The food here was absolutely terrible and not worth the price we paid. The fried okra included way too many oversized woody pieces and they also smelled burnt but did not taste of it. When we got our entrees they were inedible. The catfish was ruined by the taste of being cooked in burnt oil, same with the French fries. The green beans tasted like the liner of the can they came out of. I wouldn't come back and I would not recommend it to anyone. In reply to the business: Then there were three failures on the night we dined, a failure on the cook's part not noticing the oil was no good, a failure on our server's part not noticing the food smelled strongly of burnt oil, and finally a failure on the managements part not ensuring their processes are followed to not serve food with bad oil.

Lipstick on my cup should have told me this place is going down. The shrimp tasted like it was cooked in old grease and the sides were horrible as well. The slaw was so watery and the beans were cold. What a big let down.

The Wednesday $6.99 baskets are delicious and affordable.

Expensive for what you get and the quality of the food

Every Wednesday they have half price menu on some of their items. This is pretty awesome for a restaurant to do that. Their food and service is excellent. Also it is reasonably priced even when you pay the full amount. We eat there every Wednesday

Our family loves this place. It's such a local homey southern seafood style restaurant. 😋 food is good 👍 service is great and plenty of seat. They have a big room for event as well. Recommend to try this place.

Great tasting Catfish Fillets, the Cornmeal Breading they use is nice and crunchy and is not Greasy.

Wow 👏 some of the Best Oysters I have had. Our Server waited and took care of us all 8 of us tonight. Everyone food was Great! We will be stopping by again.

No alcohol but food was awesome

I'm a tourist from NC that came to this place with another woman and a teenager. The place had 4 different rooms with empty tables, but we were seated in the farthest table from the entrance, in the corner, right outside the men's bathroom. Horrible place to seat three women. I asked for another table, which there were plenty to choose from, and twice was told no. I will never be back nor will I never recommend this to anyone, especially women. Shame on you!

It's ok.... nothing special....sort of pricey for what you get....only thing that is really good is the Cole slaw

The quality of the food has dropped in the last 4 years. Last time I ate at this restaurant. Catfish are smaller and prices up changed their cooking method to more flour based than cornmeal and using a lot of msg. I am highly allergic to msg. Also they now put a charge for using a card instead of cash. Won't be eating at this establishment again

We typically like this eatery but seemed to fall of its mark. The salad quality was poor - bag lettuce it looked like. My wife ordered 2 whole catfish half of one side on one was missing- fish seemed smaller than before. Ordered side of fried okra extra crispy (not) and $3.59 for roughly eight pieces of okra was ridiculous. Having thoughts about coming back. Waitress was good. Started getting a little warm Inside the restaurant before leaving

Very dissapointed with serving staff and especially manager tonight. Meal was served without side dish, once it did come to the table, it wasn't completely done. When we ask for a manager to discuss the issue, it took her ten minutes to come to the table and when she did arrive, she was more interested in cleaning the table off than listing to me explain our unsatisfactory. The catfish was very tasty but overall experience was very horrible. It will be sometime before we come back.

Good old fashioned home cooking at its best. And its great for all appetites from platters to all you can eat and the prices are great too. If you don't mind the drive it really is worth it as we came from gulf breeze. Can't wait to go back. Went back and its still good. Nothing but the best of home cooking with a family atmosphere. Think grandma's house nuff said. Lol

Food wasn't that good. Pricey for what you get. Take out order, and the bags really looked like they were just thrown together. Phone in order, the person seemed in to big of a hurry to answer my questions, (never been, or ordered here before)and in a bigger hurry to get off the phone. Two items missing when I arrived home... But I think it's because she didn't pay attention to what I was saying. FIRST AND LAST VISIT for me. Btw.. Owners, if catfish is literally in your name, and people order it, should they not get more than 3 tiny nuggets? ( McDonald's makes bigger nuggets) By tiny nuggets, I mean 3 bites... And all catfish gone!!! Am not a come again patron.

Sat us in the dark after I asked them not to. French fries were dead! Stuffed crab was 3clam shells full of stove top stuffing!

Sadly our Pensacola location closed. So we drove to Milton to try it out there. Was impressed place was clean, very inviting, everyone was super sweet and outgoing. Miss our Pensacola location, Milton's outta the way!

Menu is very limited and I would only recommend going here if you want fish. I went with someone else and tried their hamburger and it was super salty and I could not eat it. Also their coleslaw was not my favorite as it had a pickle taste. I also thought it was pricey for the portion size! Service was good!

