I just went there today for the first time. My spouse got tacos, which were OK, however, they forgot the lime that he asked for. I got the burrito suizo.. I only took a few bites out of my burrito, the sauce taste like marinara, more spaghetti-ish flavor than Mexican. They also forgot my refried beans. I ordered fries instead of rice, and they were not done enough . My spouse is Hispanic and he gave it three out of 10 and the rice was bland. Threw it away..Ordered to go. Not going back. Had high hopes, but nope.

The food was delicious and the service was great. Jorge and his crew are very nice and polite, they took care of everything at the baby shower regarding the food from start to finish. I had many guest complementing the food and the set up.

Food here is always great and very reasonably priced! Service is great too, always friendly interactions with the Employees. I would consider this place a hidden Gem!! Update: Had lunch here again, 3 steak taco dinner, absolutely delicious and a good value!

Bella Vista has been my family’s go to restaurant for a while now. They have the best authentic Mexican food in the Algonquin area. The owners are very attentive and the food is delicious!!

We chose Bella Vista to cater our party. We had the steak, chicken, and pastor, tacos. All was amazing!! Not to mention, they have the best tortilla chips around. The portions are huge, highly recommended! We will be back, so easy, so convenient!

We had a graduation/ birthday celebration and my friends and family really enjoyed the food! My guests also said the setup was very nice too! The service was excellent!

We ordered catering of Mexican food for a rehearsal dinner. The presentation ( including a unique serving table) was perfect. Jorge and an assistant cooked and served food to our guests. Everyone loved the food ( and we enjoyed all of the leftovers)! We would definitely consider catering again and highly recommend Bella Vista!

We ordered food for an anniversary celebration with about 35 people. We thought it was wonderful! Everything was excellent quality and the taste was delicious. Very generous portions, so we are enjoying the leftovers. The rice pudding was creamy and sweet with the lovely mango tang. The fresh cilantro, lime, lettuce, onion and tomatoes added so much. The steak was a big hit. Excellent chicken and vegetable options too. And both homemade salsas (red and green) are delicious, with just the right spice. Crispy and tasty chips too. Will definitely use them again!

Very unique family owned restaurant. Authentic Mexican style food, they have delicious tripita, barbacoa and lengua! The burritos are ginormous and very affordable prices. Not too many places left like this!

People are super friendly and the food is amazing every time! Also, the desserts are delicious! I highly recommend this place!

I really like my burrito. I typically do not have a burrito with the rice and beans inside of it but it was really good. The fries..... I mean it doesn't really go with it but who doesn't like fries?? I want to try the taco special next. I will be back.

Great little local place. Owners are kind and considerate. $3 per taco is a hard price to beat in these times. Nothing bad to say about this place, it’s one of the few restaurants where it’s entirely authentic Mexican food with a homely atmosphere. Dining arrangement is comfy and warm.

If you have the opportunity come and enjoy an authentic Mexican plates I love this place and I come to visit every time that I have the opportunity to visit Illinois 💯% recommended .... Service is simply awesome.. Thanks

Delicious food! I’m a full blown beaner and this is the closest to authentic mexican food. My recommendation would be the gotta. and the service here is top notch as well, the food came out in about 10 mins which is unheard of around this area. Very much recommend to anyone looking for authentic mexican food to feast on.

Great Mexican food! Ordered nachos with chicken and guacamole for starters. The red sauce on the table had a real good kick to it. Then had the chorizo taco dinner. Jorge the manager added a grilled habanero 🌶️ when I asked for more spice. Delicious!! Jorge was super nice and was great to talk to. No alcohol but they had a great variety of Mexican sodas and drinks. Will be coming back again!!!!

I was lucky enough to be meeting a friend in Carpentersville and we chose to meet for lunch here. I say lucky enough because this was the best mexican food I've had in a long time. The rice, the beans, the onions, all of it reminded me of Mexico. To quote the terminator, I'll be back.

It is very good 👍 had burrito but some hot pepper was in it just a tiny bit but, I can not do peppers.

Nestled between Route 31 and Elmwood Court, Bella Vista emerges. It boasts a red and gray exterior with colorful signs on the windows. Inside it's adorned with all sorts of Mexican inspired memorabilia. It definitely has that authentic Mexican restaurant feel when you walk in. The tacos were tasty. Definitely some of the better tacos I've had within the area. You'll get a double tortilla, a big portion of meat, and a nice ratio of toppings. I noticed the cut of onion was ever so slightly bigger than what I normally see, giving more of a crunch, which I didn't mind. Though it might not look like it, they also have a drive thru. It's not 100% obvious, even though they have a pretty large drive thru sign haha. The set up is interesting. There's no divider between the drive thru lane and parking spaces so it just looks like a big lot. Also, no intercom, you just drive up to the window, they take your order and then drive around to the opposite side of the building, where there is another window, where you pick up. Overall, the tacos were good, service was good, and definitely worth making the trip if you're looking for good tacos and an authentic dine-in experience.

