Very good food excellent service

Just a great little Puerto Rican restaurant! The owners are very nice and the food is phenomenal! The alcapurias are out of this world!

I really liked the Cuban sandwich and fries. Very friendly service.

Went today and ordered 2 sandwiches after 35 minutes of waiting just to receive two sandwiches with no meat only queso sauce go back in to let them know my sandwiches are made wrong everyone laughed so here iam waiting 20 more minutes just for them slide some meat on the hard bread no apologies or nothing the cashier is totally rude I would never come here again ...

The atmosphere feels like home. AND THE FOOD?! It’s delectable. Truly a lovable and beautiful establishment. Im bringing my second stomach next time lol.

The sopa is delicious and has a good portion size. Empanadas were amazing. Friendly service and a clean restaurant.

I couldn’t recommend this establishment to anyone. Empanada had about a tablespoon of bad filling and my sandwich was too dry to swallow.

I just moved here from Pennsylvania. My girlfriend told me about this place that they have authentic Puerto Rican food. We went and I can honestly say the hospitality the overall service of this place is amazing. The place was packed but the food was coming and going quick as the orders were coming in. The owner's husband was even going to the back and even getting the online orders ready. It was just great to see a restaurant function like that when there was a lot of customers in the restaurant. When I got my food the food was hot great well seasoned.

Stopped by for lunch due a craving for some traditional Puerto Rican food and I was not disappointed. The pollo a la plancha was exquisite, didn’t even require the use of any condiments. The arroz con gandules was excellent as well, definitely took me back to the good days of thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Tostones were crispy and the mayo ketchup was a nice dressing. All in all, I plan on coming back and I sincerely hope they open a location closer to Winter Park.

This place a has great food, however I waited with two small children who were hungry for an hour and 10 minutes for three items! I will not be returning until they figure out their timing… everyone in the place was waiting for over 40 min for their food.

Food is acceptable though, wait time is long especially if it's take out. I ordered white rice, beans, chicken stew and plaintains. Got alot alot of rice, three really small pieces of chicken and burned plaintains, they were black. It took 30 min for this order that was already cooked and all it needed was to be served. Been there a few times but this will be my last. Not worth the wait. Nope!!

I ordered the Mofongo with Carne fritas and mofongo was good but dissapointed that only 4 small pieces of carne fritas. When other places they put more than that.

So upon walking in jay made me and my boyfriend feel super welcome gave us all the details on their specials and main menu items which was very hard to choose from he had super good customer service was very well spoken ! So I ordered the chicharrones plate with the white rice and beans with the yuca which by the way was very good very juicy and great priced ! I also had the alcapuria jueyes (crab meat) which was bomb !!!! 10/10 recommend we’re definitely coming back thank you !

Fresh food, good hospitality, very welcoming. The owner Jay made my experience one to remember. His wife makes the food fresh every morning. I totally recommend. The food was BUSSING, great prices, lunch specials change every week. Me and my girlfriend was very satisfied with our food and time dining in to eat. We give it a 10/10 and we will definitely making this restaurant one of our go to places.

The food is made when you order so it’s hot and fresh. Very tasty and a lot of food for the money. I had the mofongo with shrimp. Super delicious. I highly recommended it.

Google searched best food in Sanford and this was one of them to come up. So glad we stopped in, Jay greeted us at the counter with a warm smile and let us know the specials for the day. Hubby went with the ropa vieja with white rice and red beans (one of the specials) and I went with pernil and arroz con gandules. Both came with 2 sides & both dishes were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!!!

Went in for the first time for lunch a few days ago. The man who took our order was very friendly and explained what the menu items we didn’t recognize were. The food was absolutely amazing, I especially enjoyed the tostones! We will definitely be coming back.

I had their breakfast sandwich and for the price the taste and value was exceptional. It's at least 10 inches of fresh bread filled with crispy bacon,fresh eggs perfectly cooked and cheese. I also tried a bite of a coworkers pork dish and it was great as well. I will mention there was a decent amount of wait for the sandwich compared to other dishes it looks like so do not order in a rush, but the time is worth waiting for it.

Food was amazing! 10/10 on the food and service owner was super polite and helpful. I’m giving the atmosphere only 3 stars because There’s an overflow of supplies as soon as you walk in, floors in dining room definitely need mopped. Bathroom 🫤 not to bad but needs cleaned. And no music in dining room. I will say the food alone is so excellent we will be returning on the regular. Just more than likely for takeout unless issues are addressed. Thank you for the amazing food

Visiting family and decided to visit COQUI due to the positive reviews on line. The service was excellent, our food was delicious and the restaurant was super clean. We ordered the empanada is highly recommended. Freshly made and tasty. Arroz con gandules in our shrimp platter with maduros … order it again! Mofongo w/ bistec was a large plate and very good. Please visit this place you will not be disappointed.

Every time I get food from here it’s always good! Today I just got 2 empanadas, but omg they were yummy! Normally I hate shredded chicken bc it just tastes like plain boiled chicken - not these ones. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful’! The pizza empanada was just the right amount of sauce and cheese. I normally get the pernil & arroz con gandules, which is always good.

Coqui is a small simple restaurant as far as appearance goes, but my abuela’s house was small and simple too, and honestly the food this place puts out is the closest I’ve found to hers! Believe me when I say, that is the highest compliment I could ever give. Jay, the front of the house half of the owner duo is so friendly and makes you feel at home. His wife Teresa is the master chef who leads a team of ladies in the kitchen that make EVERYTHING from scratch and made to order. While sitting here eating lunch today a man walked in and said I drove from Apopka, just for your alcapurrias, cause they’re that good! I have been here well over a dozen times over the last few years, and I have never once witnessed an unhappy customer. Jay and Teresa are the type of people who deserve great success because their love and passion coves through in everything they do in this restaurant. Thank you so much for giving this community delicious, authentic Puerto Rican food ❤️🇵🇷

I recently visited Coqui Restaurant during my holiday travels and tried some of their frituras. The alcapurria and sorullo were particularly delicious. The papa rellena, although a bit overcooked and small, still tasted okay. Their arroz con gandules and pernil were good, though I've had better elsewhere. A unique offering was their specialty Mofongo, which was more like mangu with a mofongo flavor – very soft and flavorful. The pechuga a la plancha was also quite tasty. The host was extremely helpful and friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean. Overall, it was a very good experience.

This is a great Puerto Rican restaurant. The food is authentic and affordable. The manager was extremely welcoming and had great upselling tactics. **The one downside I experienced was the filthy baby high chair. This is a crucial necessity for younger children to enjoy a meal with their family at your business. It is important to have it just as clean as every other table/seat.** *The food is served in Styrofoam to go containers. Not problematic.*

First time trying Puerto Rican cuisine and the owner customized our fish dish and it was tasty and delicious. The portion was huge and we finished with cheese flan to die for 🤤kudos to the owner, just a great place for a meal 👍
