Amazing wine and atmosphere. I'm not sure if the sweet lady letting me sample was the owner or just a sweet lady but she is the true definition of southern hospitality. I plan to return for a festival on Oct 5th thanks to her recommendation.

Absolutely amazing dinner! Server was very attentive and made excellent recommendations. Sea bass and salmon were cooked to perfection. We will most definitely be returning. By far the best restaraunt in Batesville and Greensburg area.

Absolute 10/10. The wine tasting is however many you request to taste. We had such a great experience that we stayed for dinner (in most cases it requires a reservation) and the ribeye was AMAZING. We’ve been to most steakhouses in Indianapolis and this ribeye beats all of them, hands down. Terri, the lady that did the wine tastings, was so knowledgeable and so personable. This woman didn’t know a stranger and made the experience enjoyable. You must stop in and try this place. It’s the definition of a hidden gem.

First time, worth the drive and experience!! The food is amazing, The wine is amazing! I highly recommend a trip to this winery, call for a reservation to make sure you have a place. Tastings are free, no limit! The staff was very nice and Informative.

Went on Mother’s Day expecting to eat breakfast items but they only served from what looked like the dinner menu. Food was good, service a little slow due to amount of business

Filet was excellent and hostess was amazing. Found a new favorite wine (blackberry).

I ordered the bourbon glazed salmon, and it was absolutely divine. The glaze didn't take away from the delicate flavor of the salmon, the grill marks added a pleasant smoky surprise. For a sid I got a baked potato, inside was all musy and just the perfect texture.

Recently renovated interior, dining room has large windows looking into the wine brewing room, beautiful scenery around the restaurant, free wine tasting and they have 18 different wines many of which are made from grapes grown right there on the property. There were no vegetarian main dish options on the menu, but the server spoke with the cook and made a fantastic pasta for me.

Every dish we had was BLAND! For the price of around $26 a plate we expected some flavor. The chicken marsala...bland, balsamic grilled chicken...bland, the chicken and shrimp pasta...bland, the green beans we not only bland but stringy! It's sad when you pay that much money and you could go to Taco Bell and pay a fraction of that and actually get food that tastes good. We wont be going back.

Beautiful winery quietly tucked away in the rural area of Batesville IN. Great food, amazing staff, and awesome wine. GM (Terri) and owner (Tom) had some free time and took us on a private tour of the facility and the wine making process. Amazing time. Wine tasting is FREE (don't forget to tip)! Make some time for this gem, you won't regret it!

We have been going to Ertels for a long time. The service and food have been very good in the past. The last few times we have been there the service and food have not been very good. Our sandwiches were very low quality not worth the price. Will not recommend to people any longer.

Food was delicious. Service was excellent. I did not pay for my meal (it was a company function) but the pricing on the menu seemed very fair for the portion size and the quality. I would definitely consider this for an anniversary dinner/lunch or any fine dining occasion. I don't partake in alcohol but my wife loves the blueberry wine.

Had Thanksgiving dinner here, it was extremely sub par for the restaurant!! I have eaten hereany time and always excellent, however, the Thanksgiving giving diner was terrible to say the least. Stuffing was dry and looked like stop top box stuffing no gravy to help it out, prime rib was thin and over half was fat, mashed potatoes was dry. I was so disappointed that it will be a while before I will return. I hate to review it this way but it was terrible.

I called at 2 pm for reservations. I left a message for Brian ext. 102 as I was told to do. Since I did this I figured the reservation was made. We drove an hour and a half. When we arrived we were told we had no reservation and we don't look at the messages downstairs. They did try to sit us out on the porch "maybe" but we weren't dressed to sit outside with no heat. They didn't allow us to get appetizers to take to the tent. The hostess was not even sure if there was food at the tent. So I have nothing good to say about this establishment.

We had a great time at Ertel Cellars. Terri was so nice and we even had an impromptu tour. The atmosphere was amazing and our server Michael was wonderful. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend a trip if you haven’t been.

Very good place to go. A bit pricey, and last time I gave 5 stars. This time, they were out of the appetizer we wanted, my husband's burger was a hockey puck, and my salmon was not $28 worth. BUT.... they let us in while they were busy without a reservation...and they made my husband a new burger that was delicious!! Everyone is very kind and hard working there. We will go back for sure.

