A little grizzly and greasy for my preference . However they deliver for free if you're close . The portion sizes are on point and favors the customer with a full belly. The prices are cheap too.

Been here a couple of weeks in a row now. I love biscuits and gravy and they have good B&G here, the girls are amazing, friendly, and the service is spot on. Second time here I decided to try the House Benedict for the first time in my life, never tasted a breakfast dish so flavorful. Might be one of my new faves. Thanks again to the girls for the wonderful service. Also the portion had me super full and it wasn't expensive. Less then 20 bucks for free coffee refills with 2 eggs Benedict English muffins and hash browns. Id pay that to have a good breakfast experience ANY day! Thanks again.

Very disappointed in the taste of the seafood platter breakfast. It cost more than anything else due to market value of the seafood (cod, jumbo shrimp, crabcake) but yet it was a bad choice - I asked to scramble fish ans shrimp together and crabcake on the side. That on its own created an issue with the waitress, although the menu says that they could do anything you ask. The eggs came out good, fish tasted good but it was tiny portion (on a desert plate) and there weren't 3 jumbo shrimp, maybe one, chopped. But the crabcake tasted terrible, sour. The made a fresh one but it was the same but hot. Full of clerry and oversalted. I couldn't eat it. I requested for it to be taken off the bill. But they only took 10% of entire bill which was only $4. Said it waa the bosses order. The crabcake is the most expensive item on that plate which I didn't eat. The waitress was standing there asking for the payment without even letting us look at bill. Pressuring us. Not appropriate. They should have at least taken my plate $$ amount off since it was such a disappointment. Not mentioning that after bringing our beverages she is gone MIA, so we waited for her awhile to even place food order. We are locals, will never be back.

Extremely rude employees. Met up with friends for lunch we hadn't seen in a long time. Drove a long way to eat here with them. They gave us the bill before we were even half finished eating. They kept sending different employees to get us to leave. They actually tried taking my drink out of my hand while I was drinking it. They took all our drinks before we were even done. They never even asked if we wanted dessert, which I would have gotten. It was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant. Would not recommend.

Great place for breakfast! I can't think of anything they don't have. Everything I have had here is good to perfection. Staff is very friendly and whoever walks by takes care of taking trash or offering coffee. They NEVER say "let me get your waitress"

Service was good, friendly waitress and prompt service. Not even a 5-minute wait and the restaurant was very busy when we got there / breakfast rush. I got the over easy eggs with grits and toast. The eggs was slightly overcooked, burnt around the edges. I could only eat the yolk in a little of the white. It was okay, I didn't complain because I was able to eat a little more than half of my breakfast. I recommend this place if you want a real Southern type breakfast. The portions are more than adequate.

We had a bit of a wait but it was Sunday at brunch time. Our server greeted us and got our drinks promptly and was very personable. Hands down best service we've received from a very busy restaurant since moving here 7 yrs ago. We ordered our food and were shocked at the large portions of fantastic, perfectly cooked food we all received. All of the staff were very attentive to our needs even though they were swamped and we never had to wait for anything. 6 of us feasted for around $60. We will definitely be coming back for breakfast as it is by far the best breakfast we've had in the Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte area.

The breakfast specials were Very unique and delicious u had the breakfast chimichanga and loved it. The service is fast and attentive. I will come back for sure.

Food tasted good, but was definitely overpriced for what we got. The fat boy breakfast was just potatoes and gravy essentially, very little protein. The southwest chicken biscuit was also just a pile of gravy, cheese, and bread. We both didn’t feel great afterwards. The service was excellent, food arrived quick. The waitresses and cashier were all very welcoming and sweet.

The type of food and service you look for as a traveler - this place made my day - just the service is worth the trip and experience. Thank you and I hope to return whenever in the area. Had to try the Fat Boy with gravy on the side... I never eat breakfast gravy though this was absolutely great on the side with the egg and potatoes. Cinn Bun a great appetizer.

