The food was really good. The only thing that was a down set was that the music was really loud. Overall, I DO recommend!

I love meeting friends here for happy hour...the atmosphere is really friendly. I had to try the new fried green tomato appetizer, and it did not disappoint!

Mary was our server and she was fantastic and very professional! She made some great recommendations! The goat cheese appetizer with local pepper jelly was delicious! Atmosphere was also very!

Absolutely love this place ! Dave was our server, he is kind, friendly and professional . We came for happy hour and appetizers , we sat by the fire just for the ambiance in a most curated setting . We will make this our go to restaurant. 5 star all around . We are definitely returning !

Everything about this place is top-notch. The drinks, the food, the service, and the atmosphere. If you've never been here, you don't know what you're missing. The chef stopped by to see how everything is (outstanding), and our server Kendall was great. I'll be back and bringing family and friends.

The Winesett House provided an exceptional dining experience, compelling us to return for a second night. On both evenings, I enjoyed the filet, which was impeccably cooked and accompanied by flavorful mashed potatoes. My wife initially tried the Shrimp Rigatoni and was particularly impressed with the red sauce, which she described as the best she has ever had. On the second night, she opted for the Shrimp & Grits, which also exceeded our expectations. Our servers, Brittani and Shelby, demonstrated professionalism and extensive knowledge of the menu, which greatly assisted us in making our meal selections. We look forward to dining at The Winesett House again in the future.

Excellence food and service. I had the salmon and shrimp which was great. Pretty odd that they have a fire on inside when it’s 90 degrees outside though.

Met with friends, so company was amazing. Dinner was pleasant and presented in a nice manner. Some of our group had some dissatisfaction with their meals, and staff rectified issues satisfactorily. Entertainment was excellent.

Atmosphere was great for dinner with live music on a Saturday night. Service was excellent. We started with the Calamari, which was good. My lady had the braised short rib and shrimp, which she enjoyed. I had the Nashville chicken, which was horrible. I saw it was made with thighs instead of the usual chicken breast used for this meal everywhere else I’ve been. I still ordered it and I regret it. Sauce was not hot and was more sweet than anything. I’d go back, but I’ll never over that dish again Or recommend anybody else order it.

Didn't eat anything, but drinks were great! The bar was very busy for a Sunday evening so we grabbed some from the bar and went out to the cute patio to hang on a comfortable couch! We will be back for more next time we are in town!

First time there and it was a beautiful restaurant. Our server was attentive and also very personable. The food was the BEST!! I had the short ribs and shrimp. Short ribs were so flavorful and tender. The shrimp were huge and delicious. My sister-in-law had the salmon and shrimp and said it was the best she has ever had. My brother had the seared scallops and they were big and cooked perfectly. He was the first one done! They start you off with warm bread and butter. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

We were visiting and our waitress was wonderful. The place was beautiful and it was busy but we were able to be seated right away. The food was amazing. We had The Riposo salad, filet mignon, and seared sea scallops. We loved the butter and honey with the bread. Thank you for making our visit so special!

Excellent food. The atmosphere is very comfortable. The service was impeccable! I had the scallops which were so tasty with sweet potato grits and spinach. Also the Caesar salad was different but excellent!The chef came by and checked on us. I can't wait to go back!

I'm disappointed in MYSELF for not taking pictures of our entrees. We ate at Winesett House on Easter. With what could have been a crazy busy holiday with poor service & food preparation or a changed menu of easier to prepare dishes, Winesett House was just the opposite. Our reserved table of six was ready upon our arrival. Our server brought us water & took our drink orders. My husband & I ordered the 8oz. Filet Migon medium well. The steaks were done to perfection & very tender. They were elegantly accompanied by mashed potatoes & asparagus. Our other guests had meatloaf & seafood platters, which were also very tasty with sides of mashed potatoes & green beans. We topped the meal off with an orange cheese cake, which tasted like a creamsicle...YUM!! Service thruout our meal was impeccable & the Manager approached us at the end of our meal to inquire about our dining experience. All in all, it was a deliciously delightful experience.

Second time visiting this wonderful bistro. Travis, I can't speak highly enough about your vision as a restaurateur, the creativity of your junior "chefs" or how well your wait staff treats your patrons! We certainly will return next time we are in Punta Gorda!

Impossible to enjoy the good food and service because it was just too noisy. We needed to shout at each other across the table and couldn’t hear what the server was saying about the specials. There really is no need to have music playing so loud. We won’t go back.

Just finished dinner. Nashville chicken entree sounded healthy but awful. Breaded but not listed on the menu, burned to black cinders, waitress said fine. Inedible Outside needs umbrellas for shade. We won’t be back.

