Curry chicken and curry goat has no curry taste or seasoning. The dhal purie is just horrible. Please get some real caribbean cooks

Ordered Chicken Roti and it did not taste like curry. Tasted like it fell in the dishwater and then sold. Called back to complain and gentleman said ok and remained silent. Been going here on and off for many years but this is the worst and the attitude of the gentleman sucks. He should not answer the phone if he lack's people skills or does not know how to respond to customers. Roti did not smell like curry. Wasted money on horrible food. It felt like a furnace inside the shop.

Phollouri, tamarind balls, roti, doubles! Had to retrieve a hair from my mouth after a bite of my curry chicken roti and wasn't even mad🙌🏾 I did receive a slightly spoiled smelling/tasting curry once before.. I do hope that doesn’t happen again!!!

The food is always good, we drive over an hour to get Trini food. The only thing is the shop always look like it closing down, very dark inside

Not sure what changed from a year ago, the service is still very warm and Caribbean but the food this last go around was not as i remembered. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.

So annoyed with this business. After over 20 years they seem to never get better. I didn’t go there for over three years and thought I’d give it another try because a new guy was there. Now he’s gone (along with the quality service) and the “young people” are back. My dinner was ruined by too much “pepper” being pout on it after I SPECIFICALLY asked on the phone for SLIGHT PEPPER! Which means light amount. So I can’t eat it. I don’t think they know what “slight” pepper really means. Even when an order is called in and you’re told 20minutes, it still isn’t ready. Instead, the order is forgotten about and made harried and WRONG! I’m so done with them at this point.

I went & tried this restaurant today. I was provided an order of spoil rice & peas, hard plantain, and interesting tasting pholourie. Never again!

I have been coming to this establishment since I was a little girl in the late 1980s. This place used to have the best roti, doubles, drops & currant rolls! My family is from Trinidad and when my daddy, granny or uncles didn’t cook, we’d always come here knowing the food would be nothing short of amazing deliciousness! Especially since we lived 5 minutes away during those times; it was a win for sure! Now my daddy, siblings & I are farther away in Potomac, Md & Frederick, Md. At least 3-4 times out of a year, one of us will stop by to order and carry back roti for all. Unfortunately, Caribbean Palace is not the same amazing deliciousness we used to know. The last few years the chicken roti and doubles have lacked flavor (curry old, roti shell not fresh, barely any potato or chicken & watered down pepper sauce). Also, the prices consistently go up while the size has dramatically decreased. My husband picked up 3 chicken rotis at $15 each and doubles at $4 each yesterday and they were small and tasted horrible! We will not be returning to our once favorited caribbean restaurant due to the inconsistency of flavorful food.

I crave doubles all the time. So happy to find them here. So far from what I've tasted from Caribbean Palace, they are blowing all the other Caribbean joints around DC out of the water. Really nice pepper and tamarind sauces they give you on the side too. So amazing. Thrilled to know of this place.

This is the best Caribbean food I've had in the DC metro area in decades of living here. The doubles are absolutely delectable the rotis are large and affordable and delicious and the service is very friendly and generous.

Sadly good food & service is a rare find! I ordered a chicken roti & spinach both tasteless I was wondering how it was ready less than five minutes! Yuk precooked or something! I must remind myself to look at reviews! I would have avoided such disappointment

If you are big on customer service then this place isn't for you. That is something that is lack here badly! The food isn't like before and whoever owns it seems to don't care either. There's no way your establishment should have customers spending their hard earned money and not leave satisfied with either the service or the food. Food should never be fried and sit down to serve especially if it is something that can be fried quick. When I order food I expect it to be hot not cold. I mean let me serve ya'll cold food and then ya'll tell me how yah feel!!!!!!!

I wish I can give this review zero stars. I stopped to get food from here the other day and it was AWFUL!!!!!!!!! Both meals were extremely TASTELESS, VERY DRY, the ingredients were very INAUTHENTIC. Almost everything was sold out by the afternoon and the customer service was weak as well. It’s a shame because I would always travel a distance to get this food and have visited Carribean Palace countless times. Unfortunately, nothing I ordered tasted or looked like how it use to in the past. I end up trashing 2 whole meals (chicken curry meal and roti) including my doubles. Maybe the original owners or crew left and took everything with them including the recipes. This was a total waste of money for me. I am never coming back here ever again!

I've been going to Caribbean Palace for over 20 years..The food never disappoints me and now my 19 year old daughter's addicted to doubles and phoulorie..

I went to get a roti due to all the good reviews. The roti was just OK, I would give it 2.5 out of 5 stars. The doubles were also the worst I've ever had, 1 out of 5 stars. In regards to customer service, is was not good. I do not recommend.

Before I started keeping Kosher, I used to love coming here, specifically for the Roti, which I miss a lot, and never have time to make myself. I can still taste the fresh hot roti melt in my mouth and I haven’t been there since 2010. I’m sure the roti still taste just as yummy, well at least that is what my sister tell me.

