The signature Le Pancake was over baked. Eggs and Style was dry, overcooked potatoes and sausage. Too much noise, can't conduct any private conversation. Overall, the quality has gone down but price went up. This was my 4th visit, from excited to disappointed. Will just come here for the dessert.

I love that Bottega Louie is still here in DTLA and thriving. It’s seen the neighborhood get better and worse over time, and it’s still the same bright space that it’s always been, somehow casual but sophisticated. The service is still professional and friendly, and the food still delivers! And the dessert and all the sweets in the beautiful glass case are first rate. The room, essentially one giant, marble-floored echo chamber (yes, a bit boomy but it matches the vibe of the space), feels from another era, in the best possible way.

I was unable to buy a takeaway dessert from the pastry shop because it was closed at 10pm, however it should be open until 11pm according to Google maps. The staff refused to serve and directed me to the restaurant saying that it operates until 11pm is a separate business and may have the same desserts in the inventory. I went to the next counter and the lady standing up there informed me that they only have souffle as dessert.. I am surprised that how these “two separate businesses under the same name” are disconnected and failed altogether satisfying a simple customer request. Edit a day later: I stopped by to give them another chance, and they screwed up once again. I wanted to buy a birthday cake, but the selection of cakes in the size I wanted was very limited. I asked the lady if they could save one for me while I had lunch in the restaurant, and I would pick it up after I finished. She told me I had to pay first, or someone else might buy it, which was fair enough. So, I paid, and she packed the cake, placing the bag in front of me. I told her I’d pick it up later, but she said they didn’t have enough space to hold it. (Why not just leave it in the same place she took it from? And why was she arguing with me? All in all, it was a dumb discussion.) Finally, she asked the supervisor, and the supervisor put it in the fridge. It was simple as that, so why lying about the space..”

This was an awesome brunch. We had the truffle pizza and the souffle pancake and they were both amazing! Highly recommend coming here. Came again and we ordered the truffle pizza and the carbonara. Felt that the pizza wasn't as good as before but the carbonara was top notch!

$14 Montebello tart, and they use food coloring and syrup, not real pistachio paste. What an insult to French dessert. Seriously what is the hype of this shop? Y'all never have been to a real pâtisserie?

This restaurant is overrated and pricey. We ordered truffle pizza and louie salad. The truffle pizza was cold, dry and no flavor. The Louie salad has too much dressing and was not fresh. I expected higher than this when considering their price. I will not go there again. What a pricey experience..

I think this is one of the best places for casual dining at a first-class restaurant/bakery. They have an espresso and separate bar for all your beverages needs. The desserts are second to none. There is a dessert area for Togo pastries. This beautiful place to shop or dine. I love this place for their decor and service.

This is okay… this place was close to the hotel we are staying and I thought it would be more “fancy” meaning: better food, better service. It is very loud inside. Pizza was okay (very big -consider sharing), I definitely had better pizzas. We also got a salad, which was fine. Overall, mediocre and my expectations were higher.

Overhyped. My date and I also noticed the employees were being treated poorly on this particular day. Gorgeous little gem in the heart of downtown. Decor was perfectly French, and the patisserie was out. of. this. world. Macaron line was out the door!

My partner and I always come here for dessert and it is nothing short of amazing! The flavors and textures blend of their desserts together so well! The food is also pretty decent. Parking is not easy in this area, so allow some time to find a spot.

We are not from California; however, we have dined here many times. We love the salad and pizza. The service is always excellent. Only complaint, they have continued to charge a 5% "service charge." It is not a tip for the server. We always ask for it to be removed.

Great food. Kind of overpriced. Kind of brain dead system though. Restaurant was empty but made us wait for 20 or 30 minutes because no reservation... once seated it was still basically empty all the way through the bill. Bougey vibe but also basic. Tiramisu was ok. Salad was great.