Another excellent meal at this location! We have been coming here for years, and even with the name/ownership changes, it is always a great experience. Our server tonight, Mary, was absolutely excellent! Friendly, informative, prompt, and she spent time explaining the history of Punta Gorda, and this restaurant. We really enjoyed our meals, cocktails, and our awesome server, Mary. Highly recommend!

Went here for the 1st time while on vacation. It was an excellent dinner. One of the best experiences I've had in my life. The ambiance of the place was cool. Shelby was a wonderful waitress. She had a great attitude and checked in regularly. The calamari was the best I've ever had. With the sweet and sour sauce and ranch (at least I think it was ranch) drizzle, it really shined. I also had shrimp and grits, which was great as well. I would highly recommend eating here if you've never tried it.

Food is fantastic! I had the short rib and shrimp and my wife had the scallops, both dishes were elegant and complex. Very nice, intimate atmosphere. Hostess was a little rude when we asked not to sit so close to the live music but our server was friendly and polite and the music turned out to be soft enough not to bother our anniversary dinner. Over all good experience and would highly recommend as an upscale dinner option. Compliments to the chef for an amazing meal

Filet and lobster was amazing along with the service from our waitress Sarah! The 2020 Blackboard Red Wine was fantastic! The Key Lime Pie and Raspberry Cheesecake was excellent!

All the meals but mine were great! It was my fault that I didn't let them know that my burger was very dry! Otherwise everything else was great!

Four of us had a great meal here. We liked the indoor atmosphere although it may not be for everybody. Also, the menu is limited and contains unique menu items such as short ribs and shrimp (which is what I had). May not be for everyone, but very good. Service was good, but could have been a little quicker.

Six of us went here for my husband's birthday. I was looking for someplace different to go to and found The Winesett House on a Google search. Based on the excellent reviews, I made a reservation and I'm thrilled that I did. This place was excellent - from the food, to the service, to the ambiance! All the food was beautifully plated. The guys all had the pork chop and said it was delicious. My sister had the sweet & sour meatloaf (which didn't sound very enticing to me). She said it was amazing - the sweet & sour sauce was perfect with the meatloaf. My girlfriend had the scallops with spinach over sweet potato grits. She's not a huge sweet potato fan, but said the grits were wonderful and the scallops were cooked to perfection. I had the 8oz filet done to medium-well, which is difficult to do, especially with a thick steak - it's either too rare (for me) or too well done. Not this steak! It was perfectly cooked and was full of flavor. Our server, Dave, was very personable and attentive but not overbearing. The ambiance was warm and inviting. I loved all of the exposed brick! I'm sorry I didn't get any photos of the food to post, but trust me when I say you won't be disappointed. We loved it so much, we'll definitely be visiting The Winesett House again, very soon! 5 stars across the board!

The atmosphere was very festive being Christmas - the staff were very efficient and the food was wonderful - we had lobster bisque, mahi mahi and seared scallops - flavors were mouth watering

Our anniversary was on New Year's Eve and my husband wanted to take me somewhere special. He chose the Winesett House. Neither of us had ever been and we were pleasantly surprised with our experience. Although it was a bit cool outside, we opted to dine outside on the back patio. The manager, John, immediately got to work lighting the outdoor heaters which worked well in keeping us comfortable. John was personable and gave us recommendations for our meal and wine choice, of which we followed. The wine was delicious and paired nicely with our oysters and the sea bass. The fried oysters with the remoulade were delicately fried and quite tasty. We weren't in a hurry and our waitress, Ashley, patiently waited for our order for our main entrees. She was friendly and kind and kept a good pace with our requests. The dishes were beautifully presented. The sea bass I ordered was expertly cooked with a perfect sear on the exterior and succulently moist inside. My husband ordered the lamb chops. They were cooked to a textbook medium rare and he raved about how delicious they were. His only complaint is that he wished there were more (He's a big eater). When our meal was nearing the end, the chef, Travis, came out to greet us and provided us with some rich history about the restaurant and his experience along the way, which we thoroughly enjoyed. As you can see in the photo, they brought us a piece of cheesecake for an anniversary dessert. It was a very sweet gesture and enhanced our experience. I can't say enough about our experience at the Winsett House. It was a perfect anniversary dinner at a perfect place from the atmosphere, to the service, to the food and, we highly recommend it!

Winesett House is an excellent establishment and I couldn’t be happier with my experiences there. I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and the majority of the menu at Winesett House is 100% gluten free. Finding restaurants able to accommodate and offer options that I can eat is challenging but Winesett House has been great. The food is superb and service is great.

Had our company Christmas dinner there a couple of weeks ago, everyone around the table was very happy with their dinner. We tried different appetizers and all of them were great! Will definitely go back.

