Stopped in for tapas and sangria at dinner time. The ambiance is amazing with a Spanish flare. The servers are knowledgeable and we're able to speak to modifications if needed. We had the red sangria which was on point! The paella was awesome, definitely enough to share. The parking was limited in the area but wherever you park, it's an easy walk with plenty of stores and shops to stop into.

Amazing food! Hubs and I went here for my birthday; We got the picadinho (app), and while we almost got the paella we instead ordered the Solomillo con Madeira (tenderloin) and the Cazuela Mozambique (shellfish casserole). The app was fantastic although a bit acidic (still recommend it!), and it was great with the bread to soak up the gravy. Tenderloin was cooked perfect, and the stew was definitely my favourite. Wish we had more time to come back and try the octopus and the paella!

Our family visited for the first time for dinner. We had a reservation, so our table was ready for us when we arrived at the restaurant. It is aesthetically pleasing. Our server might have been having a bad day because she just seemed like our presence was a bother. We got the feeling that we were not welcome because we had children with us. They were well behaved the entire time, so we know they didn’t cause a disruption or make a mess. The pace of the meal and service was very slow, so I don’t recommend coming here for a quick bite and a drink. We frequent Spanish restaurants, and this one wasn’t fabulous in our opinion. Everything was just ok. Even if our server were more welcoming, I don’t think that we would return.

We had an amazing meal at Espana last evening. From the service, drinks, spiced olives and the PAELLA MARINERA everything was prepared perfectly. Eddie was our server and is very attentive. The support staff kept table bussed as well. We cannot wait to go back. Gracias espana

Just had dinner tonight at Espana in Fernandina Beach, FL. It was outstanding! We have visited Spain and Portugal many times and love the food and people. Tonight, for an apatiser, we did the octopus tapas. It was excellent. For our main meal, we had the seafood paella. It was excellent, too. The service was great and friendly. The ambiance was welcoming, and the gardens are very attractive. We will definitely be back.

I have eaten at this restaurant a lot since moving here 4 years ago. I know it has changed hands and until recently I thought it was still great but I don't think so anymore. Employees blaming each other for miscommunication soured a recent experience. The Papas Bravas, one of my favorites, came out mushy after I talked it up for half an hour. We each ordered ceviche and it was unappetizing, but to add insult to injury was served in different sized dishes and portions. One person had twice as much as another. It just seemed like wait staff and employees had more of a defensive nature than pride in their restaurant. Anyway, it was discouraging. I am not going back for a while until I hear some good things from other people's experiences. I was not going to write this but in case the restaurant actually cares I felt like I should. It has been noticed and talked about by many friends lately also and until now I have defended the restaurant. There are enough visitors to sustain them I guess, but I haven't seen the Rolling Stones there lately.

Espana has always been my family's favorite restaurant in Amelia Island. Not only is the food amazing - but the entire staff is so welcoming and passionate about their craft. My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner in the courtyard last weekend and it was truly unbelievable. We coordinately directly with Chris Causey who was an absolute delight to work with. He made all of our food and wine dreams come true. We can't wait to go back the next time we are in town. Thank you all SO MUCH for such a great experience

This place deserves a review. We had reservations for 8 pm on Saturday night before Father's day. Showed up earlier but we were sat right away. Patio is a nice touch. Great use of space without feeling on top of each other. Service was fast, waiter was polite and friendly, busser was always on top of refills and any other request. We went with kids and at first were a little scared cuz they dont have a kids menu but the waiter wuickly eesolved as they offer typical kids choices and plenty of food if i may add. We ordered calamari, octapus ceviche and seafood paella. Appetizers were on time tasted great and paella also tasted great and plentiful for two. Although busy we never feel rushed which is much appreciated since i hate being asked every two minutes if i am done. Sorry for detailed review but place deserves my praise and time. Thank you Espana. Keep it up

Tapas were very good as service was as well

We were there when they open at 5:00pm. We were asked if we have a reservation thanks god we were there early the place get packed inside and outside. The staff was supper friendly and food was delicious we order the paella marinera to share with 3 the third person order (me) order also the cazuela Mozambique it has a little quick to it but if u can hold spice (like my mom) don’t order it. The cazuela was super delicious. The paella was also good down side we feel every once in a while like sand texture and also it was a little burn at the bottom. For the tapas we order the picadnho it was good. Save some of the bread and dipped there it was delicious it has some unique taste. I will come back.

It was our first time at España. The patio was nice and clean with plenty of shade and fans (it was a hot evening). Everything was perfect, from the impeccable service to authentic and delicious food. The paella we ordered was better than the one we had in actual Spain.

I’m glad to have tried this place after multiple recommendations. I went for Mother’s Day dinner and it was really nice. The food was very good and our server, Eddie, was kind and attentive. Definitely would return.

