I have been going 60 yrs. O it is heavenly to dine I take the hamburger steak I allow my self red meat once weekly I clamor for the salad then oions mushrooms on steak I engulf it all I want to.live to be 90 I eat good food.

The service was great ,very sweet server and hostess. The food was wildly subpar. Our group unanimously agreed the best thing we had were hush puppies and side salads. Homemade ranch was a huge plus. We all thought grouper tasted like catfish. No cheese, seasoning, butter in the grits (shrimp and grits.)Shrimp were served with tails, had to dig them out of the grits to pick the tails off. That was weird and awkward. She crab soup pretty awful as well: 4 pcs of crab and some milk.

do not order the fried catfish! it’s way too expensive to be a special and has absolutely no seasoning. it looked fabulous but when i dove in and took a bite it tasted like fried cardboard with plain fish in the middle. love the staff and the atmosphere here but yall need to do better with the seasoning.

This was my family's third visit in three years to Daphne's and by far the least satisfying. We were a group of six, so we were seated in a small "private" room (although not by request). The problem with this room is that it's entirely internal (no windows) and is used for two groups at a time with only bifold doors (that don't close all the way) between each party. With another large group in the same room, it was very difficult to enjoy our dinner without hearing their conversation the entire evening. Our food was decent (except my steak), but not up to the standards we expected. My NY strip steak was ordered medium rare, but was served medium well. The server agreed that it was overcooked, so she returned it and brought another. The replacement was rare, not medium rare. At this point, I was already 15 minutes behind the rest of my party and did not want to wait for a properly cooked steak, so I began to eat it. Flavorless is the best I can say about it. So much gristle that only about half of the steak was edible. The twice baked potato was good, but the "biscuits" with my dinner were awful - hard as rocks, cold, and crumbled into dry little pieces when cut. Frankly, my dinner was a waste of $46. Our server was great, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about this visit. Incidentally, we were surprised by the number of empty tables in the main dining room on a Saturday night, given that in prior years the restaurant was packed. If we come back next year it will be with the hope of significant improvement.

We were staying at Shear Lake Resort and this place was recommended. I can’t say enough about it. I had the grilled grouper with cheese grits and hush puppies. My husband had the deviled crab. Everything was delicious. The presentation was top notch. The hostess and our waiter Noah was so nice and accommodating. We were traveling through and decided to go halfway to this area and we are so pleased to have found this hidden gem.Quaint homey atmosphere..Loved it and will be back.

Food was sub-par. Fillet was overcooked Scallops and shrimp was tough. Off Frozen food used, NOT fresh ad they say! Go eat else where. Too high priced for subpar food.

Service was excellent and the Fried Shrimp and Parmesan Baked Grouper were both very good. Great atmosphere to celebrate an anniversary.

Daphne is a fabulous place to enjoy excellent food in a quaint, cozy setting. The catfish and hushpuppies are the best anywhere. I enthusiastically recommend Daphne Lodge.

We had a reservation for 7:30. We arrived around 7:25. We were greeted and then seated. We sat at our table about 35 minutes before we were acknowledged. The lady took our drink order, we ordered 2 appetizers and our main entrée. We waited about 15 minutes and received our appetizers and then about 5 minutes later our salads. We then were served our entrées. I ordered the 8oz steak fillet with shrimp scampi. My husband ordered the grouper blackened. I ordered my steak medium well and was served medium rare. I got a to go box because I will not eat anything that's not cooked to my liking. We were recommended to patronize this restaurant for our anniversary, but the service we received and the food I received was not good.

Ordered the Quail GA style, Shrimp Scampi and fried pickles.

If you are in the area and want a great meal this is your place. Typically in life you get what you pay for and this place is no exception. The service was perfect, the timing of the food also perfect. Even the decor was just right. I have never had fried pickles that I actually liked but this place totally turned that around for me. The shrimp and grits were the best I've ever had and I've had them in many places. There was really nothing I could point out as a negative.

We had a wonderful meal. Started with the baked bacon oysters which were great. There were 4, for reference. The salad was fresh and our entrées, grouper and deviled crab, were wonderful. They serve a terrific garlic butter with crackers that would be much better with fresh bread, however.

Found Daphne on a restaurant search in Google Maps by open and top rated. We were surprised that we were able to get a table but the staff was accommodating. We tried the Blue Cheese Chips as an appetizer. I ordered the Daphne shrimp and grits, it was delicious. My wife got the filet and a loaded potato, she gets her steak well done and it was perfect, some chefs have a tough time cooking a steak well done. The atmosphere was cool, I felt like I had walked through a portal and I was back in 1977. The waitress were all so attentive and nice. Hope we can go back some time soon.

The restaurant is very nice and quaint. Husband and I enjoyed our meals and atmosphere.

I went in and wanted to place a to go order. The nice girl up front went and got an older lady and she informed me that they do not take to go orders from 5:30 to 7:30. They don't open until about 5:30. And I got there about 6:00. I only wanted place the order for me, one person, and they wouldn't. So I drove around trying to find something else to eat and everywhere I went, they didn't have what I wanted. So I eventually went back to Daphne Lodge and begged the lady to please let me order and I would sit out side and wait till whenever they could get my food. So she took my phone number and told me she would call me when it was ready. I sat outside and walked my dog for about 30 minutes. I finally got my food. It was good though.

As an AVID customer, it is safe to say the food is always good and the staff is always incredible. Steaks are uniquely tasteful and wonderful. Great for a celebration or just a good ol Tuesday night. Great wine list too.

A truly unique experience...cozy, home feeling. The chef of twenty years has perfected seafood and steak cuisine. The wine selection is vast and all at reasonable prices.

What a great experience. I travel for business and eat out four times a week at independent restaurants. This by far is at the top of the list such a great lodge style restaurant. you can just tell the other guests attend on a regular basis and staff have been there for a while. First time there but I already felt like family. Food was well cooked also I look forward to coming back

The experience was good for a date night. Friendly, as were customers. The food was excellent for the money. Menu hasn't changed in almost 20 years.

Daphne Lodge has always provided excellent service, food, & hospitality! We enjoy the lovely ambiance & welcoming decor! The price is very affordable compared to many other local restaurants. I would definitely recommend making a reservation.

First night ordered takeout fish was way overcooked next night we dined in and the food was overcooked and on some plates undercover why did you change what sunny and Sue's had done through the years?why fix it if it's not broken

Wonderful, warm, friendly atmosphere with great southern food!

We were traveling from south ga to macon. Seen it on Google and stopped to eat, only three tables were being used. No one waiting on table but us. Couldn't seat us because we didn't have a reservation. U could have seated us and feed us before you got the place filled up. Just ridiculous.

If you want a fine dining experience the Daphne Lodge is your place. The She crab soup is a must! A lot of tempting dishes to choose from but of course I chose the Shrimp and grits. The tomato gravy adds a unique flavor to the dish. Staff was very helpful when ordering and made sure we were taken care of. Highly recommend. I look forward to trying something else when we come back.
