We were in the area so we stopped in since we have been to their other restaurants. Waitress was nice and that’s about it. The crab stuffed flounder for $26 was fake crab. I realize a $5 crab cake will have imitation crabmeat but a $26 meal? Ridiculous. The shrimp pasta Alfredo was bland. It had no flavor. It wasn’t necessarily bad, but had almost no taste. We should have gone to Captain D’a next door for less than half the price and twice the flavor.

The building is in need of some TLC but the food and the staff are awesome.

Always had good times when going here with family and friends.

We went to eat in here and once we got inside it was on the Chilli side so we decided to get my shrimp to go.. as soon as they the waitresses heard I wasn't eating here they acted all stank like I was a pos felt very unwanted and definitely not welcomed here ... not going back in Starke anyways

Friendly staff, good food that was ready fast, clean environment. My husband ordered a wrong side for me while I was in the restroom and they corrected his error no problem. That was unexpected and very much appreciated.

Our Class of '59 lunch enjoyed, immensely, getting together and Cedar River filled the bill.

The food was pretty good but the waitress that served us was acting strange her eyes were super dilated. And she was very speedy and kept scratching her arms. I think her name was Ashley she was shaking when she handed us our grub. Food was good she just made my friend and I very uncomfortable.

This restaurant is amazing starting with the friendly staff who is quick with the service. Our meal was better than we have had anywhere. And the price!!! I have paid more for breakfast. It’s a gem. My fried scallops were so moist and yummy. Thanks Cedar Rivers, Pennsylvania girl

Positives: Definitely a cute place, food was good ESPECIALLY the hush puppies were delicious. Negatives: My uncle never received the sweet potato he ordered. I had put in a to-go order to bring home with me after lunch, and when all the bills were paid and my family were all walking out the door, I got stuck behind (out of towner with no directions!) because my to-go order never came. I told my server my to-go order never arrived and she said they didn't start cooking it yet and it would only be done after half a room filled with people (like 20ish people). I said, "but my party is leaving" and she goes "well I don't know what you want me to do about it". I was very dissapointed that I left her a $10 tip on a $45 bill to be spoken to like dirt. I asked her if I could have a refund for the to-go order and she didn't give me any receipt for it. I asked her if she could give me one and she refused to answer the question until I just gave up and left.

For the fresh seafood market this restaurant is a good place to get it.,service,food and a smile.

Had the Crab stuffed flounder. The stuffing had no crab only imitation crab and other unidentifiable ingredients. Mushrooms too. Yuck! The waitress had no clue what was in it. Very unknowlegeable of the menu. She mentioned she cooks too but does not know what ingredients are or what is good to eat there. They were out of several items and sides. Green beans were cooked to mush and had a strange taste. Dont eat here. You will be sorry you spent the money!

Excellent customer service. Dont get anything grilled or blackened. Its not true blackened or grilled due to people with seafood allergies cant get their hamburger cooked on same surface....go figure. I made that mistake but they didnt hesitate to replace it. But everything else is stellar. Fried food is crisp, hot and not greasy. Wait staff is nice and helpful. Same as it was when I ate their 20 years ago for the first time. Clean too.

Ordered white cod it was reg snowfish. Was never asked for drink reorder. Mashed potatoes were cold and mac&cheese was horrible. Only thing we ordered that was decent was fried oysters.

We came here after a long day of suckage and the service immediately was AMAZING. Staff was absolutely incredible, and treated us with sheer kindness. The food is amazing as well, and I absoluty recommend coming here even if you're just passing through. 100/10 <3

The service was slow, very slow. They had a large party with only two waitresses for the whole restaurant. When someone suggested they should hire more help, one of the waitresses said no, she wanted more money. When you plan for bad service, no bueno. The spicy clam chowder wasn't that good but the shrimp was very good. My wife said the garlic mashed potatoes was very good and the fried okra was fine. In fact, all the food was good or better but the chowder. Bad service with good food. Weird but true.

This food was awesome as usual. Ms. Suzzette was wonderful. She was very kind and showed us a lot of love. And she always came to check upon us to make sure everything was ok. We definitely be back. Thank you Ms. Suzzette. I'm sorry if i misspelled your name.

I had shrimp lunch special, hubby had shrimp flounder combo lunch. Food was hot and delicious, including coleslaw and crinkle cut fries. Friendly service, reasonably priced. Highly recommended!! Update 12-29-2023 Stopped by again for lunch. Delicious again with fast friendly service 😋

My wife had the fried shrimp and I had the peel and eat shrimp (available hot or cold). Mine was flavored with just the right amount of Old Bay seasoning. Paula our waitstaff person was very attentive and stopped by two or three times during our meal. Down to earth seafood style atmosphere. Good food along with good service is a winning combination. We visit here once a year traveling through Starke and always stop at Cedar River.

The waitress was very professional. The atmosphere was very smoothing. We enjoyed the food.

