Im so lucky to have this restaurant so close. My fav are the Pupusas. Deelish!!

Drove 30, 40 min for Pupusas. And totally pleased! Welcoming, attentive, lively atmosphere, and very clean. ❤️Love the food diversity of my little country❤️ next time I will have to try something from Nicaragua and Honduras. Had a minute communication mishap on my part with the waitress but not disappoint at all. Ended up with double Pupusas -had never even heard of them (they were delicious) Ordered 10 regular sized Pupusas de chicharron con queso to take back home for the family. Looking forward to next time. Thanks for the awesome experience ☺️

Food and atmosphere were great! Delicious pupusas! Service was good, considering how busy it was. Will definitely be going back. Their passion fruit agua fresca was the best!

Wowwwww! William was such a great help! As first time visitors, we weren't sure what we should try, we had great guidance from William. We also tried the Pupusas, not pictured because I started eating them before I realized I forgot to take the photo🤣 highly recommend trying everything! The salsas and French fries were also delicious. Can't wait to go back

I ordered the Nicaragua carne asada plate. The flavors are unique and very flavorful. The plate consists of red beans and rice. The waiter stated a carrot and cabbage mixer was intended to be mixed with the red beans and rice which I did not like- to much vinegar. Plantain chips, and a sweet plantain fried portion. This plate was large enough to share. I also ordered a Salvadorian pupusa revuelta which was top noch. It came with a mildly vinegar mixture of cabbage and carrots---> so tasty. The dessert : plantain empanada was stuffed with a rice pudding and topped with sugar. This was ok I highly recommend this place

I wanted to try a different place today. Searched in google and this place popped up. I was very undecided, but the waiter recommended the chancho asado plate. Considering I love pork, I went for it, and it didn’t disappoint, everything was very flavorful and delicious. From the plantains to the rice and bean mixture. Along with the vinegar coleslaw. It was totally new to me, and I was pleased. My child had a nugget plate, and he complained of them being dry, so I shared my meat pork meat with him, and he loved it as well. I tried a pc of a chicken tender and agreed , but I’m not sure if that’s just how they make their chicken nuggets tenders. The only complaint I have was not receiving a receipt at the end, because my total came out to be a bit more than I was expecting even after adding things up. The reason they said, was the internet being out, which didn’t make sense considering my card payment went through on the square card reader. But aside from that. The food was good, and the service as well as recommendation was great

The cook really have talent, food taste and feel clean.

Amazing, authentic, delicious salvadoreño pausas are at this location. Will definitely be coming back. The salsas are also on point! If you are on the fence come try this place out. Also a very clean establishment.

Got the sampler plate everything was over fried. The only thing I ate were the rice and beans. Half of my empanada because it was burned too. Told the waitstaff. They didn’t care.

How good to have another option for the Nicaraguan community. The nacatamal is very rich.

Delicious central American dishes. I recommend the pupusas and tamales. Just keep an eye on your bill. I was overcharged. They could use a friendly waitress.

Central American food isn't my jam. Too bland. Just wanted to give it a try. Quite a few people were there so I'm guessing it's good for the type of food it is. Small restaurant. Tables are tight. Portions are small but the prices match, so that's a good point.

What a joy to have re-found El Buen Paladar. My husband discovered this pupuseria when they were still selling their delicious pupusas in their food truck (like in 2008). She loved making a family order and getting to enjoy her pupusas at home. After thinking that the pupuseria had closed, my daughter discovered that a restaurant had opened. Today in memory of my husband who passed away a couple of months ago, we enjoyed some pupusas in his honor and confirmed the authenticity of the Salvadoran flavor. Additionally, the seasoning of the Salvadoran Plate and the order of tacos that my grandchildren enjoyed was liked by the whole family.

I ordered a Torta, and it was delicious. The truck is a little hidden because it is behind a corner store, but if you are using Google maps there should not be any issue finding the place.

We had several plates here, flautas, enchiladas verdes, nacatamales etc and wow delicious food l. You can’t find the quality of food anywhere else. Definitely our family’s new spot.

Went here this afternoon around 3 and unfortunately they were out of all the pupusas except for the loroco with cheese or the plain cheese pupusas. Not a big deal, their pupusas are always great and tasty. The asada tacos were a little dry and disappointing so I personally won't be ordering those again. I also ordered a fresh lemonade which they forgot to give me and I didn't realize until we were almost home :( next time please give the drinks out ahead of time while still at the register. Other than that I honestly have no complaints and I would definitely be back.

