Great sandwiches cool environment

Want to go back to the late 80's and early 90's and have awesome Fresh food and drinks. This is the diamond in the rough.

Tried the Midwest Best Club, definitely one of the better sandwiches I've had. Staff were also super friendly and helpful

Slowly becoming one of my favorite sandwich shops. A little pricey, but good sammies. Highly recommend the Pakalolo (ham+pineapple+swiss).

The smell of the sandwiches here is amazing. Taste is also off the chain. Looking for something basic? But complicated at the same time ? Don't judge me lol it just tasted great

I ordered my sandwich from Uber eats and substitution wasn't allowed on the app, but after placing my order I called the store and they still did the substitutions, thanks for your help John! I ordered the pinner sized (8 inch) Cali mist on garlic herb bread, with extra meat, and substituted the jalapeno for banana pepper and pepper jack for provolone. The quality of the deli meat is ok, thin bacon, and the veggies were fresh. The restaurant has a fun/unique concept going but the sandwiches aren't anything special as far as taste and quality.

I'm not really a sandwich person, but I gotta say, these subs are delicious! Plus, the decor they got inside is also an added bonus. Love how chill and friendly the staff are, too. Been here a couple of times and have never been disappointed. I've tried a couple of subs, all great; though, my favorite would definitely have to be the white widow!

Nick at the bar is great! Food is amazing! Service is awesome. 10/10 alll around. Impressed with Nicks perfect pour of my draft beer! Definitely coming back!!

Acapulco sandwich is the best in my opnion. Their mayo is so good too!!!

I came here on trivia night, not knowing, and it was pretty loud. Still giving it 5 stars as long as you know what you're getting into it's great. Probably not a spot to have a church fellowship lol.

Great variety of sandwiches. The pretzel bites are warm and toasty and the sauce is good. The gods gift with jalapeno and cream cheese is a perfect blend of spicy and creaminess. The desserts are also drool worthy. The place does get very packed.

Had the Power Plant sandwich, and it was AMAZING! The vibe of the restaurant was awesome, and I will definitely be back with my family to try more of the subs. I'm just bummed that I hadn't tried this place sooner!

I recently visited Cheba Hut Toasted Subs and tried the Sensi Kush sandwich. I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The sandwich was incredibly tasty, with fresh ingredients that made every bite delightful. The portions were just right, not too big and not too small. The sauces were exquisite and added the perfect flavor to the sandwich. Another highlight was the speed of service. My food came out very quickly, which is always a plus. I also decided to try a beer from their bar. Cheba Hut has a full bar with a solid list of draft beers, which was a pleasant surprise and complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, Cheba Hut Toasted Subs offers a great dining experience with delicious food, quick service, and an excellent selection of beers. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Tried this place out for the first time ever and got the dank. It was okay but way overpriced for what it was. Flavor was a bit lacking as well. I'll have to try a different sub next time. Kool-aid was great!

This place was good; decent selection of subs and their whole "toasted" entendre is kept up within the restaurant. I removed one star because I feel that for what is essentially a sandwich, it is severely overpriced my total was over 30 dollars for 2 people for a medium sandwich, drink, and chips each.

Have eaten here three times.. everything I’ve tried is so good! Decor is cute inside. Sandwiches are delicious! Can’t wait to try more.

I’m not into the 420 scene. I personally think weed is a termite on the users brain. I wonder if this chain can drug test with this type of theme? Anyway, this place is cool. My Canna sub was great. But most impressive was the staff. They were polite and checked on me multiple times. They even carried away my sandwich basket and took my trash. On my way out they wished me a great day. All with a smile. I will definitely be back!

What a fun sandwich shop! I love the vibes, very different than any other place! The sandwiches were great and the fact it has games and a bar makes it even better.

I can't judge on much besides the food because I had it delivered, but the sub I got was fantastic. I got the Kali Mist. I'm not usually a sub person when we go to other sub places, so I wanted to try a new place. I already knew that the bread would be a bit soggy and not as toasted due to having it delivered, so I can imagine fresh would be amazing. The amount of spicy on my sub was perfect. My daughter in law said hers was a 10/10 minus the soggy, lol. She got the Midwest Best. I find the whole concept funny and had a laugh as I was unrolling my sub.

This is a really cool spot. It was actually hopping in the late afternoon on a week day when we came in for a late lunch. I got the Kali Mist and it was so good! The pinner size was a lot of good for me and I couldn’t even finish it. They have a bar with a decent beer selection so we also ordered a couple of IPAs.

Delicious food. Great vibes and environment. A go to place for an affordable and great meal. Also has a bar and affordable drinks.

Came for a couple of drinks and to try infused items. They do NOT infuse ANYTHING here, which def sucks especially since the name and all the pot head stuff everywhere. Their drink menu is pretty much all sweet and I'm not really into sweet cocktails. Won't go back.

Update; yes, we keep coming back. They must be doing something good. Today, May 19th we had dinner and we were all happy. Update; We came for dinner on February 28th, and all the food was very good. I had the beef with horseradish sandwich. The tomato wasn't very ripe and there could have been more horseradish, but overall it was very good. I knew we'd be back here. We came here for the first time today, February 16th and had dinner. The food looked and tasted pretty good. It was a little pricey, but a nice change from their competition. The biggest disappointment was all the signs and pictures promoting Marijuana. We were there with young children and they don't need to see stuff like that. I know that many will disagree with my comments, but that's the way it is.

One of the worst sub places I have ever been. Was hoping by being 420 friendly it would be good food but nope. Subway does better sandwiches and also any sandwich place is cheaper than this restaurant chain.

A lot of sandwiches but my party of 3 all thought our sandwiches were just “okay”. Really fun and quirky place though. I would like to return and try some more of their food.