I was traveling and I was so happy to find this restaurant. This was a Mother's Day Dinner and the service , food was on point! I look forward to going again. Next time I hope to be able to sit outside as it seems so much more refreshing. Sitting indoors felt a little uncomfortable. But will definitely go again. Thank you for an amazing dinner

We've eaten here twice. Although this restaurant is 40 minutes up the coast from us, this will become a very regular dinner location. Make reservations early! How wonderful Espana is, is NOT a well kept secret! The atmosphere is warm and inviting in an almost constant celebratory manner. This is somewhere that brings out the marriage of food, wine, and company with traditional Spanish flair. From the variety of tapas to the shared paella plates, Espana was meant to be enjoyed with friends. Even you you are there by yourself; you are not alone. Everything we have tried here has been carefully and thoughtfully been prepared, and it is evident. Something as simple as a bowl of marinaded olives and capers with a glass of wine just seems elevated into the comfort zone here. There is something for every pallette here, and all of it with that distinct Iberian flair. Espana is not to be missed (just don't take our table before we get there!)

Delicious food and excellent service. We went the tapas route and both came away quite full. I found out that my son likes olives. The eggplant tapas was exceptional and the pork tenderloin was delicious. The salmon stuffed peppers were uniquely tasty. The octopus was the star of the show. There was an enormous portion and it was very good. If I find myself in Fernandina Beach again, I would be happy to eat here again. As far as price goes, even after giving a generous tip, our bill was still $26 less than a popular local (Jacksonville) restaurant and I felt like we got more food.

If you are in the area MAKE A RESERVATION HERE NOW! The food is delicious. We shared the seafood stew with spicy coconut broth. Their grilled calamari - oh my!!!!! Here is the not so good part STAY AWAY FROM DESSERTS. They are not made in house and they are not good!

My partner and I went here for a date night on a Saturday while we were vacationing in the area. It was amazing. Everything was perfect and I could not have asked for a better time. We brought her parents with us the following Monday and it wasn't the same at all. Seemed to be less than the normal Saturday night experience. I'll still be coming back for sure but I'll probably not come back on a weekday.

The food was delicious. The wait staff was friendly, although busy, everyone was attentive.

My family and I had a wonderful dinner at España this evening. The atmosphere on the patio is beautiful and the employees are welcoming. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed everything we wondered especially the Cazuela Mozambique!

Ate at the charming but packed outdoor patio, and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the tapas-chorizo with the onions and crostini with cheese, fig and ham–but the catch of the day entree, grouper was dry and overdone.

If you've ever been to Tio Pepe's in Baltimore, you know what great Spanish fusion food is. This is the first restaurant I've visited that compares. Fantastic tapas, the seafood entrees are chock full of a variety of sea creatures, and the sangria pitchers balance it all out. Great service even though our group did the European dinner thing and spent a few hours at our table. The waiter patiently stuck with us right up to the end and they locked the door and turned out the lights as we exited the building. If I find myself back in Amelia, I will definitely be back.

España is an amazing spot in Amelia Island! It has a nice patio for outdoor eating. Every dish is absolutely delicious. Be sure to try the pinxtos and paella. This is a great spot if your looking for food that you normally don’t eat at home.

It's not great, but pricy. Steak was tough and very hard to chew, but the rice was undercooked and vegetables mainly raw.

We visited Amelia Island following the footsteps of famous chef Jacques Pepin. He has mentioned this is one of his favorite places to eat on Fernandina Beach, so we reserved way in advance and got a lovely window table. Paella was at the top of my list so I ordered one for 4 people. It was abundant (it really is for 5 people) and beautifully presented but the flavor was just not there. The sangria was flat and dull as well. Our favorite thing was the hummus appetizer, which is not Spanish. Originally I wanted to try the coconut seafood dish they have on the menu but opted to go the traditional way. Someone I met later told me that dish was much better. Should have gone with my gut.

From the hostess to the bussman, all were professional! Food was great and creative.

For a dinner you'll remember, head for España! Our server, Connor, was fantastic! Everything we ordered was incredible, from the appetizers to dessert. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area!

We had a great meal at Espana, the empanada's were really good, the seafood entree's were really tasty and the service was 2nd to none, we really had a good time eating out on the patio.

Was a nice experience right up until the food got dropped off and the food runner pulled the steak knife out of his pants pocket. Everything else was great, but please adjust your service staff to not do that!

Wont be back soon. Food was outstanding. Service was friendly but lacking. One server and bus can't handle it. Every tapas order came out at same time. Took forever to get any attention. This is poor management not servers fault.

I will absolutely go again. The food is amazing! However, our waiter needed some improvement. Either he had too many tables, or they were understaffed, he actually told us he did have other tables, as we were asking questions, and clearly taking up too much of his time. He rarely came back to check on us, one person in my party had to go to the bar to get her own refill of her drink. Nothing special done for a 70th birthday. We were left wanting on service, but as mentioned above, the food was excellent.

Had a couple of absolutely wonderful tapas here last week when visiting Amelia Island. My server Brian took great care of me. He suggested a special for the night with goat cheese and arugula and it was incredible. I then had their seared calamari steak topped with capers, olive oil and balsamic glaze. Both were really good. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Amelia Island. Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

This is the highest rated restaurant in the area for a reason. Really fantastic food at a very reasonable price and amazing service. Escargot is to DIE for.