When they had the food truck we always tried to stop there because the scrambled pupusas were always delicious. Since they have the restaurant the quality has dropped a lot, I know that the price goes up because of how things are but the quality should not change. The last two times I have ordered cassava with chicharrón they have given me more cassava than anything else, today for example I only had 6 pieces of chicharrón and 12 of cassava. Apart from that I felt that this dish was reheated and was not fresh. The pupusas were delicious but some were crumbly and the others had a lot of dough... Don't lower the quality of the food because that's the only thing that makes you pay whatever it takes, but if the quality goes down and the price goes up, it's not worth it.

We were visiting San Antonio, TX and we wanted to eat Salvadoran food and we found two restaurants and we couldn't decide which one and one was 10 minutes away and the other 28 minutes away and we decided on El BUEN PALADAR Restaurant, it was 28 minutes away but it was worth it. It's worth the distance, the food is super delicious, the service is very friendly. The truth is, I would return again, it's a shame that I live in Dallas. Recommended, I give it a score of one of 💯 👌

Most of the food was good. My only issue was that the meet was tough.. Otherwise, the staff and everything else was spectacular.

We decided to try this restaurant on a whim one Sunday and just got takeout. It was SO GOOD! I’ve come back a few of times now and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and they are quick with their food production. My favorite dish is the mini tacos!

I had high hopes but the tacos were so tiny and seemed old? I gave the food 2 stars bc the tortillas were alright not too bad but they barely put meat in them and they were sold out of so many things at barley 12pm didn’t even put salsa in the bag

Good is gross. Tortillas were extremely soggy and mushy . The lady at the drive through took my order , she was extremely rude and she had me waiting for 10 minutes when there was no other orders so then another guy took my order and they still got it wrong. Food is way to overpriced for the quality. Would not recommend.

Food portions are insane! Love the authenticity

We saw this location while driving. It is at a newer shopping plaza, and it is not too common cuisine, so we decided to try it. There were tables when we walked in. We were greeted with smiles. The location is clean. The menu is straightforward, with offerings from different Central/ South american countries, including Mexican. The food was good. The grilled pork was a favorite along with the fried sweet plantains. The fried cheese was pleasant too.

This was our first time here, and our food was delicious and fresh. We had a chicken papusa, chicken empandadas, and a pastor torta. The lemonade was also delicious. Although the food was great, the service was not the best. We were never greeted by our waitress and never once checked on during our meal. For being our first time here, it's not the best first impression with the service. We will definitely give it another try, and hopefully, the service will be better.

We just had a great lunch at El Buen Paladar. I had the Carne Desmenuzada and my husband had Pollo En Salsa de Jalapeno. We also shared a Pollo con Queso Puposa. The food was flavorful, the portion sizes were good, and the prices were good. We will be returning soon.

I always leave with a happy stomach. Food is delicious!!

Luckily, I ate at El Buen Palador yesterday afternoon, and I must admit the food was amazing. In addition to great food and service, the manager, Fausto, was very personable. I will definitely go back. You should give them a try as well.

Food was good. Different than I had expected. But the menu was confusing-- I ordered by using the numbers at the drove through and ended up with something completely different-- still ate it and like I said it was good but it wasn't what I thought I had ordered. -- so I guess order by name and not by number.

The food is delicious, but paying almost 30 dollars per person seems very expensive.

These guys have THE BEST Food!! Tastes so home cooked. The best part is it reminds me of the food from back home (South America). They have to work a lil bit on their breakfast items but lunch is OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD!

My husband went for food, they did not give him his complete order, they told us that when we returned they would give us what they forgot and when we went they did not do it, that is terrible, we paid for it

Ordered the 4 pastor mini street tacos with beans for take out. Beans were good but tacos were okay. Literally gave me a spoonful of meat, cilantro and raw onions. Definitely not worth how much they charge and you’re better off going to one of the food trucks in the area.

This place is wonderful, food is always fresh and flavorful. You will not be disappointed.

This is voted my family new Central American food spot in San Antonio! Amazing service, amazing food, and if you by chance lose your wallet… they hold it for you and try to even message you on Facebook to help you retrieve it. I let the employee know that this was going to be our new favorite spot before we lost said item. We love it here, no doubt!!!!!!

The food was delicious. Menu has selections from Honduras, Salvador, Nicaragua, and Mexico. Great experience! Will be back with our kids. One meal between $10-15 feeds two people. Next time, I will share my meal with someone. Portions are generous, and the price is affordable. No alcohol drinks from what I could see, but they do have horchata water.

This food was amazing I came in here and as soon as I took my first bite I realized the Mexican restaurant next door will be losing all of its buisness soon. I ate so fast i had to take a quick break before finishing. They also give you very American portion sizes. With very authentic Central American flavors. I loved it and am coming again next week.

