I literally almost cried after taking the first bite. This place is amazing. Highly recommended!

This is the only restaurant in Tampa you don’t have to worry about seed or vegetable oils. Everything here uses extra virgin olive oil. For that reason only I eat here 3-4 times a week, sometimes more. My favorites is the broccollini, chopped salad and ricotta meatballs. They have an excellent Caesar salad dressing as well.

Small spot but the food was really good. Make sure you set reservations. I wouldn't try to just walk in.

The food was delish and Sophia took such amazing care of us! Truly a joy to have her as a server, we will definitely be back.

Bavaro's Pizza Napoletana & Pastaria is my top favorite restaurant in Tampa. I recommend it. They have a great staff, and the food comes out fast. The vodka pasta is my favorite, but there are so many other great things to try! Overall, if you're looking for a great atmosphere and great food, Bavaro’s is the place to go!

I been to Italy and this food made me feel like I was back there. The Bruschetta left me speechless, it was beyond DELICIOUS. And the pizza… OMG! The sauce is so fresh, you can actually taste the freshness of the tomatoes. This is a hidden gem in Tampa. Please come and try it. Amazing FOOD really.

Still the best one pasta & (real) pizza.

Probably the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten. The pizza fell apart When I lifted it off the plate & My pepperonis and puddles of oil in them. I used like 100 napkins for my hands bc of how much oil there was. My friend didn’t even eat half of his pizza before we left and the waitress didn’t even care to ask why….Not good at all

Sat outside just after heavy rains. The table and chairs were dry and the fan was on. Very pleasant. Service was great. Food yummy. I’m gluten allergic and they have a gluten free penne that can be used in most pasta dishes. The “rigatoni” (for me GF penne) does not disappoint. Pasta cooked al dente, sauce amazing, chicken tender. Ordered a 9oz Pinot Grigio which was a perfect accompaniment. I have been frequenting this restaurant since it opened. The restaurant has had ups and downs. Under the management of Gary, the experience was top notch for a neighborhood restaurant. In summary, WELL WORTH IT!!

Fantastic food and excellent service! Kendal T answered all of our questions and we appreciated her advice. She was attentive without interfering and made sure we were delighted with everything we ordered. Loved the tomato soup and the Bolognese - will definitely order those again. Generous servings - no room for dessert this time.

Ordered a pepperoni pie and Caesar salad. Wood-fired pizza was perfectly cooked. The dough was exceptionally good. Nice balance between flavorful with enough crustiness. Toppings very good with fresh mozzerella. Hot to the table in moments after baking. Salad was just meh. Service gr8 and prices fair.

We have quite literally never had a single issue here - the staff is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is cozy, and the food is phenomenal. We will be back the next time we’re in Tampa!

Best pizza ive tried in Tampa by far. Service was also excellent and the atmosphere was alright. This is perfect for quiet dining. Emma was outstanding server, she speaked variois languages and assisted us nicely.

The food was absolutely delicious the service was ok. For an Italian restaurant they should offer bread with oil to start also when the food comes out some original cheese for the pasta. The pizza taste so good from the original oven.

Overall not a good experience. My girlfriend and I visited Bavaro’s yesterday (a Saturday evening) and we were seated at the smallest table imaginable in the middle of the restaurant (See photo); we were even joking with the couple seated adjacent to us about how small the tables were. The owner needs to remove these tables from the restaurant. We ordered the Charcuterie appetizer, Rigatoni al Funghi, and the special Chicken Parmigiana. The Charcuterie was good but nothing special. The Rigatoni al Funghi had great flavor but sadly the chicken was overcooked. The Chicken Parmigiana was good but $28 for chicken, red sauce, and store-bought pasta was ludicrous (All the other pasta entrees were $22 or less, and because it was a special the price was not made clear until we received the bill). Both pastas were also undercooked and could’ve been hotter. Portion sizes were excessive. Our server seemed rushed and was MIA for long periods of time; she also never asked if we wanted more drinks or dessert. This was the first and last time we’ll be eating here.

