Never disappoints!! A staple in the community for over 50 years! I have been a regular customer most of that time. The remark about the owner in the earlier review is baseless! He works 6 days a week beginning at 2 AM to make sure everything is daily fresh baked quality!! He also donates $1000's of dollars worth of his baked goods and time to over 100 organizations a year!! He never asks for recognition!! He is carrying on his parents business the same way they did when they started it 52 years ago. His sisters and mom worked hard because they wanted to make sure the business thrived. Not because they were forced labor!! Every bit of hard work and great food is what Flanders Donut and Bake Shop is about.

Used to be the best bakery in south eastern CT. Went straight down hill after the son took over. I have never met him in person because he worked his twin sisters and mother to the bone! He showed up in back to collect "his" cash. That was it. What a crime. Another great small business down the drain.

The beat donuts in, CT and at a time when prices are through the roof, they are very reasonable! I’ve been coming here since I was a boy. The donuts haven’t changed and the line hasn’t gotten any shorter for these amazing donuts. The bagels are also a nice treat. Great bakery.

Gave a good review other day changing it They knew what they handed me poor integrity deeply corrupted low morals Ya this and the coffee was extremely intentionally and obviously watered down and weak (not the roast I know the difference) spent 13$ total got a burnt croissant bacon egg and cheese with like 2 half slices of dry bacon wrapped around and microwave egg ...don't come here I won't again ever discussting and for 13 bucks could have gone to shack and got loaded home fries on way to work highly I suggest somewhere else like McDonald's dunkin even cumbys and 711 is better I would pay 2 dollars for everything and I'd still feel robbed

Nice little bakery in town and they have such a variety of different types of doughnuts, pastries cookies. They have different kind of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, coffee. You name it, they have it. It's my favorite spot but it's cash only.

This place is a local hot spot. It's an old fashioned donut shop -- not an eatery. You can come in and place your order or just use the drive-through. (Hence the 3-stars on Atmosphere. You come here for great donuts, not "Atmosphere.") It's family owned and been around decades, with good reason: their donuts and pastries are just what your sweet tooth is craving. I stopped by the other day to pick up end-of-year gift cards for some of my kiddo's teachers: much more appreciated than another "Best Teacher" mug. 😆

We love it here. So glad to see the girl with colorful hair is no longer there. She was always sitting on the floor while the older ladies and all the other workers ran around waiting on the customers. If she did wait on anyone, she had a terrible attitude!

I don't know about you, but I miss the original Dunkin donuts, or any other donut shop that served fresh soft donuts. Made on sight, not shipped in from who knows where. Boxed stores have taken over and quality has suffered. Not at this store. Fresh made donuts and baked goods. Love, walking into a bake shop where the smell hits your nose and taste buds at the same time. Two thumbs up. Worth the drive no matter where hail from.

I heard about this bakery from a coworker so I decided to bring some donuts to work. It was busy which is always a good sign. I chose a variety of donuts and pastries. They're good sized and very tasty! Just make sure you bring cash because that's all they accept. Also, they're closed on Sunday. I didn't take pictures because there were so many people and I was on my way to work. I will definitely be back.

Amazing housemade old-school donuts - the maple bacon was topped with loads of fresh crumbled bacon and fresh maple icing - we got the last 2 in the store! Be sure to get thete early for the best selection of all flavors.

This is truly a donut shop like I remember from my childhood. They are understaffed so be patient because it is so worth it! I live an hour away and it is worth the trip.

This place has a great reputation for a reason. Its a staple in our house whenever people stay the weekend. Cant go wrong with the bagels or any donuts. Highly recommended!

An unexpected find! So glad we stopped at the Flanders Donut & Bake Shop. I'm reminded of the old prayer "Oh happy fault of Adam": what seemed a mess turned out to be a wonderful treat. We were northbound from NJ to the Cape, with the strategy of beating traffic and getting gas at Costco East Lyme. We arrived at Costco only to find the gas pumps wouldn't open for another hour. My wife was hankering for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat, and started looking for that big Donut chain. As we looked for an alternate gas station we saw Flanders Donut & Bake Shop. Flanders Donut & Bake Shop has a rich variety of donuts. We had the blueberry filled glazed donut that was a special treat, along with our coffee. There was a substantial line at 6:00 on a Saturday morning of a long holiday weekend: it moves somewhat quickly, but beware: get to the head of the line, gaze at all the delights you behold, you'll be forgiven if you lose your resolve. I saw some complaints about the slowness of the service: the staff is knowledgeable and efficient, the service slows as the head of the line swoons in anticipation of the ecstasy that awaits. Flanders Donut & Bake Shop is cash only, although they thoughtfully provide an ATM. Parking was adequate at the early time we visited. Perhaps what we liked best about this small local shop was the bonhomie among the customers: each bonded to the other in anticipation of our early morning "sin". Try the Flanders Donut & Bake Shop.

Best everything bagel I've ever had! My wife was in food heaven over the jelly donuts! If your ever around them definitely stop in, you won't be disappointed.

Worst bagel I’ve ever had. I didnt’t think ct could have bad bagels!! Staff wasn’t very friendly but maybe they were stressed. Cash only is a bit of a pain too.

Best donuts we've ever had!!! I took my father-in-law here and he said he had the best, blueberry muffin of his life - and he's in his 90's!! We also bought a few donuts from here for my husband's birthday party and they were a hit. Fast friendly service and they also have a drive thru!

Best donuts in southeastern CT and possibly the state. They do run out by 12 o’clock. Lots of varieties and combinations. Coffee is okay and bagels are pretty good too. Great stop for breakfast. Cash only business but there is an ATM inside. Drive through is pretty quick too!