The food is always 11/10 at El Buen Paladar! I had the pollo/queso and frijol/queso pupusas topped with a generous amount of curtido. Sooooo delicious, as well as the plátano con crema. 😋 I also enjoy their carne asada plates, both versions Salavadorian and Nicaragüense are flavorful. Their aguas are super refreshing, especially the Maracuya (passion fruit)… my favorite. Clean and beautiful restaurant, with friendly staff.

The pupusas were pretty good, I enjoyed these very much. The aguas are very sweet, Jamaica was mainly water and sugar only. We had taken a long drive to get to this place and were not pleased with the service. Initially the curly haired girl that helped us out took the order perfectly fine but towards the end of her shift she was rushing us to finish our dish. We were a family of 7, with my great aunt joining us. She took the dishes right under us because she was clocking out at 3 and it was close to the time. She kept going to our table and asking if we were done, no refills offered, and she had somewhat of an attitude. Who knows, maybe she needed to be somewhere. They should have a different way of handling tables that are given to waitresses that have to leave at a certain time. We go out to eat to enjoy the time at a place, not to be rushed out. I think if I go back it’ll be to go.

For those of you looking for some good pupusas, or just good food in general, this is the place. Family owned and operated. They are new to this location, but have been around for many years. A must try.

I love the food at this restaurant. They are still getting settled and don't have enough wait staff. They make up for this 100 times over in the food. The nacatamales are DELICIOUS. The carne asada and pupusas DELICIOUS. I highly recommend this restaurant. The prices are very reasonable.

Great food and great and friendly Service

Ordered the fajitas, chicken and beef mixed. Whole pinto beans and instead of rice I asked for the pickled slaw salad. And it came with 2 homemade flour tortillas. Flavor of the fajitas were really good! The pickled slaw with every bite made them exceptional! The pinto beans had a very good flavor also. The chef, and I think owner, came to ask us if we liked our meal. Service was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean and looked well kept. Definitely coming back. They also have weekday specials.

3.75/ Pupusa seems a little too expensive. In my experience, the pupusas were flavorless, I could only test the dough, and I ordered 3 different flavors. And all tested like dough more than anything else. First time trying this place. The service was good. But it lacks in flavor and does not justify the price.

I usually get the pupusas con frijol or the three breakfast taco potato and egg. They are both excellent. The aguas frescos are really good. I don't get them because it's a lot :)

We loved this place when it was just a food truck and so happy to see them have their own restaurant. We went for the pupusas and loved every single one we ordered. Jalapeño con queso are my favorite but my 1 and 2 year old daughters loved the pupusas de frijoles con queso. The owner also gave my daughter a free apple juice. Such a caring family that runs this restaurant and we’ll be forever customers.

This place is such a gem! The food is fresh and the place is clean and nicely decorated. I come here at least twice a month. If you haven’t tried it you should!

I feel like if I leave too good a review then people are gonna flock this place and I'm going to lose it as my spot. Man, this food is too good. Their jugos are delicious as well. Any of the pupusas is highly recommended, we get a variety every time and all the encurtido and salsas are delicious. They even inspired me to make some pupusas and its def an art to get the masa mixture right and form the pupusas.

The flavor has changed drastically since there previous location, still good but not as flavorful as they were before.

So happy that we have this spot by our house now! We needed something JUST like this. Such great Salvadoran food! Lots of different things to try. Great prices! Service was quick and super friendly open to any questions. Extremely clean with cool art. We had the Papusas (chicken con queso, jalapeño con queso, and frijoles con queso) they were so good! The tortillas were great and the cheese was so melty and just perfect! Great comfort food…also has the Horchata Salvadorena (horchata con ground sesame) which is home made fresh (not a mix). The chips and salsa verde were great too! We will be back to try more!

We stopped to order a few Pupusas to go from here earlier this week. They were super good and tasted exactly like a traditional Mexican Gordita! Would highly recommend the bean and cheese as well as their jalapeno and cheese but they had a couple of other things that I would mind trying! Worth the stop if you're in the area and adventurous on wanting to try new foods!

I ordered 4 pupusas and it took 30 minutes to get it, they forgot about my order and I had to ask 2 times before I could even get it. Not to mention the prices are not “$” more like $$-$$$. Very disappointed.

Ordered the salvadorian Carne asada for $15 said it comes with white rice and beans well it was colored brown rice instead with beans in it I don't think that was correct. For some reason it appears on the menu that rice and beans would be separate and rice wasn't white. Also they put the charge of what bank charges them on the customer as a service fee to use debit/credit card then they put the tax. So many people use debit/credit rather than carry cash you would think places would stop charging the customer these fees and instead just raise the price menu to compensate for these service charges.

I definitely recommend the best pupusas 🫓 in SA. Great food Great Service you won’t regret!