Loved the food, Kailey was an amazing host and her suggestions were amazing. We had a really good experience. We had the pizzas and the Tiramisu, which was wonderful.

My boyfriend and I had a seat outside and it started to rain and was super romantic! They offered us to come inside but we actually enjoyed the experience. The chicken parmigiana was a special on the menu and was so good I told our waitress, Kendal, that it should absolutely be a staple on the menu! She said hopefully soon! Kendal was a doll and super knowledgeable. We found this place on a whim and would definitely come back. Highly recommend.

The fall from Grace Dan Bávaro, one of the best Italian restaurant in Florida has fallen from grace. Take this review from someone who traveled far distances only to taste the delicious food and excellent service this restaurant used to provide. Today I was received without a “welcome” or any sort of greeting by the host. Followed by our server who at the time of taking our order didn’t seem interested in providing the service. She forgot the appetizers we ordered and when she brought us the entrees our glasses were empty and left without offering a refill and before we could even ask her. She sat down by a table behind us with the another 3 waitresses who didn’t have anything better to do than look depressed, demoralized and bored while on their phones. The atmosphere didn’t get any better, no music on the background, just people eating to the rhythm of forks and knifes hitting plates… the check was brought to us without the opportunity to order my wife’s favorite dessert Gelato. This can only be the reflection of an absent owner, a check that could have easily been 150 dollars was left at 58.02, with a $91.98 difference makes you wonder how much money is walking away due to a mediocre service. Before expansion, quality should be uphold to maximize profit… Pizza was as it always had been, good! Raviolis were dry and crispy in the corners, that pasta should have never left the kitchen. I will come back in 3 months time. I hope to update this review to one that reflects the service that used to characterized Bavaro’s Pizza. Respectfully, At this time with a heavy heart I do not recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food with a really quick service time. We really enjoyed both of our dishes (the rigatoni al funghi and the tagliatelle bolognese).

Let's start with the service first. Our server Jasmine/Yasmine (I'm not sure if I'm sleeping it correctly so I apologize if I misspelled your name) was hands down an amazing server. She answered all my questions and if she didn't have the answer for sure she directly asked the kitchen ASAP. She did not make me feel like a bother about my food allergies, our drinks were filled the whole time we were there (both the soda and water), and she was friendly, professional, and personable while doing her job serving us and juggling her other tables. The food came out swinging too. The kitchen is a real talent and I loved sitting at the counter and got to see everything prepped. Our food was hot, delicious, and very filling (can't complain, the leftovers were just as great). Also that tiramisu was what I needed after such a carb and savory heavy meal. The meal was a masterpiece in my opinion. My partner and I have had some real misses with servers as of late, but Bavaro's gained two loyal patrons (my partner and I), with their delicious fresh food, their intimate space, and their server's promptness, attention to detail, and just overall rockstar demeanor. The pizza sauce and olives were amazing!! Our expectations were thoroughly met! The Affogato was excellent-a must! Our waiter Dominic was attentive and charming. Make this your eating destination!!!

I stopped by on a whim and I'm glad I did. Very unassuming from the outside and although the inside may be small it's big on flavor. I tried one of their authentic Neopolitan style pizzas and it did not disappoint.

I was told it would be a 45 minute wait for a table. That was fine, after 50 minutes asked the hostess how much longer she said you cancelled your reservation. I told her I did not cancel, she stated I could get back on the list and wait again. No thank you!

We visited one of their Tampa locations and were immediately reminded of why we fell in love with it back in 2015. We ordered the penne alla vodka with chicken, and the prosciutto pizza. Both were fantastic. Our server Maria was excellent! Everything we had for lunch was great - panini, Caesar salad, penne Vodka and chocolate gelato. Will definitely be back. Best of three locations!

Sat for over 15 minutes at the table, arriving 5 minutes before reservation. No one approached our table and we watched other tables be seated and waited on. Place was highly recommended but we walked out.

