Powell's Dairy Freeze is ALWAYS on point. Haven't had a PDF Milk Shake in quite some time, so my wife and I decided to stop. The curbside service is great and everyone is always friendly. Our Milk Shakes were fantastic, with delicious Ice Cream that was do smooth and tasty. Made us wanna go back soon for s Frozen Desert from Powell's!!

My wife and I walked over from the hotel next door to get a banana split. Although the staff was very young and seemed a little disorganized, the banana split we were served was a good or better than any we had ever gotten anyplace else. It was the largest size offered and was actually served in a tall milkshake cup. However, everything that makes for a great banana split was in there. I would definitely stop there again.

This place still rocks Great cheese burgers and a verity of milk shakes. Mommy good They deliver and take orders from your car. Or they have picnic tables that you can sit at outside.

They get busy and hustle to keep up curbside service. And do a great job!! Good value for your dollar.

I ordered onion rings and fried okra and my friend ordered the bacon cheeseburger and a side of fried mushrooms it was on time i tell ya if I'm around that area again i will be back to order more ...

We found this little gem a couple of years ago and I love it!! ❤️ Prices are amazing!! Food is amazing and so is the service if they aren't super busy they will come out to your car!!

The ice cream is very good and the service is good but when you have to wait a 1/2 an hour for an ice cream cone it gets a little frustrating this has happened more than once

Powells is the most AMAZING ice cream shop I have ever been to. The food was great and the customer service was EVEN BETTER. I came by to get a banana split because I heard they were really good! The girl that was serving me was the nicest girl I have ever met. I think her name was Savannah. The banana split exceeded my expectations by a long shot I would give it a 9/10 everything was fresh and it looked like it came out of a magazine! Savannah was very nice and respectful and got my order to me in a very timely manner and my overall experience here was great!!

Nastiest milkshake I ever had. Five cars, one before us and three after, and two walk ups. 4 cars and both walk up groups were served before us (we were the second order of the 7). We ordered two butterfinger shakes - out of butterfingers! Oh wow there’s a Win Dixie down the road - go buy some! Waited 35 min, went to ask and were handed our replacement milkshakes - completely melted! Seriously could pour it out like milk! One girl there working in her pajamas, a teen guy had no clue what he was doing. Will not be coming back and ensuring to tell our community about it.

Best damn milkshake I ever had get the mocha white chocolate

I waited 30 min on an ice cream cone and chili cheese fries for my child. The girl came back out to the car after we had waited 20 min to ask what we ordered…. Come home to find there’s no cheese on his fries. Very poor service. I don’t mind waiting when you actually get what you ordered.

They never get me the right order always messing up the food and the food is very very cold and was told they cannot fix my order It’s out of their hands And Rude about it don’t expect your food to be right just horrible over all

Shakes were delicious and large portions. Ordering was a little confusing, with a lot of people standing around, didn’t know that we were paying till the end, server only brought one spoon with two milkshakes.

This place is amazing, the food is great, the staff is nice and the ice cream taste and texture is unbelievably delicious. I would recommend stopping by after a hard day of work or passing though town.

This place could literally make more money than any restaurant in town. Awesome place and normally great staff just very young. The problem with this place whoever owns it does not care that is not run properly. Powell's has very poor staff because they don't know what they're doing and they are children with no leadership. It's like the people that own it don't want to make money they just want to barely get by you put one person in this building with leadership qualities and an understanding on how to make money and understands customer service this building will be the best building in town and have the best food I do not understand why there is such poor effort in making this building and what it should. Powell's dairy freeze is a staple of starke Florida it's been around for years please do what y'all do best and shine

The waitress seemed high, it took 30 minutes to get our food and then the food was cold and horrible. She brought us the wrong milk shakes and had to remake them. I sure do miss the old Powell's.

The prices are hard to beat! $5 for this strawberry shortcake! This is a must stop for good soft serve.

