Excellent meal. Such a cute small town. Our server, Madison, was so attentive and sweet. Awesome night!

I live in South Florida & stay with a friend in Milton a few months out of each year. I still don't know the area well but came across Blackwater Bistro while hoping to find a really good Muffaletta without having to drive to NOLA. This place has been one of my favorite things about Milton. It's really pretty inside. Clean. Awesome, friendly staff. Being on the river is a nice bonus & the food is EXCELLENT! Their Muffalleta is definitely my favorite & the olive tapenade on it is incredible. We've tried everything from the cajun cheesecake to the triple threat creole pasta as well as at least 2 or 3 dishes from every section of their menu & have yet to come across a meal we didn't love. Definitely a not so hidden gem of the area

My husband and I 1st time at restaurant. Poor food, poor service. Husband's ribs tuff, mashed potatoes and gravy cold. My grouper was cold, sent back for more cold fish. Server never asked if 2nd better. Sever at table several time to give checks, never took a dish or plate away. We will try 1 more time, if bad again.. That's just waste of our time, experience and money. 3-13-21

Quaint little place that big on taste. We shared the Chicken & Waffle Sandwich that was Huge. Very exciting flavors.

I love the building and the location. They often have live music. The staff are friendly and attentive. Yummy food.

Blackwater Bistro never disappoints! We have been coming here frequently for several years and the food and service is always amazing. Tonight we went out to dinner and had the usual wonderful experience. Our server, Madison, was very attentive, the food was fresh and delicious. We even got a visit from the chef, just making sure everything was to our liking. Which it was. If you are looking for a local place to have a special dinner, lunch, Sunday brunch, this is the place!

I went to bunch last Sunday for the all you can drink Mimosa. That didn't happen. I paid and then decided to have another and was told I couldn't because I paid my bill all ready. To me that shouldn't be an issue I already paid. I had the Eggs Benedict. Don't order it!! So disappointed because I've heard the food was good. I won't go back.

I've been meaning to write a review about this place. The food was ok. What bothered me the most was when I paid in cash and the server did give me back the exact change. It irks me when servers just assume to keep change when I didn't tell them anything. I was with my mom at the time for dinner and kept my mouth shut.

Everything about this experience was awesome! The food is delicious!! Our server, Marlee, was on point and attentive! Can't wait to return.

Found Blackwater Bistro on the Facebook Foodies group and just had to try it. I am sure glad we did. The food and atmosphere was perfect, but BEST of all was the service. Marlee was amazing. Very attentive and was an incredibly genuine person. If you do end up trying this place, get the most of your experience and ask for Marlee (that's Marlee not Marley and me).

Went tonight with Bible study group, and the food and service was amazing!! Marlee was so nice and attentive! I loved that they had lots of gluten free options too.

What looked like a nice place from the outside was quite the contrary. The restaurant is borderline filthy and had a weird smell to it. Our table was not clean and there was food on the ground under our seats. Wife and I ordered an Italian pizza and the mushroom Swiss burger. The pizza was alright but the burger was flavorless and gave a stomach ache. Our service was very good. Touched the table three times and made sure we had what we needed. $37 for two mediocre dishes plus a mandatory processing fee was a little shocking considering the experience we had. We may come back here at some point but first impressions were not great.

This was my second time here and I enjoyed it. Have only eaten outside seating but it's cute and comfortable. We got the appetizer of the day which was a spread of toasted bread with things like olive salad, pickled tomatoes, goat cheese, roasted garlic, and balsamic glaze-- very good and surprisingly the perfect ratio of bread and things to put on it. Madison was sweet, patient, and accommodating. I didn't like the shepherds pie and she offered to replace it with something else without hesitation. I appreciate that she took initiative to make sure I was satisfied. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Went for Brunch first time and ordered bottomless mimosa which I paid for. The bill was paid and we all were sitting back talking and tried to order another, but was denied our bottomless mimosa…not just me the entire table. I’m sorry but I paid for that! I only had 2 ! One in our party went to management and he didn’t want to hear the issue. Bottom line, if there are stipulations to endless mimosa it should be explained up front. Also, the service and food were not that good. First time and the last time for me. Maybe they should also get a better manager who actually has management skills. I just saw your response and there again not management material because none of that happen. 20 people lol there Weren’t even 20 people in that area let alone staff members that were working that day post the videos go ahead since you want to speak so boldly. I guess you feel so validated because you have like a monopoly in Milton because you’re like the only business or nice restaurant in that area but hey, we’re calling you out!!!! You are a joke!! Bye!!

What a gem in the small town of Milton! I'd put this menu and service up against any restaurant in Manhattan or LA. But what makes it better, is the small town, oh so Southern charm. It is grounded in Southern tradition. As a worldwide foodie traveler, this gets my highest recommended for a place to eat.

Just had brunch and the Blackwater Bistro and had an amazing experience. Madison was our server and she is really amazing. She made our visit memeroable. If you are in the moof for great good and amazing service, i recommend the Blackwater Bistro in Milton.

