This is really a nice place to go and have a great time

The true heart and soul of punta gorda. Locals love it vacationers love it our seasonal folk love it. A must on your first visit to our little city.

Always have a pleasant experience here. Food is always fantastic service.Today was terrible. Waited 10 minutes to place an order. Nobody showed up, walked around to the bar on the backside. The lady said I'll be with you in a few minutes. Five minutes later, I saw her serving drinks to people that just sat down and still hadn't come over to me. Then, finally, another waitress showed up. I told her I had been waiting almost 15 minutes. She didn't say anything but had a little smile on her face and took my order. I've never had a problem here, so I'll consider this a one off it.Certainly, won't stop me from going back.

Absolutely the best Irish Pub on this side of 'the Pond' and gives you that Dublin feel. No distracting TV's , just the sounds of talking, music and laughter. The atmosphere, the food, the staff and entertainment are top notch !

No servers and people smoke at the tables. Food and drinks are good. Not the cleanest place though.

Went to the Celtic Ray to celebrate my son’s birthday. We absolutely loved it!! I love the way it looks inside and everyone is so nice! The food was terrific!!! We had the fish and chips. It was the best I’ve ever had! My son had the Guinness Stew that he loved! We had the bread pudding and it was so lovely, just like a warm hug. The Dublin Tart was awesome too. We will return soon!!!

This is like a second home to those who love the pub scene. I have lived in Florida in 4 years and this is the only place for good drinks and great food. And the servers and bartenders are like family. 10/10 ask for the Reuben toasty, Izzy makes the best London mules drinks. Krista makes the best margaritas.

Izzy is the best bartender ever! He made the world’s best mule I have ever had. He is pleasant and his personality was off the charts. 10/10 will be back for these mules and a good laugh !!!!!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍

Breton Chicken, fish and chips, and any of the desserts, our Primo. If you drink, Guinness, you won’t find it. Any place sells in Florida, as good as the port here seriously. Five people that have been all over the place including me from the keys of the Tallahassee. And this is the best. Just do it.

I like the Celtic ray but the service I had from Ryan the Bartender was straight up deplorable. I pay 12 bucks for an Irish coffee I expect the quality to be there. What he gave me fell way short of anything realistic. Watered down coffee with cream that left no taste. He even acknowledged how bad it was before handing it to me. Do better Ryan.

There’s truly no words to describe the level of customer service this place has, you will feel right at home as a new patron or a returning customer. The food is just as wonderful, fresh hot and well seasoned. This has become a go to date spot for my boyfriend and I now thank you for the memorable first time 💛

Huge place outside and little less inside but well decorated. Food and service top notch. Order from the bar, grab a table and the food arrives. Authentic Irish cuisine and delicious. Great place to hang out!

No place is better than the Ray. If you are anywhere nearby make a point of checking it out. Make sure to tell them "you know Kevin"

We were in a group of 7. We placed our order with the bartender who was great. When we received our food, my husband's was wrong. He has celiac and has a strict diet. I told the young man that he has celiac and that he has to be sure the food was cooked in the dedicated deep fryer and the chicken has to be the blackened chicken not the breaded and deep fried. The server got a little testy with me which I did not appreciate. Sure enough, my husband started feeling ill about 2 hours later and is still nauseous and sick to his stomach today. I am thinking the server didn't care and the fries were not fried in the designated deep fryer that I was told they had for people that have a gluten issue. So obviously, we were very disappointed.

The outside Bartender I think his name is Alex. ( My apologies if I'm wrong). He was an outstanding delight and knew his stuff. ‼️. We will be back because of him.

Nice place to sip and talk, eat fish, no TV, no juke box, meet someone new and find out you belonged to the same parish on the south side of of Chicago, only 20 years apart. Nice place to sit back and let the world go by

This place is awesome!!! Staff is like family!! Everything (and I mean everything!) Is made from scratch and sooooo good! Bring your appetite because portions are big! Drove almost 2 hours just for lunch (yeah that good!)

We have been coming here since it opened. All around perfect Irish Pub. I especially like ordering at the bar. If you like food their food is amazing, try everything. We recommend the Fish and Chips and any of the pasty's. I have not had a bad meal or bad experience. Thanks Celtic Ray for being a pillar in the revitalization of downtown Punta Gorda. We will always support local business over chains!

