In all Mexican restaurants when you buy a soup the rice is included but not in this place another thing I ask for a chicharrón quesadilla was nothing but veggies in there and no chicharrón this is not a good place to go …

The food was delicious as always, I’ve been here many times but this particular visit the lady at the front counter was extremely rude. After I paid she told me my card hadn’t gone through. I had to show her on her monitor that it said paid, she didn’t believe me and I showed her that transaction on my app. Horrible service from that lady. Won’t stop me from coming here because the food is great but that lady needs some help.

I used to live this place.... the last 2 times I went there, I ordered 2 burritos. The first time, I ordered One with shrimp and one with steak. First I was told that the shrimp burrito was a "special" burrito. That it was a "Supreme" burrito....ok. the total was about $28. After I left I noticed the shrimp burrito was actually "shrimp fajitas" in a burrito. Not what I wanted but ok. Very small burritos for a "Supreme".... the second time I asked for just a shrimp burrito with out peppers. They told me that they needed to speak with the OWNER for that🤯.ok. the owner said "sure, charge him the same price, just don't put the rest in... just put the shrimp." Again the total was about $28. My number was called and I received a small paper bag. I asked if there were 2 burritos there and they confirmed. When I got in the car and checked... there was a burrito that could fit in the palm of my hands with a diameter of less than 2 inches. The steak burrito was still small but not bad. Maybe I'm being crazy??? Or do you se something wrong with this?

My partner and I ate lunch here during our first full day in Providence. Our food was absolutely scrumptious and we enjoyed the surrounding neighborhood!

i hate to say it, i have always liked this place... but the barbacoa burrito i got tonight had THREE separate pieces of bone in it and the meat smelled turned. It tasted off, and had the texture like it had overcooked and had water added to try to make it less dry which doesn't really work once the fats have fully left the meat. I'm very food adventurous and I'll eat plenty of things others would reject without my stomach having an issue... but my stomach was yelling at me about this quick enough that i actually threw out the order. woof.

I can’t believe that there hasn’t been a review of La Lupita for 5 years. I guess everyone knows from word of mouth already, but try anything that this dedicated family and their staff makes. And then try something different the next time you come back. You will be thinking about their food later, and you will be back. I’m not going to give away any secrets either, but there is one thing they do that people talk about more than the rest. Enjoy!

Great service, great people. This is the best burrito in Providence, I swear to you, its full of meat and all the delicious toppings, and for just $1 more they'll add so much avocado. Their red salsa is to die for, spicy but flavorful. You're missing out if you haven't had lunch at La Lupita

6/26/23– My friend Soyla stopped for her burritos . She wanted me to eat but I just couldn’t . I found parking along side the Main Street . It has been years since my last visit , and back then, I remember the tables being filthy . However, since it was a quiet Monday afternoon , and my friend really wanted burritos , we stopped here. My friend ordered her burritos and was served promptly . The wait for her order was short . The restaurant was adorned with vibrant colors and decorations creating a lively atmosphere. It was also spacious and a notable improvement was that I could see inside the kitchen (don’t recall if I did before ) it appeared cleaned . Based on yesterdays experience, I would recommend giving this place a try . The cashier lady was looking at me a little too much when I was taking pictures . It’s 2023 people do this now to leave reviews . Embarrassing Fact: I remember when this place opened . I asked if there were same owners , the cashiers said yes . There was pepper spray incident involving one my youngest stepson, he must of have been 11/12 years old . To this day my stepson is very embarrassed about it and doesn’t go there . He is now 34 years old . This place has just opened when this incident happened . I didn’t know where to hide myself . What an embarrassing moment .

Horrible servicio de la señora, es una grosera y la familia le apoya su actitud porque se lo hice saber al parecer al hijo y es como sino le importara perder el cliente, no se excusa por la mala actitud de la señora, al final los negocios se deben a los clientes. Y de igual forma la comida fría. Todo horrible en ese lugar. No lo recomiendo.

Authentic Mexican "cheap eats". Busy at times, understandably so. Parking (and driving) in this neighborhood can be tough (on-street only) but worth the effort. Solid. Reasonable. No frills.

Tiene muy poca educación, siempre está de mal humor y atiende como si nos estuviera haciendo un favor. Deplorable atención! No lo recomiendo y no volveré a ese lugar.

I just recently moved to Rhode Island from Texas and I was desperately looking for a taste of home. This was the best I’ve had in Rhode Island! Had a beef Fajita burrito that was tremendous, the guacamole and chips I had on the side were fresh and delicious. Service was fast and friendly! I’m definitely putting this place in my restaurant rotation.

Authentic and mind blowingly delicious. We ordered the lamb and pork carnitas street tacos, street corn and chips and salsa. Everything was loaded with flavor and you can tell that they really care about the quality of their food. The customer service was outstanding and it's such a good place for a quick bite to eat.