Nice selection of wines, staff was courteous. Loved the metal work at the bar. The winery is in the back of the restaurant and can be viewed out the window. Location on a dry day would make for a great afternoon.

Nice atmosphere , awesome filet mignon and salmon . I love the patio that overlooks the vineyard . Of course , you must try the local made wine . My favorite is the blueberry !

This is a wonderful hidden gem in the middle of Indiana! We walked through the vineyards, and sampled lots of wines. Everything is well- priced, the wine tasting is free, and the food and service at the restaurant were superb. I'm looking forward to returning here again.

Showed up and no one helped us. Called over 5 times to get reservations no one answered the phone. We left and won’t ever go back.

Went for Sunday breakfast. Two had omelets, with fried potatoes, they were ok. The hit of the table were the breakfast bowls. Three eggs over potatoes with gravy. Another hit was the donut holes. 7 large donut holes with powder sugar. They went fast. We also had two plates of two cinnamon rolls. They had tons of frosting but were way too small. The dining room is large and open with plenty of room for large parties. You can overlook the winery. Their wines are excellent and a great addition to a fine meal.

Service was exceptional and the food/wine was delicious. I had the breakfast bowl, it was a healthy portion.

We had a wonderful time at Ertel Cellars Winery. We started off our visit with some wine tasting then moved on for an outstanding dinner. The wait staff was very nice and polite and did an outstanding job taking care of us. Our meals were so good and tasty. The prices were fair and the atmosphere was nice as well. We would highly recommend visiting if you are considering. I know the next time we are in the area we'll be visiting again.

First time visit and we had a great lunch. Our server was excellent. Nice variety on the menu. Nice grounds with decent wines.

If you like cherry wine you should try theirs. I'm pretty sure that schmidts bakery in Batesville uses their cherries to make their once a year cherry thing a lings

We were there Friday night. The lobster bisque was so salty, I had to send it back. Our appetizer was served AFTER our salad. I ordered the balsamic glazed chicken sandwich with tomato, mozzarella and fresh basil- basil was absent and the chicken had NO glaze! My husband had the grouper- the serving was so small and dried out, he couldn’t finish it and the baked potato was still hard! Great service, but lousy food - will not be back! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON FOOD!

This is one of the best vineyards around! Worth the drive! The dining is always top notch!! The service is spot on!! The setting is beautiful!! Tom the owner is always helpful! Brian the winemaker is the best around! Grab a bottle and glass and walk around the vineyard grounds! We Will be back again and again!

We loved our wine tasting with Terri. She was great. Knew about the wines. Gave good recommendations. She was heading up the wine tasting, taking orders, bringing food to tables and still provided excellent, prompt, professional and personalized service. After our tasting, we decided to have a little bite to eat. Onion soup and Caesar salad good as well.

It’s much more of a restaurant than it is a winery, which I was not expecting. They appeared to have a separate area for wine tasting that wasn’t being utilized. The hostess seemed surprised we didn’t have reservations, but it was a Wednesday at noon. And my husband and I were far more interested in wine tasting than lunch. But we had to order lunch if we wanted a wine tasting, so we did. Our waitress was nice, but provided no information on how the wine tastings worked. I say this because usually most places will tell you “it’s so many tastes for x amount of dollars”. We were served the wine in small plastic cups, with no descriptions of the wine. But when you leave wine tasting to a waitress, that’s to be expected. The food was good, and the views were beautiful, but overall, for a winery in the middle of southern Indiana, it came off as quite pretentious. If you’re just looking for a spot to eat, I highly recommend. For a winery, you’ll want to stop elsewhere.

Great place for a meal and wine. The staff are always welcoming. This is truly a hidden gem.

When my wife and I travel, we always like to try some local wineries. This time, it was Ertel Cellars. We're glad we did. Initially, we were going to try just the samples, but it quickly blossomed into appetizers and a glass of wine as well. In addition to the dozen or so samples (between the two of us), we got the fried calamari and crab cake. The calamari was lightly breaded and had a remoulade drizzled on it. Even with the drizzle, they were crispy and delicious. The crab cake, while a bit pricey, was pan fried and filled with crab, which is always nice. In the end, we wound up getting four bottles of their wine and will probably be back for more!

