Great bar !! the best live music anywhere!!_

I was told to “Shut Up”when I saw the poker dealer lie to a person. Sorry no sleeve guy, but you are the reason why people don’t trust playing the game there anymore. Wouldn’t have happened on my watch. And the owner knows who I am, but I’m not a member of the boys club.

This is our 3rd year being down here and fell in love with this bar the first time we were here..arrived on Wednesday afternoon and that was our first stop...Ashley is a amazing bartender absolutely love her....

I was on vacation visiting my brother and a buddy we found this bar after a few beers on the beach and I have to say the staff and the people here are amazing. I never go to bars and only went because my brother really wanted to go but I'm so glad I went you guys really made the last night of my vacation! Definitely coming back!

Right in the heart of historic bridge street sits this bar where the locals hang out, and tourists get a taste of the simple life.

The Employees are A Whole vibe, the Drinks are Delicious, the tourist and the island people are just fun to be around. That atmosphere is great. It’s the best bar on the island. A must go!!!

The crowd is awesome. The bartenders are definitely on their game. Management is world class. Everyone treats you like they've known you forever. The bingo is extremely fun, not to mention the payouts are great. Drinks are definitely worth the price. Beautiful view as well.

Rude and slow service. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot we are interrogated by parking staff if we are old enough to drink; which is fine until we are asked again multiple times after providing identification. Waited at the bar outside for 10 minutes and watched the bartender avoid allowing me to order. Walked away from the full bar as the only worker there twice during the 10 minutes I waited for a drink. Went down the street to the Tiki Bar on the beach and had a great time with no issues!

Bartender couldn’t explain to me why its a “tiki bar” but they don't have any tiki drinks. He said its the cheapest bar in town a proceeded to sell me a $5 busch light. Staff was rude

Live music!!!! Such a treat! My main complaint is that I was starving and no food was available. They also only take cash so you can't start a tab.

I vacation here every year and thought it would be fun to stop for a drink. There was one “security guard” who felt like he had a power trip and was so incredibly rude. He also appeared to be incredibly intoxicated, slurring his speech trying to cause a scene. I will definitely not be back. There are many other bars on the island I would go before this one. Would not recommend.

I do not recommend this place. The security of this place are so inanely rude and I would not give them a dollar.

I have never felt more disrespected at an establishment. We were there for hours having fun and supporting the business when the “security guard” had to ruin our evening. It was nothing short of disappointment and we will not be back. The “security guard” tried to use his “power” by repeatedly yelling in our face for minding our own business in the outside bar. Even the outside bartender and the other patrons were confused by the behavior of the “security guard”, it was an embarrassing display. I come back to Anna Maria Island every year and will definitely need to reconsider ever visiting this bar because of the Incredibly rude and immature behavior.

BEST place on the island for drinks and late nite fun! Heather is the best bartender on the island, possibly in the entire state of Florida! She creates a fun vibe for everyone who comes and lets the good times roll. Kelli the karaoke host knows everyone’s names and makes sure everyone has a good time. Highly recommended if you’re on vacation for your final stop of the evening!

I have lived in a ton of places, and I can honestly say Heather is the GREATEST bartender EVER! The Drift In feels like home when she is there! She makes every experience magical!!

I love going to bingo at the Drift. The people running the game are great. The bar is laid back and service is top notch. The people attending are fun EXCEPT the guy with the mowhawk that continues to create a hostile environment for his targets of the day. This past week he couldn't stop himself from making homophobic comments after a woman won. It's not the first time he has done this. I don't want to listen to that type of ignorant hate when I'm out having a good time. I see in the prior comments the owner said he would be talked to but it hasn't seemed to help. An employee, even if their off time, should better represent their employer.

I came upon what I thought was this gem of a bar that reminded me of an old school seaside bar, but I was reminded of what kind of trouble these bars could harbor. But before I get to the bad, I feel the positives need to be told first, because they really made this the funnest bar I’ve been into in a long time. First, they have some of the best bartender and service I’ve found in a long time. Ashley was so fun to be around and great service to everyone there. The drink prices are amazing for a bar in a beachside village. They had an afternoon bingo game that they do several times a week that we had a blast playing. Joy was so personable and even had me and my wife laughing and feeling so welcome here. Now, unfortunately for the bad. I hate to have to mention it about this fine establishment, but I feel it’s so heinous I have to bring it up. At the beginning of the bingo games, a young man with a Mohawk haircut stood up and started threatening a black couple in the parking lot for no reason, threatening them he had a gun in his truck and would use it on them if they didn’t get off the property right away. I cannot tolerate this kind of hatred in today’s day and age. I thought I would just address this with the bartenders how disgusted this made me when, but I found out this young man actually works at this establishment. This behavior is completely unacceptable, ESPECIALLY from an employee. This would’ve been a one in a million bar, if it wasn’t for the unpleasantness from this racist, violent employee.

I'm a foul mouthed, high morale , low morals , heavy drinking Former Marine tuned local and this place feels like home. Great bloody Mary's and the prices are great for the Island. Come join the debauchery but bring a set of balls.

Total dive. It's a hit or miss with regards to live music: some bands are good while others are lousy. Mainly southern, older (50+), white crowd. Well stocked bar, limited food offerings. Outdoor and indoor drinking

I have been to this wonderful establishment many times! The one on Cortez more often. I had dinner at the Moose Lodge with two friends. Then we went to the Drift Inn. I’ve never been treated so rudely!! I couldn’t understand it. I was like, I’ve never experienced this here. Then my friend asked if I ever came in with a black woman? I said, “no”. She said, “well get used to this”. I still wasn’t understanding what she was saying. Then the light bulb went off!! It was sad. Really in the year 2023??? I might just buy that bar to burn it to the ground and build a new one! Everything has a price. PS- I was in the restaurant business for 30 years. Chef and bartender. That Grand Marnier bottle was filled with cheap whiskey. It was not Grand Marnier. The liquor commission will visit you soon!