After a long road trip, we found this cute restaurant to feed our hungry bellies. We were pleasantly surprised. I had blackened scallops. My husband had blackened shrimp. Food was absolutely delicious. What made it over the top was the amazing staff. We will be back on our next road trip. Thank you, Lauren & Todd Buchman

Service was great! Hush puppies great! Florida style crab cakes had 0 flavor.Grits-bland/plain greens-same probably canned. Deviled crab stuffed snapper- hmm ok then. Stuffing was awful. Fish taste frozen. Shrimp under cooked.sweet potatoes pretty good. Okra was pretty good.. inside of the building needs a little updated.

We always stop at One of the Cedar River locations when traveling to Gainesville FL, the one in Starke FL was my Dad’s favorite but little outta the way this trip. Outstanding quality food at a nominal price.

Food was really good and big portions the service left some to be desired with only one glass of tea but overall a good experience.

Almost everything on the menu is fried. Tasted like frozen food fried to disguise the lack of freshness. I won't be back.

Love this place but this trip the broiled fish had so much red seasoning on it you couldn't even see the fish much less taste it. Only could taste the seasoning. Sent back for the fried fish.

We love Cedar River in Starke. The staff are always so friendly and the food is almost always delicious. We went in kinda late so maybe the cook was tired. Our waitress Ashlynn was so nice with a great personality. Thanks

Normally, the service is good, however, this wasn't the case with this visit. We didn't get the wonderful service as the other group that was there. We weren't told what specials were. Our food was cold. We just didn't have a good experience. I will continue to come there with just my husband but with a large party, we will go somewhere else.

I am so glad I stopped here for lunch on a very long drive back home. Walking in, the restaurant smelled amazing. Our waitress (name forgotten, but a very friendly woman with gorgeous black hair in a cute updo, and very sweet). She made excellent recommendations and I ended up getting the daily special and was not disappointed. The only thing stopping me from licking my plate like an animal was the parade of cute firemen and locals, and not wanting to tarnish the reputation of the establishment. My fish and shrimp were cooked perfectly, and my sides (fried okra, hush puppies, and collard greens) took me back to my childhood. Excellent food. Excellent service. Next time I travel I'm making this my go-to stop.

Great value for the money. The food was very tasty. I am a hush puppy snob, and they did not disappoint! The fried banana peppers appetizer was amazing! The only possible concern was our server was VERY busy. She was nice and attentive, but stretched thin. In her defense they did get very busy not long after we got there. Definitely a place we will go back.

The food was at best ok and the restaurant needs to be updated but server she made the difference I probably want eat there again bc being in Florida you would want to have fresh and great seafood

Took about a dozen people out to late lunch for Thier birthdays the other day made reservations in case they were busy & so to give them a heads up.. everything was wonderful from the atmosphere the staff and the food... always an awesome place to go out to eat... everyone in our group eats seafood except myself and one of my son's ( we're allergic to most seafood) but they have a wonderful selection for people like us to choose from..all lived Thier meals ..I think. Between appetizers to our meals between everyone we probably had a little of everything on the menu.. everything was cooked to perfection 👍👍😊we all had a wonderful time 🥰 affordable menu and have something for everyone here..if you haven't tried this place yet I 💯 recommend it to everyone A+ place all the way around 🥰

This was the best food experience we’ve enjoyed in a long time. The service was wonderful! Colton made our meal absolutely perfect. All of our food was delicious! I can’t wait to go back!

The clam chowder was good but could have been heated more.

Apparently they had a large group in the back area and not enough staff to take care of the rest of the customer's that were there, most of the tables still had dirty plates from the last coustomer, when our food finely arrived it was warm not hot, had no forks or knifes to us , we had to ask 2 different people and finely got some, and that was last time we were checked on until they brought the bill to us, it is the little things that will hurt your business the most, I am sure the other customer's that were there felt that they too were being ignored too.

Had some takeout one time I finally went in gave it a chance sat down I've been back two more times since then and I'll continue to go back I like people are like the prices and I like the food

I got the Catfish filet, with garlic mashed potatoes and baked beans (also comes with hush puppies). The catfish had literally NO FLAVOR..... tasted like a hunk of fried nothingness.. unbelievable. The mashed potatoes were also unseasoned, and the garlic in them was faint.. hush puppies and baked beans were good tho! And the waitresses were polite.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. This place used to be amazing. Now it's tiny portions, slow service, and a diminished menu. The fried items aren't separated at all so fried seafood tastes like everything cooked in the fryers.

Popular spot in Starke for some home cooking seafood. The food was decent. Service was fair little slow but friendly. Was some what disappointed with had to ask for napkins and silverware and even then never got a fork. Not a very clean restaurant or restrooms need more attention to details.

The worst Cedar River Seafood I've ate at, not clean food was not hot, and under cooked. Went to the one in Keystone and man oh man it was perfect, clean, hot food and cooked right. Thank you Adam Bell for doing a awesome job we wish you all the best.
