The food was hot when we got it. The chicken was a little dried out. It was a half an hour wait outside at the window service, where there's only one little bench for everybody to sit on. It's stunk really bad outside. The waitresses were very young and we're constantly eating food and running around with each other giggling the whole time they were taking your order and not doing anything else to hurry your order along. They also had to ask for my order three different times because they kept forgetting it. There must have only been one person working in the kitchen because it took forever.

Called to place a pick up order 35 minutes before they close and the lady tells me they are closed on a Friday night. I wanted 2 burgers.

I remember back in the day me and my youngest son used to pull down the window every time we pass this restaurant we always be ready to smell the food

The pub burger was pretty good, but I won't remember it and everyone's fries were cold. What I will remember is how dirty the entire restaurant is, there was a dead fly smashed on a picture frame, directly next to our face, the floor is just gross. That being said, I'm ok with a dive being a little rough around the edges, but this was just over the line. Our waitress was polite and got the job done but when she was busy, she was clearly stressed and unable to maintain that politeness. Lastly, there were two young girls who kept making fun of customers after hanging up the phone with them. This is just poor taste and not the business' fault that these girls chose to behave like that, but ultimately they are representing the business being front of the house. I see why people like it, especially with the nostalgia aspect, but we won't be back unfortunately.

Can't beat the milk shakes @ Ed's Restaurant aka #TasteeFreeze to us locals ! Its been around for 3 generations, just ❤ this place!

This place is BOMB!!! Taylor and Marie are very friendly and knowledgeable of the good food they serve..... I recommend the BLT Sandwich 🥪 it is SCREAMING!!!!!

The place is very small-townish, and the service/ambiance is good, but the Hawaiian milkshake I ordered was horrible. The coconut tasted old, and the cherry was overpowering. Would not buy that milkshake ever again.

Great burger joint!!! There are other things on the menu. I'll have to try them another day. But the burgers were great! We each had different fries. There are like four different ones, tots crinkle, regular and small tater wedges sprinkled with seasoning. All great. Lots of parking but a little tight. Do t try to pull a trailer into the parking lot.

Absolutely Amazing!!! Biggest, best burgers I've ever had. Only a U.P. Michigan bar comes close. Choice of potatoes was impressive and, wow, excellent! The bathrooms may have been outside because the building was so old, but the people were as nice as you could ask for ❣️

Country fried steak was 2 very thin small fried patties. They were rubbery and didn't taste good.

I order there wing's my family really enjoy them with crinkle cut fries.They also have awesome milk shakes all flavors love the cherry. My order was did wrong of few times but the owner really goes out his way to make it right, he the owner even re-cooked my food an brought it to my home he really made it right an me an my family really appreciate that, because that means he really care an it's not all about the money an it's about the service an my family have been eating from Ed's long as I can remember thank you for making it right your awesome.

Price not worth the food quality. Server was rude to the point we didn't leave a tip for the first time ever, which we always do no matter the service. This place microwaves things in styrofoam and doesn't care about the customer. I know everyone is gonna say it, the milkshakes are good. Cool. I don't care, I'm not going back there, not even for a shake. Their chicken fried steak is from frozen and gross. Save your money and take a trip up the road to Westville if you want good southern food, bigger and better sandwiches for less, REAL chicken fried steak, and better attitudes where people act right. The server was completely unprovoked, and I'm between gen-z and millennial, so you know I'm not lying when I tell you that. I had to watch my mom's heark break more and more as things kept getting worse. She didn't even get to eat, and she's the one who took us out. I feel so bad.

Decent fresh made burgers and fries-among other things. Prepare to wait at times. And, if ordering to go, check your order before you leave

We love Ed's, especially the Pub bacon cheeseburgers with the sour cream and chive fries.