Thank you Wes & John Ski's staff for the amazing breakfast. My husband ordered Scrapple with his Omelet, said it is the BEST scrapple outside of PA. Like the Scrapple grandma would serve in her home (grew up E-Town Pennsylvania). Warm homestyle diner-type atmosphere. NOT greasy food at all, this is fresh & excellent. I had fresh biscuits w/omelet w/mushrooms & swiss cheese, loaded w/steak, no skimpy portions here. Excellent, large portions, great prices, wonderful homey atmosphere. Good prices & lots of options. Not at all disappointed. We plan to make this a monthly date breakfast stop : ) Thank you!!

Was in town for work and a local told me I had to eat here. I had their version of Eggs Benedict, think it was called “house” or something like that and it was great. Coffee was good and the service was better. Best part - real crispy and delicious hash browns! I will go back next time I am in town.

I ordered the crepes with strawberries. Crepes were tiny and filled with a horrible filling. I was told it was made with cream cheese, vanilla pudding and vanilla extract. It was horrible and I still feel sick from it. Never again.

Staff were very friendly. Generous servings, reasonably priced. We will go back. Would Luke to try their lunch.

The menu was great, the food was great, the service was great. The only thing is I wish you would serve less quantity and charge less thereby wasting less. The two pancakes were so big the two of us didn’t eat any of the four slices of toast nor much of the potatoes. Our breakfast was about $22 yesterday at a different restaurant (and we ate most of the food) and our breakfast today was about $32 but we left about half of the food because we were full. Don’t get me wrong, the food was great but I don’t like wasting food or money. I want to edit my previous post about this place for breakfast. I love the breakfast with potatoes, eggs, cheese and sausage gravy; but I was just reminded that the potatoes were all very overcooked and actually discolored because of it. I probably will consider a different breakfast restaurant next time like Elena’s or even burg r bar. Just sayin.

We have gone here several times and it has been good but not this time. We left disappointed. The pancake was tough and not fluffy, the sausage gravy and biscuits looked like the gravy was on the stove for three days with loads of flour. I could hardly watch my wife eat it. Thick and goopy. I asked for extra crispy hash Browns. Never say extra...they were rock solid. Like I said, we have had good experiences but will think hard before a return. Sorry for negative but for over $30 we expect better.

Great food and prices. We were met by the owner when we entered and had a small wait time. I watched as the owner greeted each customer and was wiping down the tables to help his staff. Lead by example approach is very hard to find these days. Thank you for the great service and food.

Ordered the healthy omelet with chicken, mushrooms and spinach. The portion was quite ample and it came with a petite rolled crepe filled with something similar to marshmallow fluff. I brought a third of it home to eat the next morning. The ambiance was okay for a diner and the staff was very friendly and accommodating

Crab cake croissant sandwich came w soggy croissant. Pretty small cake for price a bit too broken up for lump crab cake. Pretty good Reuben a bit more meat when comparing to others. But price was lower as well. Sandwhich cut probably deli meat which is fine. Fries were good and potato salad not bad. Chunky w redskins on mini pots.

The food was delicious. For two people I paid $11. I got a crepe and two ham steams with a side of hash browns. The service was excellent too. However the outside isnt wheel chair excessible and I had to carry my grandmas wheelchair up the stairs.

So back before 2020 JS was the spot. But I have not been impressed recently. I got the "everything omelette" and it seemed like for ham they used spam, veggies inside were bland and the whole dish especially the hash browns needed salt. Wife got homefries, and they were plain and frankly unappetizing looking and tasting. Waitress did an alright job but was a little snippy when asked basic questions. Honestly, this time the food wasn't good enough to ignore how cramped the seating is. Couple that with how loud the environment is and suffice it to say we will be looking for another breakfast spot.

Learned about this gem yesterday. WOW!! Had breakfast there this morning and it was fantastic. We had the crab omelet, crab cake benedict and it was they were the best we've had. Our server, Wes, explained the menu and favorites...definitely didn't dissappoint and we will be back.