First of all...let me tell you about Jennifer. We were waiting for a table and Jennifer said "I got you", sat us down. Poured us a glass of merlot, got us some pasta and we didn't stop laughing until the bar closed. And even after the doors locked we stayed and Had some tiramusu. Never been here before but I'll def be coming back

Food was delicious and well worth the price. Everything tastes homemade and you can even see the pizza oven. The tables, lobby, and bathrooms were all clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

The worst $60 I’ve ever spent on a Togo order. Wings were completely undercooked- literally they were white and looked like rubber. Completely inedible. Pizza was sloppily thrown together- half cheese/half pepperoni with the pepperoni not even separated and on most of the pizza. Toppings all completely slid off, disgusting. Do yourself a favor and go to Fabrica for pizza.

The food was great (as always), the service was good, but the hostess, Yasmin, was really appreciated. She was working with a shift of folks just leaving a comedy show down the street and about to go to the later show down the street and she maintained her cool, was polite and accommodated everyone wanting an outside table during Tampa’s likely last nice weather of the season. She deserves praise!

Looked on website for hours of operation on Monday night, website states open til 10p. Walked about 10 minutes from hotel, arrived at 850pm and they were closing and not serving anyone else.

Giving 3 stars because the pizza was quite delicious. It was a bit wetter than some Neapolitan pizzas we've had but the crust is so good and chewy we just used it to mop up the extra sauce. Yummy! Having said that, the rest was a train wreck. We ordered the bruschetta. We had expected it would come out on a toasted bread. It came out on a rubbery slice of bread. It was a bit of a struggle to bite through it without dumping the tomatoes in your lap. We decided not to continue with that item. The server noticed the plate pushed to the edge of the table and asked if it was okay. We explained that we had expected a crusty, toasty bread. She said the bread is toasted but then they "put it in a bucket that has a lid on it". : / We also ordered the margherita and caesar salad with the dressing on the side. And we ordered a glass of Montepulciano. The pizza was incredibly tasty as mentioned above. But the server brought us side plates one of which had a big piece of food stuck to it. And she handed out the plates, so it wasn't as if we discovered it when we unstacked them. She either wasn't paying attention or chose not to address it. We slid it over to the edge of the table and used the small app plate that had been brought for the bruschetta instead. While we waited on the salad, I asked for another glass of wine. I decided to try the Pinot Noir. I had pushed my empty glass over to the edge of the table now designated for uneaten/unwanted items. It was crawling with fruit flies and this seemed a good solution to draw them away from us while we dined as we had chosen to sit outside. Unfortunately, the server walked straight over and poured the Pinot in the Montepulciano glass, bugs and all, before we could stop her. Again, : / To wrap this up, the caesar did arrive, but it was already dressed, not with the dressing on the side as we had requested. We had a couple bites, finding it unremarkable, left the remainder. My husband took the bug wine inside and got a fresh glass for me. Ultimately, we would go back to pick up a pizza. The pizza was really good. But there is a lack of service that makes the rest of the experience...rough. Bruschetta - 1 Salad - 1 Pizza - 4.5 Service - 2 Environment - 2 (we sat outside by choice, but the table that we were directed to wasn't clean and the area didn't appear to have been swept in days.) ProTip - Grab a pizza or two and take it to go.

This was in a beautiful location of downtown Tampa. The food was delicious and we were able to make reservations for a 6:30 dinner on Friday night earlier that same day. I got some kind of meatless ravioli. It was delicious and had a lot of flavor. My coworker recommends their chicken pasta too.

We were in town for the boys USL National Soccer Cup. On Friday night, we reserved our spot at Bavaro’s for a lovely pizza dinner with my boys. Despite its simple exterior, the interior design was quite impressive. The large stone oven in the restaurant immediately caught our attention. We started our meal with garlic bread and Caesar salad. The dough used in both the pizza and garlic bread was very tasty. The sauces were just right, and the salad was served with very fresh and high-quality cheese. The pizzas were quite large; each of us ordered one, but we could only eat half. One pizza easily serves two people. We planned to try dessert, but there was no room left. We loved it; the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I definitely recommend it.

my boyfriend and i ordered the penne vodka pasta and limoncello pizza to share, both were delicious and we really liked it. service was good, could’ve been a little faster but the restaurant was closing up so that’s understandable. however, we ordered 3 cannolis for dessert and there was something seriously wrong with them. i’ve had so many cannolis throughout my life, but these ones tasted like the cream had salt instead of sugar. the cream was not sweet whatsoever, almost bitter and salty (maybe the cream went bad). almost tasted like a bitter sour cream. my boyfriend and i aren’t very confrontational and don’t like sending food back (plus it was late and we just wanted to go home) so we just asked them to pack them up for us and threw them out as soon as we left. writing this in hope that they throw out whatever batch of cream that was!