Awesome service, atmosphere & delicious food! I went for brunch with my Mom and we were mostly impressed with top notch service throughout our brunch. Our server Kristiana C. was one of the most hospitable person I've ever met. I dine out quite often but I don't write reviews often. But I was so impressed by her service, I've decided to write a review. In addition to her service, we loved our main dishes, Farmers Market Breakfast was so healthy and delicious, I would eat that everyday. Thank you so much Ms. Kristiana C for making our dining experience so wonderful!!!

Everything was fine until they said I didn't order my food, the person who took my order put Pierre and not Derrick on my order. Could've just be a language barrier. But they were acting like I didn't pay for my food ahead of time. Kinda embarrassing. But the food was delicious even though it wasn't as hot 🤷🏾 from sitting there under another name.

As someone visiting Los Angeles for the first time, this is a great recommendation for dinner. While a bit pricey, the quality of the food is amazing! From the pizza to the pasta and truffle fries, you will not be disappointed.

Definitely feels more French than Italian in terms of atmosphere. Wide , open concept . Awesome, fast, attentive service . Got Bolognese and carbonara , both were absolutely fantastic . Rich, flavorful, filling . Fully stocked bar . Anything you can think of to make is probably available. Great cocktails. Probably the best Manhattan I've had . Would like to come by and try their pizza and some wine. Pizzas look huge !

In the display case where they sell desserts, the brunette Latina manager and the other square Latino attendant are rude. I have never had such an unpleasant experience with Latinos. They are normally very good at customer service. These two are giving a very bad image to that part of it. restaurant When you go to buy one of those desserts it is to have a good experience, not to have a bad time and leave without buying and you can see that they are not interested in whether it sells or not, I don't know why they work there if they don't like the customer service

We came here for dinner on Friday. Most tables were free, but we were kept waiting for over 15 minutes. Then we tried to order. Half of the dishes on the menu were not available. Desserts - same thing. Tiramisu, creme brulee - no you can't order. Thanks, but better stay away from this place.

This place was recommended to me by a friend who have been living in LA for years, as a traveller in LA, I definitely had an enjoyable time in here. Ordered several food items (tax and surcharge excluded) : 📍Le Noir ($14) 📍Hot Bailey's coffee ($12) Food was great but slightly too sugary for me... Despite that the service and food display was superb! In the end, I just couldn't resist to get the berries cake ($35) back home... Just wish that they could help to meet it at the fridge for a while when I am still enjoying my cake and coffee in the bar area...

Beautiful building. Ordered a smoked salmon on bagel and had to build it myself (comes on a plate and you have to do it all - for $18!). Horrible service, servers switched out in the middle of my meal and was given a snarky response when I noticed a completely different person was on the server floor. Very rude. Would not come back.

This is a good place to eat, I love the food there, but it's not for keeping a conversation. This place has a lot of echo, and you can't even hear the person next to you. Probably, that's why everyone has to speak loudly. seriously, you have to get out of there after you finish your meal. It's like a birds house.

Although I have dined here for brunch, lunch and dinner previously, I believe Louie is known best known for its cakes, pastries and macarons. One can order them with any meal or get take out in beautiful pastel boxes. My family loves the raspberry chocolate cake, limoncello tart and strawberry almond tart. The opera and Napoleon are also very good. The passion fruit , lavender and pistachio macarons are a must try.

Yeah it’s touristy but they have solid pastries, macarons and dining. It’s run well and has a level of consistency that comes from experienced restaurant operators. The only knock is the lack of sound insulation in the dining area. It can get pretty loud.

Bolognese is $32. The taste is good, but it costs about 5,000 yen in Japanese yen.

Food was not great. I was looking forward to the visit and was sadly disappointed. The bread was the hardest sourdough uve ever had. The Pomodoro was terrible. The sauce was like a spaghetti sauce and the noodles were thick as rope. Food was overpriced for what it was and the service was subpar. Not going bacj anytime soon. The only good thing about it was the convenient valet.

