I had a great experience at sonny’s for lunch! My Waitress Leah was very pleasant and sweet!

Our order was filled just as we ordered. Everything was fresh, our sliced pork Big Deals were really good (not much fat on the meat) and the house dry rub ribs surprisingly had a good amount of meat on them.

We are never disappointed with this Sonny's. The footld is fresh and the service is fast! Our server, Emerald was super attentive and sweet

While visiting the VA in Gainesville we enjoy Sonny's BBQ. They have the Original Sonny's and another nearby. We get the specials Monday through Thursday. My favorite is Sonny's on Atlantic Blvd. Jacksonville Florida. They have the best Smoker chef. They fix it exactly how I want it no problem. Be sure to ask for Donna. She's the best waitress.

We have been to this Sonny's several times and have always had a great experience. The staff are on the spot and quick, the atmosphere is very kid friendly, and of course the BBQ and fixin's are super. The facilities are clean and well maintained, inside and out. If I am in Starke at meal time (or even close) this is where I will be eating (along sit many of the local crowd).

Great, dependable Sonny’s. Lots of parking was available and the service was quick, They split the check for our party without it being a hassle. The sliced pork is our go-to and it doesn’t disappoint!

Order dinner 30 minutes before. My lunch break at work came to pick up and they never even made it.! What have gave any stars if I didn't have to

We went in for lunch after church and even though they were busy the waitress was very attentive. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed being there.

Food was very nice. Wait staff very nice. This could have been a five but I had three elderly people,2 over ninety and one 84, and we waited with no one else waiting while 3 young ladies discussed what I surmised as their stations for the dinner service. THE CUSTOMER ALWAYS SHOULD COME FIRST.

The corn nuggets that we always enjoy came without the usual powdered sugar. When we inquired, the server acted like it is never done, but then admitted they were out. Not sure which is the truth.

I ordered over the phone NO SALT FRIES, in hopes they'd be hot .I also ordered beans and a side salad. I live less than 6 minutes from this location. FRIES NOT HOT& SO DRY I ALMOST CHOKED. DISCOLORED TOO. AND OH MY GOD!!! WHAT THE HECK WAS IN MY BEANS* PUKE WORTHY!! I HOPE THIS LETS ME ADD PICS!!

There was a time when the Sonny's in Starke was the best Sonny's around. The food was cooked on site, salad was always fresh and awesome, sweet tea was on point. Then just like with any great business new ownership destroys it. The food may or may not be hot. Pickup order takes roughly 45 mins to get even though they say 10-15. Most of the time your order is wrong even though you watch them write down what you say. The service is terrible. I would suggest going to subway next door than waste money here.

The ribs and service were both phenomenal! Will definitely be back when we're in town. (We will be in town from time-to-time this year)

I usually don’t like franchise restaurants. They tend to be mediocre, but in this case the food was just delicious. We split a brisket sandwich. Meat was soft and tasty and their sauce was just what we like. And, the sodas are huge. Server was very nice and efficient. Place was a little cooler than we like and the country music, which we love, was played a bit too loudly for our tastes. Other than that this place was spotless and decorated very nicely.

Food was great. Curbside pickup was too long of a wait after informing them we were there, and we were a couple minutes late. Also, no napkins. Eating BBQ without napkins is a disaster waiting to happen.

I walked in and walked right out. No customer service, and the hostesses, said her name was sky. She was one of the worst hostess I’ve met in my life. No customer service. Very rude. Glad I spent my money somewhere else. First time in there and will never go back to that location

Stopped in for dinner, was a bit busy but was seated immediately. Very friendly staff and helpful. The food was really good. Started with wings and salad, they were very flavorful. Next for our meal we had Pork 3 Ways and my preferred the Sonny's Sampler. Great meal and they even serve cocktails and do E-Mail Coupons now.

Food was top tier. I got takeout last night and the server Leah Kersey was very nice and upbeat, she looks like she was happy to be there. I loved her attitude and how fast she got my food and even engaged with me while waiting for my food. The atmosphere is just lovely and amazing! 10/10

I had the lean brisket BBQ sandwich. I was disappointed when I opened the sandwich to find 2 lean slices of brisket and 2 fatty slices of brisket. I was too tired to send it back. The fries were ok.

The renovations are nice, they have a bar now. But the salad bar is gone, might not come back even after covid Did some more remodeling, very nice inside. Good as always. Friendly and helpful staff Sonny's was very good today.

Walked in and was greeted immediately. Ladies in front were very sweet and got us seated right away. Environment was clean. Food was hot and fresh and our server , Mrs. Olyvia, was sweet, attentive and just all around wonderful. Stopped by on the way through town and would definitely do again!

Great food & service. Our server Justine smith was very pleasant and She made sure all our needs were met. She introduced herself, and took our order in a timely manner. She did an excellent job as our server. She was very efficient, and kept a smile on her face. The pulled pork was cooked perfectly, food came out hot and cooked to perfection. We paid $50 for a brisket that was as hard as a rock, French fries and garlic bread that were cold, and the pulled pork was hard and dry. I can go to IHOP and spend $30 and get three times as much food. And I don't have to worry about it being cold, dry or hard. It's perfect Everytime. (And we go there quite a bit) I use to love eating at Sonny's..... My mom and aunt even worked there for years. I guess when they upgraded their look, they downgraded their cook. I give them triple thumbs down..... Would not recommend.

The food was bland this time. I've always been a sonny's fan and the Starke location is my second favorite location in Florida, I had to knock it off my fav list when our waitress was forgetful, the food had no flavor, and most of it wasn't even edible per its texture 😭 but I can say everything was cleanly, the restrooms are well kept at this location 😀

I just removed an earlier 1 star review because it seems they are doing things right now. I tried to order brisket but they informed me it had not smoked long enough yet, which is exactly what they should do until the brisket is properly tender. I actually commend them for not having what I wanted when I wanted it. I ordered pork instead and it was great. I consider this a positive brisket experience, and the next time I get brisket from there and it is good, I will remove this review and possibly give 5 stars.

Very busy place hard to get a seat but I guess that good I did enjoy my meal

I have been an almost weekly customer of Sonnys in Starke for most of 50 years and I would like to say that in the hands of the Reddish's ownership and management it was amazingly awesome. But since the corporate office took over it has been an awful experience more about the remodel and atmosphere and less about the quality of the food, everytime I visit which is now only three times a year and each time it is more disappointing not to mention having to practically beg for the Sonnys signature mild sauce that sets them apart from every other run of the mill BBQ restaurant that serves sugary sweet sauce. It was not busy on a Tuesday afternoon but the service was a little slow and the food was scarce. I ordered the Big Deal which should have been called the Kid's Meal, the waitress brought a very thin layer of sliced pork on s a small, hard and stale bun and served with about eight luke warm fries. Each time i go there it is disappointing and swear never to return, I try again and to no avail it happens again.

Terrible experience!!! We waited an hour for our food while four other table around us (which came in after us) got their food, ate , and left. We asked our waitress about our food and she informed us that a cheeseburger (well done) takes a long time to cook. I ordered the cheeseburger and my husband ordered a brisket sandwich (which was full of fat). We are from IL but like to eat at a Sonny’s BBQ when in Florida. My husband used to work for the smoker/pit Sonny’s used to use. We are not the type to complain, but when the waitress just keeps arguing with you about the time in cooking a cheeseburger I thought it was only fair to let people passing through know about this. The two guys at the table across from us even was wondering about where our food was.
