I have had burgers from all over the country. I am by know means an expert, but the Cajun Cowboy Burger is hands down on my list of top three burgers I have ever had. Though the whole burger was amazing, the bacon was out of this world. I also had the shotgun shrimp for an appetizer, I was not disappointed. I can see why it is a local favorite. The service was fast and very polite.

My daughter Love's their Gator tail we usually come here before we go see a movie at the Florida twin theater and the food is always good

We stopped by the Downtown Grill after a long day at Silver Springs St Park. It was a slow time of the day (5 pm) but three staff were ready to jump in and answer questions and take our orders. The food was prepared and delivered, and we were surprised by the portion sizes. My wife and I both ordered a specialty burger, and they were so large, we split one and took the other home. Will definitely return!

Food was great and this time there was plenty. There were a great choice to pick from.

Got a take out order and the Cajun pasta that I had and the shotgun shrimp my wife had were very good. Everything was flavored well and cooked perfectly.

We were on our way back to Jacksonville after a morning at the Waldo Flea Market when we decided to give this place a try. That was a great decision because this place was so good! Have to admit our expectations were not very high but we were pleasantly surprised. Our servers were so friendly and quick to bring our drinks and food. My chicken salad croissant was very tasty and obviously house-made. Fries were crispy and fresh although I had to add a little salt. I posted 2 pics so you could see how much was on the plate and a pic of a bite so you could see the chicken salad. My husband loved his Rueben and onion rings, sorry there’s no picture. Both sandwiches, including the sides plus soft drinks were less than $30. We are definitely going back so we can try the shrimp!

I’ve eaten here a little over a year ago and the food was amazing, but this time was very disappointing. The Reuben had almost no meat or sauerkraut and they served it with the heel of the bread with the outside portion turned inward. I’m assuming they hoped it wouldn’t be noticed. I didn’t even try it because it looked so unappealing. My daughter got the burger and didn’t have much better luck. The tip of the bread was dry and cold and the bottom was a gooey mess. I understand that bread gets moist from the meat but this turned into a taffy like texture. She ate 2 bites and couldn’t finish it was so bad. They onion rings were good and the server was very sweet. They removed the Reuben from the check but still charged full price for the burger even though we told them it was really bad and not edible. Hoping they go back to the way they used to cook

Military friendly! Great bar/grill food cooked exactly as you order it... The staff will make you feel welcome and the atmosphere is comfortable

I tried leaving a review on their Facebook page and someone deleted it. So I decided to leave it here. "Made my boyfriend and I physically ill after eating here for lunch on 2/25. I had to pull over at a gas station and watch my honey vomit on the side of the road. We were supposed to have a nice day out on Hampton Lake. 51 dollars for some chicken tenders and he only ate the gator tail on the appetizer trio because we both started to feel sick." Offputting political signs, less than attentive waitstaff, dirty and dark. Should've listened to my gut feeling. NOT TO MENTION deleting my review on social media. What are you trying to hide? Do yourself a favor. Don't eat here.

Where do I start. After long days at work, my spouse and I came here for dinner. An hour later, my hubs had a coke, I had nothing. I was never brought a drink. It was over 45 minutes before I was even brought a drink menu. The cup the coke was in tasted dirty, like you imagine old storage would smell. While waiting over an hour for literally nothing, we witnessed people being sat at tables that were not cleaned, and saw the cook behind us grab fries with their bare hands and put on plates. The waitress seemed nice, but she walked past me so many times, but couldn't be bothered to bring a drink, or even a menu. That location could be so nice, but whoever owns it clearly doesn't care about what's happening there. We saw two health code violations while waiting for service that didn't come. I would really love it if our neighborhood restaurants could do better for us.

Waited 20mins for a bartender and no Budweiser bottles. Service sucks and dirty! Better off going somewhere else!

Tried Gator bites for the first time and they were excellent. Food was good, service was good. Only negative was my tiramisu it was frozen solid hard to cut with steak knife, it was flavorless due to frozen state, they would have done better to tell me it wasn’t ready to serve. Onion rings are excellent!!!

Best onion rings we’ve had in awhile! Burger was very good, chicken salad was very good. Good service! We will be back!!

The food was OK. Not a highlight. The ambience was old style mixed with new. The operation was probably new, so not everything worked. The other waitress seemed rather unfriendly to us.

The food was delicious, but a wee bit dried out, the service was good, just a tad slow, waiting staff were very nice and respectful, all in all a pleasant experience.

My husband and I stopped for lunch on our way to Jacksonville. From the second we walked in to the time we left the service was amazing. The food matched the service. I wish I could have finished everything on my plate. Highly recommend.

My husband and I went to dinner here with a friend. We arrived early and I'm glad we did. The food took a while to cook after we ordered (we didn't order appitizers) however the food was good. I ordered the chicken tenders buffaloed, loaded baked potatoe and green beans which were surprisingly good. (I'm very picky about my green beans) My husband ordered a steak which he said it was good and tender but could use a little more flavor. Overall it was good experience just a wait for food and I'd advise to arrive early because the people who were going in after us had like a 45 min wait to be seated.

