Five stars always well deserved. After nine years I returned to Florida and when traveling around Marco Island I couldn't help but stop for dinner at Davide Italian cafe. A true Italian restaurant in Florida, with a menu enviable even by Italian restaurants in Italy and products that come directly from Italy. Staff in the room very friendly and helpful. The owner Davide, always present and full of irony and kindness and is always ready to joke with all customers. I again ate an excellent gluten-free pizza, a delicious appetizer with truly exceptional buffalo mozzarella.

This is a small real deal Italian restaurant. We were greeted upon entering and the service was excellent. The owner is from Italy and was walking around talking to the guests. There were two different groups that I heard speaking with the owner that had also spent time living in Italy. The first night that we ate there I had the Chicken Parm dinner and my wife had a Lobster Ravioli with a Vodka sauce. Her dish was delicious. My Chicken Parm was good and cooked perfectly. My only complaint would be that their marinara sauce was bland. We returned with friends a few days later and all 4 dishes were excellent. One friend ordered the Chicken parm but asked to have vodka sauce instead of the marinara and they accommodated her request. Two of us had a crab and shrimp with pasta special and my wife had gnocchi. Everything was great. The one star deduction is due to the bland marinara sauce. The portions were good.

Well I always like to visit new Italian restaurants. This location has a pretty interesting history. The food was very good. Nothing was really that spicy. Nice bread offer and small tasty salad that were a part if the entrees. The eggplant dish was very good. My veal Romana dish was tasty and very enjoyable. All our food was very good. The service was good. The desserts were excellent. The owner was very friendly andfull of interaction with us. Really nice nnight.i also had a side of home made sausage which was very good. Probably will go back.

I am remiss in writing this review. Our experience was great. Food was so good that we HAD to go back two nights later. Live music was very enjoyable but a little loud at times. Service was excellent. Can't wait to visit in the future.

davide’s is the best, most authentic italian restaurant on marco island!! if i could give 10 stars, i would. davide, the owner, and the staff are so welcoming and friendly and made us feel so at home. he is from sicily and let me tell you, it shows!! the food was amazing and the cannolis were the absolute best we have ever had. we went all over to multiple italian restaurants and NOTHING compared to davide’s! this is a MUST TRY. if that doesn’t convince you, we went back 4 times in 5 days! i can’t recommend it enough. i would fly back to marco island just for a cannoli from davides!

Absolute best Italian restaurant I have been to in years. I am so impressed. I grew up in New York, in a small community, blessed with great Italian eateries. I’ve also spent time in Italy. I have since moved to the Midwest and miss real, authentic Italian food. This was a taste of home. The service, the atmosphere, the food, ALL OF IT! I cannot tell you how impressed I am. Their desserts are even delicious!

My husband and I have been looking forward to coming to this restaurant for the past 2 years. Finally tonight we were able to reserve a seat. What a huge huge huge disappointment. Not only was there no atmosphere but the food was extremely disappointing. My husband and I will never dine in here again.

Made a last minute reservation for two on Friday night. Arrived and was told 5 minutes- no empty tables and it appeared to be a longer wait. There was room at a very small bar area so we sat at the bar and decided to eat there instead of waiting. My wife had the pasta special- home made tagliatelle with shrimp and scallops in a scampi sauce. The pasta was good- but they put way too much sauce in the dish- I had the veal Romano which was average and again swimming in sauce. The main issue was this place was very loud. They had a singer with a karaoke machine type set up- initially playing Italian music then switched to some disco era music very very loud. Weird for a place like this. The pizza looked amazing so will be back to try that - based on two other nice Italian places in Marco I put this one in 3rd place…..

It’s a good restaurant, but the prices are outrageous, a pasta dish was over $22. That also included a salad but the salad was 5 pieces of lettuce and that probably cost over $10. I understand it’s a fancy restaurant but if your gonna give 5 pieces of lettuce at least lower the prices.

Everything was exceptional except the way they made you feel as a single diner. It’s humiliating enough to have to dine alone without them adding to your feeling. I was asked if I would mind eating at the bar. I did not want to. They seated me outside and at the end of my meal, asked if I could leave bec. they had reservations for the table I was sitting at. I still had most of a glass Of wine yet to consume. It was a humiliating experience. I won’t go back.

Davide! You never disappoint. We live in NJ, I travel there 4 times a year and always stop in for the best Italian food outside of Italy. When you go there, never hesitate to get the specials! Been here several times over last 3 years, always had great food and service. How disappointing to bring family that had never been there and have POOR service. The food was not close to the quality we remember. Chicken tasted process at best. Sauce on entrees were overpowering in quantity; made it seem chicken were swimmming in sauce. Marsala, tasted like beef base and flour/cornstarch, canned mushroom and only a touch of Marsala wine. All 4 ar dinner were dissapointed.

I am intrigued by all the 5 star reviews for this restaurant though I notice that most of the reviews are a year old or more. We go to Davide with our neighbors once a year. They are well into their 80s and are from "the old country" and very Italian. They love the music and operatic performances so we go even though the cuisine, including Italian dishes, is average at best, service is erratic, and the ambiance is poor. Inside it is dark and cramped and outside seating borders the parking lot of a small shopping center. There are numerous Marco restaurants far better than Davide so I am dubious about many of the reviews.

It’s soo good to have a local real Italian restaurant. With real Italian food. Pizza dough is made with Italian flour ( for me as a glutarded it’s a winning point ) Very cozy and pleasant. Terrible service. We had a reservation made 3 days ago, arrived there and they didn’t have us on for a reservation. Probably the worst Italian food I’ve ever eaten. Ordered chicken Marsala and the chicken was dry and the marsala sauce looked and tasted more like chicken broth. No flavor at all. Do not leave Marco Island without a visit.

I would order pizza again as take out. I would not likely eat inside again. If you have young children this is likely a good place re the pizza if you can wait an hour. I think wine by the glass at $9.95 is WAY over-priced -- even for Marco Island. I had 1 beer, my wife 2 glasses of wine, our bill was $79. I gave our very good waitress a $21 tip, (25%) even with all the above. We appreciate our servers. We sit down and the place was only about 40% full. It took one hour to get our food then we ordered desert and we set there 15 minutes eating on that. The food is not great but good. I will not go back there anymore.

Always liked this place. Food was average at best. I think they have lost their step. Ordered shrimp scampi and the dish was very watery. The pasta was swimming in water.
