Eric Francis, in one of his renowned horoscopes, unintentionally describes the sense one gets upon first contact with CoSM, and the global art community that circulates around it: "Imagine you have lived a thousand years, or a thousand centuries, preparing for something: something you're not quite sure what or when. Only why has been apparent, and only at times; the twists and turns of the world certainly do their part to assail and debase faith and dignity. But you have kept yours, and while the light has at times been dim, it has always been present. Now, imagine the world is expecting you; imagine that your true peers, people who have woven in and out of the story of your journey for many eons, are waiting to greet you, accept you back, and welcome you to your true identity."

Wwwooowww! What an amazing experience! I went with my husband and stayed at the Grey House for the night. Location is so beautiful! We walked the trails and meditate in the garden. Entheon is incredible. We were so inspired by it. We will definitely come back and highly recommend it :)

This review if for the Mushroom Cafe. The cafe was covered with amazing murals. That was definitely the best part. The staff was kind and provided great service. The food though, was underwhelming. The mushroom medley panini (which was the only fresh mushroom option) I'm pretty sure was just crimini mushrooms reheated with some goat cheese and some greens. All the other mushroom infused foods were gourmet mushroom powders baked in cookies. We did have some chaga coffee that was pretty good. But over-all we were hoping for more fresh gourmet mushroom options, to go along with the theme of (Mycelial experience honoring our fungal ancestors) saying it's a one of a kind mycelial experience.

Incredible experience!! I recently attended an immersive workshop at CoSM. What a magical place to host a workshop. Alex and Allyson Grey are the kindest hosts and the CoSM staff are all AWESOME. There is a powerful transformative energy at the CoSM grounds that just evokes joy and creativity. In addition to attending the workshop, I also did an overnight stay at the Grey House. The accommodations were perfect! The Grey House is a delightful Victorian style B&B which is by itself very enchanting. There is self-serve breakfast available in the morning with plenty of healthful options. The Mushroom Cafe also has some food/teas/elixirs available for purchase and I ordered a tasty functional mushroom tea. I could've spend hours looking at all the art painted on the walls of the cafe, and there's an endless amount of really enthralling art pieces throughout the rest of the Grey house. In the early morning, I enjoyed a quiet reflective walk along the Wisdom Trail and found some fascinating sculptures, a reflecting pond, and some delicious wild berries along the trail! :) Before leaving, I ventured into the new Entheon building which hosts 3-floors of visionary art exhibits. I could easily spend hours (if not days) in every single room of the Entheon. The whole place is just overflowing with world-class visionary art and I highly recommend the immersive overnight stay as a way to fully experience CoSM in all of its glory!

Having the Chapel all to ourselves was incredible. To experience each mirror for however long I needed, fully present to my own internal responses was a true blessing. Beautiful property and amazing stay at Grey House. The crazy thunderstorm capped a fully memorable adventure.

Museum of esoteric delight and spiritualism. Nestled in the middle of nowhere, drive to the Entheon, the main museum. The Grey House is a B&B and wasn't open to the public. The Mushroom Cafe wasn't open when we arrived. The museum has three floors with the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors on the third floor. Each floor is a surprise and you can easily spend an hour here viewing the art, sculpture, and video. There is nothing like this that I'm aware of in northeast US. It's worth a stop if you're in the Hudson Valley.

The Pantheon is amazing to explore, but security guards can be less intimidating. You dont exactly want to be approached by a military looking big dude right after the dj set is over and directed to leave. I was just looking at pictures on the walls, since the dancing crowd was gone. I went outside and wanted to stop by the big fire for a minute before getting in my car. There were people standing by the fire as well. Immediately, from the other side of the fire a guard walked strait to me and asked: are you staying overnight? No? Then its time to leave, the party has ended! Big guy in a militia-style, all black uniform. I did not even ask if i can stay a minute and enjoy the fire, i just left. After leaving over a 100 $ in this place in a few hours, you dont exactly want to be talked to in such way. I observed different guards talking in the same manner to guests throughout the day.Is there a reason to strictly kick everyone out right when the music stops, cant people have an hour just to stand by the fire and socialise before driving home?

A sublime and divine oasis of some of the most extraordinarily gifted and talented artists and heart-centric thinking and feeling Minds as one will ever meet in the northern exurbs of NYC. Or really anywhere on Earth. All curated (the good people and the art) by Alex Grey, one of the most genuine living Bodhisatva’s alive, working, thinking and feeling in the world today. And his brilliant and talented First Lady of Art & Spirit, the lovely Allyson Grey. If you ever need a dose of genuine Spirit and respite from all the malarkey this modern dysfunctional world sends at us in endless streams of media madness. One weekend spend on these hallowed grounds and buildings, filled chock-a-block with hundreds of the most sublime and scintillating, transformational artworks, at peace amongst their beautiful and talented staff and Sanga. Might be the best “reset button” one can reach anywhere in the sprawling metropolitan region of NYC. Namaste 🙏

Amazing place and art, however, the people and main artist, Alex Grey, are phonies. I was invited to one of their events and at the event I asked if I could film and document the event for my immersive art website, which I was given permission to do so by numerous staff. After I spent a week editing the footage, I sent it over to show them before I posted it, I was then threatened by Alex's daughter saying I was not allowed to post the content or I would be sued by them, and then her and the staff proceeded to degrade me and mock my editing skills. This was a horrible behavior from a place that claims to be "spiritual" and is supposed to be there for the happiness of all. I won't be supporting them after that display of behavior. Their vessels and conscious decision taint the art that was channeled. Perhaps the spirit can select better outlets next time. I started out inspired by the design of the art and ended disappointed due to their arrogance.

CoSM is a unique experience and is most certainly a an unconventional addition to Dutchess County. But in my personal experience, the atmosphere felt a little “off.” Admission is typically in the $20 range, so a girlfriend and I decided to attend during their open house weekend. With lots of space to freely roam, it felt busy, but not necessarily “crowded.” We started in the “Grey House” and were able to stop in the “Mushroom Cafe.” Their version of a hot chocolate was great and it was nice to peruse around at some of the smaller pieces of artwork. This building also featured the gift shop and the dining hall—both of which were pretty nice. I will comment that the dining hall didn’t have a lot of seating, and it felt off to be charged for food, when the site also has a cafe. Going on a normal weekend, the cost of going to this self-proclaimed spiritual site surely adds up. Anyhow, it was nice walking the grounds, though exhibits on the property weren’t clearly labeled and weren’t the easiest to follow based on the provided map. Most of the images advertised online are of the Entheon—the “sacred temple” of CoSM. A lot of the artwork I can appreciate, but I also take issue with. In my humble opinion, CoSM isn’t a “bad” place to visit and experience. However, there is a heavy drug culture and cult like component that almost makes it a mockery of spirituality. And that’s a hard thing to overlook when you leave a site and almost feel “dirty,” by the sheer amount of ego and narcissism reflected into the art.

I remember when I first saw the the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors installation in 2008 when it was installed in a wharehouse outlet in Midtown Manhattan. And then followed the Grey’s creative path north to Wappinger Falls. Between 2010 and 2015, I took art workshops and attended Sunday art churches. I had wonderful experiences immersed in the art of Alex and visiting artists who taught there and musicians who played there. I’ll never forget the incredible gongs played during the meditation. I learned so much. The mansion is gorgeously restored. The Mushroom cafe is so beautifully painted by visiting artists. The wooded trails are beautiful.
