree with the person who left a review 5 days prior stating that the front of the house needs a major overhaul. We came today expecting to have a great meal in a posh atmosphere. What we can say is that the food is excellent, (saw lots of delicious main dishes coming out) if you can bear the lack in service. For this reason, we did not order entrees when placing appetizers. We decided to do this nearly immediately upon entry to the restaurant because when being seated, there was some discussion in front of us among the servers as to where we could be seated as the host tried to seat us at a particular table. Seems there is one waitress who really knows her stuff, but the other servers are far less experienced. That being said, we left after the appetizers due to poor service. There was little to no mind paid to us throughout the hour we were there, and when we asked for the check before even trying the appetizers, there was no inquiry as to why. What really cooked the goose was that when I put up the check with credit card, we then were paid no attention and had to actually get up and ask for the card to be run so we could leave and go somewhere else. While eating the appetizers, I tried to talk my husband into giving our waitress another chance, only to glance over and see all three servers huddled in the area between the kitchen and the main dining room, each one on their cell phone with screens glowing in the dark. I'm sorry, Bar Zin... I've been to so many establishments in the area and this is not acceptable service, even during tourist season. For the prices on the menu, the service needs to be skilled and poised. EDIT: I have increased my review to three stars due to management reaching out and attempting to remedy the issue. We appreciated the call and offer made to us to return. I'm glad to see local businesses providing superior customer service.

The food was top tier. Hats off to the chef and his team. However, the front of the house needs a major overhaul. The staff have no clue what's going on. What's good to eat. Or whats good to drink. I believe its in part to management not allowing their staff to sample the menu. I ordered a blueberry bread pudding for dessert and got ginger cake instead. How the hell does the staff not know red from blue? The restaurant has champagne dreams but run on a beer budget. I won't fault the kitchen for anything because what we received for food was top notch. However everything else should be considered for an overhaul.

We recently hosted a rehearsal dinner at Bar Zin and everything was perfect. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I worked with Karly to set up the event and she was a pleasure to deal with. All of her wine and food recommendations were spot on. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Y’all, this place blew my hair back! Holy cow - I was not prepared for the lucullen feast that unfolded before us. With Brian at the helm, we navigated the menu beginning with the incredible charcuterie board and on to the escargot, which was popping in butter upon its arrival. Without hyperbole, I submit to you that their shepherd’s pie, South is THE BEST shepherd’s pie I’ve ever had. We will be returning & I will be having it again. And if possible, we would love to be wined & dined by Brian. He was quite the sommelier! Also of note, you must order their bananas foster cheesecake; it’s too delicious to not be experienced. A solid 5 stars! Naturally, the brightest of these stars is Brian. Bravo, sir!

I have had the privilege of tasting Chef Cohen's creations at another restaurant so when I found out he was in Amelia Island I beat feet. My expectations were very high but Damn if he didn't exceed them at every level. The small plates are brilliant and each a work of culinary art. We will be back very soon.

Right from the moment we walked in (without reservations) we enjoyed every bit if our dinner here! Our server was amazing & very informative about the menu. Wife had the lamb & must say, the presentation on that cannot be beat! The entire restaurant enjoyed that with the aroma of smoked Rosemary wafting through the place. I had the hanger steak & highly suggest it! All of the staff was attentive & very welcoming!! We will definitely be back!

Everything that we had was just out of this world with next level flair kicking everything up. The truffle fries have an avocado pesto mayonnaise that I would put on everything for the rest of my life if I could. I had the scallops with the parmesan risotto which was perfect, and I tried the hanger steak with fries too which was awesome. I'd eat here every day if I could. The server tried to sell me some BS about how they were going to soon be going to a menu with smaller portion sizes because people were complaining? Who in their right mind pays $35+ dollars for one dish and complains about getting too much food? No one, that's who. Whatever your actual reason for the choice is please dont do it. Also I feel like the servers could have a better dress code. This place is fine dining and short sleeves with tattoos and piercings really ruins the experience.

The tuna sushi appetizer and burger were great. Also sampled some Mac and cheese gnocchi which was also fantastic

Had the crispy tuna for lunch and it was superb, dreamt about going back for dinner it was so good. They were friendly and accommodated us even though they were technically closing their lunch hours as we were walking in. Even had 2 workers point us in the right direction for ice cream when they were probably ready to close their doors to prepare for lunch.

I was vacationing at Amelia Island a few weeks ago with a group of girlfriends and we had the pleasure of dining at Bar Zin. The food and service were AMAZING. I had the best piece if bread I have ever eaten and the sea bass I had for dinner was delicious. Dillon was our server and he was very knowledgeable about the menu and had some great recommendations! He was extremely personable and it was a pleasure getting to know him. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back!

Fabulous dinner at Bar Zin. We both had fish, which was so fresh. My wife had drumfish with potatoes and carrots, and I had a large piece of flounder over shrimp risotto. Wow! No room for dessert. This will be on our 'must visit' list whenever we return to Amelia Island.

Great atmosphere, pleasant service, excellent appetizers, tuna duo and pork belly confit, good desserts, creme brulee and flourless chocolate cake. But the main dish, we both had steak frites, was a little disappointing hence the 4 stars. The hangar steak was a little bit thick and undercooked even though the crust was well seared and flavorful and the jus was a bit sweet, but it was the fries that let the dish down the most. Was expecting some delicious handcut, hot fries but instead really mundane frozen product, the sense of betrayal is real 😉

The French Dip and / or the burger are amazing! But the French Country Salad is so delicious!

The food was excellent but I was seriously disappointed with our server on our last visit. That said, usually this is a wonderful place to have an upscale dinner. It's helpful to know that mixed drinks are not available here, but there is a great wine selection.