Called in an order had lady read it back to me still forgot my daughter's burger and waited close to an hour on fries and the milk shake turned into a drink sorry service ! I'm gonna call the owner this is my second time and I took some friends there hoping that we would get better service and his time ......but no disappointment

This place has really went down it use to be really good but it’s a bunch of kids working in there and they will have you waiting in the car to get your order but will never come to you i watch a african american women pull up wait to get her order taken more cars pulled in they went and took there order and never made it to the lady’s car she backed out and left my daughter is 12 she even had a problem with staff and how her and her dad was treated up there

The past few times our order has been wrong. Not very happy. Last time it was wrong and cold. This time it's wrong. Lost a long time customer. We won't be going back.

if I could give this place less than one star, I would. we pulled up, and a young lady came out immediately with a horrible attitude. She was neither friendly nor helpful... Just very obviously upset to have to do her job, & quite snippy with my family and me. The burgers were so plain & flavorless, and the french fries were undercooked & mushy. The prices are astronomical for the amount of food you actually get, especially the french fries. and they don’t tell you that drinks don’t come with the meals, and are crazy expensive by themselves. we assumed they came w the meals, and ordered milkshakes as well. had the waitress told us, we’d have not gotten the drinks. The Milkshakes were pretty good, though. Nothing to write home about, but they were better than the rest of the food. For 3 adults & a child, we paid between $50-60 for food that wasn’t even a fraction of the quality of a mcdonald’s $3 cheeseburger & small fry deal. save yourself the trip & just go to mcdonald’s. something needs to be done about that employee. I saw her taking orders at other cars as well, with the same atrocious customer service skills. then she’d walk back into the building & we could all see her just standing around looking bored while we waited ages.

Powell's Dairy Freeze in Starke is an AWESOME place to splurge on banana splits and Super-Burger topped with fried mushrooms. The curbside service is prompt and friendly (if you eat in your vehicle). I rather prefer to kick back and relax on their clean and well-maintained outdoor picnic tables with open pavilion.

Reminded of my younger days when going to nasty Courtney 's on Saturday night for a ice cream cone was the place to be! Small town drive in complete with car hops and old time burgers. I'm ready to go back now yee haa!!!!

Certified hood classic. Classic all American fast food with walk up services and out door seating. All the food options are delicious, definitely the fried mushrooms and steak sandwiches. Highly recommend stopping by if you are traveling through Starke.

Free being yelled at for parking on the side where a hardly visible hand written sign say “employee parking” was pointed out. I waited over 15 mins no one acknowledge me I ask to order, was basically dismissed , only reason I stayed was because I had promise my kids ice cream. Finally ordered and got my desserts , they were melty and not very good. Bugs everywhere fort like I was being attacked. Most disgusting bathrooms. We will never be back!

No chocolate per the server. We tried parking in the side area and one of the workers waved us around to the front. She was very rude and frustrated with us trying to park in a parking spot?? We will not be back.

Stayed in town for a week. Tried to get ice cream the last 3 days, but couldn’t because of a “broken hose”. Girl who works there didn’t recognize me and tried to make it sound like it had “just happened” on each day I went. Ice cream store with no ice cream for the last4 days? Yeah, you’ve lost me….won’t try that place again.

Their footlong steak sandwich was delicious, as always. 10/10 on the peanut butter shake. Tastes just like peanut butter Captain Crunch.

I was looking for ice cream and some good food and I pull up and see this one girl, I think she worked there and she was doing inappropriate stuff with the customers. I overheard her name might have been Madeline if I can recall. I’ve seen her get into customer cars too while on the clock. If I could give this place a 0 out of 10 I would.

Always get skipped when getting car delivery. People showing up 20 minutes after me got service before me.

Went to this place years ago. So tried it again today. They have no posted price which is ok, but me and my Co worker sat watched EVERYONE that came in behind us get their food first. By the time we received our food the parking lot was empty. The food was over priced and not worth the price I paid.

This is one of my favorite places and I have been going here for 30 years. You don't even have to get out of your car because they operate like a sonic where they come to your vehicle for your order and bring your food to your vehicle. They do have picnic tables to sit at if you'd prefer. They've lost a lot of business since the new highway was built, completely cutting them off. If you ever travel 301, it's worth taking the left and going through starke just go here. It's a small place next to a dealership and is easily missed.

I don’t generally take the time to leave negative reviews but I would not want anyone to waste there time or money and get treated like we were. 1. When we first arrived we were waiting in the car and served at the window. We were told there was no ice cream available. My kids were a little disappointed but it was no big deal, so we proceeded to order. 2. As we were waiting my children started noticing people were receiving ice cream from the window. Of course they wanted some. 3. I got out of the car and asked if we could put in a order for 4 milkshake’s because we where told they didn’t have any. She said yes but it would be a long wait. I asked if she would please put us to the top because we had wanted to order it when we first got there. She said sure. *At this point we had been waiting for 30min on a hamburger and fries. 4. When the waitress brought the food out she said her boss got on to her for putting our milkshakes in front of everyone else's (although we were there before everyone else and wanted to order milkshakes at the start). 5.We ended up waiting a total of 45min to get served. This is usually a special treat for us to stop and get a milkshake when going through Starke. This is somewhere my family has stopped for generations. The last several stops have been getting worse from the cleanliness, quality and service. Also, The bathroom was disgusting and had no soap, or paper towels. We will NEVER be back unless the management changes. I am not sure who manages this place now but they definitely need some management and customer service skills like the people years ago had at this place. It is a shame to see what was once such a great place ran into the ground.