Bella Vista catered an event at our home. THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING! Jorge was so easy to work with and made the process worry free. Everyone went back for seconds and wanted to know where the food was from. I think they will be visiting the restaurant soon. Thank you Jorge!!!!!!

The food is great, the Hibiscus Water is Delicious & our Waitress was the sweetest , Kindest, most attentive ever. It was my Birthday the last time I was there, she played Happy Birthday for me & gave me the most delicious Tiramisu for my Birthday! I can't wait to go back. Their Burritos are so good & very large. Fed me for 3 days😅. Love this place & seriously, where else can you get fresh Hibiscus Water?! I will travel back there just fir tge water! Highly recommend!

Me and my brother are the ones lucky to have a good day and food when they do like openings but was only for family members and the owner was so nice to invite us to go in and eat all the dishes that they had on the menu, this was awesome And we always stop to join the food

I stop here a couple times a month when I go to Crystal lake. It is right past the Algonquin main downtown bypass. I usually get the chicken or beef melanoise torta!! Plus you can't forget to try a glass of horchata!!!

Best Mexican food in the area and the best place to cater food for any event. We discovered this place 2 years ago after moving 5mins away from it and have ordered food for every party and events since than. From full authentic Mexican food to amazing turkey dinner package last year, to pastas and many more.

4.5 stars. Food is overall really good. The bar is really high for Mexican food in the Chicagoland area, and most of their stuff is pretty good. The chips are the best I've ever had, I will say that. Guac is passable and the salsa is a miss. The burritos are big and not TOO greasy which is a plus. They prepare their meat differently than other places and it's not bad. The rice and beans are pretty tasty. I'm not docking any rating for this but I do want to mention I sure wish they were open later haha.

This is truly run as a warm family style Mexican restaurant where the (apparent) owners are very friendly, warm and make delicious authentic Mexican food. It may not be great like feast food but they offer their menu "to go" (para llevar), which is what worked out the best for us that day. The fries, cheese and steak (papas fritas con queso y asada) was surprisingly and extremely delicious! The Chimichanga was also especially tasty! My family and I highly recommend this place!

My daughter had her wedding catered from Bella Vista. I can’t say enough about the food being the best and the quantity is very generous. The service and presentation was wonderful. Everyone loved the food and had more than enough to eat. The staff was outstanding. They definitely added to a perfect day. Thank you so much!

Thanks to all the hard work and excellent food. From the minute we met with Jorge for a tasting to the clean up at the end of our wedding was the easiest thing in our wedding planning. Communication was constant with top tier food. Not one person complained about the food. Absolutely delicious. if you need catering or just a great dinner this is the place to go! You guys will be catering the next Pope function for sure!

My favorite spot for Mexican Food! Tacos, Tortas, Burritos, Enchiladas, everything is amazing. **EDIT** It has been about a year since my last review of Belle Vista, and I stand by my original 5 star rating. This is still my favorite spot for Mexican Food, and there are many restaurants that are much closer. The food is excellent, and extremely consistent. The staff are always friendly. I have never been disappointed here. My go-to order: Steak Taco Dinner: Cilantro, Onion, Sour Cream, Cheese Al Pastor Torta: Everything on it Guacamole and Chips Horchata Do yourself a favor and try this place out.

Best Mexican Restaurant in the Crystal Lake/Algonquin area HANDS DOWN! The food is always fresh and authentic. My husband and I drive 20 minutes one way to get their food for takeout - it is truly that good. The drive-thru makes order extremely convenient, and the staff are always so kind and appreciate if your business.

I have been going here for months on my break from work, there is a reason for this. The food is simply amazing, with a good selection of food to choose from their menu. The other big factor that I keep coming back is the people working there. They are very friendly, caring, and pros when it comes to cooking. They deserve more attention and customers for their passion and commitment.

My husband and I came here for the first time yesterday after seeing some positive reviews. We each ordered a burrito, which unfortunately made both of us sick. This was disappointing as we were both really excited about trying this place. Even with the food getting us both sick, we still didn't want to cross off the restaurant completely and perhaps give it another try at some point down the line, but did want to request a refund for the poor experience we had. The manager I spoke to on the phone was extraordinarily rude about the refund request right away and is why my husband and I will not be returning again at all. Instead of apologizing for the experience we had, he proceeded to tell me over the phone that we should have just gone to the hospital if we were sick and finally to come get my refund and then not to come back again, among other things. Never have I been met with such 0 customer service from management. He very half heartedly said "sorry for your experience" when picking up my refund in person, but how he spoke to a customer over the phone was absolutely abysmal, I guess it's much easier to be completely unkind to someone over the phone. Will not be returning here again and would not recommend.

