This was a wonderful discovery! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere!

This place is amazing!!! It is definitely a place that locals know!! It was kind of apparent because it looked like we were driving off of an island. We were completely surrounded by water, crossed a little bridge and voila.... beautiful scene!! 😍😍 We arrived, the line was out the door the entire time but it moved quickly because of their "system." Upon arriving at the cashier, you place your order THEN you are seated. Once you sit, your order arrives fairly quickly. The staff was not standing around talking; they were working..from the kitchen to the waiters/waitresses. 👍🏾 Food: I wanted a fish sandwich so I decided to try the file fish (never heard of it) because I overheard one of the cooks suggest it to someone in front of me. Well....when I tell you I was NOT disappointed!! I ordered it blackened.

Always delicious and relaxed, beautiful view location! Best fried shrimp basket and so many choices of seafood too! Love it!!

My Uber driver recommended it and did not miss!! Not super pricey for seafood, friendly staff and amazing shrimps!! Definitely recommend the nachos with the blackened shrimps!

Could I possibly leave MORE stars? This place is WONDERFUL! We came at the right time of the year because schools are back in session and it was raining earlier, so there was no line! The food was astoundingly tasty, the service was immaculate, and the atmosphere was everything we, as out-of-state tourists, could have asked for! We will most certainly be coming back!

When we came the line was out the door but it moved quickly. You order your food first and then find a table. Everything was delicious. I had the gator tail and file fish basket after the cashier recommended it.

The food was on point. Good prices and good food. We had the gator bites, blackened Grouper, fried shrimp, crab cakes and clam chowder. We ate all of it.

Dockside is also a fresh fish market located on a backroad behind a marina, so don't go expecting fancy, but you can expect some of the freshest and best prepared seafood you will ever put in your face. Tables are squeezed in close to accommodate crowds, but the service is friendly (order at the counter), and the basic seafood menu is done to perfection.

Our family had lunch here recently. Everyone loved their meals!! From the scallops to the soft shell crab po' boy to the hush puppies, everything was excellent. Decent selection of beers as well. It's very casual, you order at the counter, then your order number is called. It's comfortable and relaxed. Reminds me of the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia, sort of. Like a fish market you can eat in. We loved it and hope to have the opportunity to go again.

My husband and I both ordered the shrimp and crab cake basket. It was super delicious!! The crab cakes were light and fluffy and the grilled shrimp, just wow! Next time we’re in town we’ll for sure go back. I’m amazed…

Fantastic seafood and atmosphere. Love that the fresh fish and shrimp are caught locally with specials changing regularly. Our crew loved everything we ordered including steamed shrimp, hushpuppies, crab soup, crab cakes, and fried gator tail. Oysters were on the small side but very good. Highly recommend.

Let me start by saying that the customer service at Dockside Seafood Restaurant was good, but that’s where the tide of positivity ends. They have this rule about sitting at tables with a tracker, which is understandable in theory but not consistently enforced. My wife was told she couldn't sit at a table with a tracker while waiting for the rest of us, and she obliged. However, I saw other patrons doing just that without a word from the staff. I guess they just let that rule slip through the net sometimes. The main issue, though, was the food. The shrimp grill tacos were pretty lame. They came in a build-your-own format, which would be fine if the components were up to par. Unfortunately, the shrimp were so small they could join a school talent show, and the tortillas were as cold as the Atlantic. Trying to assemble these tacos was an exercise in futility, and eating them was even worse. I drove two hours to dine at this place, only to be left feeling shell-shocked by the disappointment. The saving grace was the customer service, which was friendly and attentive, but good service can only do so much when the food is sub-par. And don't even get me started on the parking—I'd be here all day. Let's just say the experience was far from a catch of the day.

The only disappointment that I have is that you are no longer offering delivery. I’m currently recuperating in a physical rehab center and I have a craving for your cuisine but cannot get it because you don’t offer delivery.