Quaint historical bar and grill

In Starke's downtown historical area, awesome building if they would CLEAN it up. The food was good and a very diverse menu. Full service bar so you can order a wide range of drinks. Friendly staff but not very attentive. Overall a good visit.

Food and service is on point! Tonight I especially enjoyed the cheeseburger soup! Yowsa! The service and servers aim to please! Server/bartenders Erin, Paxston, Maya tonight working hard to make the night special. Kitchen staff Burl, Dee, and Tresson pumping out the food fresh, hot, and plentiful! I'm always a happy customer, and after a bogo wine happy hour, I'm even happier and more satisfied!!! Lovin' me some Grill!

We were told about this place from a friend. It did not disappoint. We had a small wait, nothing major. The food was amazing. I had the basic burger, it says 8 oz but I couldn't even finish a quarter of it. Fed 2 people for under $30. We will be going back. The atmosphere was very laid back, games on the TV, noise wasn't overbearing. Their parking is on the smaller side but there's always street parking, they can't help the size of the lot.

We frequent the Grill often as we live here in town. Friday and Saturdays are usually the busiest as they occasionally have a LIVE band. The food is always great and my kids love their chicken tenders and burgers. *Chicken Tenders tossed in Shotgun sauce with a side salad is a must!*

Cajun burger is amazing! It has onion rings and Cujan sausage on the burger service is great everybody is so nice! Definitely will be back!

Everytime we come in here the food is a hit or miss it depends what you get. I personally love just about everything. My husband and I came in last night we were sat quickly and the lady that sat us got our drinks and then the waitress Mia got our food order. Everything was hot and delicious. I got the appetizer sampler, mozzarella triangles, 6 pc garlic Parmesan wing, and casino fries. My husband got a 12 pc shotgun wing and fries. We spent about $70 total with tip but let me tell you it was worth it. Y’all need to stop in here. This place aswell as Tony and Al’s Italian Deli are the best restaurants in town.

Fantastic experience. The crew is great, especially Dustin and Erin. Dustin really has a talent in the kitchen and Erin is such a great waitress which makes for a pleasant experience! I wish other restaurants would learn from these guys!

How long does it take to make two sandwiches 🥪?a Rueben and Philly when the meat 🍖 was literally lunch meat not even deli slice. 35 mins⏱️and our wait person ghosted 👻 us. Never been here before and probably won’t go back. So disappointed ☹️

I gave the food a 5; I had the chicken, Philly, and My Wife had the burger with onion rings. The chicken had so much flavor. It was ridiculous. The burger was cooked to perfection with lots of deliciousness. I gave the service a 5; very respectful, they do not bother you, they do you watch your table to make sure your drinks are filled, and they’re very pleasant. I gave the atmosphere a 5; there was enough light in the restaurant, but not too bright, the ambience noise is very low in the background, but enough to keep it going, there are families around, just having conversations with one another they can actually hear each other. Overall, this place was great. Their onion rings was amazing with their homemade batter, military, which I was very impressed with, their first drinks are free. They really respect the military! If you have not been here and you’re in this wake of travel, stop by.

Steak tips are always on point as are the chicken Tendies. Med Rare is a must. Waits staff is always friendly and courteous.

If I had not been really hungry I would have left. Steak was too thin overcooked and no flavor. Not worth the money that was paid for it. When I let the server know she just apologized nothing else came of it.

This place was great. Good food ( I recommend the cowboy burger and onion rings with extra shotgun sauce for dipping the onion rings. Pleasant service, food for the kids (they recommend the chicken tenders or fried shrimp).

Little hole in the wall bar, with super friendly staff, simple menu, and fresh food. The kids loved the real white meat tenders too. Glad we chose to stop here on our long drive home.

Let me start off by saying the place definitely needs a deep clean. The windows behind the booths are nasty..and the carpet in the place stinks! We sat down and ordered our food. The shotgun shrimp is good!! My husband ordered a medium rare ribeye since it was steak night.. and it came out well done..😑 the gator tail I ate was good! When we ordered our drinks they were brought in Togo cups which we didn't ask for .but yet I was charged for my water on my bill!!! I get it. It's to cover the cost of the Togo cup which I DIDN'T ORDER! The service was mediocre and honestly I got tired of hearing the loud mouth cook from behind the drink station with the waitresses.

We have used Chrissy from Downtown Grill for multiple events now as our caterer and they really go above and beyond expectations! They did my bridal shower (70 people), rehearsal dinner (40 people) and wedding (200 people) and they were phenomenal. They know how to handle any size crowd and know exactly what is needed. The food is fresh and delicious and amazing portions. No matter what type of food you want they can do it all because we had all types with the multiple events. They really saved the day for the wedding and came early and helped us set up and clean up and they just work so well together and made my special day perfect! If you are looking for catering for any type of event she will be my go to from now on! You will not be disappointed! All of the guests have made comments on how wonderful the food and service was through it all. I can't thank Chrissy enough for going above and beyond and just anticipating our needs and helping out in so many ways I never imagined. I will never forget the amazing service you provided! You will be seeing us again!

