Take out General Tso chicken tasted like it was refried to be heated up. It was old and terrible. Asked for white rice got fried rice. This place is not what it used to be. Very disappointed in the reheated old food . Absolute garbage today.

We ordered yesterday night food from here and believe to have food poisoning and we both had egg rolls / shrimp roll also shrimp mi fun amd steamed broccoli chicken. We didn't share the food only thing we had the same was rolls, both of us feel terrible and as you can imagine what symptoms come with food poisoning. Be careful !!

I’ve ordered various items on more than one occasion. Each item was well prepared and came at the perfect temperature. The food has always been good and reheated nicely the next day.

Great go-to for Chinese food with fast turnaround.

Spent $90 for very bland food, the lo mein was sticky and had absolutely no flavor, I paid extra for fried rice that was barely fried and had no flavor at all. Won’t be returning.

Had the general Tso’s chicken lunch special and crispy shrimp. Always fresh, clean, and delicious. The owner who takes our order has always been very friendly too. This is our go-to Chinese spot in the area. They also have a few comfortable tables inside to eat at.

I love golden bowl. Triple combo, combining chicken fingers and beef TERIYAKI (not "on a stick!"), pupu platter, house fried rice. Plus awesome deals and discounts. SOLID. My new spot, even if it's a little further!

I usually really like this location. However, not this time. I ordered shrimp fried rice, and the rice was barley fried it was white rice, which was clumpy and not cohesive. It was way off. The fried chicken was overcooked and hard to eat. My friend, this was his first time eating here. He normally loves to eat sour soup. He ordered the sour soup, and after 1 spoon, he was turned off completely and deemed it in eatable. He threw it away, and the egg rolls were saturated in oil. Very disappointing, the time before this when I visited this location for my family the quality of food was not there either. My children were sick, and I bought them chicken noodle soup from here. It was horrible they both refused to eat it. So, this location I would not recommend to anyone from here on. It is a waste of money and time.

Very yummy. We ordered delivery tonight for the first time in over a year. I have no idea if there are new owners, or what, but I was pleasantly surprised. I expected the bland boiled chicken in noodles that has been the norm for most Chinese places around here. The chicken lo mein actually had flavor. Everything arrived piping hot and fairly well flavored. Obviously not upscale dining, but for a quick Chinese delivery meal, I was quite happy.

After moving to the Valrico area, my wife and I were looking for a new Chinese restaurant to become our new-new. So, we visited the Golden Bowl for the first time off of Lithia. To our surprise the fried rice was very-very gummy and did not taste like rice. The egg roll and combination fried rice tasted the same. Whoever prepared the food, put too much soy sauce or water in the rice. This was an absolute bad experience, not to mention the order taker running around overwhelmed and rushing to take orders and take phone orders. For my order, he told me "20 minutes, I hope!" We were super disappointed and not impressed. Definitely not quality food and we will not be going back there. Enter at your own RISK!!!

First & foremost this is not an eat in restaurant, strictly take out, so don't expect any type of ambiance. If you want water to drink, ask to purchase a bottle of water and they will be able to help you with no problem. This Chinese food is the closest I have found to NY Chinese Food. It is delicious and well made and the longest I have had to wait for my food is 15 minutes. Am shocked at some of the bad reviews but all I can think is everyone or place has a bad day, I have been going there YEARS and have yet to be disappointed but they must of changed their dumpling chef because now their dumplings have a hint of cinnamon or something similar and I hate the taste now. Please go back to your regular way of making dumplings! Still eat there because we love many other things on their menu.

It became my go-to Chinese restaurant. Most Chinese restaurant are pretty much identical. I think this one is the type that you can’t go wrong with. Staff are nice as well, not much to complain. Highly recommended!

After many years enjoying good food, like all restaurants it looks like it was sold and the food is the worst in the area, do not order from this place, my order ended up in the trash.

What happened to this place. We ordered the shrimp Chow mein combination and we got all fried cabbage and no noodles. Not sure if it’s new management or new employees but we are never ordering from this place again.

Apparently the golden bowl has been sold to a new buyer because it’s not in the least bit like it was the last time I was there. The quality of the food is not as good and the prices are higher. Won’t be going back!!!😥

We have bought here in the past without any problems. Called to order, man placed me on hold. Continued to take orders. His end of the phone was like sitting on the counter, after 17 minutes, finally placed my order. 6 egg rolls, large chicken chop suey, large sweet and sour chicken and a large pork fried rice. I picked up. The man charged extra for using a credit card! My order was $56. I got home, the egg rolls were burnt, the white rice was missing. The person who ordered the sweet and sour chicken just ate a couple pieces of the chicken. The sauce has gotten more sweet and taste more like cherry sauce or something. The chop suey was okay but once again, no white rice that was supposed to come with the dish. The pork fried rice was the only person who was happy with tonight's dinner. Would definitely find another place to spend $56. Called about missing food and man said I could drive back. I live 25 minutes away and with traffic absolutely not worth it. Said would remake it tomorrow, I am not going out there then either. Just going to find another Chinese place. Complete rip off

Update 9/26/23 paid 56 bucks didn't get all of our food. We live in 9 miles away. They did not offer a reasonable solution. Quality of food has gone down over the last few years. They get an big fat F for my rating.