Dad and I went here last night. Bryce was an attentive waiter and kept on top of water and drinks. The food was superb. Dad usually can't taste much after his cancer, yet the salmon and shrimp dish was easy to eat and great flavored. I had the scallops and sweet potato grits. I was nervous, as I usually don't like grits, but these were really flavorful and smooth. Drink prices were reasonable. We'll be back!

We celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary tonight at Winesett House. We were very impressed. Our server Taylor was very kind and attentive. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is great including a very good singer. This was our first time here and we’ll definitely return.

The place is nice, the girl who served us was excellent, very dear 5 ⭐️ the negative thing is that the manager did not allow the 2 tables to be put together and my family came from afar and for 2 hours in the restaurant we could not share. This restaurant policy is not at all flexible, I have gone to other places and they have put the tables together without a problem. The 5 stars for the service go to the girl who served us.

The food is incredible and the service was killer. Cody was super cool- he was so awesome and took super good care of us. And it was my friend’s anniversary and he brought cheesecake on the house!!! Highly recommend the fried oysters, but everything I had was insanely good.

Really enjoyed Winesett House. The atmosphere was really cool. Great music playing, and the service was excellent. The food was fantastic. I got the Old Fashioned Burger with no bun and the fries with the key lime spices(which were surprisingly amazing) and the Key lime pie, which happened to be gluten-free! We will definitely be going back.

We just hosted our 10 year anniversary party at your place last night and what a huge success. Of all the nights to rain with an outdoor venue planned, Travis quickly had a back up plan and moved the party inside 🎉The appetizers were absolutely delicious and the servers and bartender that were provided for our party were amazing. The blues band playing was a huge plus! I would absolutely use the Winesett house for any party that we plan in the future or just for a fun night out with friends. Thanks for everything and all accommodations Travis and staff!

Dropped in here this evening about 7:15 PM for a quick late bite since we had attended our Grandsons soccer game over here in Punta Gorda......the SERVICE (Brittani) was impeccable! The menu, although limited, the 4 items we tried, plus a cocktail were quite well prepared and very tasty. The Lobster Bisque was full of chunks of lobster and the garnish (huge bacon pieces!) on it put it over the top. the Fire & Ice salad was quite light and flavorful. The Ground Filet Sliders with the Goat Cheese & pineapple were AMAZING! I partook of the house Old Fashion with Maple Bitters & a fresh Cinnamon Stick in it......it was a great pre-meal cocktail. We finished the night with a Reese Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie!

Finally!! I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time. Unfortunately I'm not a reservation or wait list customer. We'll Friday I hit the jack pot. We were seated right away and had great service. It was very loud Unfortunately a table next to us was really really loud. We almost left but fortunately we stayed. I had the bone in pork chop that was the best I have ever had my beautiful girlfriend had the calamari. Travis stopped by to make sure we were enjoying our food and service. I wish I would have waited on the wait list a long time ago! From now on I will wait for this great experience!

Prices are high but you get what you pay for and the experience is wonderful. They are going to do even greater things there. Being a chef as a trade I am hard to impress when it pertains to food. Dave’s service and the back of house delivered a great culinary arts experience. We had the old fashioned burger with a bourbon cherry jam that paired excellent the goat cheese. The Filet Sliders are not pictured but were phenomenal as well! 🤠 Hats off Chef Travis!

First time here to eat. We just had dinner for our anniversary. Sarah our waitress suggested to us salmon and shrimps and short ribs with shrimps. My husband and I ordered one of each and the food was amazing! Thank you Sarah for been very professional and friendly at the same time. We found another gem ，The historic red-brick tavern in the heart of Punta Gorda’s. Tables were fully booked and we were lucky to find seats at the bar. The food is delicious especially the SOUTHERN STYLE LOBSTER BISQUE, I ate all of them. GROUND FILET SLIDERS. The meat is tender and delicious. The bartender Brandon is very professional, and the Smoked Maple Old Fashioned cocktail made me find the long-lost taste. Live music in the restaurant...will be back.

One of my favorite places to go in PG!! I brought my friend for her birthday, and our server Alaina was amazing 💚 The restaurant is beautiful. Food is always amazing, I bring someone new with me every chance I get and they fall in love with Winesett House instantly! The cocktails were perfectly made by Jen, their fabulous bartender!! Delicious fare with a little for everyone. Our waitstaff was slow after the first visit to our table. Had to bother other staff members for refills and other things. Took our son for his birthday, and they forgot after I told three of the staff.

What a nice suprise. My wife and I love the way it is decorated and the overall vibe and atmosphere of this restaurant. With brick, wood, tall book cases and a large stone fireplace, it's a nice change of pace. We will be back and try other dishes.