I had the fried Catfish filets, baked potato, fried okra, hushpuppies and coleslaw! What a feast! Best catfish - cooked perfectly, seasoning delicious! Baked potato and coleslaw...also delicious! Hushpuppies light and crispy. All was wonderful. My waitress Kim was superb. Very on it, sweet, and didn't miss a note. I went for lunch, and what can I say, except it lived up to the hype! Will definitely be back! Atmosphere: OK, but could use a facelift!

The fish is excellent. Everything I had was Fantastic. Dave's coleslaw was awesome. I had the all you can eat fish and shrimp... Perfect!

Great host, very attentive made sure we were taken care of.

I hope the foods is good, because we have been standing in the foyer waiting to be greeted and pick up our online pre paid for order for over 10 minutes. We have even walked inside and was told by Krista that we had to wait for Grace to possibly get some tartar sauce or cocktail for out order. Kind-of regretting my dinner decision at this point

Great food and excellent service

First time visiting, while passing through Milton. First and utmost, our server Christa made the experience a 5 star right from the start. Her friendly southern charm and excellent hospitality made us feel right at home. Believe me, my wife and I are both experienced guest service people and know what it takes to provide that to customers. Christa exemplifies this and any employer that she works for will prosper. The food was good and we were stuffed with a couple of combo meals. We would return again. If you go, ask for Christa’ section and you won’t be disappointed. She could work in any fine dining restaurant.

I never had catfish before. I guess I am not a fan. If I go back I will try the shrimp. Not overly impressed with everything but I am not a local so I may just not have a feeling for what is the local favorite dishes. Update: The burgers are amazing! I got the double cheeseburger. So good!

3 Stars ... it's okay. Southern hospitality is rich, the menu is low cost, fried, fried, and more fried, all made and presented to satisfy locals brought up by down-home cooking. I'm only guessing that there's more corn meal in David's than able to be processed from the Field of Dreams. I'm probably certain the restaurant's reception and management remains true to the local standard where your satisfaction is guaranteed. Their hearts are in the right place.

I ate here again today for the third time in last 5 years. I give them props for sourcing their catfish from Mississippi and they say it right on their menu, so you don't have to guess...its legit southern raised catfish. Waitresses were nice and helpful. But never have I walked away with feeling of 'that's some of the best catfish ever', quite the opposite. The filets had a serious fishy taste. So to me there's an issue somewhere between the supplier, shipping, age when served, etc. To be honest, I've had better catfish at Cracker Barrell and other places. It should have a hint of catfish taste, but not anything fishy. So I would have given them 3 stars overall due to this, but since they proclaim to be a catfish specialty place, I had to give them only 2.

Had the fried catfish, French fry’s, hush puppies, and fried okra. It was ok. But boy they must use very cheap bad oil! The next day was awful, for both of us. Just saying…be prepared !

Being charged a fee to use my credit card at a restaurant is wrong. The owner should eat that cost.

Quiet, Relaxed atmosphere this afternoon .. I was busy having a conversation with my sister and forgot to take photos of the food to share😉 We had the fried pickles as an appetizer along with the fried shrimp with hush puppies, cheese grits and David’s coleslaw . It was delicious . I love that they leave a pitcher of tea on your table so that you can refill your glass as needed 🫖 The service was great and everyone was so friendly 😊 Now, off to do some geocaching …and hopefully, to work off some of these calories 😊

Quaint little place. Hard to find but could be worth it. The good: The restaurant itself is a staple of Milton. It was there when I moved to that area in 98. The atmosphere is about what you'd expect from a country restaurant. Including the decor. It's a family place. The service was great. I was with a large group and the lady who took care of us did that fairly well. Given my history in the restaurant industry, I'd hire her to take care of my guests in a heartbeat. She was genuinely kind, attentive, quick and accurate. The bad: I understand that I run a risk when I order something that isn't the specialty. I don't order a hamburger when I go out for Mexican. This particular evening, I probably should've stuck to that rule. Problem is, I'm not a huge catfish fan. That being said, I ordered what I thought was a fairly safe chicken fingers basket. What I got was an overcooked, previously frozen, made in a factory sorry excuse for food. It would be a logical conclusion to say everything on my plate was from a mass supplier, stored in the freezer, and thrown in a fryer or microwave before being served. The "chicken" tenders were particularly disappointing, being ¾ breading and ¼ chicken jerky. If they had fresh food, it would be an easy five stars, but the stuff they put on my plate, I wouldn't give to my dog

Omg... if you go in you have to ask for the sweetest server I've had in a long time. Christa is her name we went in yesterday and I wasn't really familiar and she suggested the seafood Platter. Delicious!! Everything was wonderful. We will be back!

