Very SMALL I advise you make a reservation. Very small portions with authentic full flavors and Very polite staff. Felt like an old world style Maffia movie setting, very cool atmosphere.

Amazing food and amazing service! I had the Enchiladas de Espárragos con Mole Apiñonado and it was the best Mole I've had! The bartender was fantastic and recommended an excellent margarita with tajin. Will be back soon 😃

Amazing food and atmosphere. Great drinks and were able to accommodate a delicious vegan dish for myself when out with family, who loved the meat based dishes.

Family food in a family place. This is not Tex-Mex and I am glad. A challenge to find the first or second time but worth going back.

I've been going to Chilangos for years and have always recommended them to friends and family. The owner has always treated us like royalty, the staff is great, and their food is excellent. I haven't been in a long time since I moved a good distance away from their location. Their al-pastor burrito is definitely my favorite thing on the menu but everything else they serve has always been good. They really are great people too.

This is the best Mexican food in Rhode Island. After eating here, nowhere else feels worth it.

Went for dinner last night and had an amazing experience! Drinks were delicious! I had the hibiscus margarita and it was easily the best marg i’ve ever had. Super flavorful guacamole and salsa! Hector was an angel and it was a pleasure to meet him. Will definitely be returning!!!!

This place has the best Al Pastor 👄👌🤌🤌 I feel like if you charge over $20 for 4 tacos, a lil side of refried beans would be a good promotion 🥲

100% the best Mexican food in Providence

Service was great, drinks were mixed to perfection! I had the tamarind margarita and the mango margarita! The atmosphere is really nice and clean, they also have a nice closed patio. But as for the food, i am not a fan. The carne asada tacos was misssing that Sazônnn!(seasoning) It tasted like the shaved steak you would get to make steak and cheese sandwiches but they didn’t season it and it was very dry. I was charged extra for salsa verde for my tacos, which i found rather odd. Im not cheap or anything but come on now. The type of people that would love this place is the same type of people that like chipotle mayo in there street tacos. But other than that. Great drinks and service !!

As my cousin would say, wow, just wow. Possibly the worst restaurant experience of my life. We got there at 6:05 last evening. Should have been plenty of time to leave by 7:35 to catch a concert. They sat us directly below music blasting from the cheapest, lousiest sounding speakers I've ever heard. Conversation was nearly impossible, so we switched tables and ordered drinks. After 15 minutes they asked if we wanted an appetizer and we ordered one - still no drinks. My friend had a hard day and really needed her drink so that she could sip it and relax. Nope. 15 minutes later, 1/2 hour after we ordered, the drinks arrived with the appetizer. We were sitting in clear view of the bar and it wasn't as if the tender was going nuts - he was chatting, walking around, etc. Getting close to 7, our waiter finally showed up and we explained that we were running out of time. He assured us that they would try to get our orders out asap. Bottom line, we had to take our dinners to go. Tamales with mole had no mole in the box. I'll throw them out. I didn't see my friend's order. The only non-awful thing in the evening was the margarita, which was good. I spoke with a friend this morning who knows the restaurant well. He said he's not surprised at all. He said they treat you like dog poop (we were at the dog park, hence the analogy) until they "get to know you". One thing for sure - they won't get to know me.

First time at Chilangos and I already can’t wait to come back! Tortilla soup was fabulous with rich tomato broth. We also shared the queso fundido and Al pastor tacos which we so flavorful. Flan and churros for dessert we’re traditional and delicious ! We met Jeff behind the bar who introduced us to his families tequila, Don Nacho, which we loved. All around great experience and I can’t wait to come back to try more off this menu 🌮

I absolutely loved everything about the cuisine. Some of the best things included the tacos, beverages, and flan. Everything was hot but not too hot, and it was all fresh. Pleasant personnel and a wonderful environment. Recommended!

Great spot! The food and drinks were amazing (watch out for the Tamarind Marg… wicked delicious, but it catches up to you!). My girlfriend and I got the complimentary chips & salsa, guacamole, beef cheek enchiladas, beef tongue taco, and another beef taco I cannot recall. We also had the mango margarita, tamarind margarita, and bow & arrow cocktails to drink. There wasn’t a bad dish or drink among them! The only reason behind the lack of 5 stars was us being seated right next to the door (not the best insulation, so it was freezing) and it taking almost 10 minutes for us to get water and the menus. Minor issues in the overall experience - won’t stop us from visiting again and again on future date nights!

Our server, Roy, was very helpful in deciding what to order. Very friendly. Definitely looking forward to returning.

I enjoyed everything...the Guava Margaritas and the street tacos are very good. The cheese and bacon appetizer is very good also.

This was our first visit to the renovated Chilangos. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I won't return anytime soon however, because it was so LOUD in there I had to yell at the person sitting across from me to be heard. Can something be done about the acoustics?

Top notch in every possible way!

Even though it was our first time at Chilangos, I felt like I'd been there a dozen times before. We were greeted and sat immediately, our waiter made recommendations and everything was fresh with just the right amount of heat. The parking was a bit tricky, but we found a spot on the side street.

This place is such a gem. Friendly staff, excellent margaritas, and every one of their daily tacos I've tried is scrumptious. Do yourself a favor and don't leave without splitting the flan with whoever you're with for dessert....