A wonderful restaurant with a great location. Food was excellent and service was quick. I’d gone in on a Sunday evening (5pm) and the place was packed so would definitely recommend making reservations. Their portions are excellent - I got the Tiramisu and the vegetarian pink sauce rigatoni. I would be vary of sitting outdoors.

The service was good. The waitress was great. I had the Mushroom Rigatoni. The sauce had a great flavor but the mushrooms were cold and the chicken was overcooked. The whole dish could have been a lot warmer. Like warm pasta is a serious miss. I sat outside and got hit up 2x by homeless people, not the restaurants fault.

A small family restaurant, definitely owned by an Italian. Excellent service. We got 3 refills, were offered to-go drinks, our food was out to us within 20 minutes (after we got an appetizer too!). The meatballs were INCREDIBLE! The sauce is just delicious, not any Marinara I’ve tasted before. The pizza was wood-fired and incredible dough. A very cute place. Make sure to make a reservation, as we did but when people were coming in, they were quoting over an hour wait. Additionally, there was parking all around the restaurant. A great experience - we will definitely be coming back!

3 people for charcuterie, wine, pizza, and pasta. Dominic was great, very attentive and knowledgeable. The charcuterie was very good as was our Caesar salad. The Diavoli pizza was a little soupy and that’s the only reason for 4/5 stars. Otherwise it was a very good experience

Diavalo Pizza was wet on top. Ceasar salad was brown. Had been looking forward to pizza all week. Very disappointing. Service when ordering was good.

Loved this place. I have Celiac and the wait staff was very knowledgeable about what was and was not gluten free. I was able to get the penne vodka and it was some of the best gluten free pasta I've ever had.

This is a really special Italian restaurant with lots to offer. Delicious appetizers & fantastic stone oven pizzas. Our waiter was awesome I really appreciate good customer service & he made us feel right at home. (I forgot his name but it’s the tall bald man) really excellent job. Don’t trust the reservations, even if you can book a table through OpenTable, you may arrive and they tell you they are full and cancel your reservation.

We came here for dinner on my bachelorette and it was incredible! I'm from NJ and we rave about our Italian food but the pasta was perfectly cooked, cocktails were immaculate, and pizza was delicious! I definitely recommend coming here.

As a Neapolitan pizza chef I can say that the pizza is a Chinese copy of Neapolitan pizza. But still a nice copy. It is not very light, abundant in oil but the basics on the dough are there.

I can honestly say that I am thoroughly disappointed with this establishment. I've eaten here three times and out of those three times only one of them can I say I enjoyed the food. I had high hopes for the raviolis and was let down. The other night I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and the pasta wasn't fully cooked and the meatballs had no flavor to them. They were exceptionally bland. The only decent thing I've had here was the penne vodka, but even that can be a hit or miss.

A brick oven authentic Italian pizza place. The dough was soft and not over cooked like some brick oven can get. We sat outside which was really cool except for the restaurant is next to a bar, so we had to smell cigarettes throughout lunch. We almost went inside to eat. But the restaurant is very nice.

The food wasn't bad, the service was good, it was pricy. I've been in customer service for most of my life. I tried to speak with the manager, unavailable. I spent over 5 years in Naples Italy, but what do I know I'm only a customer. I'm sad to say this, it was utterly forgetable.

Hands down the worst pizza ever. It had no flavor whatsoever. The crust was too doughy, too wet and unflavored. I picked up a slice and all of my toppings slid off. I was absolutely disappointed at this point I was ready to leave. The restaurant was nice. The staff was very cold and uninviting. I give this place a 2.5 out of 10
