Had the peperoni rolls and Italian stallion pizza!!!! Outta this world

Hell yea this is Pittsburgh. No pretensions, just good food, fair prices, nice people. And bangin tunes on the speakers to boot. Try the stuffed peppers or the hot sausage sandwich

Got food poisoning last Saturday from here ???

Soggy meatballs not happy usually great. Service was perfect as usual but the food took a dive I hope they can recover. Sauce was great pep and spinach rolls great as usual.

Stopped here after picking up our niece at the airport. Everything we had was delicious. Good food, good service, and reasonable prices .

Amazing food. I had blackened salmon dish with salad and soup. Then had peacon rolled ice cream with caramel and chocolate syrup drizzled. I shared the dessert with my date and he gets mad at me because he fell in love with this dessert.

First time I was ever in this restaurant. Per the owners, this place has been there for 17 years. I went there today with a large party (there was 18 of us). We were seated quickly (we did get there when they opened) and the server (who I understand is the sister of one of the owners) who waited on our party was outstanding. She was organized, friendly and all of our meals were served at the same time and served to the correct person. I was truly amazed at the service. THe food - exceptional. There was not one complaint from anyone in our party regarding the food. So very pleased with this establishment. I will be be returning

Best pepperoni rolls I ever had.

Our server was lovely and the food was excellent (gone too sizzling for photos!). Highly recommend the pizza or soup in a bread bowl- any of them. The view of the church and cemetery was especially neat. Place was busy and the clientele was all ages so both my teenage daughter and senior mother felt comfortable. A lot of high top tables, fyi.

This was our first time. Special was worth the wait and Karen was a great waitress!

This is a great local bar and restaurant—staff is AMAZING, food is delicious, and the overall atmosphere is fantastic! My husband and I are now regulars and we make it a point to come once a week. Our go to food options include—boneless wings, pizza, fish sandwich, and the smothered fries.

I haven't had the chance to make it here for a few years, but the food was just as good as I remembered. Our waitress Becca was excellent with regards to suggestions and overall service. Will definitely be back!

found this place randomly driving along the road. portions are crazy big( not complaining obviously). Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. The fries are delicious. Definitely coming back .

First time here yesterday and the food was excellent. I’ve wanted to stop in for a while now and I’m glad I did. The pepperoni rolls were excellent and so were the boneless wings. Not sure what wings they use but definitely the best boneless wings I’ve had in a long time.

This is a nice local bar and grill, we go fairly frequently. Menu is somewhat typical stuff, they have a few unique things. The rolls are amazing (especially the chicken bacon), and you have to try their wedding soup (upgrade your side, it's worth it)! Full bar, variety of domestic beers but also have a couple of rotating craft taps, usually local brews. Worth a stop! Closed on Mondays...that has tripped me up occasionally.

Possibly the largest and best fish sandwich in the Burgh. Wait staff is always nice. probably dine here at least once a month and was our go to take-out for Lent.

They charge an automatic 10% on takeout food without telling you. That is robbery, a 10% tip for someone to hand me my food is ridiculous. I won't be back.

A fun neighborhood place to hang-out. You'd expect to see Norm on a corner counter. Very good and dependable food. Daily specials. Good fish sandwich.

Downey’s House is a local spot with a LOT of charm and amazing food. The Italian rolls are early the best thing on the menu. Service is always great and the bartenders keep the place running with their excellent service and friendliness. T

Love this restaurant! Very friendly staff! Fantastic food with large portions. They make you feel like part of their family. Been coming here for many years. Deck is perfect place to reserve for a family gathering in warm weather.

Food is out if this world. This is the place you want to come. Our family luckily stumbled upon this place in our short stay in Pittsburg. The service was incredible. Wish I could take this restaurant home with me!

Our party of 3 all ordered the special of the Hot Roast Beef sandwich as well as an appetizer of Fried Zucchini. The zucchini was limp and undercooked. The bread on the Roast Beef sandwiches seemed old and was very dry, in which it sucked up the gravy and made the bread very soggy. The potatoes were also thin and runny. The roast beef was good though. Our server however was quite delightful! I was a bit disappointed especially since one of my guests was from Florida

Wow, what a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. I had the Wedge salad with steak, excellent! Best meal all week. I travel a lot. Patrons were also friendly and fun to be around. Definitely I will be back.