Great locations for fresh-from-the-boat seafood and as well as fish from other locations. Prices are reasonable and the portions are large.

The line was so long, we thought we'd wait for hours, but it was maybe 1/2 an hour. The food was delicious!!!! Everyone I spoke to on the line had been back several times!!!!! I know I'll be back when I'm in Jacksonville!!

Overpriced dryed out fish. Sorry not dry, lots of butter, I think it's butter. Food hits the table less than 10mins.

The food was great but the service was just okay, would have preferred it if a server would’ve came to check on our table rather than having to get up for refills and desert.

Dockside has been on my list of places to try for a long time. I’ve been in Jacksonville for ten years now and I’m kicking myself for not trying this place sooner. You can park in the parking lot or there is also free valet parking. The valet makes it easy. The atmosphere is great. The indoor seating layout is nice. There is also a screened porch with seating and, via some stairs, some truly outdoor seating that is next to the water. There is often a line out the front so if you do go, be prepared to wait before being able to order at the counter. It was definitely worth the wait. Orders are placed and paid for at the counter when you go in, and there is a drink fill station that was worked by an employee. Food is brought to the table via little table tracker devices. Now for the food… it was delicious! I got a combo basket consisting of calamari and Haddock. I consider myself to be a calamari connoisseur of sorts, and their calamari was perfect. Their fries and hush puppies are nicely cooked as well. The made-in-house tartar sauce was great to dip everything in. When I went it was a nice sunny and breezy day and sitting down by the water for a late lunch was perfect.

Casual seafood restaurant. We had fried shrimp and calamari and gripper cakes. Delicious! We did have to wait in line 30 or so minutes. I guess it is always busy.

The line was long but it moved fast! The staff was very friendly. We sat in the screened area l, it was a lot cooler than the inside dining area . I had the fried shrimp and my MIL had the trigger fish and they both were excellent. I will definitely be back!

Great scenic location on Marina. Redfish and scallops were great as well as blackened or fried. Sauces were ok as were fries and coleslaw. Staff friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Recommend the combo platters to sample if you have been here before.

My family visited this establishment while in Jacksonville,FL and it was amazing! We’re so glad our auntie recommended it! There is seating inside and outside. All of the seafood is fresh! Everything came out so fast too! Everything was so good! Customer Service was Awesome! Big shout out to Matt who stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. Definitely would visit again!

Wonderful fresh seafood…. Very small parking area.

The food would have been good, but due to the girl taking our order messing it all up, some of us had to wait to eat until the missing orders arrived and by that time everything was cold. The whole situation was very unpleasant, and the manager brought our missing food To Go when we did not say we wanted it to go.(this was most likely because we were told to order the missing food at the To Go counter in order to skip the long line). At this point we were actually ready to go and super annoyed, and so we did, after paying a total of $150 for a failed birthday lunch I will have a very hard time returning and giving it another chance since the manager made absolutely no attempt to take control,fix the situation or give us any small incentive for the major inconvenience.

The old Safe Harbor was always my in-laws favorite place here, but Dockside might be even better and a lot easier to get to! The inside gets crowded with the line but the view outside is great!

Returned on July 12, 2024 and it was outstanding again!! I was so glad to see enough staff cleaning the tables, delicering the food and overseeing the floor. The wait was very limited for a Friday & it was a wonderful day!!!

All the food here is made extremely fresh and tastes great. The only real downsides are the line to get in, that it's always too loud for a nice conversation with your fellow meal mates, and there is usually never any parking spots so you may be forced to use valet parking unless you can snag a parking spot in the nearby playground parking lot.

Freshest seafood I've had in awhile and it was delicious. Will be coming on my next visit to see my son.

This place was really good! We actually came the day before and the line was outside the door about 20 people. So we came back the next day when it was much less crowded. Great food! Great outdoor/indoor seating. No complaints here!

The food was pretty good. It was not completely fun waiting in the line to eat but that did not take too long. We had our small dog with us so we were told we needed to go outside. Where it was raining. No umbrellas. So we had to eat in the rain. The cost the same as most places. Not really worth it. Parking is not good either.