Bella Vista catered for my wedding this past weekend and all my guest kept saying how amazing the food was! They have a variety of foods to choose from, such as Mexican, American, Chinese, Italian and much more! I’ve ordered from them for two years and they have never disappointed! All their food is made fresh from scratch and the staff is very nice and available to make your event a special one! Totally recommend!! 5/5 stars ⭐️🌟🌟⭐️🌟

We had Bella Vista catered for my baby shower over the weekend, everyone loved the food. And we were glad theres was leftovers for ourselves lol. We order from here a couple times a month, so we already knew the food was going to be great! Jorge & his staff are always so nice and accomodating when we come in. Ive recommended his restaurant to numerous of my own clients/coworkers. They will always be our go-to, and hope to cater again for future parties!

So happy we found Bella Vista when looking for a caterer for our party of 30-35 people. We called for prices and we were invited to come in to try some different options. We ordered the “taco bar” and selected carnitas, barbacoa & steak tacos. So much food for a great price, everything was fresh & delicious and it was a huge hit at the party. I highly recommend Bella Vista for any type of catering. It was a pleasure to work with Jorge and his dedication to making everything perfect was so refreshing on a busy Memorial Day weekend.

My first vist was on Cinco de Mayo. They were very busy, they were very nice and the food was very good. I went here for Cinco de Mayo again this year. I will say that they are always wonderful people and make delicious Mexican foods. Been my go to place since my first visit.

Stopped by on my semi to this little place on my way to deliver a load to McHenry and it was one of the best choices I made today. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a really nice lady that took my order. I got 4 tacos de carnitas and I had to try the birria ones so I got 1 of those. And to be honest, they were really good!!! I love really far from here but I'm going to take.the drive with the whole family when I'm off that's how good the tacos were. Thank you guys for the great food and even better customer service! Highly recommended!!

Most authentic asada tacos in the area! Steak is quality meat and seasoned very well. We find ourselves coming back every time we are in the mood for Mexican food. Highly recommend!

We had Christmas Eve catered by Bella Vista. The business owner, Jorge, was fantastic from the start. Great communication and coordination for the delivery! I wish I had taken more photos because the food was incredible and there was so much quality and quantity for a great price.

Bella Vista catered a McHenry County College Retiree's meeting. Jorge and staff prepared and served a taco bar--the beef and chicken were well seasoned, hot and tender with corn and flour tortillas and a variety of taco toppings. The food was delicious and Jorge is easy to work with. I look forward to visiting Bella Vista to order from their menu--I really, really recommend Bella Vista!

Tortas (La Bomba and Chilanga) and quesadilla were delicious! Carnitas burrito was just ok. Ordered delivery and the tortas actually held up decently. Barbacoa was a good value as well.

They catered my event on September 3rd for my daughters baptism & was really amazed by the attention to detail. They made sure to visit the venue a week prior for set up arrangements. Everyone loved the presentation & finally when we tasted the food it was everything I hoped for. All my guests asked for contact information. We never got to attend the taste testing due to schedule but it didn’t matter because it was perfect!

We book them last minute for our daughter’s 15th birthday and they met our expectations. We had the bar and taco service! The food was delicious everyone enjoyed the great service!

I ask for the bistec a la mexican and they made it really fast, they put more than usual black pepper but still was good

Guacamole is not homemade. It's that junk you buy at Costco. They probably bought the chips there as well. Taco meat was flavorless. Peppers and carrots were from a can.

Had the chile relleno dinner. Chiliano's were a little bit soggy. Salsa was okay, chips were just okay, and the guacamole was great. The rice and beans were you're running the Mill and plain with little to no seasoning. Another one of those places I probably not revisit since there is better mom and pop places in this area too. Tired this one more time just Incase I went the first time on a "off" night and the food was still not good, greasy and either no flavor or just not good flavor. Had to change my rating from 2 stars to 1.

Had Bella Vista cater and cook for a large graduation/ summer party. The food was excellent and the guacamole was amazing! They served our guest great tacos and quesadillas with chips and guacamole as an appetizer. Their setup was very tasteful! They were very accommodating and helpful with any questions or concerns we had. I would definitely recommend them and use them in the future!

They have amazing food! Their hot Cheetos burrito is by far my favorite(I’ve tried both with chicken and beef and both are really good), and over time I have definitely become a regular! The customer service is on point and I like the fact they have a drive-thru! I have already recommended so many people come here.