This will be a lengthy recount... We've frequented this place well over a hundred times, but tonight's experience has sealed the deal for me, my group, and my personal business. We'll never set foot here again. It all began when we arrived at the bar and requested a table for ten. Understandably, there was a wait given the size of our party. Some of us waited at the bar, while others took seats at a five-person table, and two remained standing. Suddenly, a supposed manager approached, declaring that our arrangement was unacceptable. I apologized and directed the two standing gentlemen to take their seats. Frustrated, I requested the bill, intending to take my business elsewhere. However, the manager urged us to wait and see what could be done. Despite knowing we were waiting, they seated others who had just arrived—a party of seven—despite four open tables nearby. The situation worsened when a top table with booth seating for six opened up, and the seat for four below remained empty for 20 minutes. When I questioned why we weren't being seated together, the person seating tables promised to check with the manager. Upon his return, he claimed they were just about to seat us—a blatant lie. We finally sat, rearranged the tables for a closer arrangement, and placed orders for pepperoni rolls, salads, and potato skins. Soon after, three members of our party needed to leave, so we requested the bill and split it evenly among four credit cards. The discrepancies were minor, but we didn't mind. We started a new tab for drinks, only to be abruptly cut off despite having just one drink each. Three among us hadn't even touched their drinks. This establishment is a farce, plagued by poor management and unprofessional service, with the exception of one exceptional server in training tonight. But that's the only positive thing I can say about this place.

Just come home from a wonderful lunch at the Downey House. This may just be the BEST spot for a lovely lunch with friends? A bridal or baby shower? You name it ! The atmosphere , the quality of the food and the amazing service gives this restaurant a solid A++++

From Washington PA looking for somewhere different to eat, found Downeys House went for my son's 30th birthday and food was very good, atmosphere and service was amazing. Definitely going back!

Friday evening so and it was very busy. Service was a bit slow but our server was hustling the whole time so we can't hold that against her. We ordered pepperoni rolls as an appetizer and then some salads for dinner. Our salads came out and when asked about the rolls she admitted she forgot to put them in but put them in right away. The salads were good, not much chicken on them but were still good. When the rolls came out they were very good. We would eat here again.

Me and my sister have been coming here every other Friday for a while. Food is always great but the service from Kim is amazing. She is awesome. Highly recommend for food and service!!!

We were tired of the main stream restaurants so I Googled for a family atmosphere place to eat near me and Downey' s showed up. My daughters and granddaughters piled in to the car for a girls night out. We loved the happy atmosphere, very friendly service and the best pizza ever. We will be back!!!

The bartenders and waitstaff make it worth getting above average barfood. Try any of the rolls, you'll be happy. Chances are if you ask for something not exactly on the menu they will accommodate. Just go and be happy!

Someone told my husband about this restaurant and we decided to go. We both had a taste for fish and I will tell you that it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Hot, flakey, seasoned to perfection and down right delicious. We will definitely be back. The service was great, the staff was very nice. Can't wait to try other things on the menu!

I was in a class and this place was recommended by someone local and the food was great and the waitress was friendly and gave us some suggestions for the food. Had the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy was awesome.

I went with 3 friends and had a great time I had a burger and fries, they each had a Reuben, a meatloaf volcano and a pepperoni roll. The fries were not greasy and everyone really liked their food. The server was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is upbeat and comfortable. No staff shortages.

But their stuffed hot peppers were definitely the best I’ve had; nice, spicy, and flavorful! Atmosphere is somewhat basic, but it’s welcoming and they play the games on their TVs at the bar. I’ll definitely return!

Food was outstanding. They offer everything from Italian to seafood to sandwiches to even a cheeseburger which was incredible. Service is fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. You need to give them a try.

I nearly always get the Chef Salad when here. Portions are great and the price reasonable. The gal running the bar is always in high gear and friendly. Much better option than fast food down the street.

Sat at the bar, the service was friendly and excellent! The chicken parm was ok, a bit over cooked and dry, pasta side was good. Extra $1. Charge for a slice of dry bread. Not as I remembered from previous visit, it has been a few years. I must have ordered the wrong thing, it was busy and seemed to have a lot of regulars…

One of the family's favorites. Great menu with a variety of choices. Food is always good and fresh. Good friendly service. Even when they are packed everything comes out timely and hot. Take out is same quality.

In a town full of chains, this is definately a local place. Pizza rolls were ok. Not bad, not great. Side salad was pretty generic iceberg Lettuce with shredded cheese. Waitstaff were attentive even though they seemed really busy.

Pasta was great then I went back for nachos that's where I went wrong . Chips are straight out of the bag I was disappointed in that, wanted fresh made.

Everybody was super friendly. Service was excellent. Pepperoni rolls were fantastic. Spinach rolls were fantastic. The horseradish sauce elevated the spinach rolls even more. We will be going back to try other items off the menu.

So glad we tried this place! Pepperoni rolls, Philly cheesesteak, and Italian Wedding soup were all fabulous. Sat on the back patio and enjoyed the fireflies that found their way in.