We visited for the first time yesterday. Everything was great. The food was fresh and we were able to get thru the line to order pretty quickly during peak lunch hour.

This is a counter service experience where they deliver your food after you order. The line was short on a Wednesday night. It overlooks the intercoastal. You can eat outside on nice days. Very casual with great fish choices

My Wife and I had lunch at Dockside Seafood Restaurant at Jax Beach. We've passed this restaurant many times on the Bridge over the ICW on Beach Boulevard on the way to JAX Beach. At Dockside, you order your meal, find a seat, then your meal is delivered to your table. There are tables inside and out. We decided to eat inside since it was close to 95° outside. The restaurant is very nicely decorated with plenty of windows for a view of the boat ramp and marina. My wive enjoyed the blackened triggerfish basket with a side salad, coleslaw, and hush puppies. She said it was delicious. I had the fish combo of fried scallops and fried clams with fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. My fish was great. The seafood batter is seasoned perfectly. The fries were good, coleslaw average and the hush puppies were OK. The employees who took our order, served us drinks and delivered the food were all pleasant and enthusiastic. It was a good value for the quality of food. We will be back.

Hate to publicize how good this place is. The food was fresh and well cooked. The people were great and the place very laid back. Just a good seafood joint.

Relaxed dining at waterfront. Be prepared to stand in line and wait to be seated. They have a large menu to accommodate everyone, including the kiddos. I wasn't fond of the crabcake, but everything else was good. I always recommend this place.

We stopped in with the family. Long wait line but worth it. We had never been, so we weren't sure about the process. You need to figure out what you want by the time you get in the door. They have menus outside close to the front door and also inside if you need to go get one while standing in line. It kind of freaks you out when you first walk in because the line is so long, and the dining area doesn't look that big. Where is everyone going to sit??? Not to worry. By the time you order, someone has picked up and left. The staff is immediately there to get the table cleaned for the next family. I didn't see one person ever standing around for a tabel. They have a pretty smart system. The food was great. We ticked the kids into trying the fried Alligator bites. They loved!! Even after we told them it wasn't chicken. Lol Their serving size was perfect. I had a Blackened Mahi with a salad and green beans. Everyone had something different, and everyone had happy plates when we were done. We would absolutely go back!! Once you're done, head out over to the bay, and depending on what time you can get there. Go and take an amazing picture with your family during the sunset.

This was our first experience at Dockside and we enjoyed it. There's quite a long wait to order food that extended outside in the early evening but for the most part - it moved along at a good pace. The employees are all nice from start to finish. The one criticism is the drink station, which I wish were self service. Certainly not the alcohol but all others would be nice. To this note - I wish they had a stack of take out boxes available for self service like with certain sauces and drink lids; stepping back in line again and again for drink refills and then take home boxes cuts into the positive dining experience.

A friend and I met here for lunch on a Friday at noon. Line was out the door, and down the ramp. It didn't take long to get inside, surprisingly. Very efficient set-up. We were seated, awaiting our meals, in 20 minutes. We both got blackened grouper sandwiches, which were superb. Servers were very attentive. Prices were standard for the market. I've been here several times, and I will be back. Highly recommend

First-timers at this location in Jacksonville. It is place your order, take a seat and food delivered to you. Service was great, food was delivered quickly and accurately. My only complaint was the scallops - the size of a nickel (did not know that when I ordered - in my mind I pictured large, juicy scallops) and an $8.00 upcharge to have them grilled! They were good but not fantastic and certainly not worth the $27.42 I paid for lunch. Would I go again? No, but my friend loved it!

Great food! I do not like their concept. Ordering food at register. No wait staff. But hey, it works for them. There always seems to be a line waiting. I do wish law enforcement would ticket the car that take up boat trailer spaces in the ramp parking. I call every chance I can. Specially handicapped parking.