The service was great, but the food was not my favorite. I would have loved to see some more options that weren't fried. The menu said they had crab claws, but they didn't, and that was why we went there, so I was pretty bummed out. I got some boiled shrimp, but they had zero flavor. The atmosphere could use some sprucing up and maybe some decorations or something. I probably will not be back.

Budget friendly and great service good eatery with a wide variety of food choices

Fast friendly service and food arrived quickly. Fish basket was plenty for me. I would probably pass on the oysters. They were tiny, tiny! The slaw and okra are always a winner, though!

$16 for the smallest side of grits, baked beans, 6 puny pieces of catfish and two hushpuppies. Taste was 2/5.

The food and service was excellent. I ordered the grilled fish, lightly blackened. And it was truly the best tasting grilled fish I ever had. The sides were all very good. I was there with my family and everyone really enjoyed what they had. The only down side to this place is it's kind of dark and not very cozy. Maybe it just needs a few touches or updates here and there on the inside. But all in all it was great. Will def go again.

Food was delicious as always. We always get catfish (whole and fileted) and popcorn shrimp. The hushpuppies are great too! The Crestview location was closed so we drove 45 miles to eat here. We miss our restaurant!!

Firecracker shrimp poboy. This is hands down the best shrimp poboy I've ever had. The firecracker sauce is perfect! Plenty of flavor, with just the right amount of heat. The bun was perfectly toasted! Crispy on the inside and softer than kittens on the outside! If Jesus Christ came to my house to stay a night, I'd offer him a bed made from these buns! Then he'd go back up to heaven and repave the golden roads with David's Shrimp poboys! The fries were the only slightly disappointing part of the meal. They were luke warm, and felt kinda soggy. But had great flavor! Our server was awesome! When you order a sweet tea, they bring you the whole pitcher and leave it at the table! Genius! And delicious!

Have not been to David's Catfish House in a few years, service was awesome, food was good. The girls and I had a good time.

We had the 2 piece catfish dinner and the food was not hot and the French Fries were just scattered on the plate. We paid $15.99 and that did not include drink. For that amount of money at least it could of been hot. There were hardly any fries. We will never go there again. Too expensive for what you get!

I'm from Louisiana I've been here twelve years I've tried to go two tmes and each time was worse I will never go there again I don't even want to give them one store they're not even worth that

Nice, quiet, and traditional. It is a great spot for out-of-towners to enjoy some delicious food as they get off the road.

This location is great. The one in Pensacola makes it very difficult to get more food on the all you can eat meal. This location was on top of everything. Heather was a phenomenal waitress. She was very attentive, personable and kept the refills coming for drinks and food. The food was fresh, hot and simply delicious. Way better experience than the other David’s location.

I honestly don't recommend this location. Ate here today for my birthday an was very disappointed. $25 for a plate that had barely anything plus it was cold . My kids barely touched there food as well becausethe food tasted odd . They also charge you $3 extra to pay with card.. Definitely will not be back

Went there for dinner with a friend and the both of us ended up getting sick after eating there. Friend asked for sweet tea "NO" lemon and was brought sweet tea with lemon. Asked for extra ice in the glass, and was brought a separate glass with ice. What's bad is, the container that the seasoning was in was nasty as hell.

I will start with the positives. The service from the waitress was outstanding. However, I've eaten here in the past it's been a while with no complaints and food being tasty. The food this time wasn't as tasty. Catfish was okay, coleslaw wasn't as good like something missing in it. I had the tuesday shrimp special, priced fair, but the shrimp had a little odor and weren't the freshest, French fry portion was very small, hush puppies were outstanding though and the hot tarter sauce left on the table wasn't good . I thought the prices for the catfish were a bit high, probably wont be back for another year.

We are at the one in Milton. My first time there. Food was good, big portions and great service. Coleslaw is homemade.

All the seafood they cook there is amazing. Excellent team working to service their very regular clients. We keep coming back for the same reason. Oh...BTW the prices are excellent. They could raise the prices 10% and it wouldn't slow business at all.