They used to be delicious. I think they switched to some prefab patties and they are disgusting.

Last time I went they had no vanilla ice cream for shakes. The sandwiches are not good. The famous steak is a thawed steak patty and not what I wanted at all. This place is disappointing most of the time.

There was one waitress and one cook. The service was excellent, we received our food quickly, and the food was great! It was a great improvement from our last visit.

The one star is for the lady taking the orders. We waited an hour to get cold fries and some alleged form of what looked like a hamburger, we didnt even come close to finishing any of it . In years past I remember real beef and hot food. This place was awful.

The Beloved Spouse™ and I were passing through Starke on our way to Tampa and happened onto Powell’s. It’s rare to find an old-style soft-serve ice cream stand in Maryland, so I was all over it. The ice cream was excellent, as were my hot dogs and onion rings. The service was friendly and courteous, and I got a chance to talk to a fascinating gentleman while waiting. A delightful tangent to our holiday vacation. If we get back to Starke, we’ll stop here again.

This place has definitely changed dramatically in the past few months. They were always busy but you could count on them having some good food. Not sure what to think of it now.

Cheeseburger wasn't good at all. Not worth their price or any asking price. Do not recommend. Mcdonalds burgers are much better.

Stood in line for 30 minutes and they took orders from folks that came after me. I waited an hour and a half and couldn’t even get my drinks, but the lady gave everyone else that came after me their food and drink. I am here visiting from Oklahoma and was told it’s a good and fast place to eat. Well I will definitely not be coming back here.

Waited over 20 minutes for two burgers that both came out cold and made incorrectly. Corn nuggets and mushrooms were warm but for that length of a wait they should have been HOT. Won't go back.

There were two young ladies working tonight when we arrived. We ordered at the window then sat in our truck to wait for our food. The girl who took our order was friendly & efficient. (she also brought our food to us). It came out quickly, & was super yummy & hot! These girls were really working hard...they were quite busy with lots of people with kids ordering ice cream as well. Very, very impressed with these young ladies!

Powell's is amazing! I've never had a bad experience with food or service. They quickly acknowledge you rather you decide to eat in your car or their covered picnic area. You get fast food with home made taste!

Always Excellent service! 20+ yrs we've never tried their food because we're too busy filling up on their ice cream! Their tiny bathroom in the back is a disgusting unlit nightmare! Other than that, love this place. Pls take care of ur potty!

Love their tasty shakes. Just look out for the big yellow posts around the sign if you're backing up from one of the front parking spots. Allot of people have backed into those things over the years.

Monday night, no one ahead of me, alone in the lot, in my truck, waited 5 min for anyone to come outside after 2 other cars pulled up, THEY get served and the brunette carhop doesnt even look at me. Nope. Done. Thats how yall do? Then we'll do without.

Food was great, took a little longer than normal, but with it .they need more people working.they had a cook,and a server. They had two servers but one kept busy with an employee running in and out to her vehicle so it left one server to work . Someone needs to keep an eye on them to keep them focused...Other than that it was a ok experience..

I've been on 'hold' (basically i got told to hold on for a sec and they left the phone off the hook' with them for almost 20 minutes now trying to order a to go order like I have before. The whole time I'm listening to them curse each other out and then get hung up on.

Little bit disappointed. Just wanted some ice cream. There is not a menu anywhere to look at, would be nice to see what items are available and what the prices are. Service is a bit rushed and not even friendly. Also the restaurant need some updating, the tables and the building needs some attention.

Very good food and on most days, great service. BUT... There are times when the waiter/waitress doesn't get to my order for 15-20 minutes. That's the only bad thing I've ever experienced.

Has the best selection of milkshake you can think of that are still old-fashioned not like the new ones which are good but to me just too much is in them enjoy the natural Taste of one. My two favorites is butterscotch and coffee flavored