Had a great lunch today! We drove in from Cantonment and we were not disappointed. I had the potbelly sandwich and it was delicious. A bit messy to eat but I managed. My sister had a pizza and it was delicious. We both had a salad with blue cheese dressing yum! The sweet potato waffle fries are worth coming back for! Our server was awesome and on top of everything. Go check them out.

my husband and I are from TN visiting our friends. we came here for brunch and it was delicious! our server Madison was very attentive and always made sure we had what we needed! I had the biscuits and gravy & my husband had the chicken & waffle. we will be back!

Absolutely the best food! Marlee waited on us and was the sweetest person in the world. Shrimp and Grits are to die for and the Key Lime Pie Martini was perfect.

If u checked Google reviews and found delicious pictures - don't go there on Sunday . They got poor Sunday menu , because they work till 2pm.( wich is weird as well 😳)

Consistent, delicious, and all around the best brunch in town. My family and I try a new brunch place every week, from Pensacola to fort Walton. However, blackwater bistro has become our new place that we will go every week. The staff, including Madison, are so well mannered and attentive!

Let me start by saying this place has great food and a great atmosphere. But our server Virginia made our first trip here miserable. She was having a rough night and it definitely was projecting onto everyone she was serving around us. She was very rude and miserable each interaction we had. I normally don’t hold that against an establishment but she was ridiculous. Again the food was amazing and atmosphere was good.

We thoroughly loved our experience at this restaurant. The food was excellent. The service was so friendly. We really enjoyed it.

I haven’t been to the bistro in a while and was so unfamiliar with the brunch menu. I had the most wonderful waitress (Madison), and she gave me the BEST recommendation!!!! The bistro never fails to make good food. Even something simple as biscuits n gravy, they do it SO WELL!! I’ll be going back for brunch regularly from now on I got the black n blue omelette special and omg it was so fantastic 🤩 again, hats off to Madison for the recommendation ♥️

Ahi tuna was the best I've ever had and I just had some at New Orleans best restaurant, GW Fins. Service was great, thanks to Madison, our server. It was packed the evening I went, but great crowd, so I love that atmosphere. Keep up the good work!

Food and atmosphere was nice. But what made the experience 5 star was our server Madison. I told her I was new to the area and not from the south. She recommended the bread pudding for dessert and she wasn't wrong. Her smile and attitude was genuine with all of her customers.

My cousin and I went to Blackwater Bistro for Sunday brunch and sat at a table near the bar . Understandably it was a little noisey . However, the bartender was angry about a patron ( I believe ) Appeared to be someone he knew . The bartender was very loud and repeatedly said " He is F ing disgusting ". I am not a prude but his outburst definitely took away from the experience.

We have always loved Blackwater Bistro, and the Sunday Brunch has been a great addition. All of the wait staff have been great, although we now request Madison when we can. She is adorable and ALWAYS does a wonderful job!

One of our favorite local spots. Servers are personal, attentive and friendly. Food is yum! Burgers are juicy, salads are fresh, and the menu is diverse for the picky eaters. They’re always willing to accommodate preferences and I love supporting local restaurants!!! This one also offers a military discount, not expected but definitely nice that the owner likes to recognize the military’s service!!! Love this place!!! They have a live band on Fridays and Saturdays and a delicious Sunday brunch menu. AND during the spring and fall…the Bands on the Blackwater concerts can be heard from the outside porch seating…sooo love this place, oh..I’m pretty sure I already said this! Try this local fav, you won’t regret it!!!

This place used to be phenomenal when they first opened and it was the lady chef. Now it’s still ok but not great. Food is not nearly as good and they actually charge you for things that should already be served on the food. We had to ask for extra sauce for the dish we ordered and got charged $8 dollars for it! We shouldn’t have had to even ask had it been made properly. The potato’s were left over from the previous day ( they were a grey color) and almost greasy? for lack of a better word. Service as usual wasn’t good but it really never was even in the beginning. But we didn’t go for the service we went for the food. Sad to say but I don’t think we will be going back again after patronizing them since they first opened. Sad day for us

Delicious dinner entree with generous portions. I lived the majority of my lifetime in New York City and in Houston, TX and this restaurant could compete head-on with any of the fabulous restaurants that I have dined in over the years. (Palm Beach, FL, London and Paris included). Madison is an outstanding server!

During visit to Blackwater Bistro, I had the opportunity to listen to great music by Jason Crysell on Wednesday night! The gumbo was “New Orleans” Perfect and the Traditional Burger was cooked to perfection and juicy. What amazed me the most is the service I received from Madison- she was very tentative and gave me the time necessary to enjoy my meal. I will definitely be back!!!

I stopped by blackwater bistro this morning for some brunch, and I was so pleasantly pleased! Madison, our waitress was so kind, and she went above and beyond with us. The omelette sandwich was absolutely delicious and those breakfast potatoes? To die for! I will definitely be back!

Food: Order the Italian Pizza for lunch. The pizza was loaded and full of flavor. The pizza is big enough to share for at least two adults. The Atmosphere: There seems to be plenty of seating inside and outside the bistro. There are tables on the mini deck before entering the bistro , tables on the low walk way in front of the bistro, seating available inside as well as bar seating. Service: Service was quick and food was served at a decent temperature.