I woud leave a zero star if I could. We all walked in ordered food and drinks. One from our group asked for a domestic beer. Bartender rudely said we could leave didnt matter to him. All 4 of us walked out the door... looked like a nice place. Might train employees to be respectful of others tastes. He didnt know he couldnt order a domestic beer..

We rented the top floor out for our reception and it was amazing! Not only was the catered food by them delicious but the staff team was top notch. The staff was beyond kind and accommodating for us. I had forgotten our plates for the cake and the staff collected every plate they could find without hesitation. They honestly made the night go so smooth and stress free for me and all of our guest kept saying how amazing it was at Celtic. Thank you again for making our special day so much more amazing!

Traditional Pub atmosphere. Place your order at the bar and food brought to the table. Food was good. Table needed to be wiped down.

Can never get enough of this place! There is not one thing I don't love about this place. The food is excellent and drinks are the best!

We love "the Ray". Usually meet someone interesting at the bar. We've gone often for the entertainment on the patio stage.

The chicken curry was good. There was great live music.

Love the Celtic Ray. The live music is always great. The staff and service are pleasant and accommodating. I've taken a group of seniors for a lunch outing and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Also been here for a networking event and the atmosphere was excellent. Bartenders were friendly and the drinks were delicious. Highly recommend trying their old fashion with Jameson.

The food wasn't good. It was such a small portion. I was still hungry after having eaten it. It wasn't memorable, although maybe a month later I did remember what I got. It's called a pasty. It was maybe a 4" x 4" square (or smaller). Other people got fish and chips. Their portions were huge. The speed of the service was fast, although there's no table-side service. You have to walk up and get your food. It would be a good place to eat if you're a motorcycle rider, which I'm not. Food was also expensive.

Beer and sausage roll were amazing and the owners are great, was really surprised to find a good Irish place in Florida.

Not exactly an intimate Irish Pub... it has various large rooms and a large outdoor space. But it's consistently pleasant, the food is outstanding (and reasonably priced) and the service is always efficient and welcoming. Get your Pub on!!! :-)

Realy glad we checked this place out, great irish singer With and array of music, he didn't seem to stop the whole time. Authentic irish food, with great fish and chips. Singers name was Brendon Nolan an act to catch.

The Celtic is definitely one of the locals favorite watering holes. The Celtic is a great Public House and continues to grow and add to their amenities.

The lamb shank was on special on Mother's Day - DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS! We also ordered the Guinness Bacon Cheeseburger Pastie. What at treat! Regina served us and we are absolutely in love with this place.

I literally crave their shepherds pie and it so far has been the only thing I’ve eaten there so far out of the numerous times I’ve been there 😂 once I move to Punta Gorda area I’ll try more things from the menu but stealing bites of my boyfriend’s chicken curry that’s good too. Food is always quick and delicious. I’m a big fan of coming here

Been coming here for as long as they've been doing business. Tho I live 1700 miles away now, I make it a point to come in every time I am in the area. The pub is authentic as it gets being across the ocean, staff and customers alike are usually warm and, quite simply, amazing. No televisions, only great food, drink and conversation. The expansion into the surrounding area makes for finding a seat a breeze. Will continue to come as long as they will have me.

A great place that has a fine ambiance. The food is very good. Orders are taken at the bar where the bartender opens a tab with your card. Reminds me of a military enlisted club in that respect - to ensure no one drinks, dines and dashes. Fine selection of drinks and spirits. A popular location for locals and visitors. The staff have always been top tier and welcoming. Well worth a try!

Such a fun place with so many cool pictures of the British Isles. I had the fish and chips which was fantastic. Service was great! We will return!

We go to the pub 6 or so times a year. The service is always great and so is the pub atmosphere. The food however was disappointing, we both had the fish and chips which at $20 is a little pricey it about $16 in the UK but ok not a big deal. The issue was the food. The fish batter was good the fish was rubbery not flakey, and the main condiment, the 'Malt Vinegar' was not even Malt Vinegar, this is a must for fish and chips. The not Malt Vinegar lacks the correct tang, flavour and strength. A quick search on Google shows that US 'fish and chippies' purchase the 'not Malt vinegar' as it is much cheaper. It was nice to have a Harp on tap, but that is all we will purchase if we stop by in the future. Very disappointed.....