Waiter was superb and very attentive. Food was great and the wine better.

Sunday morning breakfast at Ertel Cellars has become our favorite spot. Consistent quality meals every time along with a friendly and attentive staff is a winning combination. The steak and eggs is a must try and enjoy a mimosa as well. Highly recommend!

We are a Harvest Host member and spent Sunday, October 4, 2020 as a boondocking guest in the parking lot. Dinner was wonderful from the appetizer of Raspberry Brie to the desserts of Creme Brûlée and Chocolate Cake. The wines range from sophisticated to rustic and we had a blast tasting them. This is a repeat location as far as we are concerned. Beautiful and quiet property. The only thing I would have changed was the seriously bright security light on the lower parking lot. Thankfully we have blackout shades on the RV so could block them out.

As Harvest Hosts guests we enjoyed not only the property, but the fabulous wine tastings and dinners we shared with our friends that joined us. Top shelf Groupers and Ribeye. Perfecto!! Sandi & Ron Clifton, Sun City Center, FL. Thank You!!

We had a wine tasting as part of our dinner which was lovely and chose the Chambourcin Rose' to accompany dinner. I had the seafood platter special and Jim had the grouper. Both were delicious and reasonably priced.

Sunday breakfast was very good, server was excellent, first time we tried breakfast. We usually do dinner. Ertel Cellars is our top of choice to frequent. Highly recommend and their wine!

It was wonderful to sit outside on the patio. The food was amazing. The wine was delicious. I just wish they offered more wine tasting. You only get to pick three.

A very great place to eat. Seating for large family gatherings.

This is a good Italian-fusion restaurant in Batesville. Food is good, and price is fair. Facility were well maintenanced and restroom was clean, although interior at the restaurant was a little blunt. It was a nice spot to stop by. The reason I do not give 5 stars are that we couldn’t have a winery experience much. I expected to learn something about their winery or wine in general, but there was nothing to be offered. We wanted to do sampling, but at bar after meal (after we paid and left table) we were notified that sampling can be done only at table. It was a disappointment for us. People come to winery because they want to have a winery experience, but I did not feel much passion about winery from staffs. We felt like we went to a restaurant which located next to a winery. BTW, I bought a raspberry wine and it is sweet and tasty. Here are my suggestions: 1. Please put a sampling wines on menu with a small cost. I believe popular ones are sweet dessert wines. How about all dessert wines in small portion is on menu so that we can try everything? (Maybe $10?) Some review says free sampling, but I think it would be fun if we order and taste everything. I think it can generate more sales of wines. Also maybe discount if we buy multiple wines? People would like to brag about their trips. If they buy multiple wines, some will be a gift, then they will talk about your winery. 2. More information from the winery is better. For example, a monthly newsletter at a table would be nice so that we can take a look while we are waiting for the table. 3. A walk path would be great because this is such a beautiful property. Everyone would like to take photos next to grape vines. If there is a hill, maybe a look-out?? I think some people would love to walk to get fresh before leaving property since many come by a long drive? I would have ordered a glass or wine if I could spend more time on winery. On website, there is a bus tour, but no additional info was there. After lunch, they walk a path, get sweat, then stop by restaurant again for ice tea and dessert?? 4. Lastly, every staff should put on at least visible something to show that he/she is a staff. I think customers expect staffs wear uniforms at a fancy restaurant of your price point. Maybe those ideas have been already implemented, I could not see any during my visit.

Beautiful location! We love the wines, raspberry and blueberry are my favorites, my husband likes the BlackBerry and plum. The food their is wonderful. We recommend the pan seared jumbo crab cake for appetizer. This meal I had the chicken & shrimp pasta and delicious cheesecake. We was so good. I ordered for my husband the filet mignon with lobster mash potatoes & asparagus with creme brulee for dessert. He was in heaven!!

What a beautiful place to gather! This is my first time to dine at winery and it was very pleasant experience. All the staffs were very kind and helpful. They complied with Covid safety guidelines and I felt very safe and respected. We had lunch and food was fine (not great but price is affordable and it was pleasant experience overall with a beautiful view and scenery). I highly recommend this place for gathering!