The hotel recommended this gem! We love local pubs in small towns and The Downtown Grill did not disappoint! Fabulous food and service. So glad we stopped.

In town for a football combine and wanted something different for lunch. Great atmosphere in an old downtown building. Ordered a burger that was big and tasted great. Will definitely stop again.

The waitress was very kind and professional. She multitasked very well, running the floor taking orders as well as running the bar, making drinks and serving customers. It was very impressive! Very friendly staff. The facility was clean and the atmosphere was also very friendly. Many options of entertainment throughout the place, as there are television sets displaying a multitude of different shows. It was a very nice place to eat and vibe, and I would certainly recommend this place to others. The *o n l y* thing holding back my 5* food rating was that the chicken my little sister and I both ordered, looked like it had a slice of kraft cheese melted on top of it.. And I reiterate: it only *appeared* to be a slice of sandwich cheese. The chicken was still delicious, and prepared very well. Great place to eat or grab a drink!

Sadly, the hamburger patties used to be bigger "hand pattied" pieces of meat fried up into a burger. Now it looks like they switched to machine stamped star shaped patties like the old Hardee's patties that are thinner with more defined edges. Ive ordered the same meal the past 3 times I've been there to see if the change was a fluke or if it was here to stay and apparently it's here to stay. I think it's a mistake for a restaurant to downsize in quality instead of just raising the price to keep up with the cost of doing business, but new customers will just think the burger is meh and not know that it used to be better and may not come back because of the new lower quality subscription.

We drove from Fruit Cove to get some strawberries. While in Starke, we were looking for a place for lunch. What a pleasant surprise! French dip was great. The staff were absolutely on point and very attentive. Nice place and would recommend.

Found this place on Google while traveling and was well worth the stop. Late afternoon arrival meant we were 1 of 2 tables so we were welcomed and sat immediately . Ordered the daily special - any burger came with a free beer so got their basic burger and a Stella draft for $10. Awesome deal. Special changes daily. Burger was a large patty, cooked as ordered with onion rings and fixings. Excellent She got a salad with blackened chicken, also excellent . Service was friendly, unintrusively attentive and professional . Kind of a local roadhouse style place with some interesting musical memorabilia . A definite recommend - will stop again when possible.

Small little hole in the wall but prices were pretty well for entrees(appetizers were rather expensive). The staff was efficient and friendly. Their French dips are greasy but good! I would also note that it's located right next to the train tracks so it can be noisy at times.

This is a hole-in-the-wall kind of restaurant nestled in the downtown historical district of Starke. Its a wonderful atmosphere, with cool decoration on the walls and a bar theme in the back. The service was excellent as well-our server was nice, attentive, and fast. The food was really good, hot and fresh, and full of flavor. I will note that it was incredibly greasy (it dripped out at every bite), but not the kind of greasy from a fast food place, it was flavorful. I reccomend this cute little place for sure, whether you are a local or passerby through the town.

Place is like a biker bar with food. Alot of "patriot" and "insurrectionest" memorabilia on the walls. VERY DARK IN MORE WAYS THEN ONE.The food was cold when served that should have been hot. There was 2 slices of thin meat and cold melted cheese that looked like a glob. No flavor on a rachel. Italian place across the street is a better choice.

They have the best gator of any place. They will even give you the choice of fried, grilled, or blackened. The steaks are good, the shrimp are delicious, and never overcooked, the pasta dishes are tasty, and the sandwiches are good. They are accommodating to special requests with the food. The portions are plentiful. There's a variety of sides to choose from.

Had some gator tail that was pretty dang good! Also the onion rings are hand breaded and cut in house! Not from frozen in a box. The service was great even though they were busy and we will definitely visit again.

Stopped because their website pictures had several tap beers but when we arrived they only had four basic beers, no IPA's. So we had house wine. Happy hour so the price was good. Decided not to eat after a local told us it could be a wait.

This time was not as good as before. Service was good. Very nice and prompt with everything we needed. Food was good. The French dip was exactly the same thing as the Philly cheese steak except the dip has aujus for dipping. We ordered both and were confused. Fries were not seasoned like I remember them being. Very bland.

Quaint stop that served decent chicken fingers but the club sandwich was less than desirable. In fact my girl didn't even eat it and the waitress said sorry you don't care for it. The cresant was cold and dry and the waitress said oh yea they are unless they are grilled. The lunch meat was dry and cold She ate her onion rings they were good

The people here are nice and the food is good. My only issue is when it's between lunch and dinner the staff disappears leaving us waiting for a refill or our check.

Stopped in on the way home to Tampa from South Carolina, this was the best food on our whole trip, the burgers were great, the fish sandwich was awesome , the tater skins , onion rings, and Jalapeño poppers were also great, and the atmosphere and service were awesome

The Grill is a great place to eat, food and service wonderful. We had catered meal for Christmas Eve, fried Turkey with all trimmings it was tremendous.