We had a wonderful dinner last night. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu. We ordered the empanadas, drunken clams, and the paella. It all so delicious. It is reservations only restaurant but can’t wait to go back and try other items off the menu.

We’ve been to España several times and have enjoyed each experience. The food is delish and the atmosphere is lovely. I usually get the vegetarian paella and my husband has tried several different dishes (enjoyed them all). Just a note, the non-vegetarian paellas are made for two. If that’s too much, they do have lots of options. Great place to take guests from out of town. Make a reservation!

Superb dinner - our group of four shared the empanadas appetizer (one order would have been sufficient) and seven tapas dishes. I really liked the portobello mushroom dish, pork tenderloin, and chorizo and onions, and angry potatoes. My co-diners also loved the grilled garlic shrimp and drunken clams and a special cheese dish. The service was excellent and sat on the heated patio. A wonderful and filling evening.

Took a friend here when it was super windy and cold on a whim and they were able to accomodate us outside next to the heater. The wait staff was fantastic, the food was delicious, and despite it being unusually cold outside for Florrrrrrida, it was still cozy and great! Had a wide variety of options to accomodate my friend who follows a specific diet. I recommend this place and definitely use Resy to get your reservation in advance if you want to eat inside, as this place is super popular. The Ceviche and Papas Bravas were delighful. My only regret is not getting the Paella as it was a chorus of Bob Wiley "Mmmms" all around us.

Best Spanish food and Sangria around

I had an excellent experience from beginning to end. I was greater warmly as I entered, when I sat down, and by every member of the staff while I enjoyed my meal. The food was delicious, well portioned, and I left very satisfied. Even made great leftovers the following night. The owner even came out and spent some time at my table. I 1'000% will be coming back here over any other restaurant next time I'm in Florida!

Had a great New Years Eve dinner at Espana. Fortunately, they worked us in early so we could dine on a very crowded night. I really liked the calimari appetizer! Our next door neighbors had been previously, so we followed their recommendations. Service was prompt, and we were finished right at the recommended time!

I first visited España almost 15 years ago when my husband and I stumbled upon it while walking around downtown Fernandina on our first wedding anniversary. We went back a few years later and then again last Friday night. We live in Jax so we don’t make it there much but it just gets better and better each time we go. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the goat cheese crostinis with the fig jam, prosciutto and balsamic glaze. They put all of my favorite flavor profiles into little bite-sized pieces of perfection. I’d love to try a spicy version of it with a little hot honey or jalapeño for a little kiss of heat. The paella was phonomenal with huge, fresh mussels and shrimp.The sangria was refreshing. Our server, Brian was knowledgeable and informative about the menu and made excellent recommendations without being overbearing. It really is a lovely gem of a restaurant. I hope to be back soon.

Been eating here for years. New owners still have some work to do. Steak was overcooked and cold. When it was redone, it was delicious. Service took almost two hours. Way too long for dinner.

I have come to this restaurant several times over the past several years, and it always impresses me. The atmosphere, the food, and the great service make this one of my favorite restaurants. It truly feels like a family style experience when we share the tapas and paella with our family and friends.

Espana is an extraordinary place to have an intimate dinner, no matter how many people are in your party. We have dined here since they first opened. The professionalism of every staff member is a treat. Amazing personalities to take care of, this very special dining experience. The head of booking and hostess, Sophie, has taken such good care of us, we feel like family in their home. Authentic to the core. Thank you for all their efforts to make our night, the best it can be.

Good restaurant but the last time i was there, the piquillo pepper was stuffed with tuna fish instead of salmon.

Went for dinner during Dickens Days, so it was a little busy. Started with Sangria - it was tasty, but very “wine-forward.” My friend ordered the Lemon Chicken With a sauce, yellow rice and veggies. She said it was very good. I ordered the Shrimp Ceviche. It had a slightly spicy tomato base, and when it was drained a little, it was very good. I also ordered the Romaine wedge-type salad. It was very good - a very large portion of Blue Cheese crumbles, tomatoes and raw onions. I got the Balsamic Dressing - very tasty salad. Our server Robbie was good, but our food took over a half an hour to come with no explanation. The atmosphere is great!

Mediocre food at best. Too much salt on the calamari. Scallops were cut way too thin and were tasteless. Clams were tough. Empanadas were nothing special. Would not go here again.

Everything was just ok. Has the potential to be great, but a lot is left to be desired with regards to food. First off Serrano ham doesn’t need to be accompanied by fig jam and shrimp seemed less fresh than other establishments in the area. Typically Spanish food is meant to be kept simple and any creative iterations only help to bring out the foods natural flavors. This was not the case during our visit and we were left quite disappointed. Regardless we hope to try them out again in the future and hope to see some more authentic dishes being offered.

Cute restaurant in Amelia Island. The scallops were delicious and the highlight of our dinner. My husband and I love octopus, but this dish had way too much sauce on it to the point where you could only taste the sauce and not the meat. This could just be a personal preference of ours idk. The seafood special was supposed to be wahoo, but it tasted like swordfish. It was just ok and also had a lot of sauce on it.