One of the best places in downtown Punta. Amazing food and very friendly staff. Minus a star for that brutal pre authorization charge. Will always close my tab right away now. No other establishments in the area do this Wanted to update because the older blonde bartender was very condescending and unwelcoming to my friend and I

We have been there a half dozen times. I like the atmosphere, the food and the service, but $8.50 for a beer is too much !

Corey, one of the 'house' managers greeted my wife and I as though we were family... Cheerfully answered our multitude of questions about the menu, history, and layout of the 'Public House'. Please know it's neither a 'bar' nor a restaurant. All orders are made at any of the multitude of bars inside or out and then delivered to your table promptly. All the food is authentic and what we had was delicious. After our lunch we stepped out into the courtyard where a live performance by 10 YEAR OLD guitarist Jaxon of the "Champ Jaxon" band was playing Hendrix, Neil Young Crazy Horse and many other truly inspiring rock and blues coverd... We were fortunate enough to be there for his rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner"...a heart moving inspirational moment I will always remember from this Memorial Day weekend. My wife and I will be making frequent visits here and we both give our highest recommendations for anyone who wants to feel surrounded by family they have never met before!

Just found a great spot, ordered at the bar, and enjoy amazing irish food.

Place rules. The only downside is if sitting inside, you need to order at the bar, no table service. Shepards pie was amazing. The batter for the tenders / fish and chips was to write home about. We will be back when in Punta Gorda.

Throwback that is unique in this area. Yes, you go to the bar to order...off of chalkboard menu. Servers are very helpful and know the menu, and pours. Then magic happens to deliver tableware and your meal. THAT MEAL WILL TASTE EXCELLENT. Tika pasty was a huge hit, also enjoyed corned beef ruben and cheesburger pasty's. Fish is huge, moist and perctly battered. All are served with hand cut fries. Soda bread topped it all off so well!

Fun atmosphere. Fish and chips were delicious but a little too bready for my tastes. Chips were my speed. Not super thin and they were fresh. Beer was great. Lots of choices

We sat outside so order food from the bar. My wife had Fish and chips and was very good. I had the rueben pasty, yum!

My irritation is that the plate prices are expensive for what we got. We got chicken strips, fish and chips, Scottish egg and 1 Irish car bomb. We spent $62 alone on it and there just wasn’t really anything special about it or amazing. If you don’t sit at the bar you go to the bar to order and that’s a Scottish tradition so that was interesting. We were down here from GA and we didn’t know about the open container law. We had gone to a previous place and bought drinks but didn’t know that they were closing. The bartender then highly recommended this place for us to go to. I still had not finished my drink that we had and I was just tryin to finish it but I was told to chug it or it was getting thrown away. Well it got thrown away and I wish there had been some understand or give with just letting me finish it without chugging. The drink I was drinking was not at this place or I would have bought one here as well with my meal. Some understanding just would have been nice when we came in late at night and were looking for food and drinks. I wish the menu had the prices on it so that we could have decided if we felt comfortable with the pricing. So if you want $15 a plate or more (I don’t know if it’s more because there are no prices til you get the check and already paid) then this is the place for you.

Went in for drinks. Good service. Great atmosphere

Ate here last night with some friends. Our food was amazing! My sons has the fish and chips which looked, smelled and tasted amazing—so crispy yet the fish was so flaky! We also got the Irish stew—equally as delicious and we all got the Jamison’s bread pudding which is a must have-but make sure to split it with someone! It is so soft, tender and melty and bursting with flavor. Oh and the Irish coffee is not light on the whiskey or the heavy cream—what a treat! The service was amazing too—I had just finished my meal when the server brought out the bread pudding. Couldn’t have been timed better! We will definitely be back!

We come here with my in-laws whenever we're in town. Love it. Food is always great, comes out fresh and hot. Bartender staff is friendly as well. Will always be back for more!

The food was awesome!! I had the Guinness Stew, with mashed potatoes, and coleslaw. It had a puff pastry on top. Everything was delicious! We'll definitely be going back!!

I won't lie. I go there for the 🍺 beer. Namely, I go there for Guinness Stout. The food is good but I seldom get around to actually eating a meal when I frequent the establishment.