Intimidated by all of the sophisticated French names, Gloria helped me and my dad decipher the menu and recommended the best dishes. Such a lovely experience thanks to her and her charming personality. Will return for sure.

The place deserves to be visited by lovers of patisseries. Nice decor and space, full on weekends. The sweets have an incredible and delicate presentation! The service is not the highlight when first approached, but the waiter who speaks Portuguese was very polite, friendly, efficient and empathetic! Congratulations!

I don’t often disagree with the masses (ok, that’s a lie), but here I am. First of all - my personal waiter was flippant, impatient, and couldn’t care less about my dining experience. I asked for recommendations and a) the guy didn’t seem to be informed about the menu, and b) he clearly hated his job and wanted to finish his shift - he even expressed this to me at some point. Let’s get to the food now. I ordered the fish dish (priced at over $40) and honestly? It wasn’t that impressive. It was overly salty, the sauce was too flavourful in an overwhelming sense, and overall it wasn’t particularly satisfying to eat. The watercress salad and dressing was the best part honestly. I’m not really a macaron person either, but I tried them anyway thanks to the manager who was actually very kind and tried to amend the waiter situation. However - I can’t say I was blown away by them either. The only non disappointing facet to this restaurant was the wine and the dessert wine. Overall, the place lacks ambiance, it has annoyingly terrible sound clattering (you can hear almost every conversation taking place in the restaurant), and the waiters are all stressed and miserable. I mean, no one likes working in hospitality but at least fake a smile here and there, especially for a restaurant with above average prices. I came to Bottega Louie 2 years ago and had some kind of pasta ragu, and it was underwhelming as well. Honestly, if you’re in the area and want to try good food nearby - go to Joyce Soul and Sea or Joey’s.

The steak was cooked to perfection and the pizza was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Highly recommend this restaurant. The low lit environment gives a really nice ambiance as well

Food wasn't as good as expected

I went to this Black Pink restaurant in Downtown a long time ago and had a brunch date with friends. The food was mainly Italian. Spacious and bright space, Portobello fries are personally impressive. When you bite into the mushrooms, juice will burst out. It is delicious when paired with the sauce. I didn’t try the desserts, but I saw macarons in various colors and flavors. The tiramisu in the store was also recommended by many people. It seemed like afternoon tea would be good too.

I would give 5 stars if I had been well attended to, but I didn't have that experience, it feels like I was doing myself a favor by purchasing. But as the desire to try the sweet was greater, I bought it, but normally I wouldn't even buy it. Pistachio jam is delicious, light, tasty, smooth and not too sweet. The place is very beautiful, spacious and you can have full meals, or stop for coffee or eat one of the delicious sweets. The price is a little expensive, the sweets range from US$14 to US$16 per piece and the large ones are around US$45 and the meals follow the same price pattern.

Mas como a vontade de experimentar o doce era maior, comprei, mas normalmente nem compraria. O doce de Pistache é delicioso, leve, saboroso, suave e não muito doce. O local é muito bonito, amplo e pode-se fazer desde refeições completas, ou uma parada para o café ou comer um dos deliciosos doces. O preço é um pouco caro, os doces vão de US$ 14 a US$ 16 o pedaço é os grandes em torno de US$ 45 e as refeições seguem os mesmo padrão de preços.

Lovely interior but good and prices do not match Italian standards

The pastries are very beautiful. Very beautiful croissants pain au chocolat. The baguettes are tempting. I wanted to taste American macaroons. I tasted four flavors all chocolate was excellent as well as coconut chocolate. We have the best macarons in France It is a very noisy but visually pleasing food outlet. We chose takeout.

This place stays packed. The food was great. The only thing I didn't like is that they ran out of the ginger beer I wanted and the entree I originally ordered. Other than that, this is a place I highly recommend.

Delicious dessert and brunch! So many varieties of dessert, I would like to try different one next time! The service was phenomenal! The dessert is somewhere between sour and sweet so I don’t get bored of eating the whole thing. The french toast was also on point, it tastes great even without the syrup.