So ... we have been visiting eds for many years and my family has been going for 20+ years. We have seen different employees come and go and have over all really enjoyed eds tasty freeze. One of the last time I went I picked up a to-go order for my daughter , wife and myself. When I got home the fries were left out and the burgers were a little burnt. No big deal and with how busy they are all the time mistakes happen. Ever once in a while when the food needs re cooked or is somehow wrong we have felt like a burden by asking for it to be redone. This time I called In and explained the situation and Caroline displayed some of the best customer service I have seen from there in a Long time. Not only did she NOT make us feel like a burden she had our food back out in a gif and opologised for the mistake. She recognized me before I even walked to the window and was ready to take care of her customer. It's very rare now days to see customers taken care of in smaller businesses like she handled things. I am a general manager at a large powersport dealership so customer service is something I do every day. Great job Caroline!

Great little place odd the beaten path, food was outstanding , hot and fresh, the homemade ranch dressing was amazing

It’s unfortunate having workers there that don’t care about customer service. Stopped going months back and decided to try it again. Reminded us how bothered the workers feel. Took my order over the phone yet when we picked up half the order missing and although they close at 9 and called order in at 6:45 to pick up at 7:30, they notified us they are not cooking certain items anymore at this hour, aka onion rings. Kept sighing being bothered we expected something in replacement. Handed us a banana split to hold while we waited for our food order….. can you not make that the last item you fix. So again, we will take business elsewhere. Customer service has been to the most extreme poorest. Sad and unfortunate from what ED’S use to be to what it is now

This places is not as good as it was years ago Ordered a banana split got home an no banana so sad that the places has gone down hill an the kids that they have running the place suck will not be back I will be going to sonic before I go there at least I know that I’ll get

Hometown feel. Juicy burgers. Loved the slaw. Service was great!

The downside here is parking and speed of meal when busy but for overall experience we do enjoy coming here!

Stopped to pick up to-go breakfast on the way home from the beach. Simple diner food but SO delicious. Best chicken biscuit we've ever had. Perfect bacon, egg, and cheese sammie. Kid loved the sausage biscuit. Hashbrowns were perfect. Better than waffle house. Customer service was great. Very friendly.

Ate here again and disappointed again, the chicken fingers were thin, flat as pancakes and the hamburger was ok but not anywhere as good as it used to be. I also recently made a pickup order over the phone, she said it'll be ready in 15 minutes. I get there and they said I don't have an order. I have nothing but problems with this place, it's always something.

Ed's never disappoints!!! If I could get over there more often, I definitely would...but it is always a treat! Great food, friendly atmosphere, wonderful staff!!

Service was good, food was ok. Onions were put the cheese burger when asked to leave then off. Almost everything has an up charge, which with the price of food makes sense.

I would give less if I could. Horrible service! For one we were told 15 mins and 30 mins later my order was never even put in!! What kind of service is that? Couldn’t even give us our drinks first even though it’s super hot outside. I will not be back

An excellent stop for a local experience. The claim that they are the Home of the Pub Burger is still in question, but it's a great burger.

Always a great atmosphere here. If the food isn't right, which does happen when serving full reasturaunts anywhere they make sure to fix it professionally and efficiently.

We were greated so kindly here. I was very impressed. There milkshakes are out of this world. They bring the boys to the yard.

The food was really good and the service was friendly . The only negative is that both times we went, the waitresses never came back to the table to check on us. Other than that, we will go back.

Due to lack of choices in town they are one of the best but that makes it extremely busy and loud all the time this a post edit the service is exceptional except the one lady with tattoos and piercing she is lazy I do not recommend she will only take you order and bring you the check she is useless as a server she will not come back and check on the table that experience has happened more than once now with the same server she sucks!!! Everyone else is Great

Food and milkshake is great but the girls out front… they have some NASTY NASTY attitudes.. for no reason at all.

Great small town restaurant. I've been dining here since I was a little girl. Now I bring my granddaughter. There might be a wait during peek hours as it is a popular place.

Great place in so many ways. People are home friendly. Food is good as home cooking, except you don't have to cook or cleanup. Many frozen treats for dessert if you have room.

Ed’s has been in a sharp decline for years now. The reigns need to be pulled back on the children running the creamery. They are shockingly rude and only helping to further accelerate the decline. It’s sad really, used to be the best burger in town. At this point, we have been disappointed too many times for the lack of quality control, freshness, friendliness, and price to be a patron of Ed’s anymore. The price has continued to climb but the quality has continued to decline.

