Great value and place to stay right in the heart of Talkeetna, and EXACTLY as advertised. Really annoyed at some of the other reviewers who complained about the noise and shared bathrooms. It is well-communicated that the rooms are directly above a bar, which they are. If you are staying on a night there is a live band, you will absolutely hear them. Check the music schedule online if this may be an issue for you. If you are concerned about the safety of shared bathrooms (whatever that means), don't stay here. Overall, you are renting a small room in a tremendous location for a very low price relative to the area. If you are OK with the quirks, you will love it, if you are not, just stay somewhere else instead.

Smelled so rancid we had to walk out immediately. Prepare your nostrils to be assaulted.

We were originally supposed to be in accommodation, but by mistake it was full, the manager provided alternative accommodation 400 meters away

So, for people visiting in the summer to talkeetna wanting to enjoy local dishes. Don't skip the hide away treasure called The Wildflower. The original owner used to cook for our late president, George Bush senior. When he retired from cooking at the White House, he took his recipes and opened up in talkeetna back in 2001. I am uncertain why they closed their first place, but they just recently reopened as a food stall next to The Fairview Inn. With recipes still fit for the president himself. It's a must try for anyone who is a foodie and wants a taste of the alaskan fish. But don't miss out from there made from scratch desserts either. This has been one of the most memorable places for me to eat through my whole trip here.

Booked this place for a trip thru Alaska, needed a place between Denali and Anchorage, distance wise we picked this place out of the blue. Very charming, not much info on checked in but the essential of shared bathroom and key to get in room and bar afterhours. It was very clean, right in middle of town, parking was a little tight but we found a place close, room was not much bigger than the 2 queen (full?) beds. Only concern I would have is they seem to have a band often and our room was right above the stage, so we didn't get to sleep until after band stopped. Not an issue for us, it was a great band and we stayed in bar until the band stopped but if parents with young kids booked it I can see it being an issue. For 2 middle age couples that had not researched the beautiful town and fun Inn we had a blast!

Karaoke Monday at the Fairview in was a try highlight in our trip to Alaska. Magical place, amazing staff. Really exceptional vibes.

The bathrooms is clean execpt for the bathtub theres black mold in it. And there was two bed bugs in my bed...😬 yikess hella nasty fr. Depends on when u go but theres usually a band playing throughout the night and its so loud that the floor shakes but the lady warns you about that before checking in. Im scared to sleep in my bed tonight i dont wanna get bit up😭 they making me sleep in here guys HELP ME

Stayed three nights at this lovely place! If you are into music this is a place to be!! The owner is super friendly and the Bolgarian cleaning crew rocks!!!

We just stayed the night last night to come to the Iditarod restart in willow with friends best experience ever the staff was amazing the rooms were clean the community was awesome so fun definitely will be coming back to stay here

We spent our Valentine's in Talkeetna! We had a romantic evening at Fairview inn!!! Wednesday night is open 🎤 mic jam.... We had a blast!!! A few cocktails and slept like babies upstairs in room #5 we will be back!!! Winter wonderland in full effect! Neeto old bathtub! Sweet cozy rooms! Met the owner in the morning and he was super friendly and gave us extra special attention...and a Valentine's treat!!! 💝

As seen on channel 5's .... Sue Perkins lost in alaska! 😉👍 The pub seems such a fun vibrant place to be packed full of fun! Where you ring a bell 🔔 and you have to buy a pint for everyone in the pub! 🍺🍺🍺😂😂 quite literally!! Then you can swing from a glitterball at the bar! 😃😉👍

Enjoying a fun evening with live music at the downstairs bar. Fantastic staff, atmosphere, and live entertainment. Merch is great, though limited in sizes in store. Would have loved to buy something while there. The locals were so kind. Made the evening. Keep it up Fairview Inn!

We did not stay here but greatly enjoyed the hospitality at the bar. Good place where the locals and tourists enjoyed each other. A must stop.

Loved this place!! Stopped in for a drink, Courtney makes a better blood Mary than most places in the lower 48. She adds to the energy and welcoming vibe of the bar. Check out the walls, you will find some interesting items like a salacious love letter from Warren Harding to his mistress.

If the Fairview was not what it is, the rating might be different. But it IS the place where Denali climbers spend the night after they are back from weeks on the mountain. And as such, it is unique and awesome.

It's the place to stop for a cold one after climbing Denali. Great service and atmosphere. Ring the bell for service ;)

What a great bar and saloon. Rustic hometown place. An original town icon. Service was grand and servers were extra friendly.

2023 - 100 Years and still NICE&BEAUTIFUL

I was excited to take my new wife to this historic bar and wanted to have the selection of a full bar. The town was busy including the place next door, but it seemed corporate owned and we like to support local places. We walked in, got a sour look from the wavy blond haired bar tender without a hello. We chose a seat without being told to do so. We heard how she was having a bad day while she had a drink with a local. We tried to be patient and understanding. Five minutes passed without a hello, waters or asking for an order. A staff member walked in to a warm welcome from her. We were trying to figure out what we did wrong. A couple more sour looks and we walked out. We learned later at another venue that it was our job to go up to the bar to order anything and without being told to do so. We went back to try again an hour or so later and had a much better experience with a more rested bar tender and a whole different scene with very few seats available…and had a great time. Take two was a win!!

Live music and dancing most Fridays and Saturdays! Come for the party, and stay for the hospitality. They sometimes also host markets and vendors in the daytime, AND have rooms available to stay the night.

Great place, stayed here when I had some issues with my original hotel during a trip. Owners were super friendly and helpful, and a very cool building. listened to the live music from my room while relaxing and seemed like a really great bar with great music. I would definitely suggest this place to anyone staying in Talkeetna. Great place for anyone who is planning late night activities or can sleep through loud noise, if you are a light sleeper or want to go to bed early, heed their warning that this is a room above a bar.

One of the best says of our entire AK land/cruise trip. The locals and visitors were amazing and inspiring the drinks and bar staff were amazing!

We heard that @CousinCurtiss was playing here last Thursday, so we re-routed our trip and booked a room. There are 2 shared bathrooms upstairs, which we were originally concerned about (particularly around checkout time), but we ended up not having any issues, and one was always open whenever we needed it or wanted to shower. The room was small but functional, and the queen-sized bed was very comfortable. Online booking and self-check-in was easy and efficient. Great price-point for a last-minute accommodation this time of year. As for the music, we knew @CousinCurtiss and his friends would be on fire, but we had no idea how engaged the crowd would be. Everyone was dancing and having a great time, making this one of the best shows we've been at recently. The bar tenders were efficient, despite the crowd, and drinks were reasonably priced. The locals were friendly and fun. Definitely one of several highlights from our trip. We'll be back next time we are in the area.

One of the best Saloon's I've ever been to. Everyone had a blast dancing and singing on music night while the other nights were spent respectfully listening to the local ways that make this small town spectacular.

Great place to play with your band. Not a huge stage but an appreciative crowd. Bartenders are competent and its the center of town. Talkeetna should be on your list in the summer. If you've never been your in for a nice surprise. Nice park and campground. Lots of cool shops and restaurants. Tours to Denali, flights and more. It's freaking Alaska Disneyland. The heart of the nightlife is the Fairview Inn. Awesome.