Perfect for having a quiet breakfast with very good pressure

We went here because it was close to our hotel, but ended up finding a new favorite spot! Everything was absolutely delicious, and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine selections.

Went there for breakfast. The place itself it’s easy on the eyes. However it’s very loud. I actually had to move tables because the table next to me (they’re put very close together) was being really loud in their conversation. Skip to the food, they serve you bread and butter but it’s cold :/. I had the French toast which was actually pretty good! They fruit was fresh and the compote was delicious! The sweetness and tartness was nicely balanced. It doesn’t come with whip cream but get it you won’t regret it. Coffee skip it and get something else.

This is such an incredible place! The building itself is beautiful but that is just to house all of the beautiful things inside! The patisserie is amazing. I had the celebration cake with strawberry jelly, vanilla sponge, whipped cream and a mirror glaze with macarons as garnish.

Service was really slow. We saw people who sat and ordered after us receive their food. Bar consistency was not the same. I ordered a sangria and it was topped off with garnish over crushed ice. My husband ordered one later at the table and it was served like a glass of wine. Food was great, but service lacked and was slow.

I've been visiting this place for the last few months and was always amazed by the quality of the products. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the service - more specifically, at the front counter where you buy macarons, cakes, and some other pastries. The ladies over there are always unmotivated, distracted, hanging out, and treating you as if you were bothering them. Today, for example, after several attempts to get their attention while they were hanging out and having a laugh some guy (finally!) told them that I was there waiting to make an order. No apologies, no 'what can I do for you'; they just looked at me like saying 'what do you want?'. On top of that, I wanted to know the price of some stuffed pastries they had and one of the girls had a condescending attitude that was rude and unnecessary. Unfortunately, these ladies are always like that: rude and completely careless. And it happens EVERY TIME I go. It's very disencouraging to find that kind of treatment in such a high-end place, with such high-quality products. If customer service is so uncaring, unfriendly, and unprofessional, you don't really want to go again no matter how good your sweets are. I have to clarify that this negative review is ONLY for the ladies at the front counter: the ones selling the pastries, and the ones at the coffee area (your coffee can froze in time before they even bother to let you know that your drink is ready). People at the bar and the restaurant are completely different: super nice, caring, and communicative. Or at least they act like they want to be there...

Loved the Tartufo pizza and the cocktails. The macaroon shop had unfortunately closed when we finished dinner. Valet parking is available.

Finally got to try lunch at Bottega Louie. It was great, but not the best. The ambiance is perfect for a date, and I always come back for their fruit tart and macarons. Macarons used to be so trendy here! Still a lovely spot for a treat and a beautiful dining experience.

A pasta restaurant that has been consistently loved for the past 15 years. As of 2024, the French dessert section is better than the meal menu, but it is lower than Artelice, Laduree, and Cedric Grolet! This place has Fruit Tarts that are great to buy as a gift when going to a grandmother's house in her 50s or 70s.

I came here for my brothers graduation and was really hoping for a good experience. Given the price and low quality food we were quite disappointed. The food was quite bland and did not seem fresh. The pizza and portobello fries were overcooked and hard to chew. Below mid food and exorbant prices. Ambience was also poor and was very noisy. I felt like I was in a warehouse.

French parties and Italian food but it works. We asked why and they said the chef just likes both. Agree. The chicken parm was really good especially the sauce. The Carbonara was also good and rich - organic poached egg and chunky Italian ham. Yum. Large space and kind of loud but food is great and walking distance from our hotel. Good wine list - not all California.

Stopped in for a DELICIOUS lunch. The Chicken Parmesan was more than satisfying, huge in portion and flavor. I finished lunch with an amazing Mocha from the cafe. Lunch was so amazing I had to go back for dinner before the end of my trip. There I had the Salmon entree. The pastries and desserts were quite disappointing but the Macaroons were delicious. Beautiful room but can get pretty echoey.