The staff here is ON IT!!! They're extremely attentive to the dining area, cleaning quickly and making sure all the fountain drinks are full. It's pretty awesome to see the initiative. Way to mf go guys!

It's too good! Sadly there's only 2 locations in San Antonio (I've only been to the 1604 location). It literally has me driving on the other side of town just to get a sandwich....and it's worth it every time!! This place doesn't disappoint. Tried it on a whim, and I keep going back. Better than Subway,Jersey Mike's and JimmyJohn's! Sometimes the cashiers are a bit of a " Debby downers", but I don't even care...everything after the initial 5 minutes encounter to place an order at the register is good & don't forget to get a rice crispy treat.

We went for drinks and ended up trying the no so nachos and dinner and we definitely going back

Not only some great subs, but some of the friendliest staff around. Has the AK-47 and the 5-0. Got the “nugg” size so I could try two, but I can tell you that I’m going to trying to run through this whole menu.

Staff was friendly, and it’s a cool place but they don’t seem to be knowledgeable over gluten free situations. On other reviews , it was said that they have gluten free options, but they really do not have gluten free options.. just salads, and the staff was unsure of ingredients that makes their "shake“ so there could be gluten in that or the sauces. if you have celiacs or a high gluten intolerance, it’s probably best to skip this establishment. It’s unfortunate, a lot of cool places like this are usually a bit more informed or have protocol for gluten free/celiacs. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a cross contamination issue between gluten free and the regular foods.

If you love a good sandwich, this is the place to go

Mario is a great bartender whom prides himself on his customer service and provides an exceptional atmosphere for all. His great sense of humor and attentive service will keep anyone coming back. His recommendations were absolutely on point. My experience absolutely superseded my expectations!

What a great sandwich. I eat at Cheba when ever I see one and they have all been delicious. Nothing different here just as good as the one in St Augustine FL.

Worst Cheba hut in the area. Got sick of their sandwiches. Got our order wrong 2 times on the same day.

Food has never let me down. Excellently crafted sandwiches. But this time the dessert won my heart. Fruity pebble rice crispy. I need 10 more.

I had a great experience here with the food and the laid back environment. The food made me drool. I've been missing out on good sandwiches. I love the artwork and design. I do have to say the first time I went, the interactions were a bit odd and uncomfortable. My coworker and I stopped by for lunch. I decided not to give them my business because the employees working that shift were very standoffish and rude towards us as if we didn't belong there. The people at the register didn't welcome us, they were straight to the point and acted annoyed with my coworker as she ordered, cutting her off though she already knew what she wanted. It seemed like the sandwich maker and the guy at the register didn't want to be there. When they handed my coworker her food they didn't say anything just shoved it at her like they wanted us out asap. The people that came in behind us were treated entirely different. Were welcomed, complete shift in attitude. It wasn't even busy. I didn't want to jump to the conclusion that it was a racial thing, maybe just poor customer service. I decided to give them another chance and was glad I did! I think it was just the day staff that day that turned me off from this place for a while. The recent two times I went with my boyfriend, everyone was friendly and attentive. Small talk with staff was funny. Between me and my boyfriend (mind you we got the largest size) we spent $30-$40 bucks.

Love the sandwiches, teas, and desserts here! Whenever we crave hot sandwiches, this is our spot. I highly recommend the white widow on garlic bread 🤍 but honestly every sandwhich I have tried is amazing in its own way.

This is the place my husband and I really enjoy going to for our Day Dates. My favorite is The Kind. My husband's favorite is their Chocolate Chip Cookie! The staff is super sweet and amazing! We will definitely be coming back!

$35 bucks for my medium sub and my man’s large sub and two drinks (plus 10% tip) The atmosphere is super fun and laid back. One of the employees said welcome to Cheeba butt and I though that was hilarious 🤭 The food was PHENOMENAL, the guy at the counter was friendly and talkative, and I got a hibiscus juice drink which was also great. I think we’ve found our go to sub place!

This place was amazingly awesome in any way you can come up with to describe a chill, good vibes, great good and service, oh and prices as well; eatery. What a fine establishment this is. It was recommended to me by a patient and at first, didn't know what to think of it. The names were hilarious but, my curiosity got the best of me and so I'm so glad I went and checked it out for myself. Do, go by and have some amazing sandwiches and lots more, believe me. Nugs, Pinners, and Blunts. This chill subshop has a full bar, too. Decided to try it as I always pass it by and next to my local grocery store. My hubby and I went all out. The menu is a long list of different subs! You can get white, wheat, or garlic bread in a nug (4"), pinner (8"), or blunt ("12). We tried a few nugs to go: 5-0 - is your all meat sub. I don't care for "all meat" things, but hubby said it was good. Sensi Kush - BLT - Is my fave. Avacado and sweet sriracha for the win! I had some fresh blue cheese at home. If you dig it, I crumbled some on it. Goodness, was it good. With or without the blue cheese, this will be my go-to. Kali Mist - The hubby's fave. The fresh jalapenos are what did for him. Not for the "not too spicy" folks. I took one bite, and my mouth was on fire! White widow - Chicken, bacon, ranch got over shadowed by all the other sandwiches we had. It was ok. Dank - Pizza sub - My hubby and I's second fave. It's like pizza! Get it on garlic bread.

We love this place. Their sandwiches are high quality with great ingredients and plenty of creativity. My favorite is the slightly spicy Kali Mist. Go for the garlic bread and you can't miss. If you have the munchies, try a "Goo ball."

Amazing food! First time going (we live on the South Sode) and Sierra was sooo nice & helpful. We heard about Cheba Hut from a Reddit thread and the food did not disappoint. It’s honestly the best sub shop we’ve ever visited. A full bar makes the visit even better! The food was worth the drive! Do yourself a favor and try it at least once- but be warned, it’s THAT good!