How much fun can you have on bridge street on a Wednesday. It is bingo day and had a great time. Make sure to visit when In the area it is a landmark. Old Florida at its best.

Let’s see where do I start this is a local dive bar. Depends on the person you are as to whether you will like this place or not. In my opinion, there are so many things that could be improved with this place. If you won a night of Mayham, this is the place to go. Karaoke on Tuesday nights is funny. Some people are actually good Saturday night concrete Edgar plays and they are one of the better bands around classic Led Zeppelin style. It is the latest bar open and you will for sure create memories here.

One of yalls bartenders stopped by where I work in the keys and gave me some drink chips, so glad she did this was an amazing stop and hope whoever it was that came by Sam's Hideaway hears I finally made it up here to check out your bar!

First time back in the island in years.

Babe Ruth may have once owned this bar. Local lore says the Babe bought it after being shut off and kicked out during a night on the town during spring training. I can only think the Babe must’ve been hammered beyond belief, because it takes a lot to get thrown out of this bar!One of the great dive bars in the country. Patient & witty bartenders, excellent musicians, bar poker and karaoke that’ll make you groan. Drift In and deal with it!! Ross loves this place and who am I to disagree?

Towed my friends car. After drinking a few cocktails, we took a walk out on the pier. Came to have another cocktail before leaving. $300 later, she got her car back. Will never go back.

I would give it -5 stars if I could. HORRIBLE bar, unbelievably rude staff. I was shocked by the behavior of the bartender. We were in town for a bachelorette party and the bartender verbally assaulted the bride-to-be over ordering a drink and trying to pay for her drink with card. When the bride-to-be tried to walk to the ATM to get cash out to pay (cash only bar), the bartender viciously yelled at her and caused a huge scene. The bartender then tried to physically grab her by the hair. We also heard the bartender is a 2nd grade teacher…. Really hard to believe. We heard they towed other customers in their parking lot to make room for new customers. Screw this place and all the people who go there. They are creepy anyway.

I visited this bar on my bachelorette trip and had the worst experience. To start, I was sitting at the bar to order a drink for 2 minutes and I was told by a “local” and the bartender that I needed to “get up that’s her seat.” I hadn’t paid yet, but was told to move and while trying to find a spot to get to the bar and pay, the bartender screamed that they were cash only, so I went to find the ATM. As I was walking to the ATM, the bartender chased me down accusing me of “she’s taking my drink, she’s taking my alcohol!” I gave her my $5 cash and couldn’t find the exit quick enough. Between the rude locals and bartenders, I had the worst time and quite frankly didn’t feel safe here. I was hoping for good local island vibes, and this place put a bad taste in my mouth.

Im in town for my dads birthday visiting. I’m 9 months pregnant and I was in the bar waiting for a water when I felt a sudden flood of water down my legs. I was aggressively/violently told to stop making a mess and to clean it up myself. (Handed me a bucket & mop) I tried to explain my water just broke but I was escorted out into a police car. How traumatic. My poor baby boy was born in a cop car, and he will never understand why.

Treat you like family. I home there open when we get there on October 15th because of the hurricane.

Love this place, non smoker here but love the fact there's smoking allowed. Glad there's places that don't restrict people because of their addiction. Prices are awesome and bartenders are quick.

Wouldn’t get a single star. Rudest bartender and most miserable person I’ve ever met. Blocked in against the fence, before I can ask for help and possibly get a drink, she is yelling at myself and my other two companions. Said we were liars and were driving either a bike or golf cart. Manager needs to keep a shorter leash on this rude staff before more people decide that they obviously do not need the business.

Rudest bartender ever. Literally began screaming at me about where we parked at- that it was rude to block people in. In actuality, WE were the ones blocked in looking for the driver behind us so we could leave. THEN had the audacity to tell me i was lying- that we drove something different, And continued to scream and bob her head. An old lady there tried explaining why she was so worked up, and the bartender talked over her continuing to tell me what it was that we drove. Bartender looks at my friend, asks what car we r driving since she for some reason didn’t believe me, gets the man that parked behind us, and we left. She didn’t know who we were, where we came from, what it was we wanted, and why we were approaching the bar. She immediately accused, screamed, and told me I was lying out of nowhere. Hope she finds what she is missing in her life that has made her so ignorant and rude, but the business unfortunately is suffering for it in the meantime!

Very friendly customer service just not much liquor to choose from very very slim variety of wine and cocktail mixers mainly their stock consisted of liquor and beer.

This is a NO FRILLS bar. Alot of locals hang here along with tourist. It's cash only and prices are on point to every other bar in the area. Always have a good time with the different assortment of people that drift in and out all day long. It's my favorite bar on Anna Maria Island!!

Classic old school spot on the AMI. Outdoor venue with bar poker and situated for great people watching. Felt like a locals hangout, classic neighborhood whole in the wall in a good way. Only downside is it was very smokey as owner allows for smoking everywhere both inside and outside.

Booze is nearly 2x the price as elsewhere. Waited 5 minutes to get the clerk to ring me up (no line) only to discover that they don't even take credit cards... They'll direct you to an atm but the ATM in their store has a $5 fee (no doubt they get part of it!) Go elsewhere if you can!!!!