Caribbean palace has been a staple in this area for a very long time. Let’s dig in, the location is rather busy but still manageable with plenty of parking. The staff was welcoming upon entrance, however some times not so friendly. I got the chicken with bone in roti and the flavors were on point. There could have been more filling inside of the roti however with it being so good that was the least of my worries. I would totally recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

The food is amazing! I was shocked to see they have a 3.6 rating. Granted there is no place to sit and eat, but it's advertised as carryout. Service is a little slow, but what GOOD caribbean restaurant isn't? I totally have no ties to this restaurant. They define do not deserve a 3.6 rating though. I would say 4.3 or 4.5. Only thing is the building is older and the insides could be spruced up. Food 4.8, Service 4.5, atmosphere 3.8. I think that's fair!

A go to Roti spot. Roti is very tasty and fresh. Friendly staff. Good customer service. In and out even if it’s busy. Price is good. I recommend going to this restaurant for Roti.

My first time here, I am so sick to my stomach!!!!!!! I am Jamaican and we KNOW HOW TO COOK CURRY GOAT, my mom and I was doing errands and decided to check out their food, while sitting in the car eating the food I was like oh no! The curry apparently was watered down, no gravy, alot of. Water, the food just disgusting!!!! The lady who gave me my money back a slim light skin, slender girl have zero customer service manners. Go to Mc Donald's or anywhere else!

Used to frequent when I was in the area. The food is definitely not not the same as in the past. Brought 2 shrimp dinners & jerk chicken. Ended up throwing all 3 away. The chicken roti was ok. Will not patronize again.

Decent when you need local curry. Kids that run it can be rude, your order is guaranteed to be wrong every-time. Just go to Island Zest in Wheaton.

Please avoid. I know that there are very few West Indian establishments in the area, and you may feel like you have no choice but please avoid. The food is mediocre, and they are expensive. They just raised their prices and it is not reflected on their menu. You're better off cooking your own food. We need more quality West Indian establishments in the DC area. This one can close.

I know the price of ingredients have gone up. The roti is great. The amount of meat, not. I will pay extra for more meat to get the roti like it was 10 years ago. Thanks for the previous years. Won't be traveling 40 mins one way to get food again.

The food is good but the efficiency is lacking . Placed the order on line , I received a text stating the order was ready when I arrive I was informed it would be an extra 10 mins. I ended up waiting almost 30 mins more.

The phone apparently doesnt work. Uber nor grubhub showed any food available for purchase. Cashier was non chalant about the info about the phone not working. Ive been eating here a long time but no more.

This place is good if you like Trini style west Indian food. They give a lot of food. Just make sure you ask for extra jerk gravy on the rice. I just wish they had a comfortable seating area to sit down and enjoy your food.

Sign posted no aloo pie, no doubles, no pholourie, go up the the counter and no potatoes for chicken roti. Roti was cold and seeping through the dough like it was sitting there for a while. Got the curry goat dinner, ofcourse no curry potatoes, so I get the plantain side instead, plantains are hard like it was sitting there for a while. Curry goat like it was reheated too many times. Sorrel drink was good. Disappointment. Seek out another trini spot, this one isn't it.

Wow, this place has gone seriously downhill. I have purchased from them for more than 15 years but this is definitely my last. I bought 2 beef and 1 goat Roti. They wee tasteless, dry and smelled as if they were spoiling. The curry was brown in color!! These people have lost it and the young ladies behind the county were rude and discourteous.

Never again will I purchase anything else from this place order two veggie roti and they were sour.

Their food is amazing, but their service is just slacking I’ve been coming here as a child with my dad to get the goat curry dinner, amazing dish. But a few times over years you can expect them to once and a while forget about your order or just completely cancel your online order when you arrive to pick it up. You can just tell that they need better management. They don’t even pick up the phone anymore for the last 4 years.

Not sure why caribbean restaurants in the area are afraid to use salt. Caribbean Palace was the first place I had Trini food 5 years ago and was so disappointed. I decided to give them another try and the food was exactly the same. Tasteless. If you go to Trinidad, you’ll taste real Trini food. It has flavour and sauce that leave you wanting more. We have phrases in Tdad… the food lash so hard, it bruise! and make yuh lick d plate!! CP’s roti had no channa, very little potato and the smallest pieces of chicken. The doubles literally has no taste. I’d rather buy a ticket to tdad and get proper food than ever go there again.

I came here with a craving for roti. I had gotten good here before but today was not it. was quite disappointed with quality of the food today. I had the chicken roti and my aunty got the veggi plate. I could tell the food was reheated, tasteless and dry. The rice was stale and hard. I guess you have to know whens the best time to get fresh food. Overall I give here a second try.

I'm so disappointed. I ordered a good but5 of food...a veggie plate with rice and peas , calaloo, and some curry gravey on the rice ( I know it's am oxymoron to a veggie plate with chicken gravey shut up). I got and order of channel doubles, and a side of Mac n cheese and some coco bread . I ate the Mac and cheese first and it was pretty good..I saved the rest of the food for later. When I ate the bread it tasted freezer burnt, the rice and peas with the gravey tasted like it had been scraped from the bottom of a burnt pot....and I was so turned off I couldn't enjoy the calaloo. I'm so bummed I was excited to eat and it was a disaster.