This was a wonderfully unexpected place to visit. The authenticity of the food and their first class service created a memory that will linger in both my mouth and mind. We were welcomed with a thoughtful and warm smile by all the staff and Max the bartender made us feel like family. We will definitely be returning and adding this to our list of favorites in the Providence dining scene.

Oh. My. God. Got takeout from here for the first time tonight. Amazing. Authentic and beyond delicious. This is not one of the many PVD restaurants that serves Mexican food geared towards the standard American palate. Just really, really, really insanely good actual Mexican food. The burrito. The huitlacoche. The tamal. All of it was 11/10 (and great portions!) despite sitting in the bag for a 20 minute ride home. The staff inside seemed very gracious and sweet, I will be going back for a sit-down meal for sure. I can’t believe I slept on this place for so long. Don’t make the same mistake!

Sweet little spot. Popular, busy with local regulars. And I can see why. It was our first visit and one of the owners was so friendly we felt like we'd know them our whole lives. The tequilas are truly special. The food is great, not your basic mexican, some truly authentic recipes. Expect a wait, to get in and for your food to arrive. So come relaxed and prepared to chill.

Best traditional Mexican food in the city.

This place is a gem. We are in providence often, will be back for sure. The food was so good, authentic Mexican food. Loved everything. The tacos, drinks and flan were some of the best. Friendly staff, didn’t have a long wait though the place is obviously very popular.

The only thing better than the food, which is amazing are the drinks and the amazing staff.

Authentic Mexican food. The Guac is a must have. For dinner, I had the burrito villa and it was huge, delicious and I couldn't even finish it. The flan is the best flan I've ever had. Not eggy like most flans. This one was very creamy and smooth. This is a hidden gem in Providence. I would recommend reservations. We walked in and luckily were able to sit at bar.

I dream about this place weekly. Huge margarita pitchers in great flavors (try the tamarind!) and don’t sleep on the pambazos. Atmosphere is so inviting, like you’re sitting in the owners dining room having a meal. And the owner is a gem.

I was told by a friend they had the best taco in town but I couldnt resist getting the al pastor burrito when I saw it on the menu. Best burrito I've ever had.

Amazing tacos, tamales, and tortilla soup. Cute atmosphere, and great drinks, what else could you ask for? We got the special brisket taco with brie and a fig salsa - incredible!

The language barrier is not a factor, the staff goes above and beyond to provide the best possible service. If you want an authentic meal Chilangos will not disappoint... Enjoy

Fantastic authentic Mexican food.

Absolutely 5 stars. Amazing Customer Service and food. We ordered Enchiladas Suizas, Flautas, 1Brisket taco, 1 Mole Poblano taco, rice and beans side and Jamaica juice. Do not judge a book by its cover! This little "hole in the wall" is a hidden gem! Wonderful service, amazing food and great atmosphere. Very large portions, you definitely won't leave this place hungry. The wait staff is very attentive, quick to offer suggestions when we asked and we didn't wait wait long for anything. 2 of us are are vegetarian/vegan and they had no issue accommodating and offered several substitutions for the meat in their dishes. We'll definitely be visiting again!

One of very few authentic Mexican restaurants you’ll find in RI. Authentic Mexican cuisine is more difficult to find than you think, most are just “Americanized”- Mexican food. Chilangos is the real deal, and of great and high quality. Delightful service, baffled by the last review. This place is top notch, best in Rhode Island.

Best Mexican food in providence ! Get the cochinita pibil

The drink are well-made, nicely presented. Each time I have gone the servers were very patient and kind. Highly recommend their tamales 🫔! They are good lol Moist, flavorful and we kept bugging for the sauce.... My friend got the enchiladas con mole can’t remember the name but it was also delicious. I do advise my friends that the way we make our meat is a lil different. It’s still juicy tho. Really clean restaurant! Almost feels like a house, cozy.

SOOO good. So many different meats to choose from for tacos. I got the beef brisket, al pastor and chipotle chicken and all of them were amazing. And the staff is so nice and friendly too. Definitely will be back!

Create experience great Mexican food looking forward to going back

This is a covid 19 takeout review. All food is eaten fresh in the vehicle. I found this place on line and decided to take a ride over from CT. Man am I glad I did. This was some extraordinary food. I had three Tacos, AL Pastor, Chicken, and Suardaro. All three were unbelievably tasty and satisfying. What a great start. I then had a chicken Pambazo, equally well done and tasty. I finished off with three chicken flauta and these were large and great also. The people are friendly and the food came out quickly. This is worth a return trip. On a scale of 0-10 this is a 9.4.

First time that I visit and is not going to be the last, love this place, they make feel like home.

The best Mexican food I've ever had, period. That's the truth!

I enjoy the environment; great for after work hangout or first date restaurant. I had Al Pastor and Chicharon tacos and theyre were amazing (well done and great flavor but to much cilantro for me). As well I had the Torta with carne asada; comparing to California tacos it was about quality over quantity and boy did Chilangos did a great job with the meat. ❤️❤️❤️

Excellent experience. The margaritas are very fresh and well made. Appetizers were out of this world. Highly recommend tamales, too. Queso with chorizo was A+++. Only thing slightly disappointing was the Carne Asada. Must visit!

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Providence. The Villa burrito is a classic.