When Jenny owned this place, it was the best around. Unfortunately there is new ownership and they do not cook the same. The food is lower quality and just not good anymore. So sad as this was my go to for 15 years.

We usually order from here once a week and the food has always been very good. Not sure what happened tonight, but the chicken in the chicken chow mein was terrible. There was what looked like 2 big chunks of chicken the size of a small fist each. The chicken was tough and seemed like it had more fat than meat on it. Spent $38 and wound up throwing away half our food.

Had to change my review after years of being customer. Prices have become insanely high and I don’t believe it’s inflation. It’s greed. And the taste isn’t what it was for years. Is it new ownership??

Called in my order and when I got home they missed the house fried rice. Called them and instead of apologizing and saying we would make it for you they said they never charged me for the item. Which they did. He repeated my order back to me and then said oh but we didn’t charge you for the house fried rice. We won’t be going back.

I had the some of the best Chinese food at Golden Bowl! The food was off the charts delicious - I'm still dreaming about the crispy General Tso's Chicken and Shrimp Broccoli. The staff was friendly, and they made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual dinner for friends and family. Definately have became my go-to!

Ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. Sweet and sour sauce tasted like the strawberry sauce you use for strawberry shortcake and the rice tasted like dirty dish rags smell. I got food poisoning from my meal even though I only ate a few bites and threw it away.

They over charged me and gave themselves a tip on my card even though I gave a cash tip. $85 for 4 meals Nope- not again.

Great spot for Chinese take out. The food was hot and flavorful. My only disappointment was the lack of vegetables mixed in with each item. The service was prompt and friendly. The establishment was clean and easy to find. I would highly recommend this spot for anyone craving authentic Chinese take out.

My favorite in all of greater Brandon area for 10+ years. Tried others but always return here for best taste. Staff is super friendly and wait is never long.

I’ve been placing orders for over a year and a half. Called the restaurant to place a take-out order and the staff and the person answering the phone or extremely rude. When trying to use a coupon that is on their own menu they refused to honor their own coupon and told me if I wanted it I could pay for it rude and faults advertisement I will never visit this restaurant or establishment again.

Just your average Chinese takeout The inside of the establishment does make the place in inviting and abandoned. My chicken was very chewy and it seemed like they picked low quality chicken to sell.

Chinese food close to what we get in the north.. we usually order the fried chicken wing with pork fried rice. This is our go to Chinese take out.

They have great food , customer service sucks . They will repeat your number back to you and still can’t take your number down right . Very nice, orders done fast, great food. I love the orange chicken, fried dumplings, miso soup, chicken and broccoli and the shrimp fried rice is delicious. You can ask them to make any dish spicy.

Pretty heartbroken, and that’s no exaggeration that they recently changed their dumplings. They were SO delicious and the best I’ve ever had and would drive 30 minutes out of my way to get them and now they must be from the grocery store they have gone so downhill. I don’t know what happened but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back your homemade dumplings! Charge more! I don’t care, just bring back the quality!

When I’m craving Chinese, this is where I go! I have closer places by me, but it’s worth the extra couple miles. The food is always super fresh, I even made 2 extra stops before heading home and the food was still hot! The egg rolls are to die for! The best I’ve ever had. Whatever you order, add a couple egg rolls to it. You won’t regret it! The General Tso’s chicken is super good, and the honey chicken! And I always pair it with shrimp fried rice and 4 egg rolls (they’re seriously THAT good).

Didn't get any sauce an the gravy for the egg foo young was not good.

This is definitely my favorite spot. If you want great food and the service to match this place is for you. Ny style Chinese food. The owner is super sweet too. Worth the wait even when they are busy. Give this place a chance , the other Chinese restaurants in Tampa pale in comparison.

The best New York style in Florida

This is one of the very few places that repeatedly impresses. Their food is always hot, always fresh, we have picky children and so our order is difficult and yet they always get everything right on the money! Very friendly front cashier, and they are super fast! Highly recommend if you want some great Chinese food! Also one of the few places left that has actual fried rice and not yellow rice with vegetables!

It was good food reasonable price and took it home but not as good as Lee House in Brandon. No one seems to be able to compete with them.

Edit: I love this place however I think they changed the oil or something because my belly hurts every time I have it, that makes me sad. We tried this place last night and loved their special wonton soup . Is a very small place and not a sit down restaurant is more of a take out

They make the best Honey Chicken that I have ever tasted.

Hate to write this review but the food was just not good. The place is very clean and the service was very nice. No complaints there, but the food was just ok and the eggroll I was not able to eat. Every one has a bad day. May give them another shot.

I have been searching for an amazing local Chinese spot for a long time we ordered the general tsos shrimp one spicy and one regular and it wad amazing it was flavorful and filling. We also ordered wonton soup and chicken wings and it was all delicious we will be eating here on the regular going forward

Best food around. Been eating here for 13yrs love it. There restaurant is old, but the are a small family run business that care. They care about there jobs and customers. I will eat there until i die or they closed.

This is our go to for Chinese take out. Is this the closest to our home? Nope, but it is the closest that has good take out. It is worth the extra drive. I recommend the take out here.

Favorite chinese takeout restaurant ever, definitely more for takeout not much room for dining in. however the owners are amazing, it can be months and whenever we call and start ordering she will start naming off our usual order without a hitch.