When you randomly pick this breakfast spot just because of their name. Loved their pancake! So fluffy and huge portion! Their maple syrup is one amazing quality. The Crab Cake Benedict wasn’t a fan of their Hollandaise Sauce. Once it is not properly made it sort of ruins the entire dish. Also order Orange Juice. If you’re an Espresso kind of girl; their coffee is not their best choice at all; too American and they don’t offer any non dairy milk.

Always look forward to visiting this establishment every year we go to Florida. Good food and people are always pleasant. Only disappointment was not seeing John at the restaurant the day after the Lions lost to the Cowboys lol. Highly recommend!!

We frequent Ski's. All the staff are wonderful. Food is good. They treat us like family. The female cook is the best! (Jessica). Large portions. Just a good local place! N12/19/23 Not a fancy place, but the best place to go for breakfast. John and family and all the staff are the best you can ask for. If there is something that you want and you don't see it on the menu, if they can they will always work it out for you.

It was fantastic! Had just got into town and was starving. A quick Google search yielded John Ski's as a viable option, but the catch was they were closing in an hour! We got there with about 45 mins to eat and there was only one other table so they were in closing mode. All this being said the waitress came out with a smile and took our order and the food came out quickly and was exactly what I wanted and was absolutely delicious and with a fresh pot of coffee! Had a great experience! I highly recommend and will be back!

I always try to support small businesses. This restaurant doesn't need my help, they are awesome. The food was unique change of pace. The crab infused meals were done right with great flavor. If you are looking for a place to eat, you wont be disappointed. The service was great as well.

I've been going to Skis for some years now. I've always loved it. However, today I was very disappointed. I ordered steak, eggs and grits. I asked for medium rare on the steak and it came out raw. I needed a chainsaw to cut it. Most of it I could not eat. The grits were really watery. Everything was cold. The waitress was wonderful though. It wasn't her fault. Maybe they changed cooks? I don't know.

I had the house eggs, Benedict and it was fantastic. My husband had scrambled eggs and pancakes and it came out way after my breakfast and they wasn’t as good. The pancakes were huge though, so if you’re not super hungry, I would get a half order. It’s just a little hole in the wall place but it was really good.

The only thing that was good, they had real potatoes!! Maybe the other dishes they have are good, but we just had, eggs,Grits toast sausage & bacon . That could have been better lol

Went there for breakfast with a few friends today. Toast came late. Had ordered sausage links with my eggs. The sausage links were deep fried in grease. If anyone knows. Sausage links should not be deep fried in grease. They tasted horrible. I can tell you. I will never eat there again. That place had gotten worse over the years.

I have never seen sausage biscuit gravy that was brown. It looked like the grease from their fryer. Tasted awful. Plus, you had to cut the biscuit with a knife. I've had biscuits and gravy my whole life, and this was terrible. Never again...

We got cold food the French toast has a bad after taste, Turkey bacon tasted like cardboard and the other food had little to no flavor. The waiter and the other worker were rushing you to eat and pay horrible experience would not recommend not worth the $80 I paid for me and two other people.

The bayou was especially tasty, loaded with all the extras. You expect this area of US lobster shrimp, and a host of other added topped with a great holiday sauce. Mama’s platter was also very good. Came with options like pancake or French toast, two eggs and you can add fruit instead of hashbrowns for those carb friendly meals. We will be back. Forgot to take pictures till we were halfway through.

Friendly service great home made real corned beef hash

Like b'fast there but was disappointed in the scrapple..I'm a Philly native & love my scrapple...I sent my portion back & requested if they could fry it CRISPY on both sides...when I got it back it was no difference....I actually make a SANDWICH with the scrapple & was not happy with it at all so I won't spend 3 plus dollars to order it again..however everything else was great

We had breakfast here a few weeks ago, and enjoyed our meals. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits which were plentiful and delicious. My wife really enjoyed her bacon and cheese omelet. This is the third time we have eaten here and the quality of the food has been consistent. I would recommend John Ski’s.

Sirloin Steak on Toasted Garlic Bread Two eggs scrambled, then topped with hollandaise sauce and four grilled prawns. awesome😋👍 The waiters are very warm and friendly, come again next time.