This place was packed when we showed up. And I can definetly see why. Great burgers and great fries. I didn’t try the shakes but man everyone else around us was ordering them so I can only imagine what I missed out on. Fortunately I have family in this town. And hopefully in the near future I can come by this place again

Normally, the pub burgers are outstanding. It's what I always order. This time, it wasn't. I was up most of the night with stomach issues. Sorry guys, you can do better.

Nice little joint providing simple fare that is time tested and delicious. I highly recommend a shake, pub burger, and the fries. Absolutely delicious and worth the wonderfully low price.

Thank goodness my Brother lives in Destin and invited us here the day we left for home from the beach. This place is classic Americana! Their burgers could compete for best burger in the USA and probably win. Just perfection with every bite! Thanks Ed! The chocolate peanut butter milkshake with hot fudge sauce was a little over the top!!!!

Had dinner here on a long road trip. Don't waste your time looking around the menu...order the burger that has the local, fresh, never frozen beef. Excellent. Madison was our server...excellent. Guided us on a path to great choices!

Excellent milkshakes. Strawberry had real fruit in it. Enough good food for a reasonable price.

First off this little hole-in-the-wall doesn’t look like much, but the food is good, as attested by the locals who gather here. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Prices are equal to the quality. That being said, I got the Southwestern Burger combo (includes fries and a drink) for $15. This burger is fairly thick and only fresh-made when ordered, hence the wait. But it is juicy and filling. Fries were standard matchstick and cooked perfectly, not too crispy or dry. Didn’t get to try dessert or a milkshake but it’s on my to-do list for next time. Thank you Ed’s!

This is a hit or miss. We love lunch and the cole slaw is to dye for. Staff is great, but so far breakfast stinks.

On our trip, we had the opportunity to have breakfast there twice.

We just got home from ed s.and first time thr my wife and I was shocked.swear to GOD,best cheeseburger we have had since 1982 from Elmer's in wyandotte. Michigan. We can't wait to get thr for breakfast.p.s. wife loved banna shake. Can't stop mouth from watering.

For home cooking, you can’t beat Ed’s! The portions are generous and tasty, not to mention freshly made. I especially recommend the lunch specials (meat + 3), cornbread and desserts. Breakfast is made to order and plentiful. This is a classic home town diner, so don’t expect luxurious surroundings, just good food and super friendly staff.

The good is always good and the people are down home and ready to help you with anything! My pawpaw loved this place and it's still one of my favorites! I've dined in and grabbed at the window and I'm telling ya , it's a treat!

Got the name wrong after being told 3 times was missing a drink and two sides had to wait for the food gave me the food then I had to wait for the drinks by the time I got home food was cold very poor service would not recommend I won't be back don't deserve a star!!!!!!!!!!!

OK I’m not one to leave a lot of reviews but the grilled chicken sandwich was absolutely horrible, For a grilled chicken sandwich an onion ring And a large shake was over $20 without the tip, to have all your food prepared for by a bunch of teenagers. Honestly, I hate to say this just go to Chick-fil-A you’ll save money and the food will be good and at a better price.

Place is a typical side of the road quick stop - nothing fancy. Staff is nice. Got a Philly cheesesteak to go but it was too salty to eat - odd because the fries didn't have any salt on them. I would have brought it all back if I was close but I was 30 minutes away before I tried anything. Sandwich was just really... damp ... or something- dripping with I don't know what but I had to wrap it in paper towels for a while before I could pick it up. Put the salt on the fries and leave it off the grill. And not for nothin' - no napkins nor salt or pepper or ketchup in the bag ?!?!

Another awesome hole in the wall establishment that graces our area with awesome food, friendly people and wonderful service. We will be back, even if only for the best onion rings we've had in a decade.

A Defuniak Springs tradition, Ed's is an old school "hamburger joint." However, they do offer breakfast and meat & 3 for lunch. The burgers are fantastic & you don't want to miss the onion rings. Save room for a shake...you won't be disappointed!