Very good burrito. I got a large burrito with Al pastor ($7.50). It was a nice size, tasty and well stuffed. The side of red sauce was perfect to pour on top of each bite. My criticism would be the pork itself. They were cut into tiny pieces and it wasn’t tender, on the chewy side. Overall good and everything seems very affordable.

This is based on a take-out experience, maybe it’s better dining in? Anyway, my mom and I purchased take out from this spot, and it left much to be desired. I ordered the steak mexicana…not much flavor and they forgot my rice and beans. No tortillas either… My mom had the ceviche tostada which she said was “okay”. My toddler had the chicken tenders and fries. He liked the fries? The chicken tenders were beer battered? He wasn’t a fan, but he’s also only a toddler so his tastes are over the place. Super disappointed and will unfortunately have to continue the hunt for good Mexican food, as I haven’t been able to find any as of yet.

Personally I've always had good service when visiting however I crossed paths with a man who had been waiting half an hour for only 3 tacos. He had been there when the place wasn't busy and multiple people who entered after him got their food before him. He did get a free drink and dessert though. Other than that La Lupita has amazing food and I would recommend anyone in the area try it.

So I just placed an order of 12 "EXTRA" tacos which are $3. I get charged more($3.50) and the lady at the counter tells me because of taxes? How absurd. Then she tries to tell me it is the register doing this? SO basically all customers have been overpaying for their meals? I was trying to explain to her that she overcharged me and has the audacity to tell me I have an attitude? And btw It clearly states it on the receipt that it was not taxes. I can only wonder how long has this been going for. I am reporting them to the AG office. THIS PLACE CLEARLY MISSES THE POINT SO LET ME EXPLAIN THIS AS IF IM SPEAKING TO A 2YR OLD. YOUR SITE SAYS $3.00 FOR EXTRA TACOS, I WAS CHARGED $3.50...PLAIN AND SIMPLE BEFORE TAXES. IN OTHER WORDS, YOUR "REGISTER" IS NOT CORRECT AND CHARGING PEOPLE MORE THAN YOUR SITE SAYS....HOPEFULLY YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THAT. BUT I HAVE FILED A COMPLAIN WITH THE AG...THANKS

La Lupita- I moved from California years ago where the Mexican food is amazing. I was disappointed with Rhode Island Mexican food offerings until I found La Lupita. Fresh, amazing, friendly, and community oriented family owned business. I highly recommend!

I've been here once, and the enchiladas or whatever I got were fire. Literally. Those things were spicy. But they were still really good. Didn't take long for the food to come, either. I give this place 4 stars based on food quality and the fact that it's fairly clean inside the restaurant. It's not like "Wow! That was spectacular, I must come back tomorrow!!", but I'd still definitely recommend.

Being from the west coast, I know what authentic Mexican food tastes like. I moved to CT 11 years ago and have tried many Mexican restaurants claiming to be authentic, but all just disappointed me. This place, however,knows what a real carne asada should taste like. Great salsa too.

The food here is delicious! The servers are very nice, however the gentleman at the register needs an attitude check. Regardless, I am returning here when I'm back in the area. Awesome authentic Mexican!

I always visit this place when I make a trip to Providence. It's a little place in olneyville. Great tacos, great choices, Great prices as well. Place was clean and quiet when I went. I always bring friends here if they are in the mood for some great authentic Mexican Food

Real good authentic Mexican food. Prices are great. Food is ready so fast. There is no parking here. If you want to eat in I suggest not driving here. I got take out and the bus stop is directly in front of the place, so I hopped out and had the driver pull around. I’d definitely get take out from here again.

The steak burrito is absolutely delicious and satisfying. 2nd time I've had it and it didn't disappoint with flavor, texture, or portion. The nachos were not my fave. Looking forward to trying other dishes the next time I go.

This is a covid 19 takeout review. All food is eaten fresh in the vehicle. I ordered 3 tacos, a pulled chicken, a pulled pork, and a pulled pork with green Chile's. I also ordered a pulled chicken Torta and a pulled pork huarache. Everything was very good. And it became even better when I added their green sauce. The only thing I would say is the pulled pork was not pulled but diced. Still very tasty. On a scale from 0-10 I would taste this 8.8.

Hands down best Mexican food in PVD. Not fancy, no fusion, just traditional street food. Quesadillas are hot, fresh, and full of perfectly melted cheese. Tacos are on fresh tortillas and well stuffed - and they aren't shy with the cilantro and onion if you get them. Pozole is delicious and tastes like what I grew up with. Stay away from the nachos - they're just there for the indecisive. Personally not a fan of the chorizo, in some part because I don't find it greasy enough. But the salsa - goodness gracious! Their salsas are out of this world, fresh and perfectly salted, bright reds and greens and made while you sit there if they happen to run out. The pico scoops in excellent fashion, with more cilantro than you can shake a stick at. The cooked salsas are nice and chunky and often clog the ketchup dispensers they come in (this is a very good thing). We generally think of thier food as a vehicle to get to the salsa, which is the real star. Don't be afraid to be greedy with it, it really makes the meal!