I have ordered from this restaurant for 15 years. Over the years the food has been great good and poor. Service has always been okay or poor. However this weekend I ordered quite a bit of food for a family celebration. While preparing to eat a doubles I found a dead maggot in my tambrand sauce. Had to completely throw everything away $130 down the drain. Very disappointing to know that if there are maggots in or around the food they won’t just throw it away. That should never happen. It’s not wasting if it would get someone sick.

I had a serious craving for doubles and this is the only place that came up around the area. Not in the best area since it’s very congested with traffic, but the food is authentic for sure. The doubles were super tasty and the side sauce of tamarind really added to it. I will definitely be coming back suggest anyone who wants to try trini food to come here and try it.

This place has stood the test of time. I lived in Maryland in the 90th. Love this place . Anytime I am in the area got to get a Roti firm there.

I decided to fulfill my taste for some delicious West Indian food, mainly some doubles, pholourie, and currie shrimp. Although, I do not like or care for driving in Langley Park, I went ahead. The doubles and pholourie was absolutely perfect. The currie shrimp were over cooked and not devined, which was a turnoff. The taste was really good. I'll definitely go there again, however no shrimp, just doubles and pholourie, for sure👍🏽😋

Only place I know where I can buy buss up & its delicious. Roti 100% as well… Can’t go wrong.

The only Trinidadian spot I frequently visit, the food is usually good but I think different staff members prepare the food from day to day so the consistency is off but not usually a problem for me. I would recommend the chicken roti and also the doubles also the mauby drink is always delicious.

My absolute favorite place in MD to buy roti, doubles, and aloo pie! As a second generation Trini ...i get to taste the flavors of home without having to make the trip. Food is quick and delicious every time.

The food is spot on its truly West Indian food and if you haven't tried west indian food try it.

Good carribean food. The drive is sometimes an issue coming from Severn. Double check order to make sure all your items are there.

It is a takeout restaurant. Food was excellent. We ordered chicken, beef and goat roti. Only complaint was to much bone in goat roti.

I love the food from Caribbean Palace. They make the best Rotti in the area. My visit on this day was disappointing because they opened 15 minutes late and would not answer the phone to take my order when I had been waiting and watching from my car. There were 2 men waiting, and when they opened at least 3 others walked into the store making it too crowded for these times. I left very disappointed with no awesome Rotti.

My friends and I drove there from Baltimore. It was worth the drive. It was my first time there and I enjoyed the goat and chicken roti and the curry chicken.

Their food is delicious and the wait is not long at all. I will visit every chance I get. The quality is amazing.

The ONLY downside is no real dinning area. So if your coming from far, make sure you taking it out. Else your gonna eat it in Starbucks 😂. But really, this is the BEST your gonna get in the DMV if your outside of NYC. I’m a Queens local and when I’m not going to SANDYS for my curry fix, I’m going here. Now what about that Military Discount?

Carribbean Palace is a hit or miss. The food is not as fresh and consistently tasty as it was 4-5 years ago. In those days you could go in and have a great experience everytime. Now not so much. Recently I ordered food for an office potluck . The ladies who managed my order were so nice on the phone and in person. I wanted very much to have a sense of pride when my diverse group of coworkers sampled staple West Indian food items in my order. Instead I was terribly embarrassed. I had paid nearly $100.00 plus the cost of an Uber for a batch of stale, moldy roti. Needless to say no one had the appetite to try my contribution to the luncheon. Cooking is hard work but we are quickly losing culture and customers with the lack of freshness and quality, mediocre presentation, and lack of consistency and customer service in our local caribbean restaurants. Follow-up: The Catering Department phoned and were fully committed to conducting an investigation to adequately address my concerns and ensure a better experience for all customers going forward.

I love this place. As a West Indian the hunt is always on for a place with some Caribbean cuisine. I love the fact that they offer pholuri, fish roti, and bus up shut. Those are three of my favorite things. I also, love their fish roti. You do have to call in advance to see if they have bus up shut though. I haven't had any bad experiences here forreal and I have been coming here for over ten years. They are pleasant and I am always able to find parking. Prices I would say eh mid-range ish. But you can get some Pholuri for 3 dollars! They do charge a bag fee which is weird to me because they are in Takoma Park MD but bag fees are normally for DC...hmm... But go, try their food! it's good. Only like four chairs to dine in however, FYI.

Good doubles, roti and mauby. I havent tried the rest of the menu yet. Service is prompt and direct. They have a small eat in area for about 3 ppl. They are closed on Mondays.

Needs customer service training, like many other food establishments. Ordered food (oxtail, goat, etc.) and young ladies were yapping to each other and other nearby workers. Take care of your customers first, and cut the chit-chat. Food did not look so fresh, for so early in the day. May return, hoping for better service next time. And put out some fresh food!!
